This place is so affordable for meat. I always come here when I want to do pulled pork. $17 for 5lbs. Can’t beat that

I live in Sacramento, CA, I come down about once a month to grab a few things. This is the only one I truly like so far. The only peeve I have is that they dont where gloves but, if you tell Sam to have the workers where gloves, he is very good about having them put gloves on and he always gives me something for kindness. I also like that he remembers faces.

The meat is fresh & affordable. Sam is super friendly & his team is fast & accommodating.

One of the cashiers are super rude and tries to change the price of different items in the store. His brother Mohammed and any other cashier gives me the right price for anything in the store, but this particular individual whos name I do not know like to jack-up the price of anything. For example I asked Mohammed Tuesday how much the Brisk beverage is and he said $1.75, his brother on the other hand, I asked him today because I had forgotten and he said $2.25. I kinda hesitated on paying because I the price was a little too high, and so on my way to put it back I asked another employee and he said $1.75 as well. I dont know if he was trying to get a raise by upping the price but that not cool to try and finesse people for their hard earned money.

It has everything a good neighborhood convenience market should have, potato chips, canned goods, ketchup, you name it. it has meat market as well in the back. the prices at the meat market are high, but thats somewhat to be expected from a mom and pops. the store itself is also high for some items bc again its a small store. but if you need something they have it. the store is clean, and the shelves are stocked. its a medium sized mom and pops. theres no parking lot.

Island mkt was a good thing, i will recommend the store to all my friends & family as well 😃😄

I been shopping at island market for a very long time when the asians owned it. Sam is still there working behind the meat counter they have a variety of meat packages .they have bags of shrimp. They make deli sandwiches also. Island market has always been convienant for the neighborhood if you dont live anywhere near island market the ac transit bus # 14 comes and goes every 15 minutes except weeknds.
