They only had 2 bar staff last night at the reggae gigHuge queue your loss!Employ 4 barman sell more drinks! We ended up going upstairs its quicker
Really disappointed with the booking manager here as we had a show lined up for 4 artists with our booking agent and they cancelled almost last minute due to her asking a simple question of how tickets were going and it loses us income and not being able to recover another date with another venue. During this pandemic and in general this is not how you treat musicians or people.
Found this place coz my daughter was playing a gig there with her band. (CowTippers - follow them on Insta! 😁) Lovely little venue, tucked away below the street. Loved the bare limestone brick walls, the ambience and the cosiness. Food was decent and the Pirates Ale outstanding. Pretty good crowd for a weekday event.
I Saw the Photos of this place on my Google Maps app and and saw one of my favourite things on the music world - a Disco Ball 😁❤️🥰💛🎉🥇🕺🕺🕺🕺😍
Lets just say it an interesting place with interesting people... I enjoyed my time there I love live music so thats what drew me there was definitely entertaining... worth a visit.
Great vibe, nice music.
One of the best choice of beers on tap and spirits at the bar. Great smoker/bbq menu.5+ stars
Very cool hidden away underground bar, have great live music
Top staff, good vegan food, great drink selection and awesome tunes.
Awesome live venue great feel to the place
Excellent atmosphere
Cool venue, love the space, and upon first appearance a good selection of drinks, but its actually quite limited, and not cheap!Live music was awesome, keep supporting live music. Its great that this venue exists.
This cosy little venue has been known by a variety of names over the years but it has always been an ardent supporter of local live music. Its underneath the Norfolk Hotel, and has a bit of a speakeasy vibe about it. Local beers on tap, friendly staff, and great bands to discover.
Good customer service, reverberations from music and drinks variety.
Best little whiskey bar in Perth. Seriously huge range of spirits, and live music.
Edgy basement with a cool aesthetic. Plenty of live music and the drinks are pricey. Someone introduce them to a fan for Gods sake.
Awesome deck to chill out with a cold beer in your hand. This is now one of my favorite places to relax.
Awesome bar and place to go
Some good indie music here tonight with head act spring peaks rocking it.
Great food, drink and atmosphere
Great concert venue for the smaller shows. Friendly bar staff and good selection of beers. Can also order food from the Norfolk above and have it delivered while you enjoy the entertainment.
Had the best night of my life here. Entering through the neon stairwell I descended into a veritable carnival of the rich and famous. Only there to see a local band I was a fan of I was quick to discover that more than just the usual c-listers had turned up. Nicole Kidman held court near the arcade machine, larger than life filling the room with her presence despite her slight frame. Joe Pesci handed out life lessons to anyone whod listen whilst Kirin J Callinan dressed as a jester juggled ominously in the corner to a crowd of confused onlookers. I caught Travis Pastrana crushing pickle-backs at the bar and at one point saw Sir Barry Humphries get forcibly removed after leering a little TOO suggestively at one of the younger ladies in the joint. A little unsure I wasnt dreaming as the cameos continued, I was confronted abrupt by Danny DeVito leaving the mens room, PISS STEAKS! he yelled an inch from my chin shaking me roughly by the shoulders before lumbering awkwardly onwards muttering to himself... I thought that would have to be all at this point but much to my surprise I witnessed John Butler scurrying around the room with a plaid flannel soaking up the condensation from peoples glasses before swiftly admonishing them for wasting water and continuing on to the next dewy vessel. All-in-all a good night the band were sick, the staff were lovely and the booze was cold and affordable. 10 on 10, back of the net.
Great underground venue with a wide selection of whiskeys and rum!
Awesome live music venue
Such a cool hidden venue! Great vibe, stone walls with a cellar feel, large variety of drinks and hosts lots of gigs. We went and saw Amistat perform and loved the intimate setting.
Great music - local artists, great vibe and good bar - exactly what a live music venue should be..
Gin collection to die for
Assuming that by aardvark you mean Norfolk Hotel bar? If so then yes, its a great spot for food and drink!
Live music was great! Nicely tucked away, love it and will be back.!
Good location. Great atmosphere
Great place for a gig but the night we were there it was literally 6 deep at the bar.
Went to see Lucy Peach and have a drink, all good. Not too sure why the name change from The Odd Fellow as the place kind of feels and looks the same.
Nice little underground bar beneath the norfolk hotel. Great Gin selection and we had a cool band play the night we were in attendance 41/2☆ ..... 5☆ if decor updated
Really great underground place with live music to discover.
No cocktails these days but still a good night out. Nice bands making there way forward
Nice control of the audio, good vibes, will come back again
Great intimate music venue with great whiskey options
They use to do awesome cocktails .... :(
Great underground bar. Home to some awesome local gigs and great tap beers
Great intemate venue for live music, nice limestone walls and a well stocked bar
Lovely place
Open late, great booze, cool fitout and knowledgeable barstaff, all you need in a bar. just wish it was 7 nights a week!
Great atmosphere. Not very set up for larger group gatherings though.
Used to be good when it was the Oddfellow. Now its called the Aardvark. We walked in and were immediately accosted to pay $5 each to listen to two girls fresh out of high school who had each learned to play one note on their Fisher Price electronic keyboards. The default Nokia ringtone is more entertaining. My dismay at the musical talent was heightened by the now reduced bar menu. Apparently being a whiskey bar was too hard so my favourite tipple of whiskey sour was too much for the bar staff to handle and instead i had to enjoy the stench of overflowing sewage from the toilets upstairs in the Norfolk.
Great live music and atmosphere.
