The wax was too hot and my waxer had horrible body odor. At first I thought it was me but every time she got closer to me I realized it was her. She also made me very uncomfortable talking about supernatural topics. Between that, her odor and the wax temperature I had a less than pleasant experience. A company that is designed to promote feeling good should be more diligent about making sure its staff takes care of their own personal hygiene
I see Vanessa and she is amazing. Obviously waxing can be awkward but she made me feel 100% comfortable and she was so good it minimized what could have been very painful.
Perhaps the best experience I have had at any professional environment. The wax specialist Yessel was beyond professional, welcoming, comforting and excels at her job. I have had very bad experiences with doing my eyebrows and nose and I was skeptical about waxing. But this experience has changed my life forever. I am forever a believer in European Wax Center all thanks to Yessel. My last appointment was 2 weeks ago and my nostrils are still able to smell the roses and take a breath of this wonderful air we call life. I wish every employee in any establishment left an impact like Yessel has for this company.
This is hard for me to write and I’ve gone back-and-forth about it. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been to this establishment. Overall I never had a bad experience with any of the workers however, my last wax her was it as professional as I would have preferred her to be. She made me feel self-conscious about my bikini/Brazilian Area. Just comment about how sweaty I was and certain hair. I just felt really self-conscious after and kind of embarrassed hence why I haven’t written anything. Hopefully this review can prevent this from happening again to someone else.
Front desk was rude today...I will avoid this center and go somewhere where I will receive the customer service expecte when paying thousands of dollars on wax subscriptions. The waxers are all great, some take twice as long as others but still good,shame they will lose business because of front desk staff.
The front desk lady name Leyla or Leyma had NO personality neither accommodating. Very upsetting to me a long time customer who travels to come here to feel treated the way I was. Hope this location improved there front person.

I had an appointment with Gloria, she is amazing, very professional and nice, made me feel very comfortable and safe. However, the two front desk employees were not very friendly, I didnt feel welcome or comfortable with their attitude.

To start off, I rarely post any reviews unless if it is very important. I visited this location on 11/03/20 and gave it a chance despite the negative reviews. I was given an appointment with Jackie and was taken in very quickly. The wax session was done very quickly, which means it was far from meticulous. When I went home to shower, I realized that a small patch of my skin had been ripped off. Hair was still left over and had been missed when getting my Brazilian. I have been a member with this franchise for over 4 years and have never had such terrible service. I paid for my appointment and even tipped generously, but that does not mean that mediocre service should be given.

L am providing feedback. I had an 8 am appointment today. Today was a rainy Monday morning. I arrived at 8:10 due to weather and my Uber being late. I was told that because I did not arrive within the 8:09 am “window” (9 min window) I missed my appointment. I have been a consumer of many places and have never heard of an odd number minute late courtesy window. I have heard of 10 min and even 15 min but not 9.Further, when I make reservations with your company there is never any mention of this 9 minute window. I think customers should be warned about this in the event they are running a bit late due to weather or transportation (things they cant control). I was there at 8:10 for my service and have been a long time customer of this company both in East Brunswick and in Paramus and it makes me want to completely cancel my service. I was offered an 8:45 am appointment (which interfered with my job) or another appointment with a different wax artist which is not something I would ever consider. I would think during this pandemic that your company would not make such a “fuss” over a 1 minute difference and I am very very disappointed in this experience!
My girl Erika is the best!! She’s fun but efficient. Erika understands her client’s needs and adjust her plan of attack. She’s knowledgeable without being like a robot. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
I hardly ever write google reviews but I have been going to my wax specialist Jackie for years and have always had the best experience with her. She is so funny and kind and always makes me feel so beautiful and confident. Will definitely continue with her for years to come!

We did speak about this on three seperate occasions about the front desk persons poor, insensitive communication and customer service issues, and given memorable ecusues for unaccountabliltiy for the front desk offenders insults and no reparations offered w the hundreds of dollars spent for service over the years. Other locations have very pleasant front desk associates and technicians. Unfortunately, we will no longer book at Bergen Town Center location.

Now I know why this location has 3stars. They should really have 1. Front desk girl Amanda was the most rude person ever . I had my appointment for 11am, due to covid you have to do a scan process etc. I went there with enough time to scan in and wait for my appointment . 3 women came after me for their appointment at 11am as well & were talked to/ taken in instantly . As I continue to wait. 30 minutes later . Amanda finally takes me in. After my wax as I pay Amanda continues to look me up and down as I am checking out . I’ve never been to this EWC but best believe I won’t be back. Disgusting disgusting disgusting service . If you haven’t learned anything these past couple of weeks about equality then you never will learn. Someone like that shouldn’t be at the front of a business if you still want customers .

