Jake was able to get me in for electrical repair for my suburban and trailer. It works great now! Perfect! Gordon is great for questions and is very knowledgeable about everything cars and trucks. Anything with wheels really. The job was finished a day later than expected because one of the mechanics injured his knee. We didn’t need it quickly so that was fine. They communicate with us all the time and let us know what is going on. Been going there for probably 25-30 years. James is awesome. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

They performed an overall assessment of repairs needed for a 2002 Cadillac that had been parked for several years. They needed to get the vehicle started as I requested, and replaced the battery to accomplish that. They communicated with me regularly the status of the assessment and what was needed and the estimated cost to complete the repairs and asked me if I wanted them to continue. They were thorough, efficient, friendly and very knowledgeable. I will definitely use them again for any auto repairs I may need. I am extremely satisfied with their service the costs and recommend them to anyone that needs auto repairs.

Brought in my 88 Supra to have the brakes looked at and the headlights fixed. Was concerned about if they could do it and their price, but they ONLY did the work required and what they were able to do. They explained they dont really work on cars this old, but still were done before the end of the day, told me what the brake issue was, and fixed my light issue for barely any money at all. Will be returning.

We have been coming to Checkpoint for years. They have been with us as our family grew from 2 to 5 drivers. They are more than a service shop! Gordon has helped educate us in choosing many vehicles to keep our 3 daughters safe, bringing in many cars for pre purchase inspections. We actually moved about 30 minutes away and tried 2 other shops local to our new area, but they don’t compare in customer service, communication, or value. Checkpoint motors is the epitome of a neighborhood shop that cares about you as a customer!

Best experience I’ve had add a mechanic shop in 20 years have a high-performance vehicle I’ve spent $40,000 on in the last six years and this shop is incredible!! First time here. Would have given 5 stars except for my original appointment was rescheduled due to an employee being out, not their fault. Came in for an oil change and it was done before I finished my walk so pretty quick!

I had a leaking water pump, and could not find a shop that could get me in for over a week. I was getting stressed out, especially since this weekend is gonna be nice outside, and was hoping to do a fun trip somewhere. I did some searching around online, and found checkpoint motors, and saw all the great reviews, and oh boy where the reviews right.I was able to get my car in right away. They changed my water pump out, along with the timing belt, and my car runs like a brand new car now. They where very fast in efficient. Knowing I was probably gonna have to have the timing belt changed out as well, I was really stressing the cost, but it ended up being quite a bit less that what I was expecting, which brought me a lot of relief. Everyone was super friendly, and very knowledgeable. They made what was going wrong easy to understand.They never once tried to up sell me anything, or pressure me. This place, and all the people here are amazing.From now on, I will always take my car to checkpoint motors.

We love Checkpoint! Had to have my husband’s 1500 RAM truck towed there. Wouldn’t start, electrical issue. Gordon and the crew got it up and running, quoted what they charged us and we are back on the road.

Complete disappointment. My window wouldn’t raise. I called and they said it’d be $60-$100. I misunderstood that this was just the price for them to look at it and give a quote. Then I got the quote:$550. I looked up the broken part on Google: $45-$75 from multiple locations. So I asked what their cost was for the part: $150. They explained they need to include mark-up for warranty, etc. I then asked how long it would take to fix it. 1-2 hours, they said... so is their labor rate $200-$400/hr? I told them I’d be there to pick it up and I’d fix it myself. He then tried to haggle with me, asking what price I needed. What I NEEDED, was a trustworthy mechanic!!! Clearly I won’t find one here!I bought the replacement motor/bracket assembly for $60 including shipping. It showed up 3 days later, and it took ME(hardly a licensed auto mechanic, mind you) 2 hrs to fix the window.Oh, they did charge me $65 for their “service “, so all told I spent $125 to fix my window. Now I need to find an honest mechanic.

Got my valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and wires replaced and got an oil change. Their customer service is spectacular and my car hasnt run this great in a long time! Really disappointed paid for an fix on my car involving my egr got told it was going be repaired and that they found out the problem get it back the day they said it was ready and nothing got fixed the engine light came back on and car still wasn’t solved. It’s extremely frustrating because I have children and was expecting my car to be repaired instead I have to wait another day on my car

First off I want to start off by saying I dont normally write reviews but with the exceptional experience I had with there business I think they deserve one. It started off with a failed thermostat on my NC Miata. I went the route of replacing it myself. The seal had been pinched and the housing had been damaged in the process by my hands . Long story short after they had diagnosed the issues through the proper route and means they fixed it for a very decent price; I was worried I would be price gouged but everything turned out just the way I expected to be, other than one minor inconvenience. Overall i would rate them around a 4.7 star. My motivation has to do with my interior got pretty dirty and scuffed on the left side door, not a big deal to me but to some people that can be a big issue . Kevin at the front desk was very helpful, communicative and nice in person and on the phone. Good job guys keep it up!

Checkpoint always does a good job. They work hard to accommodate your schedule and get work done on time. They make recommendations but don’t sell stuff your car doesn’t need. Have been using them for several years and will continue to do so.

They have very good customer service and they’re a very honest shop which is hard to find nowadays . They’re straight shooters and will tell what your vehicle needs and what can wait . I will definitely be a returning customer and recommend them to my friends .

Had to have my Honda Element towed in due to a bad starter. The staff was friendly starting with the initial phone call through picking up my car after repairs were made. They were quick on the repair and the cost came in under what they initially quoted (which was reasonable). I needed a lot of work done on my ‘03 Tacoma before a big drive to move across country. It wasn’t the cheapest but it was definitely worth it. They put in the work and my truck made the 5000 mile drive through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee! No issues. I appreciate all the effort to get me home safely.

Had made appt for Pressure test for coolant. Greeted by employee at desk with can I help you I explained I had an appt at 9:30am. He replied pressure test? I affirmed, he said Keys? Repeated my phone # and said Ill call you. I asked how long? Bout an hour, or a little longer I went for a walk, came back, announced i would be in the waiting room as my phone battery was low. Its now 10:45, at 11:30. I go back to counter, Employee now eating lunch, I inquire about my car, he checks computer and says looks like the water pump.. give me awhile and Ill work you up a quote.Came back 15 min later and employee still eating. I told him Im not waiting any longer and want to take my vehicle. I paid a fair price for the test - no complaints there, but way short on customer service. I was looking for a long term relationship with a local mechanic. Terrible first impression.

These guys are amazing!! I got a kitten and before we got it in the box it managed to get into the dashboard of my car. We tried to get it out for an hour with no luck, so I decided it was time to go get some help. Its not everyday they hear can you help me get a kitten out of my dashboard but they were so quick to help in any way they could. They got parts of the dash removed and got my baby out safely and into the box in less than 20 minutes, all while talking to her and making sure they were being careful about how they moved her. I can honestly say that they have the best prices and service around. Gordon is amazing. Never pushy but very forthcoming with advice when asked. The ethics and attitude towards me were not that of someone new to town, or knew nothing so could he taken advantage of, but of a family they had know and taken care of before.
