My favorite place while visiting Oakland! Location has plenty of parking around but I did see and hear of some break ins so hide valuables! Beer selections made you want to try all of them! The flight of beers was a great idea! Plenty of places to sit and hangout. The upstairs section was my favorite! So glad I stopped by here before heading to the A’s game!
AMAZING beer, eloquent location. Have a good dumplings place within the site. Indoor and outdoor seating, everything speaks of quality.
Cool place, can art is rad. Beer is hit or miss. Ive had a ton of beers from here that really hit the spot and were some of my favs... And Ive had other experiences were every IPA I tried was mediocre. Its worth checking out, make sure you go upstairs, its a really cool, chill space to have a beer.
This is a brand new place in the Oakland jack London area. Very cool awesome design. All the beers are served very clean and proper. Nothing is over the top, just solid. We met a few of the main people there and they were all really nice. Super chill vibe. I would totally go back. They are focused on making sure everything is true to the old school, all the options are very tasty and refreshing.
Great spot for a beer. Decent seating options inside, the booths seat a lot of people and have surprisingly good acoustics. Some outside seating available as well. Has some merch available, especially nice glassware. Small selection of games. Pop up kitchen inside sells tasty apps but not really a full meal option. Beers change periodically but there seem to be quite a few options.
Great beers, great prices. Live jazz, dumplings on site. Super spacious too
Good ambience but why are 90% of the beers IPAs?
Great brewery with a lot of options! They have food too which was really tasty.
Great brews in an intimate and welcoming space. Friendly and inclusive customer service. Nice variety of beers to choose from.
Amazing selection of beer, tasted just about everyone of them and you cant go wrong with any of them. Friendly staff
Great place. I’m not typically a lager guy, but I’m big fan of their Mosaic Lager. The Berrya 51 is an awesome sour, and the coffee porter was also pretty delicious. My friends got a couple hazy IPAs and seemed to enjoy them. The guys behind the bar were cool and pretty funny. Overall, a great experience.
By far, one of my favorite breweries. There are a lot of beers to choose form and you can create a flight to taste all the different kinds of beer. I really like the sour option. Bonus: they have delicious noodles and dumplings fresh out of the kitchen. This beer and food combo is awesome. We left with a T-shirt souvenir. Staff is very friendly. Vibe is family friendly, appropriate for all ages, and a cool hangout spot. We came on a hot day so would love more AC/Vent- Fan. It got a but stuffy and the spicey food did not help LOL Looking forward to coming back!
Amazing customer service. The staff was knowledgable and made my first visit here pleasant. Left with a 4pack to take back home to central Cali. Thanks for a good memory during my 1st time stay in Oakland! Also, cute dogs go here too!
Many fine hazy IPAs- fun crowd
Pretty good beer. It sells grilled chicken on the side street which you can order.
Great beers, great atmosphere, food smelled delicious even though we couldnt stay for it.
Beer was solid, dumplings were decent but small. Service was really bad. We got there at 1, barely anybody there, and service was super slow and they lost my food order and didnt notice until I said something after an hour.
Love this place. Great beer great staff. Totally recommend
Amazing, quaint, superb ambiance. If you love craft beer, get here now. Love!
I attended Original Pattern Brewing one year anniversary. I received a commemorative glass and two tickets for pours of beer. I had Crosshatch a Kölsch at 5.0 % and Devil’s Puzzle, an English Barleywine at 10.0 %. Both pours were fresh, flavorful and delicious. I first had Original Pattern’s beer at the Oakland Mural Festival on Jack London Square in 2018. I am glad I went to the anniversary because I discovered the location is also home to a few other breweries. The taprooms of Independent Brewing Company, Oakland United Beerworks with Federation in the near Jack London Square vicinity. I look forward to going back and taking friends to go explore the menus.
Nice space, but a bit limited with seating. At first glance, it appears they wanted to go in a more private direction as they have mostly booths and tables that don’t necessarily communicate an open vibe. Either way, it was pretty busy and I enjoyed the beers. I didn’t get to try the food, but it looked and smelled amazing. Also, they had a live jazz band which totally made my night. Bravo!
