Sitting outside on a nice day with some coffee and pastries is one of my family’s favorite things to do. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff is so wonderful! I have never had a bad experience here.
I really enjoy Le Pain Quotidien when I visit center city Philadelphia. A very quaint, laid back atmosphere. The food has always been unique, hearty, fresh and beautifully presented. The service has always been spot on, with professionalism, courtesy and attentiveness. This particular location plays wonderful music.
Really beautiful restaurant. We sat outside and the service was excellent. We only went for pastries so we didn’t get the full experience but great nonetheless. The decor inside was stunning and the restaurant was kept very clean. I was a little disappointed because they ran out of most of their desserts with the exception of some fruit tarts which I didn’t want; however, the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. It is on the pricier side but I think your paying for the quality of your experience at this point.
In LOVE with this nice restaurant. Great service, very hip.. gives you an old, italian vibe! Food is amazing.Only thing is.. I wish there was more of a wine menu.Everything is so fresh and made with love.
The food was good and the place is very pretty but the service really ruined the overall experience. Coffee got cold waiting for sugar and no spoons were given to stir. Bread was given with no butter and my side salad was never eaten because the dressing never came. The egg order was incorrect. When finally brought, after the entire table finished eating we were charged for an extra egg. To boot, the manager was condescending when I asked for an update on the egg status. COVID was not the issue as the restaurant was not even a little but crowded.
Service was great. I got a breakfast sandwich and a lemonade, the sandwich was good but I didn’t enjoy the lemonade. Recommend for breakfast if ur in philly.
Love LPQ! When I lived in NYC, I would go there all the time and the food is amazing. First time trying this place is Philly. Monday afternoon, slow time of the day. One more table. Selection of desserts was very limited, but we choose few pastries. Pain su a chocolat (chocolate croissant) was cold, dry and hard. as well Pain aux Raisins (pastry with Raisins) and Choco chip cookie. I was only asked if I would like a Organic Butter Brioche to be toasted.Large Latte arrived in a cracked cup but still tasty and good flavor. In NYC, they practice to leave a bottle of water on the table, but not in Philly. Dont know if service practice has changed or what.
The food is regularly well prepared and flavorful, employees hands out awesome customer service. I really like how clean it is and vibes. I highly recommend this place.
Oh. My. God.Absolutely fantasticIf you are within 100 miles, come here
They offer the most delicious avacado toast and avacado omelette. The pastries are super delicious. I highly recommend the Belgian chocolate brownie and almond croissant. The only downside is the coffee. Overall, I had a great experience.
As we all stand by awaiting the return of in restaurant dining in the state of Pennsylvania and the city of Philadelphia. This is going to be one of those most loved places that we look forward to returning to. Comfort and civility elegantly presented with a hot wonderful cup of coffee and a delectable pastry is a celebration of getting a little closer to the things we hold dear that have been hiding behind these masks.
After some confusion about whether or not there was actual table service, of course I couldnt hear with the mask and the plexiglass, but we figured it out.We had an omelette a breakfast sandwich and a waffle and everything was very very good. In fact I was telling my wife that the waffle might have been the best one Ive had in a very long time. Although The omelette plate look like a normal size entree the breakfast sandwich and the waffle were a bit smaller so I would suggest asking questions about the size of your dish if youre really hungry. when I order the waffle the woman behind the counter did ask if I wanted a second one which indicated to me it was as small as it looked in the picture. either way everything was very good and we will definitely plan another breakfast there when we are in town.
They have a delicious rustic multigrain gluten-free bread that is a hearty addition to a generously filled sandwich, or just toasted with a spread of butter. They were also kind enough to let me try a sample before I made my purchase!
Le Pain is always a sure bet for a fine European-style meal. Soups are fantastic. I also like the tarine.
Great breakfast. Great place to go for breakfast if your in Philly!!
Great coffee bevs and amazing baked goods.
Loved the ambience, food and service.
Went there for breakfast over the weekend, really chill, clean, French bistro with amazing breakfast and a really excellent service. Will definitely come here over and over.
Im only in Philly for a few days and made it a mission to visit several local bakeries/cafes. The pastry here is a bit expensive for me, but I got the daily special tartine (Thursday - chicken mozzarella) and I was blown away ! This was my first tartine ever, and wait staff was super friendly and helpful when I had to ask if it was the kind of food to use hands or utensils for (apparently there was actually a sign on the wall behind me explaining how to eat them properly, LOL). Overall a great experience, and when I return to Philly Ill definitely be back !
It is the little things. Your condiments are being held hostage behind the counter. I had to ask, and the employees were put out that I did for honey. I am having tea. Then I had to ask for a stirrer. Common sense and customer service would have you ask your guest how they would like their tea. Not to mention that the mint is leaves in my cup without a way to get them out.
