I have long known Fractured Prune as a staple at the OCMD/DE beaches but noticed a few locations pop up in Jersey Shore a few years ago. After years of being loyal to our local shops I decided to try it out.First off, their menu is MASSIVE. Their donuts are similar to many fried donut shops down here where each variety starts as a fresh, hot, fried donut and is then topped with your specific order. However, I have never seen a menu this extensive.Inside, the shop is small but there is ample seating outside. They also travel pretty well and even taste a little better once they have cooled down a bit but more on that later.We ordered a half dozen donuts: Carnival (Honey Glaze, Rainbow Sprinkles), Lumberjack (Maple Glaze, Bacon, Cinnamon Sugar), Peppermint Patty (Mint Glaze, Chocolate Mini Chips), Twix (Chocolate Glaze, Graham Cracker and Caramel Drizzle), Strawberry Shortcake (Strawberry Glaze, Graham Crackers, Powdered Sugar), Vanilla Streusel (special - vanilla glaze w streusel topping).Im not exaggerating when I say they were HOT. Maybe too hot... they honestly started to taste better as they cooled. These would be better to take home and enjoy in my opinion.All in all, I really enjoyed this place. It doesnt have the same atmosphere as Nauti Donuts or Browns but they are definitely great. The line also tends to be shorter so this is a good place to grab some on your way home!

Went with my husband and daughter. We ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything donut and it was so good. We also ordered half dozen donuts. I loved the churro donut and the cookies and cream. My husband has the Boston cream. Everything was fresh and quick to come out. They even have a small outdoor seating section out front which is nice.

My husband and I always stop while on vacation! We love their donuts and highly recommend the iced caramel macchiato!! I just finished mine and wishing I had grabbed another!!

We always make sure we get donuts here at least once on our yearly vacation. It never disappoints. The only bummer this time was that we couldn’t order custom donuts online, which we were hoping to do to save some time; only menu donuts can be ordered online. Luckily it wasn’t busy when we arrived. The selection is huge and we’ve never had a bad donut. I will say that the manager(?)/owner(?) who was working that morning was really condescending to the teen workers, who were all working SO hard. I wouldn’t have wanted to work there and wouldn’t want my kid to either. They kept at it though, and the wait for 2 dozen donuts was not long at all.EDIT - I was there last month, not today. My group and the one behind us were commenting on how uncomfortable we felt for the workers that day. I’m glad to hear that was not a typical interaction and hope that’s the case. We will certainly be back next time we’re in town.

Honestly, the wait was WAY TOOOO LONG for the donuts... They needed to open the second register!Several employees wandering around behind the register stocking and doing whatever. Waited 18 minutes just to get to the register and another 10-15 after paying for our dozen and coffee.... And most of the donuts were all one flavor/type ( a plain donut) just with dozens of different toppings. Not my cup of tea.Nice folks but a little mismanaged in my opinion....

My wife and I ate here and had donuts, iced coffee, and a hot latte. Great food and drinks along with excellent and fast service. Huge variety of glazes and toppings. Highly recommend.

If you ordered a doughnut that is similar, they all tasted the same. The service was very good and prompt. Not much to complain about other than the half dozen doughnuts we got all tasted the same. But the were fresh and warm.

Where do I start you have to wait a bit or awhile for the donuts, coffee or breakfast sandwiches but oh boy is the wait worth it the donuts are the best donuts I have ever eaten and they also make the donuts when you order them so they will always be fresh havent had coffee yet but they have alot of Latte options. I cant say anything bad about the place so I would really recommend getting your donuts from the Fractured Prune Donuts.

The Prune was our destination after a 30 mile bike loop from OC to see Lucy then back along the Boardwalk. Death by Chocolate and OC Sand were really tasty. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Now we’ll finish our cappuccinos and had for home.

This place is awesome. You watch the hot donuts drop out right in front of you and then they are topped with whatever delicious toppings your heart desires. From the simple to the crazy they are all delicious and still warm when you get them! Caution the box will be hot! They also offer breakfast sandwiches and a variety of specialty coffee drinks with crazy flavors! Try the French toast donut.. simple but yet perfect in every way. Pair it with an almond joy frozen or iced coffee! You wont regret it.

