Dr. Lindsay is awesome. I changed over from a different office and came to Dr. Lindsay first, then I brought my daughter, grandmother, and husband along as his patients. 😅 Hes pretty cool and has no problem explaining things to you if you have questions. Very thorough guy. 👍👍

This is an awful staff! They do not call you back there is an open recall on dream wear c-pap machine that Dr. Lindsay referred my husband to he has now been diagnosed with pulmonary issues and we have been trying to reach that doctor for weeks now. The nursing staff was completely rude to us I recorded the conversation because she was downright hateful and when I told her I was recording our conversation she changed her tune and started changing how she was talking to us l. Dr. Lindsay is recommending that all patients stay on the CPAP even though there’s an open recall that causes damage is absolutely horrible experience will not go there and I hope his office shuts down. No empathy to what my husband and I are now dealing with!!!

The worst Ent in Newport News always late Cpap nurse never contacts you or tell you when your equipment has been discontinued operated on patients for no reason I almost died from his operation he takes on more patients than he can handle the worst

That was a very scary operation and had I not trusted in Dr. Lindsay, as a person living with P.T.S.D., I dont know what I would have done! So here’s my story and hopefully it will help some of you that don’t have the benefit of a referral to Dr. Lindsay or Hampton Roads ENT. I’ve lived away from my hometown so I know firsthand how hard it is to find service providers you can trust and that will fit your needs.First about me, I’m 40’s, I’m an athlete, I run a lot, live very healthy and I don’t have a lot of medical issues, but I do get chronic sinusitis. I had severe sinusitis as a child resulting in awful migraines through my teenage years, and I had my nose broken 4 times over the years from car wrecks, military service and a fight back in my 20s.Through my 30’s I went to this other ENT that was very highly rated and had great referral from my PCP. They had 5-star reviews but in reality, their practice was problematic on several levels. I told my other ENT about my prior nose issues and she said I was not a good sinus surgery candidate because of my multiple nose fractures even though I was constantly having problems.So I thought I was doomed to bad snoot forever, then I met Dr. Lindsay through some mutual friends and at first just thought he seemed like a nice guy- I knew he was an ENT but I’d been seeing another doc for my chronic nose issues. Then, I got frustrated with my other ENT because I kept having issues and I thought I’d never get better, so one day I asked Dr. Lindsay when I ran into him and he said, “you know, let me take a look- I do surgery for those pretty often and they usually work out well, but let’s get you in and get a look.”.So I made an appointment about a year ago, and he reviewed me, checked everything out, we tried some steroids and antibiotics (been there, done that, but surgery is always a last resort) and got a CT scan (which still cost WAY less than the imaging I had done previously with my high deductible insurance). He had the EXACT OPPOSITE recommendation- he thought I was a great candidate for surgery because of my age and otherwise good health.So, I pulled the trigger on it. The surgery went well, the recovery went exactly as he said it would, I did do my part by specifically following instructions but there’s no doubt in my mind Dr. Lindsay’s skill was largely responsible for how well this has gone.After surgery Doc says- “You’re going to love your new nose”. OMG the NEW nose! You cannot imagine what it is like to be able to breathe freely through your nose after TWENTY PLUS years of being obstructed. I really, absolutely cannot, with words, convey how big of a difference it is to be able to breathe again!Dr Lindsay’s staff has been excellent and accommodating, even when I was stressed out from surgery and being less polite than I could have been . I proudly take the time to write, edit and post this to give them the kudos for a job well done, that they so deserve. You guys rock. Thank YOU!

