This shop should appear next to the definition of quaint in the dictionary. Doesn’t appear large from the outside but when you enter it is truly a Harry Potter level of magic. Every turn you are invited with another nook of books, I could truly spend the rest of my life there. The cats are SO CUTE. Amazing selection, amazing service, amazing space. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

This is my favorite bookstore in Philly, and Ive never walked out with fewer than four books. While all bookstores are dear to me, this one in particular has a wonderful, diverse selection that is easily navigated thanks to the staffs commitment to clear labeling and organization. Its neither too large nor too small, and I find that I can locate with relative ease both specific books Im looking for and random books that simply catch my eye. It is, without a doubt, on the more expensive side for a used bookstore, but the books are almost always in pristine condition and the place is kept neat and tidy. Bookhaven is a must-visit for all bibliophiles in Philly.

I think Ive been to all the major used bookstores in the area now and this one is my favorite by far. For one, it is well organized and kept: no piles and piles of books. Second, it is well curated: theres a much higher chance youll find a rare or unexpected gem here than other places.It has the best philosophy, math, and french language sections by far, a very fine ancient history section and many loebs. I wish I lived closer by.

The best used book store around

Probably the greatest bookshop Ive ever seen, and Ive been to a few. I found Jack Londons The Iron Heel there--a book Ive been looking for forever-- and promptly lost all sense of restraint. I was like a rat at a fair, and the only hunting the cats of the shop did of me was for my love.

Great spot to find used books in like-new condition. The store is much larger than the front room makes it seem and it has many popular titles. The owner and resident cats are friendly as well, making it my favorite place to shop for a new read in Philly

Perfectly quaint, neighborhood used book shop. The owners/employees are friendly. They shelves are always stocked and cover a couple levels of the building. There are two shop cats.

By far my favorite bookstore around. the owners are so nice, they’ve got two gorgeous cats, and not to mention the MASSIVE selection of books. the store just keeps going on and on forever. love this place!

Selection of books and printed music is amazing. Very well organized and the staff is always more than welcome to help find anything that you need. The atmosphere is so calm and comforting. My favorite bookstore by far.

Love this place! Ive found signed copies of books here on multiple of occasions, and the sections are pretty encompassing and well organized. A good place to kill a couple of hours and take home a book youve been meaning to look at and one youve been searching for. The people are also very kind! (And, like any good used hook store, there are cats!)

Very well organized. The owners are friendly and helpful. Huge section for books on art, architecture, and music. The cats are so sweet and fluffy. Super close to a bus stop.

Such a huge selection of wonderful books from mystery to evolution to history and romance (including everything in-between!) There is even a cute kitty to accompany you during your visit.

Great, independent, used bookstore. A gem in the Fairmount community for many years, this place has two stories worth of old books, knowledgable staff, and at least one bookstore cat. Great place, I go here almost once a month.

My go-to bookstore in Philadelphia. We love eating at Zorbas down the street and visiting the bookstore before or after. Watch the hours, they are all over the place, but the bookstore is stocked with relevant material, it is organized, and they have the token bookstore cat. Great place.
