This place has absolutely amazing customer service!I recently bought a used Audi from them, and not long after I was driving it, there was a weird noise coming from the front of the car. When I took it in, it turns out it was a major mechanical issue. Unfortunately, I was going to be out of town when I needed for it to be fixed, and I was also on a time crunch because I had to leave for college soon. The dealership couldnt fix this issue and said it had to be taken to a different auto shop. Since it was also an issue that wasnt noticed when the car was initially inspected by the dealership, not only did they offer to fix it for free, but they also offered to have one of their employees take it down to the shop for me. By the time I was home from my trip, my car was completely fixed.I wanted to mention how helpful Dennis was (the salesman who sold me my car, which I love!), as well as Charlie, who is in charge of customer service.The Volkswagen of Oakland has extremely helpful staff and incredible customer service! I highly recommend buying a car from their dealership!

Ill forever remember this place as the first dealership I went to and got my very first car at. I bought a 2018 Volkswagen Golf there, the staff are all really friendly and offered to let me test drive too. I was already researching into the used cars they had here and knew I wanted this one, the process was very smooth and quick. I managed to come out with a decent deal and a VERY, VERRY nice car, thank you Volkswagen!

Theyre super helpful until youve bought a car. It drops off quite a bit after that. Shipped the wrong # of license plates, no follow-up on part upgrades, etc.The parts department stays responsive, but theyre pretty pricey. Ex: $260 for a plastic mirror cover and signal. Make service appointments early, you will wait a week or so.

I recently had a recall on my 2017 Volkswagen Jetta and I went here to get serviced (safety recall) I bought the car to them on Friday July 30 around 9am, my car was perfectly fine. They called around 3pm stating the car was ready for pick up. 15 mins after that my engine light was on and told them and they fixed that. After I tried to turn on my radio and my radio was not coming on nor was my backup camera. I then bought the car back and told them my radio wasn’t working and I tried to restart it multiple times. My service advisor Frank Torres was very unprofessional and very rude to me, and basically told me the recall they did had nothing to do with my radio. I then told him well something went wrong for my radio not to work. I then called my grandma so she can take care of it for me because I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me because I was young. Long story short they told me I needed a brand new radio but it wasn’t on my cost it was on theirs. Noe the technician was very rude as well. This place has very horrible customer service it’s terrible. I really appreciate Mitch for helping me out and giving me the best service he can! I then spoke with Charles and he ordered a new radio and told me to bring the car in so it can get fixed which is today (august 3 ) I then got the car back with the new radio they installed but it was still have difficulties connecting to my phone🤦🏽‍♀️. I didn’t expect all these road blocks simply coming in for my recall.

Omar helped me immensely within trying to find the perfect car for me, walking me through all of my options within leasing or buying, and he even took time to call auto insurances with me to make sure I was getting the best deal. We leased a 1st Edition ID.4 yesterday. Their EV Specialist, Athena deftly guided us through the delivery of the ID.4 after our reservation to our pick up. She kept us updated, scheduled our test drive and was very responsive. Joey and Sid walked us through the set up of EA accounts and the finance options. No hard sells, warm and community grounded professionalism from all three.

The experience at Volkswagen of Oakland overall was great Diego was amazing and the start of the finance manager that I worked with Chris to replace the absolute nightmare of a human being to walk this earth I didn’t catch his name but he’s a young guy and they stuck me with him and he was so awesome all that I had to leave the room in tears and go find the receptionist and ask her if I could be put with someone else because he was so awful I am yeah ladies beware don’t get stuck with that guy I would ask for Chris the finance manager manager personally to work with finishing up any on your financing the car if you just find a car out right definitely work with Chris first is anyone else there in finance I don’t know what that guys problem was but he probably needs to find another line of work because he does not do well with women. Overall it went great expect to spend at least 1 to 3 hours if you’re paying cash or longer if you’re going to finance the car location is great I’m great selection of cars really nice on but yeah I would definitely go there again and not work that with the other finance guy definitely work with Chris.

This dealer purchased and took possession of my car on March 29th 21, now (June 3rd) more than two months later and I still havent been paid, despite the fact that it appears as if theyve already sold the car to a new owner (I received notice from the manufacturer that a new owner is trying to register the car for internet /app connectivity)Dealer isnt responding to email or returning phones calls as of the time Im writing thisEdit: I was FINALLY paid on July 23rd. More than 4 months after they took possession, and two months after they sold it (May 23rd) - NEVER AGAIN

Came in yesterday to trade in my egolf. Looked at the ID.4 which was sweet but decided to get the 2022 Taos instead. Had bought my egolf here from Cristian over 2 years ago and he was just as nice and patient as the first time. Ive bought a lot of cars over the years and this is a great family-owned dealership that will go out of their way to make you happy. Thats hard to find these days. And you certainly cant get that from buying a car online :-).

