I came here yesterday and ordered a personal chocolate velvet cheesecake and a bake at home skillet. As I was eating the personal cheesecake I noticed mold at the bottom of it and threw it away. I spent 17.82 and Im very unhappy and disgusted. I ate half of the cheesecake before I noticed the mold. This was my first time and my last time coming here.
Scoop DeVille set up an ice cream sandwich station for my wedding, and they were the BIGGEST hit of the night. Everyone raved about how delicious it was and what a great addition it was for a late night snack. When I lived in Philly I used to go there all the time, and I knew I needed them to be a part of our wedding night. Their staff was easy to work with when coordinating the menu and arrival to our wedding. I cannot recommend their catering enough. Cant thank this team enough for making it a memorable part of our night!
If your looking for something sweet to snack on this is the spot!!! They have a vast selection of sweets. From ice cream to cakes to cookies the list goes on. This trip I got the half baked cookie sundae and half baked peanut butter cup sundae. Also a scoop of outer space ice cream. The best thing about this place is they make everything !!! They also swirl frozen hard serve the ice cream up which taste like soft serve!!!They do online orders for pick up or you can place your order inside!!!Go its worth it and the staff is super friendly and helpful
Whoa. So glad we stumbled upon Scoop DeVille. All their ice cream is made on the premises. They are famous for their blends which put Cold Stone Creamery to shame. Staff are friendly and service was quick. There is no indoor seating so I dont know what they do when winter rolls around. I only give it four stars because its a bit pricey...but still worth the treat!
Probably not somewhere Iβd return to. After ordering a phillyscoopdeville creation with whip cream, drizzled chocolate syrup etc (see pic with question marks) we received a cup of teal milkshakeπ―π΅οΈββοΈA pic of the desired creation was shared with the serverπ¬ The other item ordered tasted ok. This establishment is located on a busy one way. Depending on the time of day, itβs best to park elsewhere and walk-in.
Great spot if youβre craving something sweet late night.Update 10/1/2021My friend and I ordered the Smoreo, one in a cup, the other in a cone. My friend got his and I kept waiting on mine, until one of the staff noticed and asked what I ordered. One of the girls seemed to be preparing my order but in a cup, so they had to redo it again I guess for the cone. It wasnβt busy at all when we came in, it was literally just us in the store. But I my order was delayed and already melted when received (check picture).
HOME RUN!!! Scoop DeVille has to be one of the top ice cream shops in the country. We ordered a customized flavor as a birthday celebration that was amazing!!! The service was on point in advance and at the shop. The flavors are quite complex and executed flawlessly. And what makes it unique to me was the texture somewhere between soft serve and gelato. Great energy from the team and all of our family members loved it. I Cant wait to return. Kudos to Spencer and the entire team.
I was pretty excited about this place for its vegan selections, and maybe the milkshakes are a good choice? But they try to do a mix-in thing and they apparently dont have recipes. I ordered a dairy-free coffee and sea salt ice cream and they mustve added a tablespoon of sea salt to a 5oz cup because it literally only tasted of salt. I mixed it a couple of times thinking maybe it was just at the top but every bite was just as salty. After a couple of bites I threw it away, and then I vomited it up. So, I definitely cant recommend that flavor. Also, four ice creams cost me 30 bucks. Maybe youll have better luck?
Just stopped at the new location on South St. My granddaughter could not be happier with her Cookie Monster ice cream. My milkshake was rather watery, however I didnt try it until after we left and I am sure the person working would have fixed it if I had gone back and asked. She was amazing, training a new person and still chatting with us. Well be back!!
Chocolate with Nutella shake was out of this world. Waffle cone fully packed and great flavor. Great place.
