Brought my 2018 Triumph Thruxton R here to install new engine covers and replace the oil. They noticed the return spring was bent and went out of their way to order another one with 2-day shipping, out of their own pocket. The owner and his fellow mechanics are very helpful and friendly. Plus the service is cheaper than Munroe and the location is easily accessible for us east-bayers. Highly recommend.

First and foremost, these folks are really nice and honest. They obviously know their trade, but instead of using that to milk you, they just give their honest opinion and whatever you decide to get done, gets done, for a very reasonable price. Used their service twice, and both times I left with a smile on my face. Got the job done, didnt pay much, and had a nice chat in the meantime. Definitely will go back next time I need help with my bikes.

Came back in today for help with a chain Lube and they were super quick and helpful, thank you so much.

I have been getting my motorcycles serviced at Meteor Motorbikes since 2011. They actually do much more than service -- every time I buy a new bike I take it immediately to Meteor Motorbikes for them to make modifications for better performance and especially ergonomics; motorcycles are not fun or safe to ride unless they are set up for you height, weight, and riding style. For example I had them raise the handlebars on my Suzuki DR-Z400S 3.5 inches, so I could much more comfortably stand on the pegs while riding off road (Im 6 5 tall). Ive also had them install better brakes, better handlebars, lots of lights front and rear, louder horns, action cameras; and once I had them convert a dual sport bike into a green sticker dirt bike. Since 2011 they have modified and serviced 6 different motorcycles that Ive owned. They are professional and friendly. The thing I like most about them is that they take the time to go thru and explain the technical details of each service, so I am comfortable with it; Im an engineer, so this is important to me.

Meteor consistently has provided me great and reasonably priced service. They have even offered whats not worth fixing, which makes me trust and respect their work & advice.Also, my bike runs great now... so theres that!

Meteor Motorbikes is the best place i have found to take my Ducati GT1000 to, Rob is everything you will want out of a mechanic. Me personally, i like talking and dealing with the same person that is working on my bike. you wont find that at the bigger shops, i am picky as a cactus and this is the place to go. Excellent Shop. Rob is the best! Hell help you actually understand your bike without giving a bunch of attitude like other mechanics. He charges very reasonably and I have had excellent results with the work hes done for my bike (08 R6). Quality service, great atmosphere, and great prices. He really enjoys bikes and you see it in his work. THE shop to go to if youre on a newer sports bike.

Walked in with a bare wheel. Dude had a suitable new tire in stock and installed it while I waited just a few minutes. Price of labor was extremely reasonable. Super chill experience overall. Ill definitely be going back.

I had to bring in my bike on an emergency after water got into my spark plug hole. The issue was quickly diagnosed and I had my bike back within hours despite their having many bikes in the queue! Im very grateful for the speedy and considerate services provided by Meteor Motorbikes and would highly recommend. Looking forward to taking their maintenance classes as well!

I come here for any and all of my motorcycle needs. Rob and Michelle are extremely knowledgeable about everything related to bikes, from repair/maintenance to finding quality parts at the best prices. Because this is a small, private business you know they’re passionate about it and it really shows in their work. Rob’s extensive experience is the most important tool in his kit and he’s an absolute magician at flushing out the real problems with a bike, where many others would fall for the false symptoms. They also have tons of stories about their motorcycle shenanigans which they’re more than happy to share while you’re at the shop.And if quality and comfort aren’t enough, their responsiveness is second to none. I’ve had a situation where I went down in the street and my bike was inop, awaiting an imminent towing by the city. I called Rob and first thing the next day he swooped in and scooped it up in his truck; I’ve also spoken to others at his shop who say he’s done the same for them. I can’t stress enough how helpful these two have been… if I ever have to move out of the Bay, I’m worried I won’t be able to find people like this.

Rob and Michelle are awesome! Takes care of me every time I bring in my Ducati (they do valve adjustments too!). An incredibly honest group of mechanics that are super easy to work with. Highly recommended if you have anything on two wheels that needs service, repairs, or tuning.

Stopped by to see the place and ask about having them track down and fix a problem that I was having with my Triumph Speed Triple which was preventing it from starting. Rob was super helpful and suggested two things for me to check before bringing it in to them. (He was right; problem solved!)Instead, I brought my Aprilia Dorsoduro in for a tune up and new tires. The pricing was better than I was quoted elsewhere and the work was great. I was very pleased with the whole experience and recommend this place highly.

