I recently purchased my dream car from Schimmer and was very pleased with the sales team. Jeff and Olga were fantastic! Ive been on the hunt for one of these cars for months and was willing to purchase sight unseen and pay for delivery. In my experience, many dealerships wont negotiate over the phone and like to trap you by coming into the dealership. The sales team at Schimmer knew I lived a few hours away and we made a deal within minutes over the phone. No sales tricks or anything, professional business deal from the first phone call. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the accommodation. Jeff advised me on better financing than my bank offered and Olga drove 100 miles to my home to close the deal. If you are looking for a sales team who accommodates, look no further. If that is not good customer service, I dont know what is. Already a few years ago, this dealership service SAVED MY LIFE. They replaced my TCM within an hour of driving in with a completely messed up transmission. Do not buy from this dealer! Todd sold me an 2018 F-150 with 20,000 miles. At 30,000 miles the break pads had no material left. Todd would not cover any cost of the repairs. So much for inspecting and doing any required repairs on vehicles before they sell them. Now I wonder what else is wrong with the vehicle I bought here.
Was traveling from Minnesota to Georgia when my vehicle broke down. Having to leave my vehicle for 3 weeks due to parts were a back order. Service department was excellent with taking care of my car repaired very friendly people at SCHIMMER FORD. Thank you for great service.
Bought an suv from them about 4 months ago and have had trouble with it running from the start. Took it in to them and they said just a little problem with the exhaust we will fix it. They supposedly fixed it. Engine light still on and doesnt run smoothly. Now sitting in my driveway and wont start thanks for nothing!! They talked about all these inspections their cars have to pass I call B.S. if that were true my car would be running! My trade in at least ran guess I shouldve kept it. I have friends looking for a new car and I said absolutely do NOT go to shimmer!!!
Well worth the 40 minute drive we made! Randy was our salesman and he was straightforward, honest and fair. Truly had a great car buying experience. He answered all our questions, was patient while we discussed different ideas and to top it off, we had our 2 year old with us and he and the other employees working that day, weβre great with her too. Hopefully we donβt need another car for a while π, but we will definitely check with Schimmer when we do!

I have been a customer for 30 plus years. I have bought multiple expeditions F150s.Town cars, explorers and other stuff I can not remember. The service department is what keeps you coming back. they do a great job. I about a month ago bought a 1989 Mustang conv from a used car dealer in Iowa. first thing get it to Schimmer get oil change checkit out, she is over 30 years old. Beautiful body, but other things happen. Mike, the technician, did a great job. Nothing serious,. I dont know about new but dont buy used cars from here. The service was great while were there. We bought 2 cars within 2 days of each other and if we had it to do over we would have shopped around. Within the first week the check engine light came on in my wifeβs car. Yes we bought it as is but in the name of good business it should be fixed. They said they fixed it but the check engine light came back on for the same reason within a week and when i called them they basically said tough. In the meantime, my car, with a warrantee thank goodness, started leaking water in the sunroof. My wifeβs car has run worse and worse since and is now sitting in the drive and wonβt start. When we talked about shopping around in front of the sales person he talked about how it would be a shame if we bought elsewhere because of their detailed inspection. Really!?!? Now i know why they pressure you to do a review online and proofread it before you leave with your car. Lesson learned i guess!!!!UPDATE! After reading this review they contacted us and wanted to fix the car. Long story short, they had to take the car back 2 more times and finally fixed it. There were some misleadings in the whole process but like i said long story. At one point wanted to sell me a different car. Really? You think Iβm going to give you more money? Iβm not an idiot. Never again!

I was in Streator, Il on Friday August 7th and went to Star Ford there and I couldnt get an oil change because they were busy. I called Bill Walsh Ford in Ottawa and same response. So, I called Schimmer Ford in Peru, Il. They said they could get me in no problem. Being from Las Vegas and heading to Tennessee I needed this oil change. When I got there they greated me right away. I told them I called earlier for an oil change and they saw that I called earlier for that service. They entered my vehicle and extended service contract right away. The oil change was completed fast and efficiently. The entire staff went out of there way to get my service completed before I left Sunday from Streator! Do not buy a vehicle from here. They are pushy and rude if you do not agree to their prices. I brought my vehicle in for a service they said would take an hour. I ended up waiting two hours and they were annoyed when I asked why it was taking so long. The dealers are great people, but beware of management.