For the service part, they just want to make money instead of helping you solve the car’s problems. My car’s fuse for 12V DC power is blown out. They asked me do the $200 OBD Test before replacing the broken fuse. I don’t know what useful information they could obtain regarding the 12V power through OBD test. At other dealer, they helped me solve the problem very quickly.

My partner was trying to buy a new car and worked out a great price when all of a sudden they told her they made a mistake and now it was $2K more. Then Chelsea stepped in and things spiraled downhill to her getting a $100 deposit just to make her wait there for the next opening with finance after she was trying to leave and schedule a appointment after hours of waiting. They then walked another couple in instead of her and Chelsea still tried to hold her hostage. She left and still tried to work out a deal on the phone which ended with Chelsea telling her they wasted time and didnt want her business and hung up!

The service and repair shop responded immediately to my need to get my Tiguan repaired after a window smashing the previous evening. I brought my vehicle in at 7 a.m. and it was ready at 3 p.m. looking as good as new!

Nothing worse than being cheated with a smile. I’ve debated whether to write this review or just eat the loss and move on, which is still all the remedy that is available to us, but I really feel as though I owe it to other buyers to give them fair warning.We purchased a certified used Atlas from VW of Oakland a few weeks ago. The sales staff was perfectly friendly and the transaction went smoothly enough. Almost immediately we realized something was going on with the car though. The proximity sensors seems to be overly sensitive and went off constantly, which we chalked up to settings and not being familiar with a vehicle that “wired up.” We drove the car straight home and parked it in the driveway. I took a photo and texted my oldest son a pic of the new car. And it sat for a few days because we don’t drive much. The next time I walked out the garage, I saw the damage. Iwent back to the photo I had taken to send to my son, and noticed that the damage was actually there when we brought the car home. Actually pretty discrete, but extensive nonetheless. The lower trim and proximity sensors are damaged and even the brand new VW of Oakland license cover is damaged (they told us at the dealership at one point were just putting your new plates on!), which is why I really think it happened on the lot between the time we test drove and the time we left. I’d be willing to bet if I spent enough time looking I could find where it happened on the lot and find the little piece of trim that’s now missing and fit it right back.So, either VW of Oakland certified and sold a car with thousands of dollars worth of system damage, or between the time we test drove it and drove it off the lot, the staff who detailed and put the plates on damaged it. It really doesn’t matter, because either way we were swindled into purchasing a car with thousands of dollars worth of damage, and not just cosmetic. Either way not being upfront about the damage was dishonest. And of course, California doesn’t have a grace period so the second we drove the car off the lot, we were stuck with it, as the finance guy made all too clear, several times, when I was unawares signing the papers. I realize you should never trust used car sales people, and I’ve really learned that the hard way.So to anyone thinking of buying a certified used car because you think it guarantees you don’t end up driving a money pit off the lot, skip VW of Oakland and go somewhere with a grace period built in. Walk around the car before you test drive it, and do it again before you drive it off the lot. Otherwise you could end up with what you think is service with a smile, but is really a great deal of your money’s worth of dishonesty.Shameful.

It was my first time here and the overall experience was great and pleasant! I was able to get my car maintenance report ahead through an online portal and the sales (or maybe the receptionist) was able to again explain the results to me without me asking which I have never received from any other dealers I have been to. By law they had to honor the advertised price but didnt want to do business with them after they told me that. Classic bait and switch. I left immediately. Will never come here again. Bought the same model car at hayward vw. Paid $29k but atleast I wasnt lied to

The rudest service i received from the female agent just today. I walked in and explained what I needed with the exact stock#s. she did not let me finish my sentence and put up a time out hand gesture saying l should first introduce myself? I would not let someone with an attitude and mannerism like that take the commission off of the car purchase I would be making. Never going back there if I have to deal with a salesperson with an attitude when I have a large pool of extremely professional sales people around to help out in anyway.

