The food was utterly phenomenal. Ordered the catfish sandwich. You could tell it wasnt frozen, because of the way it flaked when breaking through the flavorful outer crust. Also the way the fish tastes from the seasoning in the crust like it seeped into every pore was amazing. The service was phenomenal. From the waitress, to the general manager Kevin, and the owner. Everything was amazing!!!Plus they have great live music to set the relaxed vibe on Fridays and Saturdays. This is definitely a π in the rough.
I loved my experience here. The establishment is clean and lively. Everyone was so well mannered and respectful. Definitely will be coming back.
Fantastic service and fantastic food. The best fried chicken we have ever had. We stopped in on a whim and weβre very glad we did! Highly recommend.
Really enjoyed this place for dinner. The food is heavy so come hungry to share with friends or make sure you only order one thing. Fried chicken in all of its forms was very tasty. The live music is cool and perfect amount of options for both food and drink. Definitely plan on going back to try their brunch food, but its worth noting that their brunch menu is available all through-out the day which can be a plus.
This place was amazing. We went for brunch on a Tuesday at 1:30. We had the three little pigs and the hangover and both were equally as good. The service was wonderful and the beer selection was awesome. Definitely check this place out.
It was so filling and delicious. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. They also have the best coffee. My son had their Hot Chocolate and he gave it two thumbs up. We will definitely be back.
Very hip place, wonderful vibe. Great service, nice and clean. Delicious food, yummy coffee, great drinks. Cant wait to get the chance to go on a day with live music.
Great event better food the mac and cheese bites are to die fo
Deep fried Mac N Cheese and chicken and waffles. The place is super cool- service was awesome. Dre is a great server and champion of the concept.
A birthday dinner. First time there. Live rock country duo was the icing on the cake. Pecan encrusted catfish out of this world. cornbread was like an out of body experience. server j. was très magnifique. the burger with whatever special comeback sauce they use is super tasty and the bun was another delicious meal in itself. cant wait to take friends and go back. oh did i mention really reasonable prices.
Have been for some decent sandwiches in the past. Good alternative to a gastropub. However, if you are a true fan of southern cooking you maybe disappointed. Seasoning could have been stronger and some elements were over cooked. Portion size fair. Staff friendly. Outdoor seating made for a quick meal, not comfortable.
Chicken & Waffles were good, as well as the hash browns and scrambled eggs. Loved the Blackberry Lavender Lemonade, tasted like the LL Cool Tea from PersonaliTEA tbh. Outdoor seating while the building next door was doing construction was NOT it, as stuff flew in our food but overall a great breakfast/brunch spot.
Flannel is a perfect spot for brunch or lunch. The dishes are innovative and exciting, the atmosphere is cool and hip, the servers are energetic and attentive. Enjoyed it and has become a staple in my restaurant selections.
This is delicious northern food. Ive had a terrible time finding good food in this state, so thought Id go into the big city. π₯°π₯° Finally! Someone knows how to season food! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Two thumbs up, Im so grateful you exist. However - It is a slap the the face to call this good from the south. Do NOT expect it to taste like the south. I was born and raised on the Texas Border, never came north of Virginia in 40 years of life until last year - from Cali to Florida Ive eaten it all. Sweet honey child, this isnt like anything in the south.... but its the best thing Ive eaten in the north, so you win a trophy here.
The food and serving size was awesome. We got to meet the chef in person and give our reviews which was a real treat. Will come back again when I visit my homestate.
The food was fantastic! Ill be thinking of that chicken for a while yet! The folks there were genuinely nice, and the live music was delightful!
Comfort food. Wait staff was friendly and service was quick. Had a vodka tonic specially made and it was clean, great taste. Overall, nice experience.
This place is a breakfast/brunch staple for me. Honestly they have the best biscuit in Philly, hands down. Simple food done right and you can wash it down with great coffee.
Always amazing! We have brought numerous groups to Flannel now and everyone has remarked how spectacular their experiences have been. Some of our favorites are the short rib poutine (incredibly tender and flavorful), the avocado toast topped with an egg, chicken and waffles; Pigs in a Blanket sandwich, and Mac Daddy (my personal favorite). And their cornbread is so buttery, itβs definitely the best cornbread weβve ever eaten. The atmosphere is very homey and comfortable, with the aroma from the coffee bar hitting you when you walk in. Marc and his staff are very friendly and have a great passion and love for southern food, and they do a great job sharing it with their hometown of Philly. One visit is not enough.
Loved it!!! Great food, awesome staff, Julia was a delight, great personality and a terrific waitress, wonderful experience,we will be back! Thank you!
Went there on an icy winter Saturday afternoon in February 2021. They have indoor dining (not all restaurants on E Passyunk have indoor dining). I ordered a special, the Montecristo, and dulce de leche latte and my dining partner ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. The Nashville hot chicken comes with fries, but the Montecristo does not β but the Montecristo is huge so it really doesnβt need a side. The Montecristo comes with Hollandaise sauce on the side. Cool, causal vibe inside and good service. They offer touchless menu and touchless payment option (pay by your phone via QR code). Highly recommend it
Delicious blackened chicken wrap, with deep, rich flavor. Small, but it packed a punch. Chicken and waffles was very good, too. The spices in the breading stood up against the waffle and syrup. Service was w little slow, but they did have a huge wave of people come through and they acknowledged the slow turnaround. Really cant complain.
