We went, took our daughter after a hot day at the park, thinking “Oo nitrogen, science, ice cream, yeah!” The menu looked like it had promise and it took us a while to decide, but we waited 30 minutes to get ice cream.I have to take care to consider they were training a new person and yes all restaurants are tough on staff right now (so pay your employees more?) but that’s one of those times as a trainer you should step in and help. Also just a suggestion, have fun with making the ice cream! You’re freezing it in nitrogen, make it fun! Especially for a kid! Finally, the product wasn’t really even that good. My husband got the key lime and pretty much threw it away immediately. My daughters chocolate mix it up whatever was okay. My Italian ice was probably the best of the three, super dense shaved ice that melts in your mouth like snow.I think the ice cream would have been good if made with a sense of urgency and kept getting colder longer. If I were to go back I’d probably try the almond milk soft serve.
I absolutely love this place! I cant have dairy at all and they always accommodate me so well. They wash their instruments before making my ice cream to ensure there is no cross contamination and they can either use coconut milk or almond milk as the base for the ice cream. They are also very nice and polite! Love going there and I love that I finally have a place to go get dairy free ice cream. Its the best!
Not only does this place serve amazing ice cream that has so many options for customizing your experience, the process of making it is fun to watch. The staff get you involved and help with explaining how the process works. They have menu items that are very good but I have enjoyed trying different mixes. Haven’t had one yet I would order again.
Wow this ice cream is incredible! It’s in a great location … just kind of hidden. Highly recommend. Yum! Vegan options too! Perfect !
I tried the original base with chocolate flavor plus some toppings. Ice cream flavor (recipe) was kind of subpar and hot fudge wasnt actually hot. The service was friendly and prompt, though, and they have a huge variety of interesting options. I think Ill try the custard base next time!
Incredibly smooth and delicious. I had the original cream, and it’s so much better than traditional mass-produced ice cream. The cherry flavor with cherries added in was fantastic!Service was quick and very friendly.
This was my first time going here and it was awesome. Everyone was friendly, the prices were average and the ice cream tasted amazing! Give it a go!
Vegan, lactose free, original, custard....oh my. The flavor options are so numerous because they make it to order. I love this concept! We rode 7 miles just to get there and I will certainly do so again. (The shop was harder to find than expected. I think the sign was hard to decipher from a distance. It is tucked in by JC Penney/Dave and Busters.)...did I mention vegan? That is super exciting for me. I was able to enjoy a flavor from my childhood and it did not cause any digestive irritation.
It was good. Lots of options. The liquid nitrogen is a real cool trick and the kids loved the cloud! On par with Marble Slab or Coldstone probably.
Delicious ice cream made on the spot! The costumer service is good, the establishment is clean, safety measures are in place.Ive been here about 8 times, but Ive only tried 1 thing. The chocolate conduction, I think its called. To describe this supremely tasty treat, Id say its chocolate with chocolate chocolate and chocolate. Thats what Im talking about!Wouldve been five stars but the hours are so bad, most of the time that I want it they are closed
We had delicious ice cream and the employees were friendly. Over all it was a pleasant experience.
Really fun place to go with the family...highly recommend!
First time there, was an interesting way to see your desert made before your eyes to eat/drink.
Such a unique place! They make the ice cream right in front of you!!!
Amazing ice cream. Such a unique taste and a cute little shop!
So delicious! Definitely a fun treat. Staff is quick and polite. We will be back soon!
Small place with so much flavor and style. Its by far the best ice cream Ive ever had. Definitely would recommend this place to everyone.
So much fun to watch the creation of your tasty dessert!
Amazing experience for me and the family and the icecream tasted amazing and was decently priced
Don’t waste your money. Spent $10 on two very small scoops that are really no different from ice cream, the scoops were literally not even half a cup. I tried to order a soda that was on the menu but they couldn’t tell me whether they had the ingredients, when I called back they said they did, passed me to another person and said they didn’t. Still not sure what they have but very sure the scoops were so small it might’ve cost .50 elsewhere but it was $10. If I could give a negative star i would.
A bit pricy💰 for what you get. Also they advertise having a waffle cone🍦 in the bowl but they don’t actually put that there unless you request it. Shame. Lol but it’s cool to make them watch. The ice cream isn’t as sweet tasting as normal. I love how they have options for vegan, lactose, and others. Very considerate. I wasn’t sold when I started eating it. Because it just didn’t have the same flavor as ice cream but the owner came over and asked how we were doing and he started explaining the process of making their ice cream and what the benefits are so that sold me a bit more. 😂😬 being kind to your customers go a long way!
First time go. It was good
Way cool. Staff was friendly. Seemed really pricey for very little ice cream. The process is very interesting but it seems like you are paying for the quick demonstration and not the product. And it melts extremely fast so be aware if you order to go. It might be all melted by time you get home. Quality of ice cream was excellent.
