Hit or miss depending on who works here. One time I ordered a draft latte, it had way too much foam, (literally 1/2 was foam) which I know isnt right so then I asked if they can remake them. The staff at the time made it sound like its completely normal, when it is not.I know people can make mistakes what not especially if they are in training but please be honest to customers. I know a latte should not have 1/2 foam (Its like saying 1/2 foam is normal for beer).
Great coffee and lovely vibe. Though I didnt try the pastries, they had some of the most appetizing and mouth watering pastries Ive seen at coffee shops.
These corporate places are hit and miss. Ive been here twice in the past yr and they just seems snobby. The place downtown is the same but at least they make a great espresso.
Some of the best coffee I’ve had, so good I didn’t want to spoil with sugar!Kind and friendly staff that take time and care to each customer, and the cafe has a cosy feel to it with a nice atmosphere. Nice views of the city hall square nearby from the front, too!Popular with the local business workers and people passing by, such as myself.Coffee and sweet treats well priced compared with the big name competitors, so I’d favour this place over the Starbucks across the street! You should too 🙂
Excellent Americano. Plus it was nice to drink it inside with the coffee in a ceramic mug.
Convenient location near City Hall to grab a coffee. No cushioned seating, but clean and mellow atmosphere.
Amazing coffee, Amazing service. Whats more to say?
Best coffee in the area at least a mile or two radius. I’ve tried coffee from about every place in the area. By far this is the best super smooth, low acidity and almost refreshing. This place is recommended, keep in mind the long lines move fast. This coffee is so good you don’t need milk or sweetener at all.
Excellent service, coffee, and pastries; possibly the best quick coffee shop experience in Philly
The best coffee in the town. Delicious baked goods. Would definitely recommend anyone to try it.
A go to place for the coffee, the staff makes nice coffee and the place stays always clean, only thing that i dont like about them is the seating at the Cafe on their right side...the benches are uncomfortable for me...may be because I am petite..And its a busy place always, so I dont suggest this place to work or read book..too noisy.
Really beautiful space and I had a very pretty, nicely balanced macchiato
Love coming here whenever we come to Philly. Their lattes, americanos and coffee are amazing.
Great coffee, try the Draft Iced Latte!
Its not a bad place to enjoy a good cup of coffee at a fair price.
This is a great spot to stop by for coffee. If you havent been to La Colombe before then you should really go to their flagship location in Fishtown to get the full La Colombe experience. This is still a very nice spot that I go to regularly on my way into or out of the city. As busy as they get here too, theres almost always room for one!
The coffee is nice but the pastries are cold and not that good.
Simply awful customer service. We ordered a coffee and were waiting off to the side for our Uber to arrive (it was raining and extremely cold outside). The barista essentially kicked us out for waiting inside, even though we were out of the way with our masks on. I was shocked at that level of disrespect. It was uncalled for.
Great service, great coffee. Nice seating outside overlooking City Hall!
Oh wow! Great coffee and dont miss the croissants. Worth the walk
The best coffee in center city
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean location
Great coffee and delicious pastries!
My favorite place in Philly, coffee good, the best in Philly
Good coffee at a good price, but I asked for a cappuccino and was served a latte instead. They do not provide wifi, but if you are a TWC or Comcast subscriber, there are nearby hotspots. The seating and atmosphere are not conducive to getting a lot of work done, however. Its a coffee shop for coffee only.
Wonderful coffee and pastries
Amazing place, amazing coffee and great customer service to keep everyone safe.
Probably the best coffee in the region, if not in the nation.
Love this place! Nice location, always had good coffee, restrooms clean, employees nice. Only downside is hours - which they stayed open later
This location is in a convenient place. Service was fast and friendly, and coffee was good. Even though it was pretty busy, there is actually quite a bit of seating. The waves of crowds seem to come and go, but I feel like personally even though there is the seating, it might be a bit busy to work or study here. But, definitely a good place to stop in for a coffee.
This place does it for me. The service was sociable and attentive. Feeling here is like a restaurant in Fort Worth I liked.
Good coffee and service. Prefer the older interiors and cups but understand why they might have switched for easier upkeep and such. This one is less distinctive and feels like it could be any modern coffee shop. Not distinctively La Colombe.
Great coffee and almond croissant!
Nice little coffee shop across from Philadelphia City Hall. Pleasant staff and good coffee. For COVID-19 guidelines, they take your order right outside the door and then you proceed inside to pick it up.
Some times good
I stop at La Colombe for coffee every morning before work. The line is almost always absurdly long but it moves quickly, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. They know the regulars and often go out of their way to have our drinks waiting for us by the time we get to the register because they’re cool like that. I’ve heard people complain that their coffee is too expensive but honestly it tastes so much better than what I get anywhere else in the area and I’m down to support a Philly-based business.
Customer Service was really good
7÷6 nice
I come here often when Im visiting Philly and we always stop by after a romp in the Christmas Village. Im not a Starbucks fan so I typically try any other coffee shop that i can find. Coffee is good, lattes and cappuccinos are great as well BUT stay away from the hot chocolate. Overpriced hot chocolate with very little milk and zero whipped cream.
