My hair stylist was really kind and friendly- but literally within one hour of getting home, my up-do fell apart. Like pins were falling out, and the braids she did became unraveled. I guess she just didn’t secure the hairstyle very well, but I paid $70 plus a $10 tip and my up-do lasted an hour- so I’m really unhappy. I could have just done my hair at home for free and it would have stayed in place longer and looked nicer. 😭

She has such a good energy, and her neck/arm/hand massage (while my face mask was sitting) literally gave me goosebumps. They are also incredibly sanitary and professional. Just go, okay?

I was a bit nervous at first since I haven’t had a facial in years, but she made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. She explained the process which I really appreciated, while still allowing me to relax and enjoy the service. She also gave an incredible massage and was very thorough throughout the service. My sister and I have been going to Leo Sosa for 40 years. We both absolutely love him! Leo is a master colorist and hairstylist. He listens to our thoughts and needs concerning our hair, and is a perfectionist in his work. We both look fabulous after our visits with Leo. He really is the best hairstylist that we have ever gone to. When I lived in New England, I would make sure that I came back to have Leo do my hair at least a few times a year. He is that good. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Great neighborhood salon with high quality service and nice attentive staff .Got my first ever brazilian bikini there with Barbara. She was super nice, very gentle & quick ! She took her time to explain things and put me at ease. Definitely going back there !

My first time here was for a hair cut. I’m growing out a pixie and it was at the awkward bob length where styling it wasn’t fun and being patient for all my layers to catch up to each other was annoying. I went in for a fresh cut to give my hair some shape and body and Ashley did an awesome job! She really took the time to understand what I wanted, my hair texture, how I typically style it, which way I part my hair, etc. She was super thorough and sweet! She asked several questions and before making any cuts that she thought would be better, she’d consider my reaction first because she knew that cutting too much length off was a no go for me. She also taught me a few techniques how to style my hair and Im finally happy with it after months of growing it out.Also, the salon was clean, staff was super friendly and accommodating, and the shampoo girl made me feel so pampered. Prices are reasonable as well. I’m definitely going back in the spring for color!

I got a manicure and pedicure with Paulina. She did a great job and was very pleasant. A bit pricey, but well worth the nice atmosphere and conversation. While waiting they offered water, which was a nice touch. I would recommend this salon for nail care and I will defiantly check them out for other services in the future.

Was given the wrong time for a wedding party appointment and ended up getting to the salon 10 minutes late. As I was heading over there my sister (the bride) told me 212 was a bit irritated by the fact that I was running late...#understatementMy stylist did not say hello, did not tell me her name, and said we couldnt discuss what to do with my hair since I was almost 15 minutes into my appointment. I ended up showing her the first picture I was able to pull up on my phone since it was not an option to talk about the two or three styles I was considering.She was agitated that she had to shampoo my hair and she rushed to get my hair curled. Only the ends were curled although I had asked for a curly style; a lot of people at the wedding asked me why I had straightened my hair (I have natural curls). The whole experience was so unpleasant that I left the salon in tears without looking at my hair at all, overwhelmed by how ugly these people were. Wait, sorry: I was actually crying for the last 20 minutes of my appointment, since by that point the whole experience had become very demeaning, but the stylist didnt bother asking about it (that would have cost her 30 seconds to two minutes). When I saw my hair later, the style looked okay albeit not at all like the picture I had showed the stylist, and some of my end-curls were fried and frizzy. I felt it was very bad treatment and very disappointing hair for $70. But at least my stylist was able to finish my hair before her next appointment?Honestly, I would have left as soon as the stylist said she didnt have time to discuss my hair with me, but I didnt want to upset any of my sisters preparation plans--not to mention, 212 would have made her pay the $70 regardless. Personally think I would have looked better if I had just styled my curls on my own. Obviously I would have looked much better (and would have been treated much better) if I had gone to my usual hair salon, Anthony Peter, down the street; unfortunately they are too small to do wedding parties. All that said, my sisters wedding was a beautiful event despite 212s gross attitude and the subpar hairstyle.

This is hands down the best place I have received a no chip manicure from! I am really rough on my nails and they are not very strong to begin with. Salon 212 was meticulous in their ways. This no chip manicure has lasted me 2 weeks and going strong still! Not a single chip/crack/etc, just my natural nail growth has occurred. Extremely pleased! I also had a wonderful time in the salon during my treatment which also included a pedicure. Highly recommend!

Beata has been giving me massages for a few years now. I was recommended through a friend and her expertise is spectacular! Receiving massages for the past 20 years for back/neck issues, nothing compares to how I feel when leaving the salon. Beata is my one and only masseuse.

I loved getting my haircuts here! They make you feel so special and everyone is so sweet! Not only was my haircut amazing, but the overall experience was too. Definitely going back for when I need my next trim!

I got a cut, color and a GK treatment done here by Marie and Savannah they did such a great job. Everyone is knowledgeable and the environment is very comfortable. Very satisfied and will most definitely be returning.

Mira is one of the best stylists in the studio. She can genuinely listen to your needs and wants and combine that with the reality of your hair to achieve that or as close to that hair style as possible. I dont use any hair product and she always shows me what my hair will do without product. The salon itself is of the highest caliber and quality and cleanliness. It really is an amazing place to get your hair cut and the staff is incredibly outgoing and attentive.

I get my brows done here and the esthetician does an excellent job. She never disappoints. I got my first haircut here last week and I was very happy with the results. I can tell staff is very knowledgeable. One thing that turns me off is that Salon 212 has a feeling of pretentiousness. I only get that sense from the front desk staff. I feel like they make it a privilege to get services at this salon. I rarely feel comfortable talking to the front desk people.

The salon atmosphere is amazing and everyone is so friendly. They work as a team and help each other out which I thought was amazing! I will be going back!

This review is for Beata - massage therapist at Salon 212. Beata is fantastic! I have been going to Beata for years to treat back and neck muscle issues . I always leave feeling better and this has helped my overall health and well being. Beata is very attentive and makes sure to use just the right amount of pressure (deep tissue) and also makes great recommendations on how to prevent reoccurances of issues that I may have had. Everyone at the salon is very professional things are kept neat and clean latest Styles and colors are studied and available. And can always have a relaxing day whether its getting a massage or having my calves massage during a pedicure or my hands massaged during a manicure or my scalp massage during a great hair wash!

This is the first salon I have ever returned to more than once in my life. And Ive been many times over the last three years spent in Oak Park. Deisy cuts my hair and always does an excellent job. She cuts my hair exactly how I ask her to, but is honest if my ideas wont translate well to my hair. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Ive also taken in my 2.5 year old daughter to have her hair cut by Deisy and she did SIGNIFICANTLY better than a different local childrens hair salon did previously. Ive also had a manicure done here for my wedding and it was very nice. Due to scheduling, I had to get it done several days ahead of time, but my nails still looked excellent for my big day!Again, you cant beat how friendly the people who work here are, on top of being very talented. I will continue to go back!
