After speaking with him on the phone, and getting some information, we ended up having a custom computer built. It was actually more efficient instead of buying one comparable to what we had and Advanced Computing was very reasonably priced. I was extremely nervous, as Im not the most computer savvy, but he helped me through the process. James was extremely knowledgable, professional, and personable. My older 27-inch Mac was running very slow and I kept on getting the dreaded rainbow ball. I called to see if they could add more RAM memory for me. Service was absolutely great. Since I couldnt carry the Mac in myself, they offered a home visit and came the same day and put in new RAM but computer was still running very slow. They suggested a new hard drive, took my Mac with them and delivered it back to me the next day. Wow, the speed of the computer is fantastic now. Went in with an SSD drive that showed up unreadable. They were great to work with very professional. The SSD drive was trash but they went above and beyond, and oh yes they didnt charge me for the analysis of the drive. Will be back when we need help.

I took my Mac into another place in town because I had spilled some water on the keyboard and it quit working and was told after looking at it that it would need $600 in repairs. Took it to Advanced Computing for a second opinion where I found out the other place had put it back together incorrectly and they had it fixed in no time. Greatly appreciate the personable, HONEST service. Definitely highly recommend!!

Fixed my issue

Took my HP laptop to Best Buy/Geek Squad as it wouldnt boot up. Diagnosis was bad hard drive and was told they could not retrieve my data. Then took the laptop to Advanced Computing in Normal, within approx 24 hours received the good news that data could be retrieved. MADE MY DAY! They also gave me a very fair price to replace the hard drive, restore my data and set it up ready to use. I would recommend Advanced Computing in a heartbeat.

Advanced Computing is privately owned by James who is highly knowledge about his computers. He has degree in Computers and knows what he is talking about and will explain thoroughly to were you can understand what is wrong with your computer. James will give you several options and will call you in a timely manner on what needs to be done to fix the computer. As a student at Illinois State University, the tech zone and IT department told me that they have heard great things about Advanced Computing and are very reliable. Furthermore, they have also been in business for 17 years.

My 5 year old Mac was in desperate need for a new battery. Dropped it off at Advanced Computing. They had it back in a day and I thought what quick service. Then a few days later I noticed my Mac wasn’t holding charges any better then it was before I brought it in. In fact it was worse. So, I called back to the shop and told them my concerns and they were sooooo awesome. Immediately they requested I get it back in and my earliest convenience and they’d drop what they were doing to resolve the issue. Later that morning I dropped it off and in 2 hours they called back letting me know they had replaced the battery again. This time it worked great. Thank you so much for the great service and your quick response on correcting the issue.

I had a fantastic experience with advanced computing. Having a functioning laptop is imperative for my job, so when I woke up on a Monday morning to my screen not working, it was a big deal. I called everywhere in town and got time ranges from 1-3 weeks for repair, and prices all over the place. However, at AC I got my laptop repaired by close of business the same day I brought it in (That Monday). They treated me with the urgency I needed for my computer. On top of the great service, it was great to support a LOCAL business. They will take care of you.

After spending several days and stressful hours trying to recover data that was lost on our computer due to a Microsoft update and getting no solutions from the big box or large company computer stores, we were referred to Advance Computing by a friend and so thankful we were. I came to Advanced Computing because my computer had debris lodged in the fans. When returned, the dust was not cleaned but I was still charged $75.00 and my laptop frame was dented.

They were able to fix my MacBook in a timely fashion for a reasonable price.Ive brought other Macs in for repair and the service at Advanced Computing has always been outstanding. Recently I had a problem with a new to me MacBook**. I took it to a different phone repair/computer repair/gaming store in Bloomington just because the store had opened a new location and it was convenient. That didnt work out for me so well. After a couple of different trips to that store they gave up and said they couldnt get the part to repair my machine. I took the MacBook into Advanced Computing. They were able to fix me up in a timely fashion for a reasonable price.**My daughter: Dad, you want my old MacBook, I got a new one.Me: sure, that would be great.Daughter: by the way, I spilled mimosa on it and the keyboard is sticky.Me: sure I can get that fixed.Me: after the keyboard has been replaced, daughter, did the sound work after you dumped mimosa on it?Daughter: come to thing of it, the sound was getting a little flaky...The other repair shop said the MacBook needed a motherboard and they couldnt get one.Advanced Computing was able to fix the sound on the computer and its working fine now.

I used an off-brand power supply in my laptop and it snapped off inside the power port. This fella successfully removed the broken piece from the laptop and everything is in working order. A+++ would buy an off-brand power supply, have it snap off, then have the broken piece successfully removed again by this reliable company.