Just bought a used SUV from Schimmer Ford for my son. I live about 2.5 hours away and spoke with Big John the night before that I would be coming in the next morning. John had the vehicles I was interested in ready and waiting. Very good small town dealer . The sales manager was honest and forthright. If you need a new or used car see these people 1st. Save yourself some time and energy. I have not been solicited in any way to write this review.
I went and trade my car, at first they showed me cars that might be approved and I liked the second but the sales man was trying to push a little red Elantra. Showed me Buick, then went and said it wasnβt approved. I got there there 1215 in the afternoon. Waited waited waited. I didnβt get out until 3pm. I understand I didnβt have a down payment but I did have a co signer. So the Dealer told me there was Ford Fusion coming in at 5 can you come back and I came back waited hour and see the car and my son loved it and I loved it. they said I will call you tomorrow and get you approved. He calls me to tell me that I canβt get it. They needed 2000 down. I missed my class and I was told I was going to get it. My son loved the car as well. Iβm bawling my eyes out and he tells me just keep my car for few months come up with the down payment. I wasted so much time and they kept pulling my string. I would never go back to them. This was the second time I tryed and my car is literally almost paid off. I had a co signer, they wanted me in small red car and ugly Ford Escape. I wasnβt happy. So I will never take my business with them again. They said they tried everything. No you wasted my time and lied to me and my son about getting the Ford Fusion. I will never go there again. Never again will I take my business to them. Now my credit shot from them running it threw places. Iβm never going back and I recommend you take the time to look at other dealership as well. I wouldnβt settle for them before checking out other options. Take care, I hope they feel great for giving false hope not just me but to my son as well he is five years old. I hope who ever goes there has a better experience.

My wife and I recently traded in our vehicle towards purchase of a brand-new Ford Explorer. It is an incredibly nice vehicle! We had a wonderful experience, and they were very helpful finding us the exact vehicle that we wanted. For his offering many incentives to buy, it didnt make sense to go with anything else! Our salesman John King was very knowledgeable and gave us a first-class experience.
To the readers of this review: This is an update, The owner responds to my review below. They did everything I said in my original review. Someone at Ford or the other dealer they owned in the area sent an expert diesel technician to re-diagnose the problem and stopped them from tearing my truck apart at the last minute. They tied me up an entire day waiting only to then tell me later in the day they were only going to tear off my gas tank, charge me 400.00 and do other warranty repairs. There was no water in the fuel, the tank did not need to come off either! I had to take the truck to another dealer to get it fixed 25 miles away. It was a bad fuel sensor! It was only one part that needed to be replaced,This is my original Review:Giving them 1 star because I cant give zero stars. I had a warning light go off on the highway, went in here because they were the closest Ford Dealer on my route west. Three men in their service department decided they were going to try to get $5,600 worth of warranty repairs out of Ford, strand me in their town for 1 to 3 weeks and destroy my truck with un-needed repairs. If you are a woman traveling on I-80 DO NOT USE THIS DEALER FOR SERVICE REPAIRS. I do not understand how in the world Ford Motor Company is allowing them to keep this franchise. These people literally were going to destroy a totally functional transmission system of an F-350 - to put a few bucks in their pocket.
On Saturday 8/3/19 I called mid-morning from the Loves Truckstop in Oglesby as my brakes had just failed. I was on my way home from Wisconsin and still had another two hours to drive before arriving in Mt. Zion, IL. You said that the technicians only performed oil changes on Saturday but you would have one look at the car as soon as I drove to their dealership. Your technician determined that it was the master cylinder and/or the ABS module. I agreed to have you order the parts and repair the car but was now without a vehicle. You graciously provided me with a loaner car and throughout the following week kept me informed of the progress on the repairs to my car. When I drove back to your dealership on Saturday 8/10/19 my wife went with me. She was also very appreciative of the service that you provided and impressed with the dealership. Again I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for us. You turned what was going to be a rough Saturday into a very pleasant experience. I hope you will share this email with your General Manager. He should be very proud to have quality employees like yourself and the technicians.

