Love the store... the staff is usually ALWAYS on point but they do have one quirky staff member that can be a bit grumpy at times. Overall... by far they are 99.2% GREAT FOLKS! We all have room for improvement. Love them! You gotta go!

This location is great! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and makes you feel good about starting a new project. They have a good range of supplies and multiple options for many solutions, such as having both soft molding clay and plaster a paris for casting. Highly recommended for both serious and amateur aspiring artists. Also, this being the bay area, they have an extensive selection of non toxic body paint. So you know, you can burning man it up here too.

Used to work there. They have a wide variety but the last time I visited, they didnt have 3 things I needed (balsa, acrylic paint sets and some glue). They do however offer foamboard and cardboard cutting which is always awesome.

Staff had a good system for customers to wait outside and keep a 10 person capacity. If customers waited along time, they were apologetic. The store is organized and for the most part stalked well.

Good art store, staff is pretty knowledgeable about anything art related. I just picked up some empty molotow markers and a full one and a new sketch pad. Definitely will be coming back especially since they are down the street and also carry refill paint there too!

Parking can be difficult so its best to bike or park down the street. Sometimes I get a condescending vibe because Im really clueless about art supplies, but the employees always help me find what I need. I love browsing around and always end buying more than I intended to!

During covid 19, I decided to purchase from my local art store instead of online. The person who helped me on the phone, Megan, was very helpful and answered my first round of emails. She asked if I had a Blick Card, which I told her no, but she could sign me up. I said Sure! I received my order pretty fast and everything came safe. But there was no receipt - ok, they probably forgot.Fast forward to now, I was curious about the Blick Card and found out there is also a student discount. I emailed again asking if I could utilize the discount since Im Cal State Student, they replied asking for my student ID. I replied but didnt hear back or receive any other instructions.A week later, I asked if they were still delivering and if certain items were in stock.They never replied - it seems like they didnt want to give me a student discount or allow me to apply for the blickcard.Also, I calculated my first order and it doesnt seem to add up to the pricing online. I really wanted to support a local business but Ill stuck to ordering online or Amazon.

Absolutely love this place. Every possible art supply you might need is here. I had so much fun just wandering around the store. The help is knowledgeable and very polite. I should go every pay day. They even had chalk in a pencil, it is an awesome store.

I have been here many times. I came recently to get a few permanent markers for a project at work. They always acknowledge you at the door and ask if you need help finding anything. So nice! This store is a great resource!

I love a good art store. This is a good art store. Clay work, painting, pens and pencils. Traditional drafting supplies are the best here! Across from the art collage, so it has to be good!

Overall i always love going to Blick stores.Only negative here is the size of the store, but they do carry most standard materials, great selections of paints and papers

Always helpful and knowledgeable. Though not a very large store, they do have a good variety of art supplies for students and semi professionals. They also have a nice selection of art projects and materials for children too.

It has alot of really good stuff, parking hard to find. But you really need to know what you want cause theres so much to choose from.

I ordered watercolor brushes, paints, boards and a desk easel for my dad who is in a 24-hour care home. He loved them ! Said they were top notch. I did all of this online and had them delivered to him several states away from me.

Fantastic help. Ive always had the staff take time to help me find what I need, and help problem solve a project as if it were their own. A little smaller than some art stores, but Ive almost always found what Im looking for.

I got archi classes and i have list of things i need. Im glad that one of the staff there helped me get through it. She voluntarily asked for my list and i just followed her as she gets things that i need. The staffs are also nice and considerate. They know that art materials are pricey so they would suggest free blick cards so u can get discounted.

No complaints. Prices can be skewed high compared to other sources. Joining their membership will save you a few bucks.

I go to California college of the arts and they dont have a lot of supplies you need for my projects sometimes. However the staff us nice an help a lot with out asking. All you have to do is look confused an they will come to the rescue

Some of the staff were very helpful! When I went to check out my items, I had to keep repeating how to spell my last name (I didnt have my blick card) and I could tell that the person was getting annoyed with me.

The place has nice music, good for background noise. Lots of different brands of paint, sketchbooks, and drawing materials.

This is for the big Blick in Oakland.I absolutely love this store. The certainly do not skimp on the art supplies. They have basically everything you could ever need. I do a bit of silkscreening and they got what I need. I do a bit of ceramics and they got what I need. I do a whole lot of drawing and painting, and they got a whole lot of what I do and dont need.In fact, that is the only problem. Every time I go here I find things that I cannot resist buying and that I do absolutely not need.Oh well though, better an art supply addiction than a shoe addiction.