I highly recommend Dr.Lindsay! He’s the best! I’ve been seeing him now for almost 10 years and will not go to anyone else! He was the only one that gave me hope and an option when I suddenly lost my hearing and sense of balance on the left side of my body. I was terrified, very fragile, and going into a very depressed state of mind at that point in my life because there were no options available at the time. Also, due to the fact that they never found out what caused the sudden loss, so they said it was probably due to a virus! I thank God that he joined the practice when he did and Dr. Jude Liptak suggested I go to see him and talk with him about what he could possibly offer me . Dr.Lindsay explained the Baha Bone Anchored Implant for single-sided deafness and that he thought I would be a good Canidate for the surgery. I was of coarse his first one that he was doing since he joined the practice, but I felt comfortable and confident that it would he could perform the surgery abs all would go well and it did! It was the best thing and I’m still enjoying the benefit of being able to hear again on that side. He was my hero and still is and treats me the same way he did when I first met him!!If anyone reading this has gone through or is having any hearing problems, please consider going to see Dr.Lindsay as soon as you start to experience any symptoms of not hearing well or any other issues with your hearing!

I am very thankful for Dr. Lindsay and his staff. They are very professional,friendly and empathetic. I am always treated as one of his favorite patients.After my surgery, he was very informative, explained what was going to occur during and after the surgery. My post op care was excellent.I am encouraged to call the office and have always received same day appointments for urgent illnesses. Office staff very rude and immediately cancelled my appointment when I asked questions about deposit ! Never had to leave a deposit at any doctor visit before so yes I questioned someone asking for CC# without explaining . I will find another doctor before I have to deal with rude office staff before ever meeting them . Go somewhere else . Customer service is first !

Dr. Lindsey is awesome. I had been to 2 other doctors about my nose and ears. I was written off. Not by Dr. Lindsey. Answers is what I wanted and is what I got. He is brilliant, self assured, knows what he is doing, and DOES it.! Dont go anywhere else. He IS the very best.

Dr. Lindsay has given me the best experience when dealing with my sinus problems. Hes very thorough and gives all possible options to reach the solution you want to obtain. After having my sinus surgery I have to consider him my new best friend! I have had issues for years breathing and being congested. He completely drained my sinuses and removed my nasal polyps without any issues! So glad I came to see Dr. Lindsay and trusted him with my care. I can now go throughout the day without constantly blowing my nose and can breathe in the fresh air without any problems! I highly recommend him if you need to see an ENT.

Update: allergy shots have been successfully continuing for about 3 months now. No complaints. Efficient staff and timely. Highly recommend. Too early to say if shots are proving effective though. Will need to wait and see.

Review long overdue! Dr. Lindsay is simply amazing! I was introduced to Hampton Roads ENT-Allergy unfortunately through discovering (quite unexpectedly and extreme pain via my husband rushing me to Port Warwicks ER) that I had a ruptured eardrum. During my follow-up/initial examination, Dr. Lindsay asked me regarding one of the medications that I was currently taking (listed in my medical records). about any successful/unsuccessful outcomes and how it was affecting me. My husband & I looked at each other in amazement & were thoroughly impressed. As I began to tell him of various challenges/successes/results etc. with taking the medication, he shared & had great knowledge about the medication and could tell why it was prescribed. I cried on the spot (unusual for me, but occurring more often because of the length of my journey--smile) because he mentioned things that I have had to rehearse over and over during various doctors visits & sometimes painful, but much needed repetitive labs/testing, etc.over the years. I expressed my desire to find out solutions in order to finally receive some kind of diagnosis vs. basically taking medications. My faith, being health conscious and attempting to live life by eating a holistic/clean eating diet, while enjoying all things in moderation in my lifestyle has helped quite a bit, yet, my symptoms have increased over the years. Dr. Lindsay had extensive knowledge of my situation and gave relevant information for me to follow up on. My husband and I told him of my over 15 year journey of attempting to secure relief in any diagnosis of various challenges etc. As a result of his examination, the eardrum will be repaired, but even more rewarding is my gratefulness for his Dr. Lindsays genuine care, listening ear, medical expertise concerning my other challenges. I have been treated by Dr Lindsey for my allergies for a few years. I receive shots weekly from Jennifer in the Newport News office. She is a ray of sunshine every time I go into the office. I have suffered from an ear infection for 22 years. It was extremely painful and compromised a great deal of my life. I have been to literally 100s of doctors trying to find an answer to this issue with no solutions and just a few treatments here and there that would work short term. Then I met the most brilliant doctor on the planet! Dr. Fred Lindsay. He looked at my ear for a second and said I think I know what that is, lets see if I am right? He was! Now my ear doesnt hurt anymore at all and this has improved my life 10-fold. I was to the point of going to the Mayo or Johns Hopkins. Dr. Lindsay has an amazing energy about him as well! I very highly recommend him! The office staff is kind and professional as well, though I do prefer the Newport News location to the Hampton location.