I was really looking forward to trying this place but was highly disappointed. My milkshake was basically water with Oreo crumbs, not expecting ice cream or anything but it was basically Oreo juice... It was supposed to be mint I didnβt taste any. To be honest it was kind of gross. Had 2 sips and tossed it outside. We also got a medium ice cream, and it tasted pretty good, but we ordered a medium and the cup was halfway filled. Is this normal? Okay if so.They seemed overwhelmed on a Friday night which I get but that was just not good.
Update: The owner is making excuses for roaches and rats existing in the store... Who does that? Do not risk it, go elsewhere. Im sure roaches bask in their ice cream and throw parties on the baked goods.Went to go get some vegan ice cream with my gf and as we are ordering we look up and see a KING SIZED ROACH walking up the wall, unbothered by the full establishment and active atmosphere. it was COMFORTABLE! we proceeded to cancel our order and point out the roach to the person taking our order and they just looked up and shrugged??? Upon walking up to the door to leave, there was 2 rats just chilling under their furniture about to come inside! This place needs to be closed or something because its no explanation why rats and roaches are freely roaming the place. Save your money and go elsewhere! There is no telling what is crawling about in the food......
I had vegan vanilla ice cream with coffee powder, oreos and kit kat. It was so delicious! I have severe lactose issues so it was such a joy to be able to find a place that I can enjoy ice cream! Thanks for making my dairy dreams come true!
I have been a professional medium for 15 and a half years and am VERY sensitive to all of the energy forces that surround us. The staff is great and the ice cream is excellent, but when I walked past the front door I was ASSAULTED by the dark energy radiating from Spencer
Adorable ice cream parlor with vegan options! Saved my mothers birthday with a vegan ice cream cake. Only thing, the writing wasnt the best at least for the vegan ice cream cake version, so you might want to do that bit yourself. Cant wait until we can visit again and sit down for a treat!
I got vegan strawberry cake..it was delicious and creamy!! I dont get to eat at creameries often w/my allergy, but I will definitely be back to try their other vegan flavors and options. #cantwait
I never write these things for any place or thing. But in this case I just had to. I literally just bought a small ice cream the gentleman scoops it up for me hands it to me I said thank you so much have a good day looked me right in the eye and doesnβt say a word. I thought how insulting how rude. If you are that unhappy with what youβre doing donβt do it. 8/22/21 at all 2:50 pm. I hope some manager at this establishment sees this.
This place never disappoints. But the best part is how happy my wife is every time I take her here. Sometimes I even bring home a pint to surprise her.
Andrew is a wonderful employee at this location and was great with customer service. Myself and my group really appreciated him.
Came on a quiet weekday evening. Ice cream was great. Friendly customer service. Will definitely stop by again!
As a business that claim to have gluten and dairy free options employees have to be strongly trained to know all about what products are or arent otherwise someone can have a serious health complications. The petite cakes needs attention, last week one of the employees said one was gluten and dairy free, yesterday another said none of them are, difficult to trust. Hate doing bad reviews is just it was a total mess. I undertand saturday night can be crowded but the employees clearly didnt know what they were doing. Mess up orders not only mine but others costumers
Love going here. However, after my significant other comes home from work we set a date yo enjoy some soft serve at our favorite ice cream vendor, Scoop DeVille. We arrive 10:43/10:45pm to order with a few still in front of us in line only to be told by the 5β6β-ish blond ponytail female that we cannot get soft because they are only serving whatβs in the front case due to closing :( disappointing. Maybe the owner should let them stay long enough after 11 to clean up.
The ice cream was delicious and the staff was super friendly. The worst part was other customers being grumpy and inconsiderate to the people who worked there. Definitely a gem if youre looking for a unique sweet treat with vegan options.
Best milkshake i have ever had and it was VEGAN! If you are dairy-free or vegan this place is great. I got the cookies and cream milkshake and it was soooo good!!! I am gonna come back again soon!! *it was a bit pricey tho but worth it in my opinion*
Great experience, quick service my sister and i walked in for a late night treat. The Salty southern was amazing and so were the cupcakes! Young lady at the register was very polite and patient as we made our mind up to order, will be returning!