Outstanding beer selection, taps and great service.
Enjoyed the afternoon here. Walkable to downtown (not sure at night) and freshly opened so pristine interior. They had a BBQ setup selling food outside (though I didnt try it - it looked great and others seemed to enjoy). 2/3 beers I had were great. The Tripel was a little underwhelming. But the Saison and dubbel were tasty.
Huge fan of the Rice beer-very refreshing & crisp, my absolute favorite 😍 (as a dark beer lover) is definitely their red and the one aged in bouban barrels, OMG 😍😋❣ As far as food the pot stickers & noodles 🍜 are stellar or wonton & noodles. Pineapple cotta was delicious as well. Great friendly and fast service. Love how they offer some of their beers in cans as well, although not all, like my 2 favs but great awesome place❣
Really good beer n dumpings
Discovered this place right before quarantine and have been having their canned stuff for a few months. Great variety, even though I dont like hoppy beers. Really love their beer. Stopped by with their additional outdoor seating and was great. Highly recommend. Dumplings were Sid, Japanese food was amazing.
Best beer in bayarea
Good beer and killer dumplings. Easy access off the freeway. Outdoor seating is open for social distance dinning. Staff is super friendly.
Best brewery in East Bay!!! The staff is amazing and beers are consistently the best. And they’re really pretty and cool cans too as a bonus!
Excellent BeerExcellent service. Staff is charming, gracious and above all SAFE! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Great ambiance and great beer.
Great spot, I love their dumplings and the beer is delicious.
Amazing selection of tasty beers. They keep brewing new selections all the time so there is always new deliciousness to discover.
Fantastic beer selection
These guys make really great beer. It’s impressive that they do more than just overhopped overhyped IPAs. They do a nice broad menu including a Helles lager, Kolsch, Saison, Berliner Weisse and a stout. The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly, and the tasting room is really stylish. I’ll be back!
Amazing dumplings and a super nice patio setup. IPA focused beer menu.
Fun stop for some very creative brews. Bring friends and try them all! Tasty bites and casual friendly atmosphere feels like slipping into your old favorite jacket.
Love this place. The food here is seriously good. The beer is great and very unique. Fantastic patio.
We had a good time. The beer menu was a little restricted, with a couple of beers sold out. But every beer we had was good, and while we didnt get any food, what we saw looked good. Its a very cool space, I look forward to going back and seeing what the brew master cooks up.
Fun little spot. Good beers. Cool atmosphere. Oregon beer is better ;), but this will do while we are visiting!!
We came here to try some beers and ended having a great time. It just so happened to be during Chinese New Years, so everyone in the bar got treated to a dragon dancer performance. The beer was great and we really enjoyed the variety of styles they had available.
Great beer! Great service! Yummy dumplings!
Everything about this place is awesome
Great new spot. Only been around for 1 year, but theyve nailed it on the beer and vibe. Definitely check out the pop-up in the same building for some tasty potstickers and dumplings
Great Great Beer!
Fantastic traditional German beer, in a variety of sizes.Their oktoberfest is amongst the best Ive had. So good, in fact, I bought some cans to take away with me immediately after tasting it. The triple and brown are not far behind. Great chilled vibe.
Outstanding beers, and great vibe. The dumplings were also very good. We will be coming back with the family again!
This family owned brewery is opening soon - so soon we can almost smell the beer already. Well actually we can because they have already made some and had the place open for Beer Week. A beautifully restored and repurposed building is a great reuse of one of the many Jack London District warehouse buildings and brings the district brewery count to four (and another one on the way). Together with the many wineries and four coffee roasters it cements our place as a premier beverage location in the East Bay if not the entire Bay Area. Drop by and tour us soon!
Good beer and good food as well. Cozy kind of place and the staff is super friendly as well. Was just my first visit but would be happy to go back. Try the spicy dumplings - they are really good.
What a great new space to get some beer. Theyve only been open a week (at the time I went), so they had 3 beers on tap at the time. I rated all 3 above 3.50 on Untapped, and definitely thought they were worth having again. Im looking forward to returning in the coming weeks as they add to their lineup. The venue was spacious and clean, and they have some ideas to add a balcony style space which is going to kick ass too. The swag selection is solid, with several hat colors, several glass choices and really colorful Crowler cans.