Great Nashville hot chicken sandwich! Got that with grits as a side. Very filling and super nice outside area to sit.
Looking for a different breakfast/ lunch experience. Flannel is your place. Quaint restaurant with GREAT food. I tried the Spicy Korean BBQ shrimp on grits. Amazing. My husband had the chicken sandwich which he said was just as good. The staff was on point, very friendly. I cant wait to go back and try more dishes. Please try it out. You WILL NOT be disappointed. Out of certain items. but the supply chain for certain items is a reality of the times. food was very good and the service was good. pleasant dinner and would go back .
Pork sliders just ok. I should go for flannel steaks next time. π€
My review of Chhaya was still posted for Flannel so this is an update but this isnew. Everything was fine and good. I just dont need another white person centric brunch place in my rotation. At least the wait for a table wasnt terrible on the weekend but I went in September so who knows now. My bagel sandwich was really hearty.
It is so easy to enjoy a meal here. The vibe is casual. The service is friendly. The food is good. They even have a liquor license. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. They often have live entertainment in the evenings. Stop by.
So, I called there this morning to place a take out order. Their response was we are too busy to do take out orders. In this day and age of Covid, you would think they would welcome additional business. We have gone there quite a few times to eat in and take out, as we make every effort to support local business. But how does one turn down business ? I will have to seriously consider supporting them moving forward
My granddaughter took me here for brunch. It was excellent.
Great food and coffee! I enjoy going there since its close to my home. The staff are friendly and professional. The food is wonderful and different. Try there red velvet cake with cream cheese very good. For brunch their biscuits and gravy are to die for and most of the menu is really delicious. They are observing covid-19 regulations the inside is small and they have outdoor tent and sidewalk tables. The owner, Mark usually makes a point of stopping by your table to say hello.
Attentive service, cool atmosphere, excellent and unique menu. We will be back again and again. Itβs a new favorite!
Probably one of the greatest place Iβve eaten in the city. My friend and I wanted somewhere new and different, we got way more than we expected. Great service, atmosphere and food. We started off with the Mac Daddy which was cooked to perfection. My friend got the 3 lil piggies ....AMAZING. I got the Hot Chicken Sandwhich, donβt be scared, it wasnβt too hot! We ended with a piece of cornbread, donβt forget to put butter on it! Every Friday they have a band, we saw Code 4, they set the vibe just right. Amazing, amazing and amazing is all I can say!
Interesting menu with a variety of traditional and fusion dishes. Great food. Good prices. Excellent location. Has a laid back vibe with a mixed crowd. Service was friendly and fast. We went on a busy Saturday brunch time. The host and busers were slow and discombobulated by a few people waiting. People were confused, host wasnt clear with direction. Either take names or tell people to wait in line, otherwise they have no idea what is going on. Saw two groups walk away because they couldnt tell that the wait actually wasnt that long. Other than that, this is a great spot and a solid four stars. Go check it out.
Awesome food, great atmosphere!!! So much food for your money. The people here are great. Thank you John for hospitality!!!
Amazing food!!! By far one of the best places on passyunk, highly recommended!!!
Highly recommend catfish sandwich and hot chicken sandwich!
Great food with a southern atmosphere. The staff is very friendly too
Good hospitality and great tasting eggs! The servers are very accommodating
Service was friendly. The poutine is quite tasty. I waz surprised there was not syrup or butter offered with the pancakes. Slightly overpriced imo.
This place has a DELICIOUS brunch! The French toast was AMAZING, the service was prompt and friendly, and all 3 of us cleaned our plates.
With so many excellent brunch locations in the neighborhood, I had high hopes for Flannel. Previously the location of Chhaya Cafe, Flannel has brunch options from grits and biscuits, to bagel sandwiches (they also have lunch options). I went for brunch and ordered their BACT to the Future, Gritty Grits, and a biscuit. The bagel sandwich was pretty tasty--it had bacon, avocado, tomato, and cream cheese--however the bagel wasnt toasted which seems like an easy way to make the sandwichΒ that much better. The grits were delicious--definitely recommend those! While the biscuit tasted good, it was under-baked (according to my expertise from watching the Great British Baking Show, lol). Overall, Flannel didnt quite live up to my high hopes, but Id still recommend it for a nice brunch spot, and I can see myself eating here again.
Great service. Great food. Love this place.
I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant the staff was very polite, friendly and very pleasant and welcoming and the food was awesome
The service was so so. We were told our server was the manager...our hash browns were burnt and hard...he said next time order them less cooked. Not sure what thats about but...now we know the rules.
Great service and fabulous food! Will be back!