Doctor himself is fine but the billing is awful. I came in for sinus pressure in my head and had an initial visit consultation done. He looked in my nose and asked some basic questions. Few weeks later I get a bill for over 750 dollars. Apparently I had a Nasal Endoscope procedure done on me and I had no idea. He simply asked to look in my nose which I put together with part of the visit. My regular doctor does not charge every time he uses a stethoscope on me or looks in my ears.Outrageous

Dr. Lindsay is the best! I recently went through a pretty scary illness with my ears, and he has been awesome through it all. I usually get nervous during procedures, but he explained everything step by step and it helped a lot. The nursing and admin staff are also all very pleasant and helpful.

Myself and my 2 daughters (7 years old and 10 years old) have been going to HR Allergy now for, 5 years. Both of my girls and I have a LOT of allergies. We are recieving allergy shots (at the NN office) by Jennifer and have been for years now. Jennifer is always in a great mood! She smiles and just lights up anyones mood. AND the staff are wonderful!!! They too, always greet us with a Hello and a warm smile. There are no words to express how wonderful they have been. Thank you for all yall do!

I was refused service here. I made an appointment, and 3 hours later I was contacted by the business office demanding paument prior to services being rendered. According to my insurance I am to pay 60.00 copay ( which i have) but this office said that i had to provide them with 150.00 prior to them billing my insurance company for services they dont even know Ill need. Im sick and now I have to find another ear nose & throat specialist. I am not sure why the emergency room even recommended this office. What a horrible experience. As an educator, i find this practice abominable!

Dr. Lindsey diagnosed my cancer when all other doctors brushed it off because I was young. I literally owe him my life, would recommend him to everyone. He IS a lot but he’ll find out what’s wrong with you!

I took my four year old boy there to have his ears cleaned as he wears hearing aids. Dr. Lindsay was so cool. Every other doctor had trouble as my boy doesnt take kindly to someone poking around in his ears. Dr. Lindsay calmly and decisively got the job done in only a few minutes and my boy didnt even flinch. I am proud of both of them. I would recommend him anytime.

I had an anaphylactic reaction to some of the allergens but they worked in an expeditious and efficient manner to ensure the situation did not worsen. They kept me comfortable during the ordeal and the treatments that were provided in a quick manner did improve the condition. I trust the practice a great deal, and resultantly plan to continue obtaining necessary services here. I also encourage other family, friends, and patients to also have their needs addressed here.

We took our newborn to see Dr. Lindsay on recommendation from our pediatrician and lactation consultant. We are having issues breastfeeding and her tongue is slightly tied. While very courteous and pleasant he informed my husband and I that breastfeeding is supposed to hurt.... to which I laughed and his nurse adamantly agreed. Overall I was disappointed with his professional opinion and will be seeking treatment elsewhere.

I moved to Virginia recently and was introduced to many things that my body didnt like. From my initial appointment to the allergy shots being administered I have been treated with care and communications have been top notch.

Dont go there my grandma went on Friday they asked her to be there at 830 they didnt call her back to a room until 10am. On top of that Dr. Lindsay didnt take my grandmas vital signs only blood pressure no temperature, no blood or urine test to determine what was wrong with my grandma. The nurse sprayed some liquid down her nostrils to numb it so the doctor can look down her throat he told her she had a polyp in her left nostril didnt say what would happen to my gmail with the polyp. On top of that he used the results of 2015 to say he was going to put her back on the allergy shots and that should help. This doctor is horrible and I wonder what my gmas bill will be I hope she cancel her appointment and seek another Ent. On top of that the allergy readings was done when he was with another practice and the doctor wasnt Dr. LINDSAY it was from another doctors diagnosis results. Not a good a thorough place another money trap... she could have throat cancer or anything but she would never know with this doctor.smh......where is all the good doctors at.