We just had the best service from Raul Diaz and Mike Parent. They helped get us into a used 2013 F150. They were very pleasant to work with and very knowledgeable.Raul worked with us to locate the Ford Pickup Truck we wanted. It was at their Peru Lot. Raul went to pick it up and checked it over ahead of time for us he was fantastic to work with and found exactly what we wanted in very short time. Mike went out of his way to get us a good finance rate and a few other extras we did not even think about. I bought 2 cars in 1 week. Paid cash. Part of the purchase agreement on the second car, ( for my wife) was that they would fix the brake pulse issue and correct an emissions problem that created a check engine error code. 2 weeks after the car was paid for, I had to call Ron to try and actually get the car delivered. He promised to put it at the top of his list, call me on Monday and do something extra for the frustration. Finally mid afternoon on Monday, (2 weeks plus later) no word from Ron, but after I texted Austin, the sales rep, he got back to me to ask my address. He dropped it off and it was there when I got home. Not washed, oily fingerprints on the door, below a quarter tank of gas and the brake issue not fixed. Remember, they put the brake repair in writing as part of the sales agreement. I guess the extra was a dirty car that was sold to a customer not worth the effort of honoring a contract. (They already had their money) So very disappointed. Now I get to fix it myself.
Tarryn was absolutely amazing. She was a lot of fun, she answered all my questions, she was easy to get ahold of. She was patient with me during the whole car search process. I would highly recommend Tarryn to everyone, the whole staff there was awesome.

We met Greg Loebach, who more or less greeted us immediately on arrival, and I told him upfront not to mess around with me on anything. I have to say, not only did he not mess around, he treated us like family and on top of that, despite his job to make the sale, there was ZERO pressure. Bought a car with a loan they got for me and the alternator went out a few months later they wouldnβt do anything for me as far as helping get it fixed when Iβm in pretty sure I had a warranty but the Guy βBig John β lied and said nothing was wrong with the car and they changed the brakes. When they really didnβt just be careful with these people they donβt care.

I would never go back to shimmer to buy a car. I bought a 2013 SUV from them and the motor wasnt any good . Now I have a get a new motor. They knew that it wasnt any good when I bought it. When I bought it the motor oil was leaking but they lied and said that nothing was wrong with it. So I would never buy any car from them again.
Schimmer isnt always good to me when I go to get my car serviced. Pat Carousp is who sold the car to me and he was very nice. When I go to service Brad Wilhelm is also very nice and rest of the guys in service.

Quick and easy people to work with. Said the truck was gone over by mechanics and good to go, but almost lost control on the highway driving my truck home that night (death wobble) due to missing parts and worn parts. Now I have to put money into the front end a week after the purchase.
I came in to the dealership not knowing really what I wanted and asked about leasing a vehicle. Pat not only walked me through the process of leasing a vehicle, but helped me to decide the best vehicle for my needs. He, of course, went through all the differences in the new vehicle that were different from my current vehicle before I left the lot with my brand new Hyundai Elantra. Bought our 2017 Elantra here. Great sales people who are super kind. However, good luck getting your warranty work done. After 6 visits, the long wait for a rental to leave it there, they let our car sit for a WEEK without even looking at it. They replaced the seat with another that was coming undone in the stitching. Got oil and grease all over the upholstery, paint, and interior trim. We were promised wed get a new seat and free detail. Said theyd call us when it came in. 4 months later and not a peep. Rudest, most ignorant service people Ive ever dealt with and Im on my 3rd Elantra. Im done with them.When they cleaned the oil stains, they used something cheap because the stains came back after a week. Thanks for such a waste of time.
Just wait until you have to have service done on your car. Of course they are nice when they are trying to sell you a car, but once they sold it to you, Schimmer doesnt care. You can tell by the little effort they exert when dealing with you. Took our Hyundai Sonata in at the end of May to have a common squeaky moon roof looked at, Schimmer said there is a TSB (Techinical Service Bulletin) on it. Scheduled appointment, get a call saying it was fixed, went to pick up car, and it was disgusting and dirty, parts installed improperly, parts broken. Drove it home, still NOT FIXED. After they made a few more attempts, they still could not fix it and then decided to scratch the car up after i told them not to wash it. got that taken care of thankfully. Took the car in again for fix on front overhead console on 7/26. No call on 7/27, we had to call on 7/28 slipped their mind to call, got the parts to fix moon roof. Call on 7/29 that car is ready for pick up. No damage this time, so that is a plus, but the moon roof still squeaks and we will have to go back again and more than likely again, and again and then likely get rid of the car as to not deal with Schimmer ever again. 0/10 will not recommend to anyone. UPDATE 9/15/16 - The new dealer I currently had to take my car to has updated me on the issue. After being told Schimmer, by Schimmer, that they will not take the car back to fix the problem since they are not knowledgeable enough to do so, (his words, not mine) it went to Gerald in Aurora. The Service Manager there called me to tell me that once again Schimmer messed up. The bracket for the sunroof was installed incorrectly, and several screws had heads that were all stripped. He stated that is was pretty obvious. They had to take pictures to send them to the Hyundai Regional Rep Eric to find out how to proceed as dealers do not normally have to clean up after other dealers screw ups.
