What an incredible little spot with amazing attention to detail! The coffee was spectacular, I got an oat milk latte and it was spot on, but the food is the real draw. I got the Eggcelent breakfast sandwich and although my friend enjoyed his sausage, egg, and cheese bagel, we both agreed that the Eggcelent was eggactly right. The writing on my coffee cup and our food bag was the sweetest touch and made my day. Its honestly the little things that make the experience and this place has that down. I cant wait to come back next time Im in Philly!

The food is good, great even - but they really should make over the space and exterior. It’s not very inviting nor contemporary. They must be missing out on a lot of tourist money. I’d also love if they brought in a vegetarian sausage for their breakfast sandwiches.

I was staying around the corner from this place & gave them a go because (aside from being nearby) they had a decent number of veggie options. I wasnt disappointed in the coffee or the fare - I recommend the Epic bagel sandwich, but there are lots of choices!

Had the Bagelsaurus and Maple Latte. Husband also had a breakfast sandwich that he is still raving about. Absolutely delicious - toppings were super fresh! Just felt bad for the guy behind the counter because it seemed like he didn’t have enough help. We came at a good time but a rush of customers soon followed and he lost some of their business due to the wait. We would definitely revisit on our next trip to Old City!

We got the incredible lox sandwich, the breakfast burrito, and a lavender latte. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced for city prices. The coffee was very strong so I’m glad we only bought one and shared it.

I really love this very unique little cafe a gem in Old City. Friendly and fast service and a very extensive menu from breakfast sandwiches, wraps, paninis, a variety of salads, and melts. Also theres smoothies are super amazing my favorite is the tropical passion smoothie which has strawberry pineapple Orange and I think banana. Nothing but fruit and wholesome goodness. The store is very clean and spacious and has a nice vibe. It feels like home when you walk into the store and youre greeted by the open brick face walls very old city style type of store. Today I bought two sandwiches one was called the swedish fish which lots avocado bacon fried egg capers and more is on a toasted bagel I also tried out there Italian melt on toasted ciabatta bread. This really made my day even though its snowing in Philadelphia at least Ill know Ill have a full stomach in the energy I need before I have to go to work.

Amazing breakfast. Dont let looks deceive you! Hole in the wall with the best breakfast. We had the oatmeal which was super tasty and you cant go wrong with any of their sandwiches. When we come back to Philly we will be back for more.

The food here is really good, but they get swamped at lunch during the week and dont seem to be able to handle the amount of orders they receive around that time. It is still worth going, but just know you will probably have to wait 40+ minutes for your sandwich even if you ordered ahead. Been here for breakfast on the weekends and was able to pick up my meal quickly.

A takeaway style cafe with an extensive menu. We went mid-morning on a weekday and it wasn’t busy. Accommodating staff, let me switch toast for bagel, and fast service. Felt let down by plastic cutlery, and coffee wasn’t the best. Good for a quick breakfast before exploring the historic part of the city.

Visiting from Central New York. I had the oatmeal with fruit. As expensive as restaurant food is, the proteinuria, and fiber in oats will keep me full for hours--Ill eat less. The service is superb as well.as superb too.

Talk about neat place down a less traveled path. Breakfast and lunch has been great! Try the oatmeal or eggcellent for breakfast. Loved the protein bowl for lunch.

Expensive for the amount they give you! I order a chicken pesto panini and it was bite size (very small) for 10 dollars and I also order an energy smoothie which looked good on paper but it had no taste whatsoever hopefully it was really healthy. Overall I spent $20 dollars on a small panini and and smoothie. It was not worth it!!!

The paninis are filling and flavorful. The oatmeal is out of this world. The coffee is good and the prices are more than reasonable. You could not do better if you are looking for a quick breakfast or lunch.

I appreciated the ease of ordering and the breakfast sandwich options were vast. My chai tea latte was not available but the regular coffee was an okay runner-up. It took awhile for the food to be fixed but I guess that just means it was made fresh and to the tee. We both enjoyed our Bagelsaurus and Sunrise Sammie!

Yummy, huge breakfast sandwich made to order. Cozy, not much room for seating, but they squeeze chairs around the room. They also make yummy fruit smoothies. Very friendly. Recycling bins in the shop. They are open even though the huge crane is parked in front of the building and the road is closed to car traffic.

The Cheddy Sando is likely the best breakfast sandwich ever created. It’s that good. Really. The restaurant is a quaint hole in the wall with tons of character & friendly staff. Try it.

Wow, Fab.U.Lous grilled sandwiches. My friend & I were walking around Old City/River Rink and virtually nothing was open. Thank goodness for yelp & what a find! THE BEST sandwiches weve had in a while. I had the Cubano, she had the Gobbler. Both stacked nicely with high quality meats on both. I couldnt even finish mine. Pickles, sliced smoked ham & pork on mine, hers real sliced turkey breast, bacon and red peppers. Grilled to perfection, gooey, yet crispy and warm! Sat in the park on Chestnut and had a lovely alfresco lunch on a beautiful chilly day. Will be back!!

The buffalo chicken wrap is hands down one of the best buffalo chicken wraps I have ever had. Definitely will return to try other sandwiches or wraps!

