Got a breakfast sandwich, a breakfast burrito, and a couple drinks. It wasnt all that special. Flavor was just okay, nothing spectacular. Nice atmosphere and a good number of tables to relax.

Fairgrounds is very very crowded and loud all the time. I like their cozy area around the fireplace. However, if you are coming here to work its important to know that none of the tables have outlets. Theres a thin uncomfortable bank of bar seating by the windows (4 seats total) with outlets.Id come here to catch up with friends and chat but its not ideal for someone needing to get work done.

Great place for a good cup of coffee and pastries in Oak park. Clean and friendly staff. Open for dine in.Coffee was made to perfection, not with whip cream like starbucks.

I looooove Fairgrounds. Im not a coffee drinker but I love their tea and food options. Great kid food options that my 5 year old loves as well. Theyve increased their food menu selection after paring it down for awhile. Glad to see the bagel lox is back :) Would love to see their hours extend past 3 pm again.

Good coffee, friendly staff, good vibes. Everything about this place is pleasant and friendly and inviting, I could go on and on but I wouldnt be saying anything new. Check it out for yourself and bring your smile because there have plenty to share.

Happy to see a GOOD independent coffee house on east Lake street! On this block there are four establishments that sell espresso drinks, and of the four, Fairgrounds has the best! One of the other four places that sells espresso drinks (across the street) is Starbucks. Starbucks is fine when it may be your only choice in a town, but weve got options here people! Support good local establishments so they stay please!Fairgrounds sells beans (same as they brew) including decaf, along with brewing accessories, and they serve food & pastries also. The food is decent, but I come here for the cappuccinos. Very rich, and they offer non-dairy alternatives. The Pacific Barista coconut milk they use foams awesome. They also serve coffee alternatives should coffee not be your thing. They offer counter service only, so grab a menu (by the line entry) and find a table and view your options prior to getting in line.Oh, and did I mention that the staff are all friendly? Big plus. The only downside is the lack parking. You can park in the lot at North Blvd & Oak Park Ave for free up to one hour. It may feel a little far in 30 degree weather, but Fairgrounds worth it!

The second time is definitely a charm!!! The menu has certainly been updated since the last time I visited. I tried the breakfast tacos without the radish pico and the peach blossom white tea and I looooved it. There’s so much to try and I’ll definitely be going back when the construction noise dies down abit.

Lots of coffee options, plenty of covered outdoor seating

I frequent Fairgrounds often for their coffee, which is high quality. However, when it comes to their food, it is hit or miss. The main complaint I have is that the orders seem to be wrong every other time I go there. I’ve ordered multiple food items that are missing ingredients and/or are prepared poorly, such as missing bacon or avocado on a sandwich (the avocado is $2.00 extra to add on...) or not enough filling or toppings in their breakfast tacos. When I get the correct order, the food is great! But, these mistakes happen too often to grant a review higher than two stars.... It’s very frustrating since there’s plenty of potential.

Do not order through Grubhub!!! Our deliver was super late(40 mins) and I know that’s on grubhub but when we finally got our food it was cold. Not luke warm. Cold. And I ordered the breakfast tacos and the tortillas were raw. They didn’t even heat them up in the microwave. They literally pulled them outta the bag put them into the container and threw the food on top and closed the container. My roommate ordered a bagel and it was cold stale and burnt. I ordered a 16 ounce latte and it was half empty and cold. We are not happy

Bad attitude from staff. My friend and I went on Saturday morning at around 9am and he just asked the worker why we couldnt sit at a table and one of the workers was very rude.The worker immediately got defensive when he was just asking a question, we loved coming to this place to study and had not experienced this before. Very bad customer service.

I always love the coffee. I tend to get one of the variety of coffees they have for pour over. It is very nice to see a coffee place that focus on that. The food is also great. The menu is limited, but I think that tends to help the quality.

Seems like a nice place. But I unfortunately did not have a very nice visit. I wanted to get an acai bowl somewhere and I saw they sold these, but did not check the prices on their menu. When the cashier rung it up and it came to be $13 and some change, I thought that was absurdly expensive for 12 oz of fruit in a cup. I quickly changed my order to the bacon and egg sandwich for $5 and some change. Not a bad deal, until I got home and there was no bacon on the sandwich.

The decor and vibe was great. The menu has unique and fun items. The food and coffee was pretty good. We ordered coffee and breakfast to go. When we got home we realized there was no Lox in our Lox and Bagel. We called the store. They said to return and they would give us a fresh order and refund the card. Which was very generous as we felt very inconvenienced. After driving all the way back and then home again to open up the box to find what I would consider to be a very small amount of lox was very disappointing. We order lox all over Chicago and have never seen such a small amount. I called back just to express my disappointment and felt very dismissed. I asked to speak to the manager and they wouldn’t put me on the phone with the manager. He just put me on hold and conveyed to me what the manager was telling him. Which was ‘that it was their standard amount of lox and there was nothing else they could do and that he needed to get off the phone because he had other things to do.’ I didn’t call to receive anything for free, but to express how disappointing the entire experience was for us, but they were not interested in hearing me out. I know Sunday was probably a busy day for them so I will go back and give them another shot, but our first experience was not what we had hoped for.