Love this place - every time I go, I get a recommendation to try something new or a special flavor and am never let down! Also the cookie dough is yummy
I got a vegan coffee toffee ice cream and my girlfriend got a mango melon smoothie. The smoothie was overpriced for being syrup and ice but it was still good. On the other hand, the coffee ice cream was pretty unbearable to eat. It tasted like someone whipped up some instant coffee the way you make tiktok coffee and mixed it into the ice cream. The taste was so bitter and overwhelming that the chocolate syrup on top couldnβt even save it. My girlfriend and I were passing it back and forth taking a couple bites and then sipping the smoothie to get a break from the bitter flavor. A little over halfway through we decided that it wasnβt worth and threw it away. Iβm sure some of the other flavors were good but this was definitely the worst ice cream Iβve ever had.
Great little custom ice cream shop. Love the way they double blend the mix-ins so the resulting ice cream is very smooth.
I ordered a small vegan ice cream, IDR the flavor. For a soy-based (Tofutti) ice cream it was super expensive, more expensive than another ice cream shop that uses oat or nut milks and it wasnt as creamy. I try to stay away from soy so I wont be returning to Scoop DeVille. Also, the flavor was okay but it was overwhelmingly sweet.
My girlfriend loved the cookie monster. Shes usually a cookies and cream person Id like to think the cashier for still allowing us to sample after she said they dont do that.
The atmosphere is awesome and it is so well decorated inside and the workers are very nice :)
Great spot! Great staff! They have some crazy concoctions that didnt look appealing to me, but my girlfriend loved their cookie monster something. It tasted great, but Im too growed up for blue food!
If only I could give them 0 stars....I placed an order through Grubhub for 8 cookies and 4 brownies. As soon as the delivery guy handed me my order, I smelled something burnt. I opened the styrofoam package, and found that all my cookies were either burnt or very overdone. I called the restaurant, and explained the situation. The person I spoke with explained that she couldnβt give me a refund unless I brought the cookies back to the store???! I took the time to use a food delivery service, and they thought it made sense for me to get in my car to bring the cookies to the restaurant despite the fact it was a mistake on their part.I asked to speak with the manager, and was told he was not available. However, she said she would call the manager and get back to me. I received a call back about 5 min later, and was informed that per THE OWNER I was not to receive a refund. Their solution was to take my email address, so that I could be emailed a store credit.Hereβs the deal. I paid for a product expecting a minimum level of quality. That did not happen. On top of that, the customer service from the employee to the owner was abysmal. That being said, why on earth would I want a store credit?! I will not be patronizing this place ever again.
I ordered through GrubHub and was originally given a 45-55 minute estimated arrival time. My order should have arrived between 8:45 and 8:55. My app showed that it was arriving soon since 8:45 pm. I called the store around 9:10 to see what was the delay the lady who answered said that there was a delay and that orders were taking about 65 minutes. I waited and called back at 9:30 pm, which was an hour and a half since my original order time and 35-45 minutes past my expected arrival time. I spoke to a lady who said that they were really busy and that it was causing delays. She mentioned that the order had not left the store yet. She put her supervisor, general manager Eric, on the phone and he claimed that they were short handed and busy due to the nice weather and that this was causing major delays. I had waited 90 since my original order and it was made, but never left the store. He did not rectify the situation. It was absolutely poor planning on the storeβs behalf because how could you be short handed if you knew the weather would be nice? That is something you can plan for. Honestly he should have started making deliveries himself to try and keep customers happy. Those who order online have already paid for their items and have paid extra in fees, delivery and tip. I finally decided to cancel my order at 10:15 pm which was 2 hours and 15 minutes since my original order and 1 hour and 20 minutes past my original delivery window.
It can be compared to a Maggie Moos or Coldstone. Although they do have a large selection of vegan and ice cream in general, they tend to be super sugary. It is a fun idea, just be ware of the sugar overload.
