This HPB store is very neat and clean. There is sufficient staff to help browsers find items. Prices are clearly marked and theres lots of variety.

I called this location a little while ago to ask about a book called The Last Chapter:The Romanovs and Victoria was SO helpful. She told me they have it at the Clear Lake location and also chatted for a bit about the book itself. This is why I LOVE Half Priced Books. The employees are so nice and they make recommendations based on the subjects you ask about. Thanks Victoria!

Cleaned out my office and brought 2 boxes of books. Staff is friendly and prompt. Took about 15 minutes for them to evaluate my books.While I was waiting I was browsing and discovered the store is huge, well organized, and signs help guide you to your interestThey have a very decent selection of comic books and vinyl. Herd my name, got my money and headed home.I recommend this interesting and inexpensive book store.

This location has a very nice and helpful staff. It also has a great selection of books. It seems a little cluttered in some areas but it certainly fits the bill. I am looking forward to my next visit here soon.

This store just had a cozy, almost home-y type vibe. The employees are nice and seem pleasant like they are at least enjoying their job or time at work. Both times Ive been in there everything has been clean and organized and they have more things in there than I realized. If youre out and about in the area and/or are in need of a new book or coloring book or puzzle, check out this store.

I love Half Priced Books. We could stay there all day looking through books and stuff. Wonderful place to just lose track of time.

For bookstores this ones great. Not much to say other than had none of the books I wanted like horizion 4 and 5 but my sister and brother had good findings. Come here if its close to get (hopefully) the books you want at a lower cost than somewhere else. (Although I recommend only getting soft versions as its way cheaper)

I went in and found an old tome that was weathered and without a stickered price tag. The book was damaged, and the pages were written on, but the words within were good to read. Written in pencil was the price of $25. I asked if it was possible to negotiate a better price given the condition and the manager refused. Amazon sells a copy of the same book brand new for the same price, $15 for a new paperback.This particular store has poor customer service and bad business practice. I love bookstores as much as the next reader, but this one needs to be shut down. 👎

Great local used book store. They also carry some used vinyl records and a small amount of new albums. Used game consoles and games. Graphic novels as well. And a small amount of comic books. Collectible books and rare books also. You can never be sure of what you might find but you will probably find plenty you would like to have. The prices are good and the exchange rate for trade-ins are fair. Its pleasant in the store and if you love browsing books then you can happily spend an hour or two finding a few treasures.

They are a great place to go if need of books for school. Many of the books have helpful notes written by past book owners. The prices are great and they have a large variety of books!

At first I was a little lost with the way they keep it organized. Then it was off from book self to book self learning the system.

I went in just to browse around, it was my first time in the store and the staff was supper helpful. I walked out with a few books very nice and organized environment and good prices as well

We enjoyed our visit here today. I liked the rectangular layout of this store that is clean and staffed with friendly workers. I love that they have a table with 4 chairs, and also a couch in front – good for when you want to sit and check out books youre considering buying. Hubby & I also bought unique & interesting books weve not found in any other HPBs. Store is on a corner location so its easy to get to and parking is no problem at all. Its also near several shops & restaurants, which is a plus.

Discounted used books, place is well organized.You can sell your old ones if you dont mind getting paid pennies on the dollar

Its a great store, lots of parking and other great stores in the near vicinity. Great environment. Friendly staff in the store and lots of cool books. They didnt have what I wanted. Which is strange because I was there to buy two copies of the NKJV Bible, only the best selling book of all time lol. Still left a pretty cool book though, so alls well the ends well.

Cute book store with a wide range of classics. Even offer VHS movies if anyone still has a VCR. Super clean and staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions

I have got a lot of books here for me and my little boy for a low price. There are mainly second hand books but generally well maintained. Prices of books I got are from $2-$14. The clearance area has all 2-5 dollars books and gifts. In other areas, prices is about 6-14 dollars and often 6-8 dollars as I felt. Additional 20% off applied on memorials day.The front desks are polite and patient. I have recommended this book store to my friends especially for those have kids.

Clean and well organized variety of items affordably priced. Husband and I both found great bargains and even lower prices in their clearance section. Items even in their clearance section were in good condition. Enjoyed browsing and shopping here.

Everyone is helpful and will help you find what youre looking for. This is important since some books arent categorized the way you would think. Im glad this place is still running in the age of e-books.

This Half Price Book store is better than the one I normally go to but still I wish they would put the books in series beside each other so you dont have to keep going through all the books

Very well organized. Loved the way their clearance books are divided according to the books subject. Clean aisles. Just wish the staff would have been more attentive and asked if we needed help finding things.

I absolutely love this store. There are more pristine Half Price Book stores, but there is nothing like sitting yourself on the floor in front of a huge selection of your favorite genre. The hardest part is having to put some books back before you blow your budget.

I gave them over 13 books and they offered me total $1.36. My previous visits around last summer offered way more of what my other books were worth giving to them and I was shocked from yesterday. I only allowed them to keep the books so I can just continue the Heart and Care to donate, however wanting to sell them to save for school threw my hopes away. So folks becareful if selling your books here now.