This is my first time writing a review, because I sincerely hope that more people would come to this place. Rob and Michelle will be your greatest resources for repair, maintenance and just learning about your bike and riding in general.I am a new rider and I purchased my Ninja 250 a month ago. Unfortunately, I dropped my bike in a tight turn and the foot pedal was bent. My friend recommended me to Rob’s shop. Upon knowing that I was a new rider, he not only helped me with the foot pedal adjustment, he also showed me how to clean and oil the chain and checking tire pressure. The whole experience felt like a learning session about motorcycles. I was listening tentatively and trying to remember everything he said, because it is everything I need to know in order to treat my bike better. In the end, the shifter and pedal positioning felt more comfortable than before I dropped the bike. This is awesome!Rob is super knowledgeable about bikes. My friend asked him questions about fixes for some electrical issues, and Rob literally pop back an idea for quick and easy fix in a couple seconds. Based on what my friend told me later, the fix Rob came up with was much simpler than what other mechanics shops had told him, and the quote was so much cheaper. He is not just there to run a business. He is there because he is passionate about bikes and he enjoys helping people!Actually just today, another new rider friend dropped his bike and damaged the front fork. So, my friend went to Rob and he was willing to pick up the bike as soon as the next day. By the way, he is using his Sunday to help us with the damaged bike. We can’t thank him enough for his great services and compassion for new riders.I never felt like a customer in his shop. The environment was very friendly. Wow, I just had a tremendous experience with Rob and Meteor Motorbikes.Im three days from moving to the east coast and am riding my street triple there. The only problem was that I could not adjust the pre-load on the rear spring because of a bent spanner. I called up Ace Motorsports, which Ive spent nearly $1k in servicing my bike at, and they told me they couldnt help me -- and to be honest, they were rude.Enter Rob and Meteor. Desperate, I called him up, he told me to come by anytime. When I got there, he dropped what he was doing to help me. He was friendly, calm, and fixed my problem straight away. When I tried to pay him, he told me not to worry about it. When I insisted and put cash in his hands, he told me Id given him too much and returned some.Given the stress of my impending move and getting this sorted out, Rob made my day.Highly recommended. Would give six stars if I could.

11:00AMIve just met Rob from Meteor Motorcycles this morning.I have an oil leak in my Ninja 500R (Kawasaki 2007), and Rob was extremely professional and courteous in explaining how he is going to diagnose and later treat the problem. Ive had a brief chat with other customer on the way into the shop, and he couldnt get enough superlatives to describe his level of satisfaction with Meteor Motorbikes level of service.Compared to other shops in the same area, i foresee this place to be my home-bay for all my motorcycle needs. Will keep the review updated after I pick my bike up, but right now, I am extremely pleased with Robs bedside manner.Ride safe,A.Update:3:00PMRob has called me with a detailed report on his findings, and the actions he thinks need to be taken + a clear estimate of costs and timeline until the problem is fixed.The problem seems to be an oil leak around the sprocket seal which is an approximately $12.00 part, which Rob has just ordered online for my bike.

I have NEVER taken the time to write a yelp review before, so that hopefully speaks to the quality of service found at Meteor Motorbikes. This shop is like the locally owned coffee shop versus starbucks. The owners, Rob and Michelle, are super knowledgeable about motorcycles and will actually help you understand how to get the most out of your motorcycle.Ive recently started tinkering with my own motorcycle because I find it to be a great hobbie but the times that I cant quite get it right, Ill take it to Rob and hell treat the fix like an educational process. You can tell he isnt like your typical mechanic who is only out to charge you as much as possible. You can tell hes super passionate about working on motorcycles. I heard he only works on motorcycles he actually has a genuine interest in; Ive heard hes turned away some older motorcycles unless he thinks theyre particularly interesting for some reason or another. From what I understand he is best with current-ish sport bikes and especially Hondas.Like I said, I enjoy working on my own bike, but if i reach the limit of my capabilities, I go to Rob and could listen to him lecture about regulators/rectifiers for days as hes fixing my bike.An example of pricing: my friend who just bought a shiny new R6 ended up getting a bad batch of motor oil. As he was pouring it in he noticed there were some small leaves and twigs in the NEW oil. Obviously this was cause for alarm. He called up every shop in the bay area and Rob quoted him a price that was HALF of the lowest price he could find anywhere else. Rob even tried to walk him through how my friend might try to do the job himself if he were mechanically inclined enough to do so. Rob is clearly the kind of mechanic that takes pride in his work.Again, the shop has an awesome (almost hipster) kind of vibe to it. Lets put it this way: if these guys were a grocery store, it would be a mom and pop shop with all their produce organic and locally grown. I cant recommend these guys enough!Oh by the way, their new address is at 2600 Magnolia in Oakland. Apparently the JUST moved from their location in Berkeley which still shows up on searches. The phone number still works so give them a call ahead of time!