I only got the kale salad and a hot chocolate, but the hot chocolate is amazing... Not too hot, not too cold, with a chocolate truffle attached. There are swings by the coffee bar which adds to the casual ambiance in a fun way. Friendly staff.

The staff here are amazing and definitely working hard to provide an outstanding atmosphere in the heart of Oak Park. Major props to the entire staff for delivering normal and comfort under such stressful times in the world. Highly recommend.

Absolutely atrocious service! I ordered a simple iced latte and they gave me a hot drink. The worker reluctantly fixed the error after I’d asked.Disgusting bathroom, no toilet paper, paper towels and blood on the floors. When we informed the staff, they’re reply was “We know, we’re out of paper towels” For the duration of our time there nobody went to tend to the bathroom. Extremely unsanitary.Consistently out of food and drinks, went in on 3 separate occasions for Maple Pecan Latte and they didn’t have it any time.Overall would NOT recommend Fairgrounds. Mulata or Starbucks are much better options. Will not be returning.

Great spot to grab coffee, lunch, or stay and get some work done. I love their Fulton Market location, and just discovered a new one in Oak Park! The atmosphere is great for studying, its nice and light inside, and the music wasnt too loud.Service is great, guys are helpful and friendly. I had matcha, which I highly recommend. It tasted so smooth, rich with light sweetness, no bitterness at all!Overall great experience!

Coffee is great. Seating is unpleasant or unavailable despite the large space. The room mainly has tables for 4, often taken by one (studying) or two people. Unless they are willing to share their space, seating is difficult or uncomfortable. The large southern windows have no shades, so winter months half of the available seating faces directly into the sun. Good for grabbing a gourmet coffee to go, but I wouldn’t recommend for anything more than that.

A little pricey for what you get, but always delicious and an exceptional dining/coffee area.

We like some of the food options for delivery, but they mess up the order every single time. We are always missing items and get meat when we order vegetarian. It’s too expensive to be such a hassle. Also, their tacos are terrible.

Never been to a coffee shop that does flights of cold brew. To say the least all of the options we tried were worthy of having a full pour. Unique coffee shop that is well worth the visit. Try the funnel cake fries while youre here.

This place is located on the same block as three other coffee shops, and I was hopeful that it would be a great addition to the area. However, the coffee and food quality was abysmal. The coffee was flavorless and watered down, and the sandwich no better than 7-11 fair, all for the low price of $20. It is a shame too, because I was looking forward to it opening.I will likely give this place another shot in a few months once they figure things out. But as it stands right now I would not be coming back or recommending it to anyone.

Oak Park really needed a coffee spot like this one. Tired of the unfriendly Starbucks and the utterly mediocre other coffee shops in Oak Park. Fairgrounds is an excellent addition! friendly staff, spacious and well design interior, and what can I say, the pour-over coffee is the best in town, period! But the staff is the most unfriendliest in Chicago. Stuck up millennial punks

Beautiful place, but...Kale salad is very good, other vegan choices need some improvement. Avocado toast highly recommended by barista is not acceptable for the price and quality. Coffee is good, way more expensive than other choices in the neighborhood.

Nice looking place but there are better options in Oak Park like Mulatta. The hot chocolate was so watered down that it was tasteless. They served in paper cups for dining in. This place is all glitz not enough substance.

Nice cafe, but rude staff. The space is very ascetically pleasing and has lots of seating. The products they sell are excellent and the cafe is a place I would enjoying hanging out at for a few hours. It was crowded when I visited Sunday afternoon, but I was able to find a table easily. However the women taking my order was extremely pretentious when it came to coffee and belittled me as I order. Then when my drink was ready it wasnt the size I had paid for, when I brought this up the staff member gave me a great deal of attitude. I would classify the staff as unwelcoming and incompetent. There are many other nice local coffee shops in Oak Park, Id recommend Wise cup or Mulata for a better experience.

Really fun spot with playful swings at the end of the coffee bar and really quality coffee. It’s not a very warm environment to spend a long time in, often cold due to the doors and the hard cement floors.

Very nice respite in the morning. They need to start using security codes on the bathrooms however as homeless people from Starbucks are starting to find them.

This is the best place since blue max. Maybe the owner can reach out to the old owner of blue max for the scone recipe!

Everything Ive had here is terrific and the staff is friendly and professional.

Initially after my first visit I would have given this establishment five stars but after the grand opening “show” the reality has set in. There was a simple order error and instead of just making the correction I was confronted with such rude service by waitstaff and manager. I attempted to contact Fairgrounds corporate via phone, their website and by email. I have received no response almost four days later.