Editing my previous review which gave this one start for a grumpy receptionist. European Wax Center did not ask me to change this review, Im doing it willingly. Another rep called me after my visit to apologize about the poor front desk service. I do have to say that Heather, my waxer, was fantastic - very professional and welcoming. Hopefully the front desk service will be better next time so customers feel more welcomed and comfortable.
I was recommended by a co-worker 6 months ago. I have done waxing before but this one is the best I have ever tried. And I will never go back any other waxing except this one. The staff are so wonderful and polite. And the employees are so sweet, their very gentle and they talk through the procedure. And I think that is very calming and nice. This review is solely on the front desk. My waxers have been great. But they may very well be effected down the line if this continues, as the front desk leads the train.I normally like to give chances for business to redeem themselves after I make a complaint to the manager in hopes that they fix the issue and the complaint doesn’t make it to social media. However, I think that this will ultimately help the location get better. As customers service should me main priority when customers are spending a decent amount of money on a consistent basis.The front desk manager at this location needs a serious attitude adjustment. Every time I call in she answers the phone in an aggressive manner, and don’t let there be an issue that requires a little extra attention. At my last visit, I inquired about points I may have accumulated as I haven’t use any in a while. She initially ignored my question, and when I asked again she advised that they were from a different location and needed to transfer them. I stood there assuming that this couldn’t possibly be the end of the conversation as she still didn’t advise how many I accumulated as she stood there quietly. (Didn’t look as if she was researching this on the computer) So, I asked again “hey sorry did you find out yet? Or should I just wait next visit” she responded “Yeah they are at a different location and need to be transferred over” in a very passive aggressive tone.I come from a background of customer service. So I know what it is like to give it at your fullest potential and what is it like to not give it at all. I suggest working with the front desk manager in this area. From other reviews, I see that many have an issue with the front desk in general. This place is a hit or miss; depends on which waxer you get. The waxer I had was brand new (right out of high school actually) and did not do a thorough job. She was nice, but when i got home I realized that I had wax all over my body and patches of hair that were not even removed in the areas I got the services! At one point during the wax the heating pot got to the number “198” (which is SCORCHING hot; not safe at all) when it should normally be at “145-155” and she said she didn’t know how it got so high and couldn’t add more wax in to dilute the heat because “she didn’t want to get in trouble”.....or burn a client? They need to train their new hires for more than 3 days (which is how long her training was) before they start talking clients. Considering how much money I spent, I was hoping for a better experience. I was also there for nearly 2 hours since the waxer kept taking breaks and talking to me during the service.

Terrible terrible terrible. I went here and had a full face wax done. My eyebrows came out too thin for my liking and I have naturally thick bushy brows. I woke up the next day with an itchy face. Then bumps started appearing all over my face where the wax touched. I’ve gotten waxed before and I’ve never had this problem. I say to stay away the discount isn’t worth the discomfort. I came in and spoke to the center and the manager said she would contact me the next day and needless to say no one has contacted me. I work retail I see, meet and interact with a lot of people needless to say they will not be getting my business and nor will I be advertising for them.
Sadly I parted my ways with this location today due to unbelievable rude customer service. Never again Ill use this location!!! I had my appointment at 2PM, came in 7 min late. Instead of 2 receptionists at the front desk there was one that was taking her time talking to another customer. I patiently waited until Ill be next. Few minutes later another receptionist walked in and after I gave her my name, she advised me that my technician already took another customer and shell put me with someone else because I was late for my appointment. First off, you dont go telling your customers who come for Brazilian bikini that youll put them with someone else. This is not a type of service that people will be comfortable with just random technicians so please learn that. Second when I pointed out that when I come in for my appointment on time, which always happened for the past more than 3 years, I dont demand be taken right away and always patiently wait for 5 or more minutes to be taken so why does it not work the other way? To that I was told by this receptionist that the rules are to take another customer after 9 min wait. So here we are already arguing for few minutes, another customer is already using my appointment time since at least 2:05 and when I said I can wait for that client to finish so Ill take her time than, I was advised that there is someone else booked right after her. Meaning that someone else was booked for my appointment, used my time and no remorse here. There was no logic here, no apologies and when I asked to speak to the manager, I was advised they dont have managers. Wow, that a great place, receptionists destroying business while there is no one to supervise their behavior and attitude. Oh well, I don need this aggravation for my own money and definitely taking my business someone else. Too sad that one incompetent receptionist is ruling and ruining someones business as I am sure I am not the only one who dealt with such an attitude and rudeness.

