I keep coming here to support my local business but they never have what I need. Today I went for various sizes of light bulbs. Only had 1. Also wanted wasp spray. Didnt have it. New staff at check out is nice but have no clue about merchandise. Lowes is looking better all the time. Sorry local business. 😔

Moodys Ace Hardware on Dorchester Road in North Charleston is a reliable hardware store that has an excellent selection of items that you need to get the job done. I have had many successful shopping trips here and have easily been able to find exactly what I was looking for. The staff here is very helpful and knowledgeable. They are well worth a visit for your hardware needs.

Had to return something I couldnt wind up using. Started to tell me about i couldnt because of the back wall where someone helped me get it from. I told them that they never made me aware of that. Plus it had no sign stating no returns on this wall. I guess I was supposed to be clairvoyant.The manager told me shell return it this time but not again . I told her have her employees tell people about the return policy and maybe put up a sign so people know. I told her it was my first time shopping there.

Extremely rude and unknowledgeable staff. While I applaud hiring young people to assist, it would be much better if they had even basic knowledge of the items that are for sale or tried to understand what the customer needs or is asking for. It would be much better if they said that they didnt know and found someone who does, rather than a blank stare followed by them handing you a totally unrelated item (e.g.; ask for a plumbing fitting and be handed an electrical receptacle). When I told him it wasnt even close, the response was Whatever.Goodbye Moodys, hello Lowes. I prefer local businesses, but not blatant rudeness.

I went to moodys ace hardware 6-25-2020 at 11:30 am. I have a 22inch murray push mower that I was having problems with the hinge rod staying in place with the torsion spring and discharge guard. I was frustrated prior to coming there because I went to a mower company that did not even help me or advise me what to do. Upon arriving at moodys I was greeted with courtesy and ask how can I be help. Julie one of the associates looked at my problem and figured out what I needed. She placed e ring clip 5/16 on hinge rod and she said that will do. She showed me how to put on and take off. Julie is a great person and does her job well along with the other staff members.Thank youDarryl Joiner

Quick stop. I come here often. They dont always have everything I need, but they are very friendly and willing to order what they dont have. The thing with a lot of home projects, is that you usually cant wait for it to come in. Id say 9 times out of 10, they have what I need.

Store went through a major re-organization few years ago. Before that they had a great variety of stuff but the prices were a little high. Now, the inventory, selection, and prices all improved, furthermore the assistance, which I don’t need but enjoy, is always pleasant.

Apparently it’s store policy not to take returns on tools, even when they are unused. They communicate this policy via a small sign facing away from the customer on the side of a cluttered counter. You’d think a small business like this would be more customer oriented.

Great store. Like was mentioned before, it isnt a cavernous big box store but it has everything you would want. The staff is always quite helpful and to the contrary to what was mentioned before in a post I actually had the owner help me and also deliver some larger orders that I could not fit in my truck to my house same day. I enjoy going there and also it has a good grilling selection and Rockwell lump which is the best stuff to use for my Big Green Egg. Well done Moodys Ace Hardware.

Excellent service

Very poor customer service. Went in to return an electrical device and was told that I needed paper receipt, even though I could prove purchase by showing my credit card statement. Return policy not clearly stated or as up to date as other stores I have dealt with. Recommend using the big box stores, more customer friendly and better return policies.

Every time Im in, I try to find what I need on my own because Im stubborn. When I cant find it, someone always notices and asks if I need help. They always know exactly where it is and theyre always so friendly.The BEST place to shop!

We visited the store the day before Dorian hit. We needed to get our propane tanks filled. Of couse we werent the only procrastinators! So we stood outside in the heat for about 30 minutes. The store owners kept checking on everyone to see if we needed anything. Met some really nice folks! Matter of fact, an older gentleman that worked at the store carried the tanks to the car since we had to park down the road! We offered to pay him for helping, of couse he refused. But it showed me, kindness does still exist!

Asked an associate for help and he just pointed to the other side of the store and said, I think its over there. The next one got aggravated when I asked if they had an alternative option to something they didnt have.

Best hardware store. Service is unbeatable. Small but stocked with anything you need which is great because who wants to walk around a big box for 20min for something that you can pick out in 5min. This is my new go to hardware store.

My boyfriend and I stopped by looking for a light switch and a case, which we found quickly but wanted to browse the store a bit before we checked out to see if we needed anything else. In the less than 5 minutes we were in the store, we had several different sales associates (5 or 6 times) ask us if we needed help each and every single time we walked to another aisle. It felt very overbearing and honestly was very obvious that they were keeping eyes on us, so to speak, which is extremely insulting and uncomfortable. We couldnt get out of there fast enough. Will NOT be returning.

Called ahead to see if they had compression fitting adapters in metric. They said no, but they have all sizes of standard measure. When I get there all they show me are brass fittings with variations in 1/8 at the smallest: Complete waste of time and a guy who I believe is the owner was very rude by scoffing at my needs when I asked about compression fittings.

Good Service, Great Staff

Their stihl service department is terrible. I dropped off my blower and trimmer for service and after a week they said they were ready. They told me that they cleaned the carburetor in my blower and got it to start and run which was a blaitant lie. The carb is still dirty on the outside and it still will not start. From what I can tell they only work that was done on my blower was an external cleaning. As for the trimmer they fixed the broken spark plug boot then tacked on another $50 for a new carburetor without calling and when I recived it the spark plug was only screwed in about half way. After a $140 + bill I only have one working tool. I will not be returning to their service department or this store.