Excellent food and atmosphere
I ordered breakfast items via doordash, I received pancakes with rotting black bananas, i added extra berries for 2 dollars, but I only received 1 strawberry cut into tiny pieces and 2-3 blueberries. The $8.00 belgian waffle was a mini waffle, not enough to fill even one person. The quiche was only 1 slice for $14. There was a side of salad with the quiche but they sent it without dressing. I have to throw out the salad. I thought I was getting a mini pie of quiche in $14. Latte was good but the 10 oz cup was half filled. Luckily, I got a refund for coffee via doordash. Croissants were fresh and nice size. Next time I will only get coffee and croissant from this cafe as they are the best value. They should clearly mention on the doordash menu the sizes of the quiche and waffle so that the customer can decide how much to order. As we are a family of four and one slice of quiche and mini waffle was not enough.
Great food. Nice atmosphere
I enjoyed the service and food was delicious planning on going there again
I was here two days ago with my friend; we spontaneously happened to stumble upon this place while walking around in the city. The restaurant/cafe is incredibly authentic and Parisian inspired. It is a super cozy atmosphere with delicious food and drinks to go along with it. The staff is friendly as well, however, it did take a minute for our server to come over to greet us. -Nevertheless I would return again, amazing quality!
Great value and flavor for breakfast sandwiches. Mini carrot cake is delicious!
Great gourmet breakfast/brunch place. If you dine in though, service can be a bit slow. Fresh baked goods, pancakes, sandwiches are all tasty. Juices and other drinks also taste fresh every time. Offers a good option for kids menu as well.
I love studying at cafes and this one is by far One of my favorite. It’s quaint and quiet, never too busy and it has the cutest rustic French theme inside. The music is very relaxing and the staff is so kind! They also have some organic things for sale and the only time I get mochas is from this cafe! Highly recommend.
Honestly it was one of the worse experiences I had. Me and my husband were told to sit anywhere, but all tables were dirty. So we sit on the big one ( the only one clean ) for 10 minutes nobody came to talk to us. So finally they started to clean the table, and we relocated. It was like we were invisible. It took about 20 minutes for some Good Samaritan come to take the order. Horrible service! Food was good. Organic and delicious. If you want a good service don’t wast your money. Ps: we just stayed because my husband had a leg injury and could not walk a lot. In other occasion, we would walk out.
The smoked salmon tartine was very good
Couldn’t fault it in any way. A fantastic taste of Belgium breakfast cuisine in downtown Philadelphia. Service was excellent and decor is just exactly what you want for this type of food. It really sets you up for the day.
Had the avocado, tomato omelette and my friend had the Greek yogurt parfait. Both were tasty and fresh. Service was excellent. Seems to have a steady flow of patrons. Unfortunately there is road work outside so we couldn’t enjoy our breakfast there.
I love this place and I go there often. Food is amazing, fresh baked goods and deserts, fresh healthy smoothies too. if you have any projects to be done you can sit in peace and do all the work needed. I usually just sit and relax alone or a friend with a great food. Just go and experience it. Youll be happy. Oh by the way its a bit pricey.
Tremendously awesome staff -- very friendly and welcoming! unfortunately, the food did not deliver quite so much...i found the menu to be a bit sparse, esp. for vegetarian options. i ordered the veggie quiche (to-go). what i got for $12 was a tepid, VERY small slice of quiche nested sloppily on a few leaves of mixed greens. it tasted okay, a little lacking in flavor and veggies. but i just felt really scammed by the price and portion. for $12 i would have expected a lot more and at least hot food.
Looked inviting so our family of four went in. Person behind the counter ask if were eating in. We said yes, so she told us sit down and someone will serve us. During the 15 minutes we waited there were two employees chatting at the display case and two chatting at the other end of the café, both in clear view. No one bothered to come take our order. We just got up and left. Even then, no one noticed or cared that we were walking out. I guess leaning and chatting is more important to the staff than my desire for a good cup of coffee and a pastry.
The food was delicious. I got a teapot full of the delicious jasmine green tea, and the tea set cup was super cute. Le Pain Quotidien has a homey atmosphere with extremely friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Not enough vegan/ pescatarian options but still cute. Need to eat their pattiserie...
Great Chocolate Mouse
Wonderful food and service
Absolutely wonderful place. Open early and into the evening. Friendly service staff here are attentive and helpful. The food is here is incredible, from normal breakfast foods, to more adventurous things as well. The coffee and pastries are incredible and will leave you feeling satsified. You wont spend too much if its just you and someone else, but if youre paying for a group you will want to watch your price. A must visit if youre staying nearby.
Taste good things are fresh, but overpriced in my opinion
Good taste and quality food but pricey
Love the breakfast options and assortment of pastries. Warm and inviting space with friendly staff. Have taken a few people there for either a quick bite or for a coffee stop thats inexpensive and impressive. If you havent done so, yet the Salmon Omelette.
Customer service is beautiful great place
One of my favorite bakery/cafes! Relaxing atmosphere and delicious food&beverages. Perfect place to study and to have some quality time with friends.
Yummy food, fantastic service and a cozy environment. The staff at this location are especially attentive and friendly - one even offered his private hot spot when I couldnt log into the restaurant network! While Im usually not a fan of chain restaurants, this one is an exception!