Great place to get a Brazilian especially from my girl Heather B. Shes never seize to amaze me. Shes awesome and is the only reason I drive from the bronx NY to New Jersey bergen town center even though there is a location minutes from me. Talk about great customer service

Today European Wax Center in Bergen Town Center gets a two star rating. My review has nothing to do with my waxer; Christine is phenomenal and this has absolutely nothing to do with her services. This review has everything to do with the front staff and how appointments are booked. There is absolutely ZERO customer service at this location. I schedule my wax in advanced for every four weeks (this never changes); I confirmed my appointment the previous day (Friday)at 8 through their new “text” service; come to check in on Saturday for an 9amAppointment to tell me I cancelled my appointment. I had the text messages to prove that I confirmed. The receptionist had a “oh that’s too bad” attitude and gave me options to remedy the situation that only suited the company and not the customer. When asked to speak with a manager there was none available on site. When asked to further investigate the girl told me “someone” cancelled and now there was someone else in my appointment spot. I drive from an hour away to see my specific waxer that I’ve been going to for TWO years. I had to rearrange my schedule to accommodate them when it should be the other way around. The girl at the desk had nothing but attitude, was not understanding and when I returned for a later appointment was told nastily “ you can sit down.” Not once was she apologetic or understanding of the situation. When I asked for the managers contact information so I could follow up I was told “I can’t give that out.” I had to obtain the number for the office and when she would be in from another employees. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. The ONLY saving grace for this location is their waxers. Christine is phenomenal as I mentioned above and is the only reason I will return.

My sister was unable to go to the Westwood location where she had a wonderful 1st experience, so she booked at this location and immediately called me afterward very upset. She had to ask her waxer to go over various areas multiple times, there were a lot of wax particles leftover on her legs (which the woman didnt care about), she was not given any warning to when the wax was going to be removed (even though my sister requested to do so), and felt that the room was unclean and full of hair. The waxer did not pull any of my sisters skin tight and felt that the experience was overall very painful (moreso than her first experience). My sister felt like the waxer was just trying to get out of work as soon as possible and did not care for my sisters comfort or satisfaction. To top it all off, the front desk receptionist made her feel like she was making a mistake for not purchasing a package. She left confident that she would never be returning to that location. This made me so angry to hear that I decided to post a review on her behalf.
It was a horrific experience, Ewa was completely jerk upon my request to go slow as it was my first time with wax. Ewa was very rude, and they wanted charge me for the horrible and incomplete wax on my legs.
If I could give no stars I would! I made the mistake against my better judgement to give the Bergen mall location a 2nd chance ONLY because I liked my technician, unfortunately that technician loses out now because of there AWFUL customer service!! There front desk is the most disrespectful unprofessional people I have ever experienced.
The waxers are all great, but the desk staff is completely incompetent. I always make my next appointment while Im there and THREE TIMES Ive not had another appointment scheduled. They are often too busy on their phones or talking to each other to pay enough attention to get a simple appointment scheduled. Very frustrating...
If I could give this location no stars, I would. The level of unprofessionalism I saw from all employees was absolutely despicable. My waxer simply called my name, and did not say a word to me throughout the wax...Not even a how are you? Needless to say, I looked in the mirror and she left so much hair under my brows that couldve been easily plucked. I feel like I need to be waxed again. I am so unhappy with European Wax Center and will now reconsider ever going back to any location.

I have been all over for Brazilian waxes, including using groupons in my area (I dont suggest it). Ive gone through a few people at a few different EWC and Ive finally found my match! Kristina is AMAZING!!!! Super friendly, quick and gentle, which is a plus because Ive had the opposite and I didnt go back for a year! So glad I decided to go back and met Kristina. If you need a Brazilian shes your girl! Yes prices are a bit high but you get what u pay for and after being severely burned (in a very sensitive area) by trying to save a few bucks, the extra money is worth it!!! And Ive always had a pleasant experience with the front desk girls!
Terrible customer service!! they checked me in and then said, oh wait you are a no show because you are ten minutes past the time. (i routinely wait 15 minutes past my appointment time to be brought inside.) except it took them at least a minute to check me in, so I was there at the 9 minute mark (which the woman informed me was the cut off). they were extremely rude in offering to reschedule and then saying nothing was available--offered another person today, again said oops not available. no eye contact. my waxer, Kristina, came out (I would have been called next) during this whole thing, took the next person, didnt make eye contact and went back in. i will NOT be returning and will make sure to tell my friends and people in my mom groups that they have extremely poor customer service. it was empty today. i wonder why.
European Wax Centers are always clean and professional. Their prices are slightly higher than what youd pay at a whole in a wall nail salon, but if your purchase a package, the prices are very reasonable.
I love Shusma, shes incredible. I have been coming to the Paramus location for years and I must say Shusma works efficiently and her technique focuses on clean, effective waxing. Shell ensure she did her best to help you each time, every time. I got paired with her randomly one day bc I was super late to my appointment. Been having a better experience ever since.

Ive been coming to the EWC at the Bergen mall for a few years now and Tai is the best! She is the only waxer I go to. She is very professional, polite, and friendly! If you come to this location make sure you book your appointment with Tai!