I just completed my survey for the Volkswagen I recently purchased but there was nowhere for me to provide written feedback on the dealer or salesperson I purchased my vehicle through. The dealership and team that assisted me through the purchase process were by far the most important part of my experience.The reason I purchased my 2019 Golf was because I had been in a car accident and my 2017 Golf was declared totaled. I was hit by a GMC Terrain and was able to walk away with a few bruises and shoulder pain. After the accident I didn’t even consider buying a different car, I went to three dealerships to look at the Volkswagen Golfs that were available. After visiting the Walnut Creek, Newark and Oakland and looking at a variety of new and used cars I was sad and felt defeated. After going back and forth on my budget I decided to return to the Oakland dealership and test my luck on negotiating the price for a used vehicle. On my second trip to the Oakland dealership I met Nacho (Ignacio) who completely changed the car buying experience for my family and I. The entire team at the Oakland dealership was truly incredible and treated my entire family with such kindness and respect and I really need to highlight that a million times over. Nacho made the impossible happen for me and was incredible the entire process! I was able to get to a price that worked for both myself and the dealership for the model and color of car I actually really wanted. Nacho got me a car from another dealership just because it was the color I really wanted when they already had a golf onsite. I worked with Joey over the phone to deliver a car to the LA area. Joey was friendly and easy to work with. He did a full walk around video of the car since I never saw the vehicle in person. He showed any minor flaws on the exterior. Upon delivery I noticed multiple deep scratches on the interior of the trunk that were not shown, but getting that replaced is easy enough. I highly recommend going to Volkswagen of Oakland if you are in the need of finding a car. Yesterday I went in to look at a certified suv. I did drive and hr and half out of the way to go look at this suv because right when they opened at 9am Omar from sales called and FaceTimed me and showed me all the specs that this car had. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. When we got there he had the car pulled up to the front and it ready to go for us to test drive it right away. I ended up loving the car and he made it a very easy process. When it came to financing he found me the best rate and I was super stoked.Chris the finance manager came over and once again I was very impressed. They both were not pushy or annoying ( you know what Im talking about, when it comes to car sales) they just wanted you to be educated with the service plans and terms. Chris helped me stay with the price point that I could afford and I am so great full. I went into this dealership frustrated because I had a prior bad experience with Ford ( having to deal with a lemon of a car just after 30 days of buying it)Chris and Omar made the buying experience happy again and just by that I will always recommend Volkswagen of Oakland!!! Do not buy a car here. They will lie to your face about pricing. They will repeatedly ask if youre satisfied, but if you give an honest answer of no, they will do nothing to help you. I dont recommend dealing with them at all if you can avoid it, and there are other VWs in the bay so you can avoid it.

Very professional. This is the authorized VW shop so its not cheap. I am doing some very expense maintenance. Charlie, my VW rep, is candid with the estimates and tries to keep the costs under control. They also do some little things that are super helpful like providing Uber lifts and loaner cars.

We had called Joey at Volkswagen of Oakland to make sure that the car we were interested in was there. He quickly made sure and confirmed that it was. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and felt at ease with the car leasing process. Joey was on top of it to say the least! We did not have a set appointment but were in communication via email. We were greet by Cristian Marquez with a smile( behind his mask). He told us he was waiting for an appointment and he will help us until 1 of his co-workers was available to help us. He asked what car we were interested in and we told him either Atlas or Atlas Cross Sport. They had both in the show room asked if we would like to take them for a test drive. We return after test drive talk numbers and BAM! we have a new 2021 Atlas. Everyone that was working yesterday was friendly and helpful. I went in to get a replacement for my fix a flat cartridge. The original one fit nicely in the case that came with the car. The replacement did not work out as far as fitting in the same case. Christian on sales floor replaced it with the proper one.

They have a nice system in place here and it shows in the consistency of the customer experience. I only take my Tiguan here for servicing. There is no reason to shop around as well as the prices are reasonable for the level of service you get.

The team at Volkswagen was fantastic. I’d gone in a few years ago for a test drive and remembered how well I was treated. After having a bad experience at another dealer, I decided to return. Joey was incredible, getting ahold of the specific car I wanted and driving it over from another dealership. 5 stars!