Stopped here before we left to get some doughnuts and we’re not disappointed! Got the coffee crumb cake doughnut and it was delicious. This is a must go if you want to get something good.

We love this place! So many choices. I had a special “key lime” doughnut today and it was so good! They should consider making that a permanent doughnut. Yum! There is a man who comes out and makes sure you are happy. Offers wet wipes and forks. Maybe he is the owner? He is very nice.

A lot of choices in Ocean City, NJ - Different from Browns -- when it comes to some fresh donuts! The selection is extreme and everyone in your group will be happy. My fav is the traditional plain or cinnamon sugar (french) - the donuts came hot. They were solid and cakey - but very light. I was wondering if they uses a special refined flower to make them lighter than expected. Outside was not greasy and eating a dozen is simple. The girls behind the counter very friendly and I was given 2 for the price of 1- was nice.

As soon as you walk in, you feel so welcomed by the friendly staff and all the smiles. The donuts are so delicious and fresh. The breakfast sandwich is better than your “normal” breakfast sandwich and it was hot and great with lots of flavor. The owner is very personable, kind and talked to my husband and I for a few minutes about the business and was just overall a very nice gentleman. The caramel coffee frozen drink was very tasty. This is a great treat and truly a part of the OCNJ vacation experience !

Our child waited impatiently the whole summer to finally try their famous donuts. The donuts were fresh but after expending 45 dollars including 20 percent tip the minimum you expect for an 8 years old ( or any costumer) requesting a bathroom is to get access to it, especially in a place that offers breakfast. Unfortunately, the employee/owner said that they don’t have a bathroom, this was at the Asbury location, any way he was kind enough to tell us that there was bathrooms at the boardwalk that is located several blocks away from the store. We decide then to drive half hour back to home since we didn’t plan to visit the Ocean City boardwalk.

Doughnuts are great. Staff was great. Had a awesome taylor ham & egg & cheese sanwich on this great artisinal bagel. Defently go back!

The Fractured Prune has THE BEST donuts on the island. I was more upset when I found out they only open on weekends after labor day. They also have great breakfast sandwich type foods and good coffee. I would absolutely heavily recommend everyone to visit for breakfast.

One of my favorite donut places in Ocean City New Jersey. The donuts are exactly the right size and they come in a variety of flavors. I like the blueberry hill, the caramel bliss, and the peanut butter cup!

Great donuts! (they come fresh from the oven and melt in your mouth). They also have three V60 pour-overs for coffee and have some very unique and special origins (Haiti is one of them). They arent specialty quality, but they have the potential to be if they had more space and the desire to learn/become a specialty cafe. The coffee is amazing. Really colorful and doesnt taste chemically altered (I dont think it was flavored, but Im honestly questioning it)

Ive been coming to Ocean City NJ for the past 10 years. My best friends family has a house on 18th street and we just discovered this place today. We are in love. The donuts are amazing, the staff are friendly and helpful and how can you not dance in a shop that plays great classics. This has become a must when we come here. Absolutely worth it.

Even though their website said they were open, they were closed. I give them one (wouldnt accept 0) stars for not having any concern for customer satisfaction. People were outside and confused because online and also posted on their door were hours for today. When we asked why, we were told it was because of the weather. It was only raining! Very disappointed because we drove far to try their donuts. I suggest you post honest hours so people arent waiting outside!

Im glad I dont live close by because I would come here way too much. I love the warm donuts loaded with mocha glaze and mini chocolate morsels. Price is high for donuts but worth it for the experience while on vacation. There is usually a wait early in the morning but they get you through pretty quick.

I am visiting Ocean City New Jersey for a family reunion. I found the fractured prune when wandering with my boyfriend. It was amazing. All donuts are freshly made upon ordering, very unique. They are cakey, fluffy, and delicious with many differny toppings, styles, and flavors. 10/10 would suggest going and getting the morning buzz.
