Needed to find a place to eat near the place I had an appointment. Went with my daughter to this place. The food reminded me of a home cooked meal. Staff very pleasant.

The best chicken and waffles in Oakland. This chicken does not have the gristle when you bite down into it is just meaty and juicy and the crust is awesome.

This is a great local cafe with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff that always make you feel welcome. The food is tasty with fresh ingredients, and there are seating options both in and outdoors that can accommodate a variety of group sizes. This has been my favourite breakfast spot for years and I feel like a member of the family when Im here. Their coffee is wonderful as well, if you are just looking for something to go. Even if their kitchen is closed they wont turn you away hungry and will offer to make you a sandwich to go. This is the best cafe!

This place is an absolute gem. Whenever Im visiting friends in Oakland we stop here for lunch or breakfast. Their omelettes are perfectly prepared, and the ingredients are fresh. The coffee is delicious! And my friend always gets the french toast which she absolutely loves. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and fast. Highly recommend if youre in the area.

Ive ordered in person as well as delivery from there. Their prices, I feel, are way too inflated for the quality of their offerings and their customer service. Take for instance, a mocha. In store, they offer two sizes, regular and large, pieces at $4 & 5 something resp. For delivery order, the same beverage is a whopping $6.00 for no good reason, esp seeing as the offering is nothing to write home about.

Ok, whenever I see shrimp on the menu. I have to try them. Having lived in the real southern states of Florida and the like have spoiled me about the simple taste of shrimp and grits. I have always found them to be dressed up shadows of what the dish should really by anywhere outside of the southern. Especially here in the bay area...... Until now... The shrimp and grits here are dressed up. However the shrimp is cooked well and the grits are the creamiest I have had outside of Florida. The tomatoes, onions, green onions are bot really needed for this dish, the dont over power the main stars. All in all, the best shrimp on grits in the bay, and they would actually hold there own in any place in any of the typical southern states shrimp and grits dishes.

ON 9/3/20 I ATE BREAKFAST HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME I HAD A HUGH WAFFLE SCRAMBLED EGGS W/ CHEESE AND A TWO SMALLS LINK SAUSAGES QND A GLASS OF ORANGE JUICE THE WAITRESS WAS VERY HELPFUL AND NICE THE WHOLE TIME I WAS THERE . I WOULD DEFINITELY GOD EAT THERE AGAIN IM A BREAKFAST PERSON I WILL EAT THAT ANYTIME OF THE DAY .

Extensive breakfast menu, great coffee, big portions, great service, not crowded. I had a traditional egg breakfast with eggs and ham. It was very good. They have a patio, so its dog friendly. This is the first time I had breakfast there, Ill be coming back.

The worst place to be at. I saw the owner’s(lady) behavior toward a black lady uber driver who came in front of me to pick up the order for her customer. The worst experience I ever witnessed. I cancelled my order and I’m never going in there. I stand by “Oakland stands against hate”. If you do too show them that.

Staff was very friendly and patient with my indecision about what to snack on. Just the basic coffee selections but it was fresh and not bad at all. Ample areas to setup my laptop and get some work done, as well. Good Starbucks alternative and I like that they have been there, forever!

We had ordered from Coffee Mill a few times. The first couple times we were very satisfied. Lately, not so much. Wheres the meat is the question!!. I ordered a sausage scramble and not even a whole sausage. I had like 5 little pieces and nothing but egg. My wife had shrimp and grits with only 4 shrimp. Very unsatisfying.

Walked to the Saturday market at 7:15 am desperate for coffee. Finding no coffee, I continued down Grand Ave searching for succor. Happily stumbled upon The Coffee Mill. Even obtained a fresh onion bagel toasted, with cream cheese. And a friendly happy person behind the counter. The Coffee Mill was perfect, everything I was searching for, and more.

I spent the afternoon working in the coffee shop here today and got the sweetest service from the young woman working behind the counter. She was so warm and genuine. It was a quiet, restful place to spend the afternoon. The smoothie and fruit salad both tasted fresh and yummy.

Grits were luke warm, waitress got offended because I asked down the menu after she swore they were sanitized but the napkin used was black.

Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches that opens early. Additionally the staff are kind and friendly. The first time I visited I loved the chai latte so much I called back to ask what brand they used and they told me!

First let me say that I will go back...I was getting my car repaired and the mechanic told me about the food...so I went for breakfast the norm eggs, pancakes, hashbrown. Eggs were good along with the potatoes but, my pancakes had a sour taste to them. Again I will give this place another chance...I think my hormones are a little off balanced this week.They have a great menu would like to try other items.
