The Tato-Nut Donut Shop offers the best donuts that we’ve ever been so privileged to try. We did not know about this place as this was the first time that we have visited Ocean Springs. We just happen to pass by when exploring the area on foot and noticed a line of customers along the sidewalk that was about a few hundred feet long. It was around 10:30 AM so we decided to give it a few hours, eat some lunch, and make our way back there to see if the line would be any shorter later that day. Thankfully, they were only 10 to 15 people ahead of us when we returned that afternoon!We ordered a few glazed, a few donut holes, and the Persian donut, which is much like a cinnamon bun. I tried all three, and the Persian was my favorite (though you can’t go wrong with any of them).The prices are very reasonable especially for the quality of product that you receive in return for your money. Just remember to be prepared to stand in line during certain parts of the day. Highly recommend!

So I dont have anything bad to say about this place. We stood in line for an hour for great tasting donuts. My problem is I didnt feel like they were donuts that warranted the wait. I mean they were good but I have just as good donuts all the time.

Neat, clean and polite. First time here as I am visiting Mississippi for a few weeks. I was recommend Tato-Nut by a friend and I wasnt disappointed. Hard to compare to other donut shops because I didnt have any other ones to compare to side by side. Plus they didnt last long enough for me to even care about comparing to anything. Besides I get standard donuts usually so Im not a donut connoisseur. They were great. Also scored a free cup of coffee but upgraded to Hot cocoa. Store was well setup for distancing and the staff was pleasant.

The best donuts you will ever have in your life. There is almost always an incredibly long line. No matter how long, you will never be sorry you waited in it. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, but honestly I would still wait in the long line even if they werent because the donuts are that good 😅 just go - you wont be disappointed!

I tried this shop after a shop in New Orleans recommended them. The donuts were soft and fluffy and fresh. However, I found them to be lacking flavor. I appreciate that they were not overly sweet like other major chain donuts. When I tried the strawberry filled one it was just bland. I did really enjoy their applesauce cake donut. That was my favorite one. The Bavarian cream was just meh. It was overall disappointing for me but they aren’t bad. I’d probably try them again at least once if I was staying local here. I didn’t have to wait and I loved seeing the rooster that greeted me outside the shop. ;-)

This is a family business that is now in is I think 3rd or 4th generation theyre doing a lovely job theyve kept their grandfathers recipes and it is still excellent I just bought several boxes to take us to the local hospital for the nurses there and I hope other people do the same local police departments local Health departments they are all working tires Leslie and they deserve at a donut break thank you so much Taylor nut your product is beautiful and delicious as always

I was watching Katina Eats Kilos on Youtube eat from here. Decided to try it and I have to say these are some of the best donuts Ive ever had. My only regret is that I only bought one of the white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. It was really good.

A Mississippi staple. Absolutely amazing shop, wonderful quick staff, and the delicious donuts are straight from heaven. Its an adventure going there knowing how well known they are; Ive shown up a few times at 0530 right when the doors open and theres always a line. So great!!!

Drove here from Florida after doing research on places up my alley along my route to Arkansas. I dont eat donuts because I dont eat wheat and most donuts are just too sweet.The donuts at Tato-Nut were melt in your mouth delicious. They were not over sugary and the toppings and fillings tasted homemade and full of flavor, they didnt just taste like typical store bought artificial and generic flavorings.I got the Smores, Bavarian cream filled chocolate, standard glazed, and maple. They were light enough to take a couple bites out of each and didnt leave my stomach with aches from a sugar rush.I appreciate the fact the donuts are made with potato flour vs wheat flour and are made fresh daily. These donuts were the best Ive had in a very long time.I only gave 4 stars because I really wanted a hot chocolate and was excited to see it on the menu, however when I arrived and saw its a basic machine with a generic powder mixed in water, I couldnt order it. I would give 5 stars if it was a handmade drink made with milk. Other than the cheap hot chocolate, I highly recommend Tato-Nut and I will be back.

The owner recently passed away and this store has been nothing but trouble. Today is the 3rd time I have driven an hour and a half to get donuts and they were sold out and closed by 1 pm, even though their hours are posted on Google as 6am - 5pm. You guys need to change your hours to 6 am to 1 pm if you are going to be sold out everyday by 1. Or if anything, start making more product.

Never open when Ive gone or out of donuts..... been by 4 times, 2 times closed, 2 times out of donuts and closed really early... just wanting to try them based on the history of the location, but I think if you post hours of operation you should be open during those hours not closed by 1pm....

Amazing doughnuts, I would say probably the best I have ever had. Soft, fluffy and light. Feels like it melts in your mouth. The cake doughnuts are moist and very rich but not overpowering. Great prices. I would definitely recommend and will be back.

I love the donut selection and coffee here; however, business hours are weird and have been very unpredictable. I visit the Gulf Coast once a month and I try to visit the donut shop while in town. I am rarely able to catch them. They were closed on a random Tuesday in October. They apparently close early everyday (as compared to other restaurants), and are closed every Sunday and Monday. I can understand closing on Sunday ... but Monday is the beginning of the work week. Locals may have more luck catching this place open. If you’re visiting, good luck.

Great donuts. Grew up with my dad bringing a dozen donuts home after a long night at work. I have always loved the blueberry ones and still do. You park on the side of the road and walk in. Service is quick and the employees are friendly. Tato nut will always have a place in my heart.

The best donuts in the world. The secret is they use potato flour. The owner opens when he wants and closes when he sells out. If I ever pass through that area, I buy a cooler so I can bring home 3-4 dozen. The taste is indescribable. Try it and youll be hooked.

The donuts are great but the customer service is NOT. I will never be back. There was 4 people working out front, with 3 on 1 side and 1 on the other. I waited in line twice as long as 4 people who came in after me. When I got to the front of the line they had no chocolate donuts left. I asked for 1, literally 1 donut to be iced with chocolate on top. So after waiting in line for 30 minutes I am not going to wait another 10 or 15 minutes for them to literally dip a donut top in chocolate. Poor, poor service. There are plenty of other donut shops with donuts just as good, and they are good the next morning too unlike Tato Nut.

Im from Mobile, Alabama and Ill be doggoned if these are some of the best daggum Donuts Ive ever had. Krispy Kreme be damned. I was told about this place from a stop of mine while I was out delivering one day. I got to try one and was instantly hooked. Theyre potato based instead of flour which to me makes them more fluffy like a little pillow of goodness. I like this place so much that Ill make it my duty to go to this shop and grab some for the boys that introduced me to them or just grab some for myself. Ohh and get there kinda early, these things are SLAP YO MAMA kinda good and were not talking bout bbq, and sell fast, speaking of selling their prices are ridiculously fair for the sweet nectar that you get, not like those overpriced mumbo-jumbo micro-machines ( looking at you Krispy Kreme) $8.00 for a dozen, youre welcome. I ordered ahead and chose curbside pick up to avoid the hectic morning rush. Nobody answered when I arrived for my pick up (after calling 5+ times) so I just went in and picked them up, which wasnt an issue for me but it couldve been for others. Overall, the donuts were average and the service was slightly lacking. It was a fine visit and Im glad I visited a town staple but not sure Id visit again.

I moved to Ocean Springs a year ago. I had never heard of this pastry and coffee shop. It is my favorite place to get my espresso and they have almond milk! The donuts and persians are the best! It is so well managed. I’m a germaphobe and it’s very clean! They are fast and super friendly. I love the people who work there.

Very nice small local place with a good story and happy employees. Even though the store stays very packed and busy in the morning the service is fast. The employees obviously know what they are doing. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because I wish the store was slightly cleaner than when I came in. Other than that it’s hard to beat the store.
