Very elevated coffee shop. Their oatmilk latte made with their featured brand, Three Ships Coffee of Virginia Beach, is among the best I have had anywhere I have travelled. My barista took the brief moment to draw a lovely flower on my drink cup. The decor is welcoming, the drink, baked goods and food menu is varied with many delicious treats to try. Never had an affogato? This would be the place for that. I will be back!

This place has a lovey atmosphere and beautiful decor. Im a huge fan of the layout of their main room, and how spacious it feels. I got a drip coffee and a carrot cupcake (gluten free and vegan!)- the coffee is strong and really tasty. Staff behind the counter were also very nice. This place is a bit pricey ($2.90 for the coffee, $4.00 for the bakery item), but they serve quality food/beverages.

A nice quaint little coffee shop. The Americano is delicious. I had the b l a t. Its very tasty and well made. However for the price it needs a little more bacon. And it would still be pricey even then. Almost $8 for a sandwich but again it was tasty. I actually tried it just so that I could post this review of it. It is definitely worth a try. I gave it five stars because the staff is good and attentive. The food is good although a little overpriced in my opinion. And the coffee is on point.

I think this place has potential, however they have a lot to work on. When I went the barista just stared at me instead of asking what I wanted or saying hello. My latte tasted like hot milk instead of coffee, and they had a beautiful espresso machine they werent using. I visited with a friend who ordered a cappuccino, and ended up burning her tongue after the first sip. Opening the lid to my drink was another disappointment. It seemed like there was little to no effort put into the presentation of the drink, and there were some large bubbles in the milk. Its a shame, because they could be good.

This is the cutest little coffee shop I think Ive ever been in!The customer service there is amazing, the avocado toast is absolutely delicious and the drinks are yummy!! Definitely recommend!

Very friendly staff. I ordered something warm and sweet to drink and the employees made a delicious drink for me. The breakfast sandwich was decent. My friend had the breakfast tacos and said they were good as well. I do wish they had more selection for breakfast foods. They do offer a variety of pastries as well. Will definitely go back.

I love finding great local coffee shops, and this is no exception! Delicious coffee and amazing treats. Their lattes are wonderful with subtley on the sweetness and focus on flavor. I enjoyed a mouth watering cinnamon roll as well. 10/10 would recommend.

Love this coffee shop! ☕️- mostly indoor space (decent size but not huge)- a few tables outside but you’re basically facing the road, not much to see lol- Favorite thing is the London Fog tea! I actually started making it at home now. So yummy.- nice and quick service

Grounded coffee is an absolutely excellent coffee shop and so far is the best one that I have been to in Newport News. Delicious coffee and home-made syrups along with great bakery items make this a shop that is definitely a must go to whenever you are in the area. The only reason Grounded receives 4 stars instead of 5 is because they do not carry caramel as an option.

The girls who work here are so sweet!! I waited maybe 10 minutes for a coffee and tacos (not a problem at all, they were busy and I had nowhere to go) and when they brought me my order they gave me a piece of banana bread to apologize?? The food, coffee, and atmosphere are great here. 10/10 recommend. Happy to be moving closer to this shop so I can stop by more frequently :)

Great customer service, they are so welcoming! I enjoy the unique coffee flavors they present as they are quite tasty and inventive. Also the best matcha latte Ive had was at this establishment.

Nice little spot. Really enjoyed the iced latte. Hope they do well, the location is a little odd and in need of some more sinage near City Center Blvd to bring people in. Prices are a bit high but thats understandable. Will go again!

Breakfast tacos were YUMMY! I had an Americano to drink, very good and they gave me a drip refill which was also delicious. Please try this locally owned and operated business!

Great little place cool atmosphere and then food is good. Got the avocado toast and it was banging. Lime, everything bagel topping on sourdough so good and made fresh. Only complaint the coffee could be hotter but still a great little local spot.

Love this place, I would definitely come back another time for coffee here, this place is very relaxing and welcoming. The reason I give this four stars is because they don’t have Caramell, but hopefully they will have some sooner or later .

Am recently gluten-free and vegan. Tried for the first time yesterday and came again today it was SO good. The most lovely baristas and their food and coffee is great! I had the avocado test on their GF bread and the beekeeper with Oatmilk. Definitely recommend.

Wow! Exactly what I said out loud to the lovely ladies at the counter after I took my first sip of coffee! Honestly it was the best latte Ive ever had and happy to hear the beans are local from Va Beach (Three Ships Coffee Roasters). From the uniquely made nature decor items that add a relaxing atmosphere to the delicious warm oatmeal, I am so happy this place has opened so close to home. Will definitely be making this my go-to coffee shop.

Favorite coffee shop yet. It has a great quiet atmosphere with wifi. The pastries are gluten free and vegan. The cappacino was good but very foamy.

Great new cafe in Newport News, a nice complement to Canvas down the street. Open, modern atmosphere, courteous baristas, simple menu. They got food here too! A strip of power outlets on the back wall for charging my laptop while I worked was a minor plus as well.

Cute new cafe in Newport News. Menu is just the basics. The coffee is excellent. Open until 5pm on weekdays and 2pm on Saturday. Closed on Sunday.

The people and environment at Grounded Coffee are warm and inviting, and the coffee is amazing! I loved the thoughtful decor which made for a relaxing atmosphere. This is a great little local coffee shop and we look forward to coming back.

I had the bagel breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! I also had an oat milk latte which was amazing! Will definitely be returning soon for another oat milk latte and to try the oatmeal!

I wanted to like this place, but honestly the staff was nonchalant (not rude but not friendly either). No pastries, and the prices seemed high. Will not be back unfortunately.

This is a nice little coffee shop in such a great location! Lots of parking, which is always a stressed fo me when going somewhere new! I have gone here about 3-4 times since it first opened. I enjoy the coffee, I have ordered vanilla cappuccinos and the London fog (first time Ive ever had it, it is very good, would recommend)! The tables are fairly close together which can get a bit awkward by overhearing others conversations, but the decor is very cute and boho!! Besides coffee I have had one of their breads (cant remember if it was pumpkin or something different), it was very good, but I do wish they had a bit more options for food, and more specifically, pastries! The workers are nice and friendly. They have free wifi, which is an essential for any college student! I would say, however, being a college student, that the coffee can get a bit expense, especially if you get flavors or milk alternatives. I would definitely give this place a try, as it is very cute, and a local place (which are obviously superior to chains)!