Gave us some free ice cream for our dog! ice cream for us was good too!
The best place on earth and they literally love their customers! Just ordered my dairy free milkshake with extra Oreo and itβs Delicious!
We stopped in craving ice cream cones and were disappointed. If you want vegan ice cream, youre in luck but their selection of dairy ice cream is relatively small. I orderd a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough and my husband got key lime. We both felt the quality of our ice cream was average. Also, we wanted one plain sugar cone and one plain cake cone (no sprinkles, nuts, M&Ms, etc) . Imagine our surprise to discover plain cones require an upgrade to a waffle cone, so we passed. Our bill came to $14 which seemed excessive for two very small cones with one scoop of mediocre ice cream. Not a place we would return to or recommend.
We walked in and waited 15 mins before anyone evemn asked us if we were being served. Finally someone took our order but then proceeded to start working on to go orders again. The whole staff was just working on to go orders and not serving any of the customers in the store. Finally when we did get our two orders they were filled only to 75% of the cups height. This is my first negative review and our whole family makes jokes about this place anytime someone brings up the idea getting ice cream. Very odd establishment
I have no clue what they served me, it was supposed to be chocolate ice cream. Ice cream doesnt melt like water. The reason they get 2 stars, the personal cheesecake was great. Idk how an ice cream parlor messed up ice cream.
Quality products, fast service dont let the long line keep you awayπ
I was given a root temp milkshake. I am still confused as to why.
Good ice cream BUT do NOT order online! Waited over 30 mins past expected pick up time- they do not prepare your order when they receive it. They take the walk in crowd first. Will not return....not worth the frustration of watching 20 people walk in and get served. Short staffed or not-paid orders need to be completed as they come in, not when you catch up with the line
This is just overpriced soft serve ice cream served with cheap ingredients. Dont go here. Way better offerings in other parts. This place is for the drunk or the naive.
Unprofessional staff, Ordered milkshake very watery and ice cream too chunky. Ended up giving my food to the crackhead outside because of how bad it was
Delicious frozen yogurt and accommodating staff of bodacious babes
I give this place two thumbs up. Will surely make a return trip. Like a restaurant in Washington I liked.
The cashier was nice but the server was very rude. The ice cream was spilling over the edge making the container sticky which is during this pandemic. Also the sweet and salty was just sweet.
I ordered something and the receipt said it was something else. I showed a girl either manager or worker and they corrected it and said they refunded me as if it was a credit card but I told them I paid cash. Then they gave my wife a spoon from down under in a box on the floor. That is an Unacceptable storage area for spoons as that is where foot traffic is that kicks up dirt and dust.
Aww I really wanted this place to be yummy. Cupcakes super dry and ice cream was just way too sweet couldnβt enjoy.. this is coming from someone with a sweet tooth. I ordered the ice cream pie which is such a great idea not great production. I also got a brownie which got thrown away, and everything seemed very generic tasting. Thatβs why I would have to give this place one star. I guess I expected too much from all the 4-5 star reviews
Came around 10:00 pm after dinner at XIX-Nineteen. It was a short 3 block walk. When I arrived I went to the register to order. There were three employees standing there but none of them acknowledged me. After a few moments I asked one young lady if they were still open. She said yes and that someone else would be with me soon. In a minute or two if someone else came over and asked for my order. I asked if they carry cheesecake as it was a bit cold for ice cream. She seemed confused and asked to other employees although I have seen cheesecake in the display window. Finally one of them said yes and retrieved it for me. The cheesecake was good but I can get better dessertdessert and better service elsewhere. Didnt leave a great first impression...
Oh I come here for all my weekend snacking. They got the Sundays and then they have the bananas covered in chocolate. Itβs so festive when you walk in thereβs so many colors so many things happening. Everybodyβs running around with our masks on trying to make orders for people that called them in for delivery.
