The cheesesteak was ok. It was tender meat but there wasn’t much flavor. I will say that it is fast service and the place is clean but it was also pretty empty when I was there. The mozzarella sticks were good but two out of five had no cheese left in them.

Food was ok. I got the sweet potato fries, but they were undercooked and not edible; however i was able to get some regular fries at no additional cost. Good customer service goes a long way with me so Ill return.

Great lunch spot. I always get the Zypher. Thats steak, mushroom, onions and cheese. The horseradish Tiger sauce really makes it. Train theme restaurant with great ice cream shakes and sundaes.

Has been one of my favorite lunch spots for years. Theyve been slowly raising their prices and today the soda cup they handed me was tiny so unfortunately I may not be able to come in as often.

This has always been my familys go to for good cheesesteak. Not any more. Our last visit was beyond underwhelming. The meat was flavorless and the canned mushrooms added so much moisture to the sandwich it fell apart. Sorry, but it looks like this visit will be our last.

Have always enjoyed eating here when we come to town but this is our last time. The customer service was terrible. We tried to let someone know and they too had a bad attitude. They don’t deserve your money. Go elsewhere.

Delicious Philly cheese steak sandwiches with good fries! The staff was friendly and helpful in deciding what to get for the first-timers I was there with. My go to is the super chief. $15 for a large delicious sandwich, fries sand a drink is a good deal in my book.

Sandwiches are large enough to share and are actually quite nice. Went in with low expectations and came out eating crow. (After the tasty sandwich and fries of course)

We used to really enjoy this place but it doesn’t seem the friendly fun place to go anymore. The food is still decent but I think the COVID has made people forget social skills. I hope they continue to thrive as a business but they need to make it a happy, inviting place again.

Very satisfying Philly cheesesteak! Get the super chief with horseradish and youll be in for a treat. They have arcade games too which radiate nostalgia. Its a little weird to get to the building if youre coming from the South, so beware but not deterred

I really love their Super Chief sandwich. Paired with some cheesy bacon fries and its about as good as a meal can be. Theres rarely very long of a wait, and their prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend checking them out if youve never been.

Their Philly is very below average. Low quality steak, cheese, and bread was way too chewy. Tenders were not crispy. 2 stars because the honey mustard was pretty good.

This was our 3rd time ordering Delivery from Chartroose Caboose. Every time there was something missing from our order, something under cooked, and our most recent order burnt bread as stiff as can be. This place was our favorite philly steak place until now. AVOID at all cost $$$

This is one of our favorite places to eat. They have a variety of Phillies. My husband likes the Katy, which is just meat and cheese and extra cheese. I try different ones with onions, peppers, and mushrooms. We also get a side of au jus for dipping. They have really good onion rings too. So delicious!

I visited the first Chartreuse Caboose within 2 weeks of when it opened. The product is nearly identical to my memory. Just a little salty. Still an excellent choice for lunch or dinner.I really love this place. I thought they had all gone out of business didnt know theyd expanded. I was THRILLED to find out they had.

Had the super chief. It was just a mediocre sandwich. Way too much juice was coming out of it nothing really wowed me about this restaurant. The atmosphere wasnt even really a Pleasant atmosphere to me. The people that work there it doesnt seem very friendly and one of them was constantly staring at me while I was cleaning the lobby.

Good sandwiches and locally owned! Nice little family owned restaurant with a good classic flavor. The regular classic philly style sandwich will run you about $9 and a combo is about $4 more. A little on the pricey side if you ask me, but its pretty good. Ive been here several times, and will probably be back. This isnt my regular go to place, but its always a nice change. The meat is tender and juicy, and most importantly, made fresh to order.

Wish we could leave zero stars! Ordered a veggie rice bowl, a zephyr and onion rings. I had already paid to find out they were out of onion rings. They tried to convince me they were the same price as the fries... No, they were more. After waiting several minutes because neither employee new how to make our food, another woman comes up to say they were out of rice too. While waiting for her, the two other employees simply leaned against the counter looking at us. Never going back!!

Food has gone downhill. Mushrooms and onions barely cooked. Sandwiches used to be cooked to order. Now it is as if the ingredients were cooked in advance. Not a good meal!

I got the fire chief and it was SUPER salty, almost to the point I couldn’t eat it. Wouldn’t recommend this place and am not interested in giving it a second try.

It’s so hit and miss! Bread is inherently always soggy (refer too photo) and doesn’t seem to support the content. The ratio was off today for sure, with the bulk of my sandwich (the super chief extra cheese) and it’s soggy bread in a matter of 2 mins max. The fries are the most lazy fries-not even salted. I grew up on 87th street- and I can’t figure it out, Lenexa is better EVERY TIME. I am curious why? But my satisfaction was RELIABLE, 100% EVERY TIME! I wish Metcalf at least catered this “87th street secret” I live 2 minutes away from metcalf, and I would drive to Lenexa for this Philly ANY DAY! I think Lenexa should contest the validity of others who claim “Best Philly” I’d choose Lenexa Chartroose Caboose any day! (I feel like it’s in the bun, or like a seasoned skillet- I don’t know. When I crave a philly- Lenexa Chartroose wins every timeBelow is example of my usual philly from Metcalf Overland Park!

Wish they had White American Cheese for an authentic Philly experience. Also they were out of Big Red soda and didnt bother to cover the dispenser up so others who wanted it could be warned and notified.

I got a double burger with cheese and grilled onions. It was ok. The onions had a bell pepper flavor to them, but thats likely because they are cooked with them for the philly cheesesteaks. Burger overall was large, but average. I probably wont go back

The Phillys he are really good and the have great portions. Jalapeños poppers and amazing. And the staffing very friendly. There I a little bit of a line but the staff is very quick.

Decent cheesesteak. Although expensive, it is high quality steak. I had the super chief and a side of fries and it was $11. Thats about what the steak sandwich is at Panera. I knew it was expensive going into it.The lady behind the counter was friendly enough. It was. Very quick visit. In, no line, order, fill up some to go cups of steak sauce, look at phone briefly, food is ready.It was hot. It was delicious. It was Chartroose Caboose.

This place is an institution. First trip back to KC in 6 years. Stayed 3 days. Ate here 3 times. Thats about as good a recommendation that I can come up with.

I had ordered for dine in and she bagged up so a waste of containers. I asked for KC Southern with steak and with wheat wrap and received on white hogie roll. The line was too long to wait to have fixed. My philly was just average on the Zephyr. In the past I love the food here but not today. I am not sure I am willing to try again for what it cost for everything. Very disappointed with our lunch today.

Food is always good and it seems that the prices have been the same for years making it afforable to eat there with your family. Really cool atmosphere with lots of train decor the kiddos are sure to enjoy.