Be cautious if you are planning to sell the book.. Count all the books before and after.After checking on line to sell the book (Medical College books), my wife thought to check with HPB as it should be more ethical and better as per reviews. I went their yesterday evening with 2 boxes of books (around 16) and Mr James took my name and asked me to wait for him to call my name. I waited in the store for almost 15 mins. after that he said they can give $72 for all the books. i said it is too low for medical books and the number given online was 5 times more. i said i will take the books back.he had 2 boxes ready and he said no problem. i put the box in my car and left. today morning we decided to go back with the online deal. When we put the book in another box as per previous list there was one book missing. Ironically the book missing is the most expensive book in all.i called the HPB around 10 am. Mr james answered and said he will check. after 45 mins I called back and he said HE GAVE all the books back but he will still check. again called back after one hour and he could not find itI wished him Good luck with business and ethical valuesJust be cautious if you are selling and count all the books specially if it is valuable.

In and around town this is definitely my favorite Half Price to go to. It isnt as close to me as another, but its worth the extra drive. I like the overall set up of the store and the space it allows for one to move about. Employees are always upbeat and friendly to interact with, which makes asking for help when necessary a great experience. I dont want to say the selection here is pretty good, but Ill say it anyway based on my own experience. Youll just have to go and see for yourself.

Went there for a vinyl albums.

The selection is lacking, but I guess that is to be expected for a resale shop. The organization is bad, and they ruin collectors items by putting stickers directly on them. All that being said if you can actually find what your looking for youll get it at a decent price.

This store has the largest selection (and cleanest) of books on quilting then any other store Ive gone to.

I just took a box of movies to sell - mixed Blu-rays, DVDs, and VHS. Most in excellent condition, one not even opened. They offered me $2! I am so upset and I feel cheated. I drove 30 minutes, had to hang out inside the store for way too long during a pandemic, and got $2. I would have been better off and safer throwing away the movies.

I love the way I came in 15 mins before closing, and you could TELL this was one of those days where the staff was ready TO GO. Except they didnt want to tell us. I appreciated how they were helpful to each person. The manager did make me aware that they were going to close soon, but never said another word about the time (I walked around the entire store and no one was mean about it.) But it was hilarious when they all let out a collective sigh of relief when I finished my purchase right on time! Bravo guys!

My second favorite half price books in Houston. Its a little farther from me than clear lake so I dont go as often. Like any other half price books staff is super friendly and prices are great. Dont forget, educators get a discount year round, just inquire in store ( be prepared to show your school id) and they give you a coupon to use for the whole year.

I always loved the staff at Half Price Books. They are generally very helpful.On another note, I wish it was as easy to find a book as it is to search on Amazon or Google! I understand that it is an older system and if I want the physical book Ive got to have to do a little bit of work but gosh darn it this internet has made me so spoiled!

I was most impressed by the young lady behind the register the other morning. She had two rather difficult customers before me and she handled herself so well. She didnt lose her patience with the man that couldnt figure out how to sign up for email coupons, and she didnt lose her cool with a cranky older lady. When it was my turn, she was very pleasant and we shared a cool moment over how ridiculous the other customers were. Her customer service makes me want to go back to this location and I would happily recommend it to others.Also, I lucked out - this location had both the books I was looking for. Huge selection!

Really miss what this place used to be. It should be regular priced books now. Cannot really come here and find little nuggets for a better price anymore. Most prices on everything outside of books are what you would find anywhere else. Still like the feel of place though and is fun to check out.

Loved the low prices on books and little things like stickers, toys, and even games.4 starts because i wish it was more organized. I felt a bit overwhelmed but, its a bargain bookstore so...I definitely recommend this place. Found the book i wanted in perfect condition for less than half of what it was at B&N. Score!!!!

Love it here! The folks here are kind and honest. Such a friendly staff and great sales on books here. Also can go find all sorts of other things like Video games and Vivals or even records and Board games! Go check it out!

Phenomenal book store with great deals. They have a nice variety of categories for books and music. We found just what we were looking for, and for a good price too!

Really like this place. Big wide open easy to find lots and lots of books and movies and miscellaneous things. Employees are always helpful and able to answer the questions that I have. Usually find several good bargains each time I come. Its location is pretty easy to get to as well especially if you come on the road so you stay out of most of the traffic

It was a clean store, it just wasn’t helpful. As a college student, we spend 100s of dollars on text books, I brought mine in looking for a REASONABLE offer. I wasn’t even expecting anything over $20. They offered me $3 and some change. I went to Westheimer and got 9x that.

The only things that sucks about Half Price Books stores is that theres never enough time to sit through and look through the books you find really interesting. This bookstore has a lot of really good books unfortunately Ill only be able to go back on a weekly basis to just check stuff out. Basically Im using it as a library and the folks here dont seem to mind.

While this is not a large HPB, the selection is varied and quite good! Staff is always helpful and attentive. If they dont have what Im looking for, they order it for me. Coupons are great! And I usually spend right then whatever I get for selling my books, movies, and audio books. Ha!

Stores are open. Selection still good for most readers. Unfortunately, those dire heart Sifi readers, the collectors of vantage Sifi authors have reduced the selection to next to nothing. Far too much fantasy, alternative history and military novels have taken over. True Sifi readers DONT read that substandard dribble.