The only good coffee in Philadelphia??
The coffee is pretty good. I personally enjoy the space especially when it’s not jam packed busy. Nice spot to duck into and get some work done or just take a second to relax before going about your day.
Great place with proper coffee & treats. Wonderful staff & super location to people watch. Nice natural wood tables. Will return when back in Philly.
Their center city location is right across from City Hall. Tho not as big as their Fishtown spot, the quality of the coffee is still there. While it can be pricey, it is worth every penny you pay. I dont think there is better quality coffee anywhere else in the city! In addition to amazing coffee, the service was excellent. I walked in to a line that surrounded the store and still received my coffee less that than 10 minutes later. They also try to be as sustainable as possible by offering metal stirring spoons, glassware, and only providing to-go cups and lids if you need/ask for them. I cant wait to go back!
This is such a cute little place and the folks who work there are extremely nice. I had a few hours to kill and Emilio,Kadi, and Matt made me feel very welcome and comfortable. First time here great experience! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK GUYS!!
One of the best coffee roasters. I prefer their espresso over any other place in Philadelphia. Its smooth but strong, perfection! Pastry counter is always clean and neat. Selection is good as well. Must go!
Delicious bold flavored latte. And hot (so many cafes serve the coffee warm). Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Clean modern design cafe in a perfect location
I am normally the biggest critic of any hipster resort such as this, but I really like this coffee shop. Dont get me wrong, it is Philly Hipster Central. You will be served by a man in plaid suspenders who is sporting a 1913 moustache. But what you get served will be a great cup of coffee for a reasonable price! The quality of the coffee brewed here is second to none. I will never go to Starbucks again. I really like their iced coffee!
As much flavor and refinement for your coffee as you care to afford to pay, without the lovely burnt, charcoal flavor Starbucks ruins their beans with. Is it worth it? Hard to say. I would argue a good 50% of that cost is a side effect of the word la in its title and its allusion to a European cafe. Nothing else resembles a European cafe, but the coffee does taste good
Quick service!!Vibe was weird as I was there on an off hour. Polite.
I have a number different coffee houses I visit, always find one in whichever neighborhood Im working in
Best location in philly to have a cup of coffee. Facing city hall with an amazing view on JFK and Market street. Highly recommended...
To put it simply, I live in Baltimore and I have driven here on multiple occasions with the intent of coming here and I dont care what happens after. The cold draught lattes at this place are out of this world good. If youve been considering trying it, stop delaying and just go. Your life is about to get better.
How can you be a coffee shop with no wifi!!If youre just going for a coffee its fine. Dont plan on getting any work done though since La Colombe is too cool for wifi.
Great dark roast coffee, I prefer this taste better than the Starbucks version. And liked the wooden sitting space they have, great for a quick work-sit while enjoying the coffee and 15th St. view.
La Colombe is definitely one of those cafes you can go to and know youre going to get a great cup of coffee every time. Particularly in love with their new draft latte, employing molecular gastronomy science to enhance your coffee drinking experience. Highly recommend. This location is also beautifully large and well situated in the city. Definitely a must go to for a great cup of coffee!
Simply the best place to grab a latte at a nice price and beautiful cafe. Always my go to place to meet up with friends and grab a coffee while running errands in the city. Good bye Starbucks hello La Colombe
La Colombe is a local favorite. I personally -love- the sugar they serve as well as the $2.00 price point. Of the neighborhood coffee shops, thats the cheapest by about $0.16The clientele here is excellent and cultured. They have an excellent selection of coffee drinks. The overall ambiance is one that speaks culture.Cons:~The lighting is very dim and not an inspiring place not an ideal one for reading.~The lines can be long and block the entrance.
I’ve tried three coffee places unique to Philly. La Columbe was the only coffee I finished and left wanting more. Thanks for not burning your beans!
No soy milk? Why do good coffee places keep dropping soy milk? It tastes way better in coffee than oat or almond. Guys please stop this madness! You are ruining my coffee!
They are OK,but I had trouble understanding them. The person who was waiting on me didnt speak English very well. The coffee was fresh and alright.
Great coffee. They have cold brew on tap AND lattes - both of which I highly recommend. There is also cold pressed canned coffee if you want something quick to go and wake you up.I havent had a chance to try their foods yet but they look delicious.
These people are just terrific. Went in around 6:45 on a Saturday. Not only did I get complimentary cup of hot brown after purchasing a pound but they provided several free pastries which they attributed to them closing soon and needed to get rid of. I feasted on those for days. Top quality place.
The quality of the coffee is enough on its own to bring you back, but then you are greeted warmly and accommodated efficiently. These folks know how to make you feel welcome, even when the line gets a bit absurd. Some of my friends are dairy sensitive, and they love the recent upgrade of the almond milk used here. Dont even get me started on the pastry selection they bring over from their Fishtown location fresh every morning...
Its a small coffee shop with a pleasant atmosphere. I love the lattes in a can they offer. Rumor has it that when they close at 7, you could get some of the food they discard for free if youre in the shop before 7.
Nasty as coffee with all the rave I thought I was gunna be in heaven. Ewwwwww gimmie my dunkins
