This is our go to for whole bean coffee, and the one we consistently send to friends as gifts. We have tried most of the roasts sold here. Im happy with the decaf option that Im left with for showing up too late in the day once all the other goods are gone (no sarcasm just a warning if you dont like decaf). I try a new coffee every couple weeks, but always come back here. Good for people who like traditional dark roasts. Worth every penny!

I’ve been a Red Bay customer for a while now and have visited all three locations in Oakland. This location is by far the worst and it has gone downhill for the past 6 months now.My mochas are watery, and same goes for the other lattes. I would highly advise anyone coming here to instead to go their headquarters location .2 miles away since they still make the coffee and lattes decent over there.

3.9 stars... Food was pretty good. Coffee had good flavor, but wasnt made to the right temperature. Didnt get the cup of water I requested. They also missed a pastry - I think they didnt charge me either, so thats good at least. Hate to complain. And it wasnt terrible - but also wasnt the best.

Great coffee! I both visited this location and ordered whole beans online and all of them were perfect! Parking is easily available on street and employees are kind and fast. Definitely a delight.

Good place to grab an expensive cup of freshly roasted coffee and hang out in the comfortable lounge. Much more fun to wander around the outside of the building admiring the fantastic murals.

I was so happy and satisfied with the overall service that you have. Their staff was also very friendly and accommodating. A strong recommendation for your coffee shop!

It was so dope! Easily one of the best coffee spots in the Bay. Such a unique and empowering aesthetic. The Vietnamese Cold brew is on point. If youre looking for friendly, helpful staff then this is an excellent choice and I highly recommend Red Bay. Also has a lot if IG worthy photo spots. Service is quick and accurate. Its also cool to see the coffee beans being ground up!

Came here on a lazy Sunday for some coffee. Met the owner and his co-owner Grayson, a super friendly and gently doggy that loves to greet everyone that comes in. I tried the charcoal latte that was just a bit too sweet for my taste, but very interesting nonetheless. The Vietnamese cold brew on the other hand is very interesting for all the right reasons. I would definitely come back in the future, but will probably just stick to the regular latte. 😀😅

I like visiting this shop because of its calming atmosphere of the place. It was so quiet and not too crowded. The coffee that they had was so delicious and not too strong. The cakes that they had were so delicious as well. The barista was so friendly and pleasant. Also, they had a good internet connection.

This is a decent place to get a cup of coffee. We didnt have trouble finding parking but the neighborhood is a little down. Ordering was difficult with plastic partitions and microphones that didnt work. The girl who got the coffee was a little rude. Coffee was tasty and we stop come back sometime for another cup of Joe.

Dont live nearby, but if Im passing thru Oakland area, theyre a must stop. Friendly folks, great variety of coffee flavors, terrific charcoal latte, pastries, lots of other good stuff, & the East 10th roastery location is really fun inside, WITH easy parking. If youre lucky, Greyson (@redbaygreyson) will be hangn around in one of his colorful bandanas. Did I mention the pastries?? 😋

Amazing huge airy coffee shop with awesome decor. I was in the area and had been meaning to try it out, so happy I did. They make syrups in house so I got a candied yam oat latte and it was amazing! For milk alternatives they had soy, almond, and oat from what I remember. They didnt have much food but I did see a few pastries and little salad containers.

I dont handle caffeine very well, but I do like the taste of coffee. I regularly buy their Ocho Libre decaffeinated roast. I make it at home using my Aeropress. Its pretty good.Ive bought from a number of local coffee roasters. This is among the better of them. Thats why I keep going back.I also used them as a sit-down café, back when people still did that. Hopefully that kind of thing will come back somewhat soon. Im sort of sick of spending so much time at home. Nonetheless, I do like the control and experimentation and perfection-chasing involved in making my own coffee.

I havent had the opportunity to visit Red Bay in person yet, but Ive been blown away by the speed and responsiveness of their online store. My orders ship quickly, are packaged responsibly, and arrive without issue. The 5-lb bag of beans on subscription is a great value and, most importantly, the coffee is delicious.

This coffee shop has the coziest and homiest place in the city. They have the finest and aromatic coffee beans than any other coffee shop. It is our daily routine to drop by and have a sip before going to work and have our morning coffee. I love the smell of the coffee before sipping. I tried yesterday their Kashmiri Chai, the best!

I am subscribed for coffee beans each month. My favorite beans are Kings Prize, but I love Carvers Dream. I brew on a Moka Pot and the coffee is really flavorful and fresh!

What an amazing place the coffee here is great. The atmosphere is amazing plenty of parking I recommend going here. And then you can go next door if youd like to the whole enchilada and get you a good Mexican dinner. If youre driving by pass by Starbucks and go to the Red Bay Cafe. Awesome place

Such a cute space! Its very open & airy, SUPER spacious, really good for big groups or parties. Really good coffee and nice atmosphere. Industrial/rustic looking. Good place for studying or meetings. I think they might start selling books there too. Highly recommend.

Great place

Really nice place to have your coffee and kick back your back during the afternoon. Loved the atmosphere and the coffee selection. Couldnt find the entrance from the first time and headed to the wrong entrance (some sort of warehouse entry with barrels all around). There was also a very friendly dog without a leash setting in front of the entrance and honestly didnt feel very comfortable to get in or even be around him.

They do coffee very well, the space looks great and they’re all the best people. They have a great mission and you need to go get a latte there and tip them well.

If you love quality coffee, go to Red Bay! Their coffee is fantastic and the most important reason I give this place 5 stars. Their beans are reasonably priced given the quality (a little pricier than Peets but not by much). Because the beans are so good I usually get a drip coffee (I like to really taste the beans) but on occasion I go for an espresso based drink and always enjoy it. The space is really nice. Its spacious and airy and has that industrial chic feel to it without being pretentious. The vibe of the place leans Oakland hipster but is pretty chill. No one looks down their nose at you if youre not wearing black plastic glasses. Baristas are friendly here.

Only complaint is that its a bit far from where I live. Good vibes, good coffee, and a great spot to get work done. Everyone is very respectful and welcoming.

My friend took me here on the way to the airport to come home to Seattle. I had the best cup of coffee here, in the last 5 years, but not before I was impressed by the open and friendly staff that had an unpretentiousness about them that is hard to find in most coffee houses. I am regretting not buying a bag of beans for my stove top espresso too, and going to make sure when I visit again to fly in and out of OAK! Thank you! p.s. the open space of the whole warehouse and seating area was rad!

I love love love this place, products and people. I live in San Jose and work in Oakland. I have made trips from SJ just to visit and do some light work out of the roastery’s cafe. This is the best coffee cafe experience in all of San Francisco Bay Area, by far.

Love Red Bay Headquarters, the space is amazing, the coffee is really nice and they support local foodies for some of their brunch weekends when they have a guest, they also support creative and political conversations at their spot, the resident puppy Grayson is the best and always super nice to both humans and other dogs alike

We were there to see Saul Williams who was awesome. Had one of the best lattes I have ever had. Easy parking.
