I had a very bad experience with my Ducati Diavel. Ducati Customer Service wouldnt acknowledge that their BBS unit on the original bike must have been faulty and was causing the traction control and anti-lock brake systems to fail. The bike had less than 3,000 miles on it, but was out of warranty by about 1 year. They wouldnt work with me at all to do the right thing and fix it.BUT.... Garrett in the service department did a great job diagnosing the problem and ruling out all other possible problems. So I ended up replacing the part on my own, and when I encountered difficulty with setting the gear indicator, Garrett still walked me through it over the phone even though I didnt have them do the final fix! They showed a genuine interest in getting the problem solved and getting me back on the road.I spoke to the owner about getting out of the bike, and he had a very honest and candid discussion with me, which I really appreciate. Even though Ive since moved out of state, Im planning on getting into a BMW from Champion next. BMW has way better customer service! In summary, Ducati Customer Service sucks so Id recommend staying away. But Champion Customer Service made the best out of a bad situation.

This is a great shop. Ive been around gear heads since I was a young girl and had been riding scooters and small motorcycles since I was 8 with my neighbor boy who had them - then in my teens I received the best gift of my life - a 1981 Honda Twinstar CM200, from grandfather. This was up in Wisconsin back in the early 90s. When I was 20 years old the little bike started to cough after 5 years of hard beatings and almost no maintenance, and thanks to a boyfriend who claimed to be a mechanic (and obviously wasnt), the bikes throttle and carb was dismantled. I broke up with him, moved into a small cramped apartment and hauled the Twinstar to the back corner of my parents garage where it would sit for the next 17 years.I had a lot of hope and even more reservations about the state of the bike when it was brought to South Carolina last year. I didnt know what to expect when I brought it to Champion in the middle of August 2015. Id read some reviews online and many were pretty negative, but I didnt much like the other choices around for shops, so I figured Id throw a dart and keep my fingers crossed.Immediately, I was impressed by Ben in the service department. He was very kind and concise about what he could and could not tell me the day I dropped the bike off. As smaller female rider, you never know what to expect from mechanics, but he treated me as any other joe and within a few minutes I felt like I was hanging out with my neighbors back home. He gave great tips to restore the gas tank myself and I did, saving a lot of cash. In the end, it was Gerald who worked his magic bringing my 1981 Twinstar 200 back to life. It purrs like a little kitten and its as if 17 years just melted away. I looked at him and he said it all with a smile - What can I say...its a Honda!!To sum it up - people are going to trash this place on the internet, but if you really read between the lines, youll see why its important to take bad reviews about Champion with a grain of salt. Ive had lots of bikes between that first time with the Twinstar and the second-round today: Yamaha, Suzuki, Harley-Davidson. Ive seen lots of mechanics and operations, and everyone I talked to in this service department are great (Ben, Gerald, Chris). They are kind and really know what they are doing. They wont price gouge you but they will be honest with you. If they had not been able to bring that motor back to life, I still would have thought a few hundred bucks would be more than fair compensation to them for the time invested. They dont do this for free. They were willing to take this on, even though other reviewers have burned them when they didnt get instant results. Projects like this take a lot of time, patience and money; every true-soul biker I ever met seemed to get that more than the weekend warriors.Their price was MORE than fair for the services rendered. Most shops will treat you well if you do so in return, so check your ego, dont bring your bike to them and then try to tell them how to go about fixing it. If you knew what to do, youd be doing it...right?I will definitely recommend/return.Kari Jones