Consistently fresh, great food options anytime time of the day! They have a very extensive menu with plenty of vegetarian options. They will also let you swap out the items to suit your dietary needs/restrictions since everything is made to order. My personal favorites are the Tofu Banh Mi sandwich and the Mango Salad, as both are unique and always well made. The wait tends to be on the longer side so order online or over the phone if you are in a hurry.

Outstanding fresh ingredients, great flavor combinations - the breakfast burrito was the best. The smoothies are wonderful and loaded with fresh fruit and veggies. The breakfast sandwiches and burritos are delicious. Best way to start the day. Only off note was the avocado toast - very immature flavor but hey the nearest avocado tree is at least 1000 miles south of here so forgivable.

The Pear Salad was literally the best salad Ive ever had. My boyfriend loves mangoes so he got the Mango Salad and we both agreed that it was also amazing. The ingredients are very fresh and the salad dressings are very flavorful. If youre looking for a quick lunch on the go or to sit in a cute little café, I highly recommend this place. I lived in Philly 3 years and never tried this place out but, now every time Im back for a visit Ill definitely stop by Café Square One.

Right now, this cafe is not offering dining in, and not serving coffee, at this time. However, I did receive good customer service, and I wish I had enjoyed the lavender latte more; it sounded better. It did not taste bad, but it certainly did not taste as though it contained food grade lavender oil.

Used to enjoy this spot. Today was my first time back in a while. Slow service, inside was a mess, and very stuffy.They got one of our orders incorrect, with bacon instead of sausage. Every ingredient in my sandwich was overcooked...rubbery egg, rubbery bacon, and rock hard toast. It was an effort to swallow. And the spinach tasted old and unwashed. The avocado was decent.I’ll give them another try in the future, but they need to get back to square one.

I requested Oat milk in my oatmeal, they charged me for it but did not add it. Also it took them 20 minutes to make oatmeal. Oatmeal was very runny

I think 5 stars is a bit much for a cafe. 5 stars should knock me off my chair, but this place doesnt exactly do that. The smoothies are good, and the breakfast is solid as well. I typically will alternate between the chicken Caesar salad, or the buffalo wrap. Both excellent choices.Most of my colleagues prefer the protein bowl, or the Chipotle Chicken wrap (which is super spicy).At the end of the day, this place is solid all around. I think it needs to be a bit cleaner aesthetically, but nonetheless they make solid sandwiches.

The mango salad and pear salad were both incredible: fresh fruits and veggies, huge portions, and most importantly delicious! Wish I lived closer, Id come here every day.

Great salad and sandwiches

Place is very good and quick. So far had Chicken Caesar Wrap and Oriental Salad both were amazing. Cheap prices compared to the portion sizes and others in the area.

Eight of us had a great breakfast. Eggs were so good, my daughter who hates eggs loved them from the Farmers Platter. Coffee was outstanding. Very reasonably priced. A great find. No waffles or pancakes, but didnt miss them at all.

I discovered Cafe Square One when I was in the neighborhood for a meeting and ran a Yelp search for salads. I was surprised that I had never heard of the place since it has great reviews and a lot of them! The cafe is small and has a few tables, but Ive taken my orders to go.Ive stopped by on two different occasions and have been very satisfied with my experiences. The menu is pretty comprehensive - lots of sandwich, wrap and salad options. Ive had their chicken caesar and southwest salads and both were great. Fresh ingredients, delicious dressings and super tender chicken (and lots of it!).The employees are so friendly! And I havent had to wait more than a few minutes on each visit. I will definitely return whenever Im in the area and need a quick, healthy lunch!

Very dirty inside, no air conditioning. Way too hot to stay for any reasonable period of time, and wifi is incredibly slow. Definitely dont recommend, there are better places around each corner. This place sucks.

Wonderfully friendly staff and truest delicious food! Theres a huge variety of options (even for vegetarians and vegans!) and an extensive drink list. I stopped by for lunch during a conference - the next morning when I came for coffee the barista remembered my name (unbelievable after seeing me once, considering how many people they must serve throughout the day). Ill definitely be coming back - cant recommend this cafe enough!

Me an my husband are staying at a nearby hotel, we were looking up places to have breakfast an this place popped up. Its a very cute place with a variety of food to eat. I choose the sunrise sammies with a berry parfait an my husband got the fully loaded. Simply delish an very hearty.This will keep us full as we are walking around exploring.

Someone wrote a review about seeing a roach... I too saw one. Was waiting for my sandwich to be made and looking at the side wall next to where the guy was making a sandwich, there was a large roach scaling the wall. I used to really like it here but I question how sanitary it is.

Small hole in the wall but the food and prices were suprisingly good. Refills on coffee arent free. Over all I would go back for the food.

Be prepared for a slightly longer wait for a sandwich than youre used to, but thats because they make all of them to order and fresh while you wait. Generous meat portions on all the sandwiches/paninis/wraps. Make sure to get a pickle on the side. Havent had the sushi, but if its as fresh as the sandwiches, Im sure its delicious!

Ordered the Bello panini. It was delicious!!! The diced and marinated Portobello mushroom accompanied by the fresh spinach and roasted pepper, and topped with pesto was super satisfying.

Its hard to find good hot chocolate, this place comes pretty close. Its immediately drinkable too, you wont burn yourself on the first sip.
