***UPDATE - I made it to Southern Maid before I return to California. Their donuts are as good as I remember them. I bought enough to take back with me and share with friends. The line was long, but it was worth the wait!!!Even though this place was closed for the holidays when I went there, Im still giving them 5 stars! I now live in CA and everytime Im in Odessa I stop at Southern Maid. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because its a childhood favorite and Im glad theyre still in business. Im always satisfied with their donuts!!!

Amazingly awesome… good thing I am not local because I would the next applicant on my 600lb life. You gotta try them…. Be prepared to wait a few minutes in the drive thru… the morning line of cars proves they make donuts right!

Im so used to fresh hot doughnuts and this was not it...they were probably old doughnuts because they were stacked high at closing time I would assume they do that frequently. But not my cup of tea...

I visited Odessa last month and my first stop was here, only to be disappointed. Donuts are not the same. The new owners must have changed the recipe of dough and donuts taste more doughy. Years back these donuts were the best. Donuts were a lil crispy and so delicious. Wish old owners would buy this place back so they could bring back those good ole Southern Maid Donuts.

Lots of history in this little donut shop! Kind of tricky to get to and probably just an average tasting donut, but knowing Elvis had been here and loved them was enough for me. Staff seemed like they didnt want to be there, but the building was cute and they had a fair selection of donuts. We had a chocolate, banana nut and a cherry filled.

I called ahead to place an order for some kolaches, only when I got there did I learn it was cash only. Wouldve been good info to have.

I love this place and it’s always busy for a good reason. The donuts are so good and the service is always great. I even went in to pick up 16 dozen donuts and they were so amazing and able to fill my order. I don’t plan on doing that again without an order request. I feel like everyone I know here loves Southern Maid and the green box is iconic. My son’s favorite donut is the red cherry one and their donut holes. They only take cash, by their prices are great. They also offer drinks like milk, chocolate milk, juice and water. If you’re getting donuts for a group or co workers or even just yourself, this is the place to go.

I called to ask if they carried a certain product to which they said they did. I responded that I would be there in a minute to pick up said product. Parking lot only fits a MAXIMUM of 4 vehicles (I was the 4th vehicle and had to park sideways obscuring the view of the people exiting the drive thru. When I arrived, the door said window only, which I assume now is some sort of way of saying drive thru only. Im thinking okay, so their dining area is closed, Ill just head to the drive thru. When i get their (i had to go through a back alley because the lot is so poorly designed), i found there were no less then 10-12 vehicles in line! Assuming it takes 1-2 minutes to prepare each order, that would be a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 25 minutes to get 2 donuts! NO THANK YOU! I went to jack and jill- no line and got to eat inside too.

Haven’t been in a very long time. It’s not the same anymore, like everything it has changed. I guess they sold to new owners and it will probably be a very long time before I go back. Didn’t feel welcome when I walked in. Lady at front was not friendly, I had to wait on glazed donuts and I looked in back while waiting and man in back looked at me liked what the f*** do you want. Taste was not there either used to be best donuts anywhere well that has changed also

I love southern maid donuts. Ive been away from odessa for 5 years, I came for a visit to sit in the line for 30 minutes to get to the window to find out they still dont except debit cards. Its 2020 please get a card reader!!!!

Pulled in the parking lot. Saw 2 different ladies frosting the donuts with her bare hands. Pressing the donuts in frosting with the palm of her bare hand. I also saw a little boy running around while she was frosting the donuts. Playing on the same table she was working on. I pulled right back out the parking lot. The place just look unsanitary.🤢🤮

I stopped in recently with my grand children for a dozen Assorted. Every bite was excellent. In the early sixties I would ride my bike to Southern maid donuts and get several dozen to go sell. It was so long ago that a dozen donuts was 60 cents a Box and I got to keep 20 cents of that .

The fact that if you come later in the day and theyre out of a lot of their stuff tells you why everyone loves SM donuts, there is nothing they serve that isnt sweet heaven, Ive had SM since I was a kid back in the 80s and still to this day they have not changed a thing, theyre just as good today as they were back in the day. My favorite donut place in the world. always fresh and delicious, you just have to be quick to get there and get them. i only give 4 stars because sometimes i dont have cash and they only accept cash. invest in a card machine or even a square to get those extra profits being missed by customers like myself. other than that, love your donuts.

Donuts look as bad as they taste! This place is really dirty inside and only takes cash. All the fruit flavors are full of artificial flavors and dyes. How this place is in business is beyond me. Not to mention- the cash only business makes this place seem super sketchy.

Cash only! Number one thing you need to know. There donuts are delicious! They are a bit smaller than average, and they are crisper on the outside. The regular kolaches are small, but the jalapeño ones are average. I love their cinnamon rolls.

Not really nutritious, but most devotedly delicious. I recommend that one closes their eyes to savor each bite. Ultimately, Southern Maid was able to capture the clouds, deep fry them, and drench said clouds in icing.

There is no other donut like the Southern Maid donut! Since I was a kid, my family and I have been coming to this location to partake in the best donuts in Texas (eat your heart out, Krispy Kreme).My all time favorite are the glazed vanilla cake donuts, but the cinnamon rolls run a very close second.As an aside, this location is much friendlier and well maintained than the one on Andrews Highway. I highly recommend visiting this one instead.

Hands down best donuts in west texas only receive 4 stars because of limited employees. Which under stable not everyone wants to work at a donut shop.