Great product- always delicious and fresh. However, staff at the counter up front are mostly very unpleasant. I have had three bad experiences here within the last few months, specifically when trying to redeem any kind of reward from the app or email that LE PAIN has directly sent themselves. The staff always seem to be uninformed on any new promotion, then they get frustrated or annoyed that Im using the reward, and hardly interact at all. Its very uncomfortable. If youre going to give out free stuff, please make sure your employees are informed and dont have such a bitter attitude towards it.
I really love the food here. I’m basically addicted to their ham and cheese croissant. However, I frequently dine alone. More than once I’ve witnessed tables with larger parties served before me when I arrived before them. And the prices are very expensive. It’s almost like a tourist trap—yet I always see locals inside having meetings and tables for 1 enjoying brunch. I don’t mind paying the price, but then the service should match the quality of the food. My server was sweet and kind, but I watched as she did not take orders in sequence of how tables were seated. While I waited to place my order, I watched not one but two tables change their mind to eat elsewhere. The one next to me spoke of “too expensive” but I could tell had the server even stopped by the table to greet them, they may have stayed. I hope if Management reads this they understand I am only intending to be constructive.
Love there food! The lemon ginger tea is great for soothing a sore throat! They always have a specials menu thats great if your a frequent visitor!
Love it.CozyThe Danish was sooooo delicious
The pastries and drink are always good, that I do not have any problems with, however the cashier here at the walnut street location was very rude today.I asked if it was possible to pay for my drink and pastry then sit at a table. He gave me a hard time for no reason about not wanting to have a server which was very embarrassing to me.If it wasn’t possible you could have just said so, I’m sure a reasonable customer would understand. If you want to have a better experience, then go to the one on Callowhill Street. Much better and nicer staff.
Wow, what an experience. From the moment we walked in we were treated with the utmost respect. Our server’s warm and welcoming personality complimented the tasty Cobb Salad I had for lunch. Would recommend to all for a peaceful and filling lunch!
One of the nicest restaurants to go to for breakfast. The atmosphere is great. The service is nice and friendly. They got my order as good as it could be every time. They mixed up my order with another customer once but they realized that very quickly. Their prices are reasonable.I am the tea kind of person but my friends loved their cappuccino.
Its good. Pricey. But has a nice hot ginger lemon honey tea. Just get a second job to pay for it.
The restaurant in Philadelphia on Walnut was excellent. Good food and service by Jett was outstanding. Made us feel at home and gave us the history of the cups with no handles.
Hey this place was very very friendly as I am a black girl and this place didn’t even give me one single outcast vibe. This is my new “I need to clear my mind eatery “ and omg the food is AMAZING! Go here if your transitioning to vegan GREAT place to start.
Great location, quality service and good food. The only downside would be to get parking which really is a hassle. Aside that great place to visit and highly recommended. I will be at that location again anytime I am in the area.
Came here for brunch, and came back for dinner another night. Loved both menus. Their omelettes are delicious and their hot apple cider! I was a bit disappointed with their squash soup, I expected it to be sweet. But overall great place, atmosphere, and food.
Perfect place, fancy food in a bistro atmosphere. Love La Madeleine? Youll be devoted to this place. Awesome vegan food too! Selective wine/beer and heavenly desserts. Best avacado toast on the planet!
Great coffee and baked goods. More importantly, the guy who is at the front counter has stellar customer service skills. He is so pleasant that it is a pleasure to go in there.
Love the soy chai latte! The service is good and the food is amazing. The staff are friendly.
I really like this restaurant. Really modern quaint. I know those two words are opposite but it brings in a blended atmosphere. 🍞
Nice place for talking and working. Not too busy but a little bit noise
Stale bread very expensive limited menu. Staff was very nice.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, wonderful variety! We went for breakfast and were thrilled. They have both sit-down service and a grab-and-go counter which makes things convenient. For the food, in addition to your standard eggs etc., their dishes range from spicy Shakshuka (with avocado on top, yum!) to baby pancakes (adorable and cooked each one to a perfect crisp) with and their creativity doesnt skimp on the drinks either. (I especially recommend the mint lemonade -- refreshing and delucious, not too sweet and not too spur!). The service was fast and friendly too, both at the counter and the tables and everybody in the place was charming and cheerful! We saw games on the big communal table on the middle and it looks like it would be a great atmosphere to hang-out (with friends or making new ones) to get some work done over a nice hot cuppa or to take a short break. Definitely would come again!
Excellent restaurant and staff! The manager John does an excellent job in creating a warm welcoming atmosphere. The food is exceptional and so is the service. My favorite LPQ in the country! Highly recommend.
Great cafe! Good atmosphere for studying but also to grab brunch and go with friends :)
Pastries are the best! Never disappointed with food and always a great cup of tea
Everything was excellent! Lovely atmosphere. Attentive, warm service.
Stopped by for breakfast today . The salmon omelet was delicious. My daughter also enjoyed her pancakes. Nice customer service
Food was good. Served quickly and attractively. Waitress was pleasant.
