These guys arent afraid to tell you that you dont need an expensive repair. Twice in five years (two different vehicles) theyve made a minor fix to resolve an issue that other places had assured me required a whole new sub-system. Another time they fixed a problem that other shops had given up on even locating the problem. Ive stopped taking my vehicles anywhere else.If you have a Toyota/Lexus, youd be foolish to take your vehicle anywhere else.

Several people highly recommended Byrd Automotive. I took my car in for what according to the manual and how my car drove, was the catalytic converter. They found the problem wasn’t the catalytic converter. As someone that was convinced it was the catalytic converter they could have said that’s what it was along with the real problem, they fixed only the problem and didn’t rip me off. So nice to have honesty and know they are addressing the true issue with your vehicle. My wifes car needed several repairs. A friend referred me to Byrd Automotive. Cameron was courteous, honest and friendly. I expected to be haggled toward a new transmission, etc and I expected the repairs to be close to or above $1000. What I got was the opposite. A little less than $500 and a couple days later, her car was riding like new. They did a great job, never tried to sell me on anything that wasnt needed and their pricing was fair. I would recommend anyone to Byrd Automotive.

Poor communication, I would not recommend servicing your vehicle at Byrd automotive. While the technicians seem knowledgeable. Having to call 3-5 times to get an update on a vehicle with phone calls not returned is not acceptable.

I feel it necessary to share my unfortunate experience with Byrd automotive.1965 Ford F100 that was serviced at Byrd Automotive, on October 24, 2018 I dropped my 1965 ford f100 for a complete review/ evaluation regarding the mechanical needs of the truck was requested. I elected to make all recommended repairs. The lack of contact during this time of repairs was unacceptable. Calling and leaving a message without receiving a call back for weeks at a time. The service was not completed until December 27, 2018, for over two months my vehicle was at Byrd automotive. The repair “completed” by Byrd automotive was to replace and reseal the exhaust manifold gasket. After driving the vehicle for approximately 40 minutes. A fire broke out in the engine compartment, luckily I was able to extinguish the fire with no injuries to myself or my passenger. I then requested that Byrd have the vehicle towed back to the shop for evaluation. Approximately one week later a technician at Byrd contacted me to offer their compensation, which was for me to cover the towing expenses, to purchase a new exhaust manifold, seals, ignition cords and any possibly a few other damaged parts. Byrd automotive offered to cover only the labor, although stated on the invoice the work is covered by “warranty of 24mo/24k miles, whichever comes first.” I was very eager to have my ford pickup truck worked on by Byrd automotive so this was very disappointing. I had the vehicle removed from Byrd automotive property at my own expense and will have all mechanical issues caused due to their poor workmanship/oversight corrected elsewhere at my own expense. I had heard good things about their honesty and workmanship. My experience has shown me the complete opposite. I have given Gene Byrd the owner multiple opportunities and ample time to rectify the situation. The most that has been offered to date is a refund for half the amount of the original work/ repairs. I had these guys check out my truck to make sure the dealership had done what they were supposed to do. We could have died driving home when we bought it and I didnt want to tempt fate a second time. Hayden went over and above, they checked it out, put it on a lift and assured me it was repaired. He even drove it home that night at my request. We had to pick it up when they were not open so he arranged for me to get my truck anyway. I have a family mechanic here in Mooresville Indiana who I LOVE and these guys are the mirror image!