You can order ahead and they have a little window for you to grab your order without having to go inside.Inside they offer hand sanitizer and have it set up so that you cannot walk up to the counter but instead practice 6ft.Staff was very friendly and they have various things for you to get besides ice cream. Those ice cream sandwiches were huge and the shakes looked sooo good. Will definitely be trying it next time.
This place consistently disappoints. I have ordered online many times during the pandemic. The past 2 times I ordered a brownie sundae, they forgot the brownie. The orders are always delayed, Iβm talking 2 hours delayed, which I understand is a third-party issue, but really is quite upsetting. I have loved this place for many years, but itβs a shame how it has continually devolved. I will not be returning- I recommend customers look else where
Great experience and ice cream is always delicious. Everyone was very nice and it was extremely clean.
The girl behind the counter was very patient with my indecisiveness, due to it being my first time there. Delicious ice cream, I loved the breakfast cereal one.
Me and my cousin have never been so poorly attended in our lives. You need to select your employees better.
Craving a banana split.... no bananas but the brownie Sunday was a GIGANTIC literally scenario! We will be returning! Thank you!
They need to improve service. Even though you are a delivery person, you dont have to be inhuman. Sad reality that we witness.
They have the best milkshakes Iβve ever had in my entire life. You will not be disappointed!!!! Great service and delicious sweets!!!
My girlfriend and I ordered sundaes for delivery and everything was fine until my girlfriend bit into a screw that was at the bottom of the sundae. The screw was about 1 inch long and rusted. Fortunately it didnt break her tooth. I attempted to call the location several times to speak to a manager but the phone line rings busy. We will NEVER be ordering from here again and will continue to attempt to speak to someone about this horrible incident.
Love Scoop DeVille! Amazing ice cream at great prices, with all the toppings you can imagine. Not only are their flavors good, their staff is phenomenal and their customer service is extraordinary. I am so happy with every interaction I have had because they truly care about the quality of your experience every time you visit.
Great location to meet with friends. I look forward to a return trip. The bill was good for what you get.
Great place for non diary ice cream seekers!!
Got the turtle split. It was just okay. Almost 1/2 of it was whip cream, and no hot fudge. I expected more for the cost.
Scoop DeVille went above and beyond creating a custom ice cream cake for my girlfriendβs birthday! Not to mention they even delivered it for me! The cake itself is the BEST ice cream cake Iβve ever had in my life (and Iβve had a lot)! I could not be any happier with the customer service & quality of the product. THANK YOU SO MUCH SPENCER & ASHLEY!!!
It was such a quaint little place to enjoy ice cream and a bunch of different variations of ice cream. The service was amazing because we were not going to stay and the server informed us that some cups you cannot take out of the store instead of letting us order and get confused why we couldnβt leave. The sinful milkshake was AMAZING! Exceeded every expectation! ππ»ππ»
The Charlie Brown ice cream is my girlfriends favorite and I will go out of my way to get anything from here. Everything is a must have
This place has some very unique ice cream creations. My wife and I stared at the 5 menus for several minutes before deciding. I had the Turtle Split. It was marvelous. The guy who made it did NOT skimp on the wet walnuts. I love wet walnuts. The staff was quick and professional. The place doesnt look like much when we first walked in, but when you look at the menu you know you are at a serious ice cream shop.
Delicious vegan milkshake!!!! Wow
I will be back with my coworkers. Food is like a place in Baltimore I liked.