Update (2/12/2019):After posting this review, the dealership got in touch with me, and offered to fix the rain-stained headliner to the best of their ability by deep cleaning it, and it turned out pretty well. The stains are barely visible.Bumping up from one to three stars, because they ended up going the extra mile to fix the damage — even if the roof shouldnt have leaked in the first place.---------------------Original review:After six months, its time for an honest review: Be very careful when dealing with Volkswagen of Oakland!I bought a used (certified pre-owned) 2015 Golf Sportwagen from them in August 2018. What certified pre-owned means is that they are supposed to have gone over the car with a 100+ point inspection, checking every detail, changing all the fluids, and making sure that the car is ready to go in all respects.First: When negotiating the final price of the car, the floor sales manager and I reached an agreed upon price, shook hands on it, and he said to me: congratulations on your new car. He then went to the back office to write up the paperwork, and came back five minutes later, apologizing but saying that he couldnt actually honor the agreed upon price, and that he felt bad about going back on the handshake, but that he needed a couple of thousand dollars more, or for me to sign up for VWs in-house car financing, in order for him to give me the deal. We ended up working it out with a compromise, but having the sales manager renege on a done handshake deal left an initial bad taste.And when I finally went to sign the papers, I discovered that he had tacked on an additional $50 to our new final out the door price. Just, why?Second: After returning to the dealership to pick up the car that I had purchased the day before, I noticed a faint but persistent tapping noise while driving the car down the block. I returned immediately, and had the salesman take the car for a drive as well -- he said that he couldnt hear anything out of the ordinary. I put my concerns aside and drove home, hoping that the quiet tapping would resolve itself. I didnt drive the car again until that weekend, when the tapping appeared louder, and soon thereafter, the tire pressure sensor started going off. Refilling the tire, I saw that there was a metal bolt punctured through the tire, causing a slow leak, and the metal tapping on the road with every revolution. Since I was intending to replace the tires fairly soon anyway (as they were from 2015, and had seen some weather), I didnt bother to fight the dealership about it, and just replaced the tires at Dons. But that was strike two.2.5: Its minor, but a month after purchasing the car, I checked the oil and the coolant -- just to take a look. Both were at the bottom of their acceptable range, and the oil was real dirty. I topped them back up myself with fancy German oil and coolant off Amazon ... But I was left asking myself -- Did the dealership do the 100+ point inspection and change the fluids, or didnt they?Third: In October, the rains started in earnest. And guess what? The sunroof leaks. It leaks in the front. It leaks in the back. Water dripped down the seatbelt column, soaked the headliner, and stained it. I took it in to the service department to get it fixed, and they said that they had. But lo and behold, with the next rainstorm, it was still leaking in the rear. Volkswagen of Oakland says that they wont replace the stained headliner because the drain pipes were clogged with gunk, not broken, which apparently excludes the damage from coverage under the CPO warranty. Strike three.Im planning on picking the car up again tomorrow, and I still dont know if the roof actually keeps the rain out this time. But I do know that this dealerships certified pre-owned cars shouldnt give you peace of mind. My car had a bolt through the tire, a roof that leaked from all sides, and low oil -- all from a deal that was walked back after a handshake.Watch your back!

Dont take your car here. I took my VW Rabbit in because it was driving a little shaky and I wanted to make sure everything was OK. They told me that my car was essentially totaled and that my best option was to give it to them for a pittance or they could discount me on one of their used autos. I nearly agreed but I decided I wanted a second opinion. The mechanic I took it to told me that from what he could tell there was NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AT ALL and, furthermore, a timing belt that THEY HAD REPLACED not a month or two before was looking worn out and in danger of snapping. So they tried to screw me out of my car and used shoddy parts to fix it previously. NEVER GO TO VW OF OAKLAND.

Poor customer service. Overpriced parts and not helpful. Bad communication. Bad car selection.Overall just avoid this place.

We initially were customers with VW Hayward but decided to check out VW Oakland since it was closer to us and we’re so glad we did. Athena, Joey, and Sid were all amazing and super helpful throughout the entire process. It took us about 3 hours total and we got into a brand new SUV (Tiguan). Joey was very knowledgeable and friendly as well. They all made the car buying process quick and easy- we will be sure to recommend them!

Woody is a great salesperson who has an easygoing attitude and we did not feel pressured at all. He was great about going back to his manager to get the price that was right for us. The whole staff was accommodating and we had a great experience overall.

Looking for a vehicle can be a pretty stressful experience. I was very specific about what I wanted. At some dealerships I was dismissed quickly once they realized I was holding out for exactly what I wanted. That didnt happen here. Jessie listened to what I wanted and kept me updated when new vehicles came in. I ended up buying from somewhere else because my dream car popped up at another dealer, but I definitely would have loved to buy here. Next time I am in the market for another car VW of Oakland will be my first stop. Thanks Jessie!
