This is a very different kind of store. The first item is free. They are open on Sundays: noon to three. I went there yesterday and the items available to take were on the outside of the building. There were plants on sale inside the building. Jocelyn, the owner, said I could go in and in tothe plant area. There was a nice display of plants. I ended up getting a bouquet/cluster of air plants. She had some that were flowering, and her assistant showed me where my plant was getting ready to flower, and how to take care of it.This is a fun place to check out. I will definitely come here again.

Someone recomended Free Oakland to me 3 weeks ago. On this particular day i was determined to visit. I went more than 15 miles out of my way searching for what i needed and Free Oakland was my last resort for the day; BUT 1st time visiting.Omg what a find in deed, thank you Free Oakland Up!! Great place for unexpected and *free* finds. Go for one of the plant fundraisers if you need plants! Healthy, mature, pretty plants for reasonable amounts *swoon*

Best Thrift Store ever! Except for a few fundraising items and the succulents, everything is FREE! But you can only take one piece per visit. Oh, the torture of having to make a choice. You can always come back tomorrow for another piece. Or create your own work of art with the help of one of the artists in residence. Leave a donation on your way out to keep this gem open.

I walked in here and the place was amazing. It has really great stuff 1 item for free, and I got a toy story Lazer disc just for collectors purpose. Service were great too YEE!