Hands down the best ice cream In Philadelphia. I first tried on Caviar delivery service, and I knew I had to come in. It took me 15 minutes to order because there is so much to choose from, and it all looks amazing. I have only tried the ice cream with toppings mixed in, and it should be your first go to. It softens the ice cream making it taste like soft serve with your own toppings! They also sell by the pint! I have no reason to get any ice cream from a convenient t store because the pint is cheap and completely unique by your ingredients! The inside is bright and exciting there is no way you wonβt leave with a smile on your face
Update: 5/5. Ive been back somewhere between 5 and 10 times since then. Everything was resolved. Big points to Spencer for the awesome reply to my original review. You know this place is under good ownership and management when you get that kind of reply. As always, the ice cream is still ridiculously good.Original Review:The ice cream is great, but if youre going to put cups out to show the size, it helps if you actually come close to filling them. I ordered a medium that had basically a single balled scoop in it that didnt even cover the whole bottom of the cup, let alone fill the cup. I dont expect it to be overflowing, but I would expect it to be CLOSE to filled.Apparently I ordered the densest ball of ice cream ever, as I guess theyre selling by weight. Though nothing was weighed, just eyeballed. Its just a shame, because the ice cream tastes GOOD, but just not worth it at something like half a cup in volum in their medium thats listed at 8oz. Not cool to cut corners by shortchanging your customers. My friend ordered a blend that probably filled about 2/3 of his large cup. Again, no qualms with the quality, it was actually quite good. The portion sizes, however, leave something to be desired. The entire time we were eating, one of the display cases beeped a warning about something wrong with it. The staff ignored it until we said something to the gentleman at the counter. He said he didnt know why it was doing that, came out and gave the machine a thump or something to make it stop beeping.Overall, the flavor is good. Four and a half stars on the taste. Two stars for portion-skimping malarkey, and three stars for inattentive/apathetic staffing. Could have been so much better and was a real letdown after being excited to check it out.
Beautiful place
Was sooo delicious! Have a wide variety of everything imaginable that will satisfy a sweet tooth! Personal fave to the Oreo Peanut-butter frozen yogurt under 250 calories. Will absolutely be back.
Best ice cream and cake in midtown. (I highly recommend the White Chocolate Black Raspberry milkshake π€)
I love ice cream so my wife got my grooms cake from Scoop DeVille and it was awesome! We love going in there and picking out all the toppings we can stomach. Best ice cream in Philly!
I ordered the Smores Brownie Sundae. It took nearly 30 mins to get my order. People who had ordered after me started getting their orders so I went and asked if I had been overlooked and she assured me I hadnt. A few moments later I get my sundae and its half melted so they definitely did forget about me and just didnt want to admit it. The marshmallows were old. And they failed to tell me their microwave isnt working so the brownie that came with my sundae was given to me separately and unable to be heated up. Maybe its the pandemic. Idk. It was also pretty strange that one of the girls was hand delivering orders to people in the restaurant next door. They shouldnt have to be running back and forth like that.
Nothing to what I was expecting pictures to say a thousand words what I recommend this place to anyone know the inside of the place was a little sloppy not too convincing to me
Stopped by at 11:30 on a Friday night, service was quick and friendly. The prices may be a little on the expensive side, but the taste justifies the cost.I had the strawberry chocolate flavor, and it was incredible. The 8oz size was plenty, with enough to pass around with my friends. Canβt wait to try some other flavors in the future.
In the middle of a pandemic, I just went to pick up an order I placed on Ez Caterer. Waited outside for 45 minutes with consistent reassurance that my order was being worked on only to find out they never received the order. I was coldly told to just cancel it. What is more appalling is the fact that over 50% of the staff was not wearing masks, using profane language, and generally aloof at best. Ez Caterer handled the situation promptly, but I would strongly dissuade anyone from ordering from this establishment.
By far one of the most delicious dessert experiences of my life. The employee who was on was extremely helpful in going over the menu with me. I decided on a very simple mix- vanilla ice cream with sugar cookie dough. It. Was. So. Delicious. Incredibly creamy and flavorful ice cream paired excellently with the gritty, sugary dough. I had a smile my whole walk back even though I was eating ice cream in December. A must stop
Had one of their small batch flavors (key lime pie) and it actually tasted like a key lime pie. Usually things that are key lime flavored that I have tried in the past dont taste like the pie but this did. Would definitely go back for one of their small batch flavors again.