I went there with my friends to drink and draw. Beautiful place with vintage vibe, we took over the long table. Every beer was tasty, and I love the little dumplings pop-up. They were delicious, I had vegan option. Highly Reccomend.
Tuesday night trivia with Liliana is THE BEST! Definitely an Oakland must. Beer and dumplings are also so good.
Tried 15+ breweries while visiting and this was one of the best, if not the best.
Fun spot! Comfortable space indoors and out. I loved the dumplings.
Great bar. I would go again especially for the comedy show. The comedians were funny
Great hefe. Cool vibe at this spot. They had a dumpling pop-up on the Sunday I went that was bomb too. Looking forward to coming back again.
Nice atmosphere, nice staff, and most importantly - excellent beer!!! Great place to expand your horizons. Will definitely return when Im in town.
Great beer and great staff. Definitely worth checking out this new brewery. You wont be disappointed.
Decent beer, nice location, and service is alright. I wasnt impressed with the pot stickers they were serving when I was there. The you down with OPB IPA left me blown away.
Nice new brewery and taproom in a beautifully renovated industrial space. Very good hoppy beers and pilsner. Others said that the sours are good. (I cant enjoy sours.)
Great beer, nice location, friendly staff. Had a great experience overall.
Absolute gem of Jack London
Beautiful kid friendly space with an ever-rotating beer selection.
Nice and cozy space..The stout stout stout stout was super meh, I will continue to taste more and venture here.
Hands down my favorite beer in the East Bay. Always rotating beer offerings and top notch selection. Theres new hazies and IPAS literally every week, and the kolsch is consistently the best Ive found. Also! In the past Ive been lukewarm about trivia (who likes feeling dumb for not remembering middle school science facts?) but the host here is super entertaining and friendly and has hilarious categories, and now Im hooked on their Tuesday Trivia. Friday night jazz also feels so good at the end of the week. This place is the best. 10/10 will drink here again. Probably later today.
Cool spot! Recently opened with a great selection of brews.
Probably the most Hipster of the 4 JLBD (Jack London Brewing District) breweries with maybe the nicest tasting room (OUB comes close).I havent been wowed by their beers, but its around the corner from Independent and down the block from Seawolf (taproom / restaurant) so you can sample until you find a beer you like.Good to Eat Dumplings and Bao has a permanent pop-up in the front.
Great food and beers and ales
Delicious! Oh—and also delicious! 🍻
A smaller brewery than what Im used to, but these folks pack a punch. Self-guided or group tour is best when you have a group of friends. I came here on grand opening with colleagues and friends from another review site (sf-based) had a wonderful time. The 20 foot counter can barely fit us, but luckily there are barrels around. Good people, good beer, good location will make me come back even when Im by myself. I usually hit up places during work because its my job, but when it comes to hops, you can certainly count me in. Trust me on this. Do get DIPA Are you not entertained? Its A.B.V 8.5% with a citrus and fruity taste.
Met the owner/brewer/bar keep and he was happy to talk about his beer with us. Nice quiet place with a pale ale that Was stellar
Fantastic beer.
Awesome beer, great vibes, good food! Love this spot
Great selection of brews...From outstanding IPAs to some very tasty dark brews
Always clean beers. Everything true to style.
Great new brewery, beautiful interior (and glassware!) And super personable owner.... Will be back!
Super friendly satff and delocious beer. And the food is great.
Pilsner was really refreshing, friendly staff, great music.
Beautiful space and good jams! Lots of natural lights.Unorganized and frazzled, and lack of attention and service.Unfortunately, most importantly, beers lack. I tasted all beers except the Kellerbier and I worry for their going concern. The competitive landscape wouldnt allow mediocrity.I give it two years.
Great clean tasting beer. Some of the best in the bay.
Probably the best beer Ive had from the East Bay. Come. You will not regret.
Fantastic place, really good beer and food. Limited issue space
Outstanding!
Great place for beers and hanging out!
