I always find what I want and even things I didnt know I wanted until I got there. Like the layout and how inviting the atmosphere is. Always been met with friendly people ready to help me.

Had an amazing experience here. Like a kid in a candy shop! I love to read and found some really incredible books that were extremely affordable! My kids even enjoyed their time here and found some things they liked. I would definitely recommend to any and everyone who enjoys to read!!

Good customer service told what I need video game an he got right to it

I like this store. They always have a wide selections of things from vinyls to dvds. However they definitely cheat you on trade in. They’ll give you 25 to 50 cents for new or recent things and then put it on the shelf for 20 to 50 dollars. I understand they need to make money but I thinks it’s wrong to cut people out on making a little money too. Especially when they make 200x more off the item. All in all, I would find another place to do trade ins.

The staff is fonomal. The had all the books that I wanted to read. Very nice book selection! Overall a amazing experience would recommend!

The staff are extremely friendly, courteous, and well-versed in their available stock. My husband and I went in looking for a last minute gift two minutes before closing, but they still took the time to help us find the perfect item. We felt bad keeping them to the last moment, but the staff went above and beyond to help us out. We will definitely continue shopping here in the future.

I wasnt at 2nd Charles I was at Martins but I like them both.

Wondered in on the hope to find a specific item. Although limitedon stock it still did not disappoint. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend it if you need something to do and like to read.

Will not be going back,the guy who was working when i was there literally refused to get out of his chair and attempt to help me look for a book,wich by the way was def in stock bc the lady that was behind the counter when i first arrived(she was actually super helpful)looked it up in computer and said it was in stock,also i spent a total of 45 mins looking for the book myself before i asked the man to please help me to wich he replied if you didnt see it we sold it so i informed him that she had already told me it was there so then his excuse was someone must have moved it, wich could have been the case but the fact that i pretty much begged him to help me look and he still refused just made so damn mad

Good place to to find good books to read!

You can find what your imagination is looking for most of the time. And if you cant they will find it and ship it to you. Ive visited this store numerous times and it never disappoints. So take your kids and go enjoy a little reading adventure.

Quiet with a decent selection. Most books can be cheaper on the internet, but most anything is. Being able to go get it right then commands a premium.

Great place if you arent looking for something specific. Tons of fiction, however they barely any self help or financial books. Great prices, I spent hours browsing. 5 stars if they could tell you if they have a specific title in stock and its location

I loved this place! I had never heard of it, and was passing through. Its like a barnes and noble with more emphasis on video games. Great selection of books, games, and toys. The advertise buy/sell/trade. Staff was really nice and helpful.

Great variety! I found a gem in a film that had been out of print for a few years. Unfortunately, the aisles arent wide enough for my wheelchair so if any gems are hiding there, Ill have to wait.

Good selection of books, comics, music, nic nacs, odd stuff, hard to find stuff, pop culture items. Pretty much a little bit of everything pertaining to media and art in all forms.

Sometimes, books are expensive. But also sometimes, they arent.

This place is where disorganization lives. Books are not organized, finding books even in a certain genre are hard to find, and the cluster of table displays are atrocious to say the least. I get they add merchandise and other odds and ends to match the table setting of books. For instance, their horror table of books has horror merchandising such as figurines, key chains, etc. Its a gaming, music, and book store combined into one. At least the store is big enough to house all these things, but that disorganization kills it for me.

The manager Jonathan is horrible he cusses his employees and is very rude customers. I will never go back there the only employee I found that was competent Samantha Mann.

Havent had the pizza in a while. Muffelattas are to die for. Make sure you get the olive mix. (this is for 1st Class Pizza).

It was the first time Id been in there and I loved it. They have such a great selection. When I asked where a certain item was, he came from behind the counter (another person was working with him) and took me to where that kind was. They were polite and the setup is kind of like open concept for a book store. I could stay in that place for hours.

300 bucks worth of stuff will get you 87 bucks store credit or 40 dollars cash. I went with store credit. I could not find anything in the store that I wanted so I asked if I could just get the cash. Nope. I asked if i could just cancel and get my item back . Nope . I feel robbed!

Its very difficult to shop here when I have to sift through the entire fiction and sci-fi sections to find horror books. Ill shop there once they make a dedicated horror section. A table is not enough. I understand if its a dumb corporate policy to not bother making and managing a couple more sections but come on. I might be able to buy your books if I can find what I want. I dont want to walk to the front constantly to ask if you have something. especially when I went into your store with the intention of going to the section of my desired genre and finding something new or old that Ive never heard of but looks wonderful. But I cant do that at the only book store in town so Ill go somewhere else.

Would give a 5 star rating except they had music playing extremely loud. When I asked a staff member why they did, he told me it was because it was a gaming store. Really? Then why do you have so many books? Other than that its a great place. My adult aged, autistic son loves it here!

The reason they lose stars is because they dont always have newer items in stock and the value you get in trade isnt really consistent and can leave you feeling a bit like you just tried trading at GameStop. On the plus side, the store is well organized and does have a nice variety of items.

It has amazing prices, however, the books generally tend to not be current and in the wrong sections.

Love checking out the stuff at my local shop. Biggest drawback is their comic section is so disorganized that it is too hard to find anything you want! And putting more than half your stock on the floor without anything to sit on makes it impossible to enjoy. But their book selection is decent and varied.One note: having the knowledgeable staff actually near the sales areas instead of only being at the cash registers is very disconcerting!

What an awesome store! It is truly an adventure each time I go here, and you never know what you are going to find. Tons of retro games, DVDs, books, and other items.

I love this place! Staff is absolutely great. Excellent and diverse selection of products. I only wish some books were a little cheaper! Although we bough HP Trival Persuit and it was $40 less than online! We drive an hour to go and its worth it.

This place is great. Not many choices in the surrounding areas in the bookstore department so 2nd & Charles is king. Hospitable atmosphere with good selection of books and intuitive organization.

I love this place. Its the only store in town that sells manga, and they actually have a good colection.

Not a fan of this location. Not nearly enough staff to fit the location staff and the amount that they off on purchasing your items is laughable. My advise, sell online if you can. Youll get more for your items. On another note and lot of their used items are also over priced as well. Just my observation.

Love the variety - selection of games tabletop & otherwise. Whole family enjoys hanging out here while we find treasures to take home!

Always friendly people with a great selection to choose from. Pre-covid times they would host card games (Magic, etc) and offered a space to play video games. They have a book buying service I have used before which felt fair to me. Along with books, they host a variety of novelty toys with brands like Pokémon, Pusheen, and more!

Love that I can count on them for my retro gaming needs!!!!

This place is awesome! You can get any book dealing with any subject matter here,and they have a comic selection thats epic! Ive been able to find things there Ive wanted for a long time and its my favorite store in Alabama! The staff there are very attentive and cool to talk with.

Do not like the store. It promotes gaming rather than reading.Yes theres books, yet my 13 yr old Autistic son can never find the next book in the series at this store!We now order from Books a million, or Barnes and Noble online.We wont be entering any of thee stores again!
