Worst experience of my life and still haunts me to this day. I came in for a last minute hair do because Diamond Doll hair studio says they do not style short natural hair. They sent me here and told me she would call to make sure I was seen right away. When I arrived the owner acted like she didn’t want to do my hair after explaining what happened. She huffed and puffed but then had the shampoo girl get me started. I then sat in the owners chair and she noticed my scalp psoriasis and had another stylist come look at it. She told me that I need to tell stylist right away because it’s contagious and now she has to clean all her supplies. She styled my hair but yanked my hair and was aggressive with me out of anger that she had to clean. First off scalp psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that is not contagious. Second off my scalp is already extremely red and sensitive so her yanking my hair caused my head to be in pain all day for my friends baby shower. I ended up having to go home my head hurt so bad.

I went to this shop for the first time September 11, 2021. I had Google and reviewed shops specifically using keywords such as natural and saw this was the 2nd highest rated shop in the area, but had the soonest openings available so I booked an appointment. My appointment was for a shampoo/condition/and either silk press or curl styling option which I verbally request a trim in addition as that was the only reason I was having my hair pressed to begin. I also told the entire shop darn near, the shampoo girl, and the stylist that I had been natural for over 6 years following having to shave my entire head twice with balding clippers after repeated years of chemical and heat damage from processing my hair to be attractive in my former Caucasian partners eyes. I was audibly proud as I state how I graduate with my natural curls last May but knew my ends hadnt been trimmed in years and figured a small amount of heat after so long wouldnt be too harmful. During the shampooing the girl was very rough, but also very young so I didnt want to be overly critical, that and she was very personable and we had good conversation. I didnt initially mind the rough scrubbing so much but after she was literally washing my hair for 5 minutes my scalp began burning and I was grateful when she rinsed but it still sting when she add the conditioner which she left on significantly less time than the shampoo which looking back should have been a red flag. Fast forward to my hair being pressed, the scent being unpleasant but nothing too abnormal, then again its been years since I smelt my hair or anyones hair being pressed. The results were stunning and I paid the ask price and tip my stylist (Tish) and left a happy customer.. Fast forward a month of me sweating at work between patients, chasing my kids, and doing chores and my hair never frizzing, during this time. I am also in the 94 hour/30 credit process of renewing my RMA cert and running on 2-4 hours of sleep a night in addition to four college courses for nursing pre-requisites so Im not all there to note it or care at the time, I am just getting up and going out the door on repeat. Bare minimum. Again I wash my hair a little under a month later and as soon as the water hits my hair it goes completely straight and begins emitting a sulfur/egg smell. I washed it 4 times using Cantu Avocado shampoo and the scent was/IS still present (November 3,2021). I used the same brand and line conditioner also and the scent still lingers. My formerly beautiful and thick hair is now disgustingly stringy, thin, and straight with minimal product and I cannot style it at all and am afraid to. I am SO hurt and ANGRY! I messaged the owner on Facebook weeks ago who rudely stated it was likely just heat damage (as if thats better) and not relaxer added to the washing/conditioning product which I am positive it was and my hair was texlaxed against my knowledge and and my hairs current state is proof. I trusted these woman with my security, pride, and joy and they not only betrayed me, were disrespectful in response, and could have potentially caused an allergic reaction, she attempted to charge me for a treatment to fix the damage her staff caused and she likely was aware of the additive to the product. I say this to warn other naturalists from a similar fate and depression as I am literally in tears knowing I will likely have to shave my head again in the frigid cold of November before Christmas. I literally paid and tipped someone to ruin my beautiful hair.. Repulsive deed and God has your name and number ladies. Be blessed though.

I got my wife hair done here by Dina I believe is her name if not I apologize but what I do know is that she owes the place...And she colored and styled my wifes hair and it was fantastic. Warm place soft music friendly people. I would really recommend anybody who wants they hair colored in Norristown or any of the surrounding area should check this place out reasonable prices as well. Me on the other hand got my hair braided there yesterday by the stylist Denise man she did an awesome job,and Im tenderheaded and didnt feel the nag and pull of the braid. Good place good people. Oh also if you want to keep your money in the community ladies they do nails there as well and from what I can see the young lady that does the nails is very good. So go give them a chance it would be a good look for you trust me.

Wasn’t pleasant at all . I just moved into the area and been looking for a salon . She was very rude soon as I walked in . So i turned around and didn’t want to get my hair done. Won’t be getting my money .

Called to get an estimation on a hair style I wanted, and the staff there were very rude and offended by me asking if they’re familiar with African American hair. I feel like it’s a legitimate question especially since I just had a bad hair experience with another shop near there.Won’t be going here because the energy of this establishment seems off.

Love this Salon. I had my hair done by Tina today and I am extremely happy. The entire staff were very professional and nice. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. I did watch the other stylist as they were working on other clients and they all seemed to be doing an amazing job. I highly recommend this salon

Worst salon experience ever!! Scheduled an appointment at 12p for 4:30p. I arrived early at 3:30p. Showed stylist a pic of style I wanted, she advised me to go buy a certain type of hair. Did that. Stylist daughter half washed my hair and scratched my scalp. Felt uneasy then but, didn’t wanna over react. Sat in stylist chair for 1.5 hours and when she was done it looked like I had a football helmet on. I wanted to cry. I felt her jacking my hair up but, again didn’t wanna assume. If you specialize in certain styles “stick to those!!”. Stylist that advised me to get wrong hair purchased the hair I bought in the first place. Sat in chair another 1.5 hours hair still was a mess. I’ve been to salons more than a few times to know if it doesn’t feel right it’s not right. Stylist also accepted a drink from a neighbor while doing my hair. I wanted to scream! Talking about a “Hot Mess!” The lady in me paid her, kept my cool and learned a valuable lesson. If a place of business looks and feels unprofessional don’t support the business. Never Again!!!

Got my hair colored and styled by deana last year, and I loved it. This year I made an appointment online to get feed in braids with brii (who is a junior stylist) I got there and Bri was late, also eating a slice of pizza and telling me how she was drinking last night (which I could relate to, but ultimately it was an unprofessional conversation) deana warned me that she may not be able to do the “advanced” styles I wanted, which I understood. I just thought they should have said that on the website or required pictures of the style you want upon booking. Overall, it’s a nice place with nice people, just need to get better organized with certain things.