Having bad kidneys make everything difficult. Dr. Lindsay not only made me feel comfortable, I can breath.

I have suffered sinuses and not being able to breath freely from my nostrils pretty much all my life. I was referred to Dr. Lindsay by a friend, so I finally got enough nerve and schedule a appointment to see him. Well I had a CT scan and scope done showing I had deviated spectrum. At this point I’am debating whether to do the sinus surgery or not because of the horror stories. I’am not a mouth breather so to be able not to be able to breath out of my nose for a week for me was going to be devastating. Wow but to my surprise Dr. Lindsay was the best. He guided me through each step that was going to take place. All questions my hubby and I had he answered them sincerely. If you are looking to get sinus surgery done I would suggest going to see Dr. Lindsay he is hands on one of the best around with little to no swelling. I also was actually able to breath better after the surgery than before I went back. Thank you Dr. Lindsay I’am on my way to a heathier me.

Dr. Lindsay was referred to perform my surgery by my endocrinologist Dr.Tadassee. I wanted my endocrinologist to perform my surgery since I was comfortable with him treating me so I was a little skeptical at first. After meeting Dr. Lindsay and hearing his thoughts and ideas, I knew I was in good hands. He made sure I was comfortable about getting surgery and encouraged me to do my own research before deciding to go under the knife. After several office visits, we both came to a realization that surgery was my only next option. Deciding to have a thyroidectomy was the best decision I could’ve made. I feel great again and Dr. Lindsay did an excellent job on my incision. My skin keloids and Dr. Lindsay made sure he gave me an injection to prevent my incision from keloiding which I only knew existed due to his surgery scheduler. Not only is Dr. Lindsay great, his staff is also. I would definitely recommend Dr. Lindsay for your ENT needs!

DR. LINDSAY ROCKS!! Hes cool, compassionate, thorough, patient, and efficient - hes just got great energy all around.I had an ear emergency that needed prompt attention, and even though I was a new patient, the office staff got me in to see him within 48 hours. The uncomfortable and mildly painful procedure to fix my ear issue took all of 4 minutes for Dr. Lindsay to do - a record in my experience, no doubt, and a HUGE relief for me!Im betting hed be GREAT with kids - hes funny, approachable, personable, and talented/fast/efficient with the procedural ouchie stuff (Im 47-yrs-old, true, but I can be the biggest baby when it comes to certain kinds of pain....like ear pain!).FYI - Dr. Lindsays care of my issue gets 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆, but I have to take a star away from my overall review because of a 1-hr 56-min WAIT from my scheduled appointment time of 9:00am [note: we arrived at 08:30am SHARP to be sure that I was on time, checked-in, ready and waiting to be seen as Patient No. 1 that day, too.... :-( ].Anyway, at 10:56am, I finally got taken back to be seen, whereupon we waited another 13-mins. At 11:09am, Dr. Lindsay came in, did an awesome job and fixed me right up (as detailed above), and by 11:16am we were discharged, paid up, checked-out, and in the truck on our way back home.So, 2-1/2 hours wait (129 mins) for 3 mins of conversation and 4 mins of procedure.... Grrrr.... Im NOT saying Dr. Lindsay or my RELIEF from ear pain wasnt worth every second of the long wait - IT WAS!! Im just sharing a dont-be-surprised-if-appointments-run-late-here sort of advice/heads-up. Plan accordingly!

After years of almost non-stop sinus infections, I discovered Hampton Roads ENT-Allergy. From the time I began taking allergy shots, my sinus infections have been reduced to zero.Eventually, Dr. Lindsay performed surgery on the sinuses to correct a deviated septum and improve my breathing. Just horrendous. I asked for a Monday appointment, got off work early and was told that they actually scheduled it for Friday.

They took me in when I was having a Vertigo attack. Other offices told me it would be weeks. Great practice!