Customer Service was Grade A++++! They explained not only the flavors but the process of making the ice cream. Great environment and staff. My wife and I will defenitely be back. P.S The Magnetic Mint was AMAZING! 👍👍👍
Super cool experience! Highly recommend at least once. Lots of different cream options (including vegan!) And tons of flavors and add ins. Cost is pretty steep though (primary reason for my rating). I got a small with 2 add ins and after tax and a $1 tip it was just over $7 for what amounted to be a single scoop of ice cream. Fun experience, really yummy, but probably wouldnt go again.
We decided to try this place and it was well worth it very friendly staff and very helpful with recommending flavors. Very good ice cream. 👍🏼👍🏼
Came in 30 minutes before closing and the staff were still very kind and accomadating. The Peanut Butter Bonds and the rest of my groups ice cream was great.
Tastes amazing! one should try out the coffee and chocolate chip. Yes! its expensive for its quantity..
Went here with some friends and my mom after we had dinner. Never been here before but I was very interested to see how they make their ice cream. its pretty cool to watch whats premade flavor you would like or you can build one. I chose the build my own. Got the strawberry cream with strawberry. They put the liquid nitrogen into the mixing bowl with the cream and right before your eyes its all cool with the smoking effect of the ice as they keep mixing, My flavor was good. But after trying my friends mango or charcoal, I definitely want to come back for that.
If you are looking for a different and unique ice cream shop then this is your place! It is a cool experience to watch them make your ice cream right in front of you. It truly is creamier from it being so fresh.
Nice family owned business, not to mention the fantastic deserts they make. If you havent experienced the liquid nitrogen experience, your missing out on one of the sweeter things in life. YUMMY 😁
Good place the service is great
They got the goods and the flavors. All I think of is Mortal Kombat with this place lol. Have a video game ice cream day 🤷👅
I was thoroughly disappointed with our experience at sub zero nitrogen ice cream. I had purchased a $20 Groupon deal a few months back and gifted it to my child. When we showed up, four of us ordered ice cream which was way overpriced by the way. The cheapest thing you can get is like $6.50 for a “small“ one scoop cup.Regardless, we had all ordered which the bill was around $30 at the end and then he went on to tell me “we no longer sell Groupon“. I went to clarify and asked “you do not sell them, or you do not redeem them?“ maybe with his broken English I’m not sure he knew what he was saying, but he continued to say “we do not sell groupon here“. It was a complete embarrassment and disappointment for everyone in our party. We were headed out to ice cream to celebrate my daughter’s dance recital, but it ended up being a super stressful experience instead.Plus the gentleman, whom appeared to be the owner, was completely inflexible and provided us horrible customer service. Unless you want to pay a small fortune for average ice cream, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Had a Groupon for this place and went way out of our way to stop by. Thought it would be fun for the family. When we finally found the location, there were signs on the door stating that Groupon was not accepted. If they are not honoring the Groupons people already purchased, those people should have been contacted to let them know.
It was cool to watch and tested delicious! Might be my new favorite place. Small, not a ton of indoor seating but also had outdoor seating when it is warmer out. I got peanut butter flavoring with Oreos. 😋
Absolutely outstanding!!! Already my new favorite ice cream place after just a few visits. The Ice cream really is the creamiest Ive had and the flavor combo possibilities are seemingly endless and delicious. Beyond that, the shop is clean and well-maintained and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. I wish the location was easier to get to so that everybody knew about this gem.
A fascinating experience, watching liquid nitrogen in action. However, the flavor is lackluster.
Fun place for a special treat. Ice cream was delicious, but pricey. Staff was super nice. The design of the store is cool but it is so loud in there due to high ceiling.
Really delicious, on the pricy side but is totally worth it. COVID conscious as well!
Really good ice cream made from scratch! Not inexpensive but good quality. Everything was fresh.
Soooo good I really recoment the dragon balls.
Enjoyed the service. But the dairy free option came out a little too frozen. Kinda chunky but the flavor was there it was pricey tho. But I’m just glad to see a dairy free option!
My husband and I decided to check this place out when I was 9 months pregnant due to another craving for ice cream of mine (or should I say of my baby’s???). We definitely didn’t regret it - we just regret there isn’t one near Lee’s Summit for us! Unfortunately this one is pretty far from where we live. Maybe one day!!
Was expecting a gimmick and was surprised with how good the ice cream was. Mix in was good ratio in each bite and overall experience was cool, especially for kids. Hard to find if youre not familiar with the area, but dont give up its worth a try for a different twist on ice cream.
The people were SUPER friendly, and it was so delicious. Makes me sad to see there not getting much business. EVERYONE needs to check it out!!
What a cool experience, literally. First time Ive seen ice cream made using liquid nitrogen. Worth a visit just for the awesome science stuff going on, worth many return visits because it tastes great!
It was our first time here, and I’m really upset I’ve never been before! Staff was extremely nice, especially the guy who helped up order. This is officially my favorite ice cream place! The ice cream is delicious and awesome to watch being made. Prices are reasonable and there’s a lot of choices to pick from!