So amazing. Went yesterday and the food was truly delicious. Atmosphere was amazing, food came in a timely manner and looked very delicious. Everyone was so polite and restaurant looked so cozy. Definitely coming back, especially for the hot chicken sandwich againπ€
Delicious food, comfy dining room/bar, friendly staff. Loved it
Both are meals were delicious, amble beer choices and excellent service from our server Chen.
Great food and lots of choices. Waiter was perfect and bill payment was easiest Ive ever seen. Great experience. Suggest everyone try it.
Good sandwiches, salad, avocado toast, and sweet tea. Service was great!
This is my second time going there and I have tried 3 dishes! Both soooooo good! π€πΏ
Went there as I was visiting Philly. What an amazing place to see. The service was so good they were very accommodating. The cold brew was very dark and rich. Didnt need anything added like at some places. Also they have this really cool thing with there customer loyalty program. Is really cool, they keep the people card in name in order in boxes for all the locals.
This is one of our favorite places in Philly. The food is delicious (we highly recommend the cornbread!) and the staff is very welcoming and genuine. This was our first time returning after COVID restrictions were put in place and their team went above and beyond to make dine-in comfortable and safe. It seems that everything is made in-house from their lavender tea to their ranch dressing. By now weve eaten all of their sandwiches and you cant go wrong with any of them!
Iβve been here 3/4 times and the service is always wonderful. Lots of nice little details and you can tell the staff cares. Hard to do in covid service times. Just wanted to say thank you!
Staff was super friendly. I got a bunch of sides because I was eating a heavier meal later. Biscuits SLAP. Cornbread DELICIOUS. Seriously, these are amazing southern sides. Cant wait to try the entrees. Atmosphere is cozy too
I had such wonderful service at Flannel from server Beau last week, and owner Marc stepped outside to greet me as a guest and spoke with me for around 15 minutes. As a hospitality professional who provided luxury-level VIP service to hotel guests for 5 years, Flannelβs genuine, caring, warm & friendly guest service will keep me coming back. I was so impressed. Beau was attentive, kind, and happy to have me as his guest. I felt safe & comfortable at their outdoor seating, and theyβve gained a guest for life. Thank you, Flannel, for my first outdoor dining experience over only iced coffee last week. As a woman who also has an autoimmune disease, and is hesitant to eat out due to being on an immunosuppressant, you made 2 iced coffees feel like a 3-course meal.
Food was great service was great the Music Live great everything is great and they were fast.
Very friendly staff & brunch was delicious. Will definitely be returning.
Order from this restaurant today because they are literally 5 minutes away. Delivery time says 45 minutes which is good. Took and hour and a half for me to get my food. The driver was waiting for 20-30 mins to pick up the food from the restaurant that kept saying they needed more time and when the food gets here everything is cold, coffee cold waffle cold and the chicken all cold. It felt like the food had been sitting for over 30 minutes. Worst experience ever I will never recommend this restaurant and urge ppl to stay away.
Great food, fantastic service!
Went for Brunch and ordered their Thanksgiving special.Seriously amazing food. There is no shortage of great restaurants in Philly, but Flannel still stands out.
The food was great and the service top notch. i will definitely go back.
Went there today for Restaurant week. It was my first time . we had a three course meal and beverage for a great price . I enjoyed everything that I tasted
Absolutely amazing southern foods. I cant get enough of their cornbread, and the flannel Benedict is nothing short of food magic.
Good food. Friendly service.
Delicious! The hot chicken sandwich was great. Highy recommended.
Stopped here when I was visiting from NY. Great service, waiters & waitress are very polite. Nowwww onto the FOOD, I ordered the Chicken & waffles... it was very good! Then I had the turkey bacon & eggs, that was good too! The lavender blackberry lemonade was on point too! Would def visit again!
It was my first time coming in, just kind of stumbled upon it while walking through Passyunk. My boyfriend & I were looking for something brunchy and the name caught out eye. It was a very cozy and light experience. Food was very good.. and the interior design really caught my eye. Highly recommend this place. Service was a 9/10.
Hands down warmest spot on the ave. Reminds you of home everytime.
Had dinner here on Valentines Day with my wife. The restaurant did a great job with all the Covid requirements and everything was very clean. We ordered Butternut Squash Ravioli, BBQ Ribs platter, side of coleslaw, Mac Daddy Mac and Cheese, Biscuit and Cornbread. So, alot of food. Everything was excellent but the Biscuit was just ok (little too cold and dry). All that only cost $54. Lots of value for great food! They are a BYO now but will start selling beer, wine and drinks in the coming months since obtaining a liquor license. Cant wait to go back.
Delicious food and great service! The duck confit sandwich, chicken and waffles, pancakes, and made from scratch biscuits with homemade wine jelly were all DELICIOUS. The service was excellent as well.
Dinner is great, brunch is great, and if you can go back in time and get their Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for home from 2020 I would recommend doing that too.
People are awesome, food is super awesome. Cant say enough nice things about it. Please support places like these during the pandemic and buy some good food.
Avo toast was very tiny barely any Avo and I subbed eggs for mushrooms and they didnβt give me very little mushrooms but upcharged me.
Excellent service, friendliest staff ever, I felt welcomed, cozy and and so full after the delicious food! Was not disappointed
