Monique was absolutely amazing. She gave me her full attention when discussing what I had in mind for my hair. I came in with a very limited idea of what I wanted and she led me to a choice that I couldnt be happier with! At no point did I feel like she was rushing. In fact, about 15 minutes into her next appointment, she realized that the customer no-call-no-showed and she took her time to finish up the haircut. I was seriously impressed with my experience at Moko. Cant wait for my next haircut!

I use to get my hair cut by Monique twenty-five years ago, and was immediately a big fan. She pays great attention to detail and knows how to shape styles that suit your face. I could take my contacts out and just let her do her thing. We moved away for nineteen years and once returned to Philly reconnected with her right away. Hands down - Best salon in Philadelphia. Monique is the best colorist Ive been to since I moved from D.C. over a year ago. She is always so welcoming and I just love the salon pooch, Murphy. The other thing I like is that youre not pestered to buy products or add on multiple services. Prices are reasonable, and I have the best auburn color and cut Ive had in my life.

It takes a specific stylist, a truly skilled stylist to manage that AND get a non-celebritys hair geared up to be on live television.Savannah is that stylist.While the camera angle didnt capture me straight on (profile on the side where my bangs are) so the viewing audience couldnt see everything Savannah did, I saw and I knew. Have to agree with the last post, the energy and vibe for the owner was rather pushy and insensitive. There was a lack of courtship and customer appreciation. My resume was reviewed and before I could even check the place out or want to be interviewed I was turned off my the tone and personality of the person on the phone.

For over 10 years I had been getting my hair cut by the same person. When she moved 3 hours away, I was a nervous about who I could trust to cut it. Im a fairly simple guy, dont need much from a haircut, and not entirely sure I would know what to say if did need more. Add to that the fact that Im balding, my options are limited. However, Lily and Moko make me feel right at home. Never any judgment when I ask ridiculous questions or dare to try something a little different than the time before. Very knowledgeable staff when it comes to their products. For guys that just need a simple cut, great welcoming place you can trust.

Lily is the best hairstylist! The best thing about lily is that she actually listens to what you want and gives it to you. She is so much fun and her work is always perfect. I couldnt recommend her enough. Both my fiancé and I love going to her and couldnt be happier with our haircuts every single time. Been going here since I moved to Philly 3yrs ago since they were next door and had the best reviews. Have been going ever since and will continue to go here. Mens cuts are reasonably priced. Everyone is friendly. Owner is there all the time and very friendly as well. Ive only once had a mediocre cut by a new girl and had to go back, and the owner fixed the cut herself.

My second visit to this adorable beauty spot. I love how fresh and clean the salon is and the cute shop dog, Murphy. The owner, Monique has the studio to herself and its very welcoming. I love the kombuch on tap. And, oh yeah, my hair! My hair is aaaaammmaaazing! The first time Ive had someone paint my hair blonde and get it right. Monique pays alot of attention to detail and is warm and friendly. Best haircolor Ive had in Philly.

I recently just experienced the artistic team duo of McAmbs (McKenna & Amber) here and absolutely am in love with the results! Ive never colored my hair before, and I naturally have thick, curly, and coarse hair that is hard for me to style on my own. It is obvious that Amber and McKenna took time to discuss the cut and color they were going to do beforehand, keeping my concerns in mind. I felt confident sitting in their chair because they explained their process from start to finish, and that the color would accentuate the cut. I could not be happier with the results. They truly work as a team in all aspects, have a modern and unique approach, make you feel like you are one of their friends not just a client, and leave you feeling like a brand new person when you leave the salon. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

Moko is the best salon Ive been to in Philadelphia. I live in Old City and I had the best experience with Monique Mason (?), the owner and master stylist. We consulted for a while, and I really felt she was attentive and listend to all of my concerns (had a bad color job at another Old City salon). We both decided that lots of delicate highlights would blend the old color I had. Also, I was so happy that Monique knows how to do a real razor cut. I moved from NY and Im used to having a great razor or dry cut and other salons here just didnt cut the mustard! Soooo...Its Moko for me! Not only the best organic salon Ive encountered (used to live in Cali, too), but the best salon in my life. Its love .

Moko has been my go to hair, wax and facial salon for years!!! The staff is always kind, knowledgeable and just darn amazing. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my unruly hair or skin. Love Moko to bits!!!!