I saw this place when I was going to Dave & Busters with a friend. We decided to stop by after. When we had the ice cream, it was very creamy. I like ice cream that is creamy. The employees are very friendly and it is fun to watch your ice cream be made with liquid nitrogen.
Such great service and delicious ice cream made right in front of you! Will definitely come back!
Super nice workers & vegan shake was so good :)
I had a basic sugar-free vanilla shake, and I was terrified of how bad it would taste. However, it tasted just like a real shake! The price for the size of the shake was a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place if you havent tried it! Its a little hidden, but its a quick walk from Dave and Busters.
I brought my kids in to this place by chance. The guys working there took their time to not only wall us through the menu, but also to educate us about how the liquid nitrogen works. They have a dairy free option as a base as well which I love!!
Such an awesome place! The staff was wonderful and the concept is unique and fun! Combines my love of ice cream and science! My son loved it and we will be coming back a few more times while we’re in town!
Great little ice cream shop in Overland Park! Its delicious and fresh made every time. Crazy good flavors to test out and nice people that manage it.
The GF decided frozen yogurt was on the menu tonight after dinner. We googled frozen yogurt and Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice cream was one the first ones to pop up. We called ahead to see if they offered a Fat free yogurt and they do, then we called again because our gps didn’t seem to take us directly there. Both times we called Ash and Beth were friendly and gave us good accurate directions. Once we arrived we were impressed by the atmosphere. Attached is a video of how they made it. The original plan was to bring it home to eat later, but the Mocha Madness, and the Tropical Turbine didn’t make it a quarter of the way through the drive. Beth and Ash were friendly, and for that I thank you both. 5/5 stars!
The ice cream is PHENOMENAL! Enjoyed the Chocolate Conduction. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Nice, clean atmosphere..the dragon balls were pretty cool.
Great ice cream but can take a bit to make.
Im usually a cake person but I ate the entire cup of the keylime pie ice cream. Its so good. Well definitely be back.
Just stumbled upon you guys and am so glad I did. The ice cream is amazing, something for everyone (V and Dairy free options). Plus watching your treat made fresh in front of you with liquid nitrogen is just too cool.
Decent ice cream prepared in a unique way.
Delicious, creamy ice cream available in a great variety of flavors. Also lactose, sugar and gluten free. Vegan selections as well.
Great ice cream and awesome show the 4yr old was mesmerized and hyped for ice cream.
Love it here! The employees are so friendly and love to tell you about their fancy way of making ice cream. Its fascinating and fun to watch!! Always tastes delicious!!
Friendly, only reason they dont get 5 stars is because my wife nor I could eat her Italian ice... To much lemon, and it tasted very artificial...
Worth the experience. My kid really watching the ice cream get made and it was pretty tasty. I would say the biggest pro is that you can make any ice cream flavor you want by taking the base (regular cream, yogurt, lactose free, sugar-free, vegan) and adding flavors and mixins. It is located right next to the JC Penney in Corbin Park. It took me a while to find it because the directions on Google maps werent great.
Great vegan options.Super friendly staff
Staff is always friendly, with active conversations. Helpful with suggestions an fast service. This is a family regular spot.
Fabulously amazing. We will definitely be back!
Definately a place to try at least once. I recommend the KeyLime Pie Mix.
Ice cream is delicious here. Employee made a very cool show for daughter with the liquid nitrogen.
Was an awesome experience!!! And oh so good!!! Cotton candy burrito... Ummm... Yes!!!!
Took my 3 kids after dinner to give it a try. The ice cream itself was fine, nothing better than any other place. The girl working the ice cream bowls said not one word to anyone and didnt smile at all or make eye contact. This was disappointing as she is making ice cream for kids who thought the nitrogen was pretty cool. I get shes probably over it but still she couldve faked it to appease her audience. My order was incorrect but didnt know that until I stated eating. I got a stanadrd creation but was missing two of the four add ins. It was $25 for 4 smalls bowls, which is crazy to me for ice cream. We can say weve tried it but definitely wont be back.
The concept is sublime. Quality is decent. Taste is average.
This was the BEST ice cream Ive had. Also love the fact that its all a science theme. ❤️
Some of the creamiest ice cream I’ve ever had in my life! Well worth the visit!
Great concept. Ice cream is tasty. Explanation of what’s happening when thy are making ice cream would be nice.
Good flavors. Great service. They were super friendly and welcoming 😊
If you have kids who love science then this is a must visit!
Good taste, but the price seems a bit high. Service was very good.
Fantastic experience and a creamy ice cream. Cotton candy burrito is a unique treat!
Fabulous. Great staff. Tonz of fun
Good service. Daughter love the dragons breath!
Sarah was so nice and made my Ice cream just how I wanted
Staff was friendly, treats were tasty, definitely worth the trip.
It was nice to see it turn into ice creamAnd you can pick what you want in it and a base ice cream
