I feel very fortunate that this is the closest coffee shop to my house. I love the vibes of this place and, although they are closed for Covid, they have some nice outdoor seating and are still serving the same delicious coffee.I typically just get a black coffee (which is really good - better than Brown St nearby) but they also have a large menu of hot and cold coffee drinks. They also have a small case of various baked good, including amazing tarts and some other items. This is a great place to stop for breakfast or a quick afternoon meetup. Definitely check this place out if you have not yet. I assume they will get more busy when the new retail/residential building opens across the street. I just hope they can open up their indoor seating soon.
This place has some phenomenal drinks. I come here very often as I live around the corner. Lucky Goat is 2nd to none in quality. I must say though, sometimes I am a bit inclined to go elsewhere down the street for coffee because the service here is so desolate. I feel so unwelcome when I walk through the door, the staff glares at you as you contemplate your order, and the shop is always like.. dead silent. Still 5 stars, I just think they’d be in a class of their own if they had better service.
Every-time I get a drink I wish I would have come back sooner!!!Excellent spaces to hang on the sidewalk to enjoy a cup and a conversation and meet some neighbors!!This is a locally own locally run socially responsible coffee shop! They also help run and sponsor programming relating to diaspora and cultural issues!Menu of specialty drinks is updated seasonally…and they are always a good range from adventurous and funky to comforting and just darn good.
Creative drink menu and the classics. Just lovely.
Take my word and pick up one of those pastries with your coffee. I’m a big fan of the tarts. Apple tart is a winner
This is just a run of the mill coffee shop that uses other folks beans and baked goods. Go to a real roaster/coffee shop insead. I guess its okay if you live down the street. But, dont make a special trip.
Solid coffee drinks and excellent pastries. Inside closed for now but there are a few small outdoor tables on the sidewalk.
Coffee is very good. quality, i got a latte with banana syrup( perfect flavor and not overwhelming or fake taste), also was with oat milk. Delish!pastries are. very good, my mom loved the cheese croissant and the plain Beignet. Her coffee was also very good with regular milk and caramel. Coffee place is in a corner, limited parking (as usual since is still city area). You can order online
Great little coffee shop! huge variety of unique beverages, and lots of fun descriptions ☺ my sis and I had the Wholly Mammoth and a blackberry latte (respectively). Ill definitely be returning for takeout, and I plan next to try the pastries
Where can you enjoy real coffee in the US? Only at Intelligentsia. The queue is long but worth the wait. The building is sparse and the seating could be improved but need their coffee. Stella
Only good employee is whalen
Great tasting food, excellent service, & got our food within 5 minutes!! It is well worth the wait!
Cute spot that sells la Colombe coffee. A bit pricey compared to other coffee places around but friendly service and they always have unique speciality drinks.
The American habit of queuing for the best coffee on the block bemuses me as it is so unnecessary in the coffee culture of my home town (theres always that new place across the road). Still, it was a sunny Sunday morning with no rush or place to be, so I joined the hipsters on Abbott Kinney to see what the fuss was about. In the end, chatting to a few of the locals in line and listening to the conversations (..if shes late getting to make-up one more time...!) was the highlight. The coffee itself was dark and strong, but colder than lukewarm, leaving me to conclude that I would try that new place across the road next time...
This coffee shop is up the block from me and definitely my favorite in the neighborhood. They are so kind and sweet and make amazing drinks!
Fun, cozy interior of a converted home. Unique style and decor. Delicious espresso. Slightly limited options and space, but friendly service and fair prices. Definitely worth visiting while in the area.
Love this little place! Having recently moved to the area, this place has quickly become my go to coffee place. A variety of items on the drinks menu and all have been delicious. Staff are super friendly. Food selection is more plentiful the earlier you go, and they have a great selection of different cream cheeses to add to your bagel, yum!
Great stop for a coffee and bagel. Super fast service!
I had a vanilla latte with cinnamon and whipped cream. The barista kinda built it with me, and it was delicious. He was also very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was quiet and quaint. A great place to unwind. I came expecting for there to be a variety of pastries to choose from, but there were only bagels left. I DID come at 1pm, and the server told me, the pasties are pretty much gone by the afternoon. Okay I guess. Maybe if I had come earlier this would have been a different review. Overall in satisfied with my experience.
Good personal
I adore this little shop! The owner is so nice, as well as the employees! Im glad its so close and that I can hop over whenever I want to get out of the house for a change of environment, and Im happy that so many others feel the same way. I know there are a lot of ways to make a mocha, but whatever they do here, its my favorite and my gold standard against which I judge other mochas.
Nearly perfection. The coffee was amazing, the pastry was delicious. The leafy, sunny, shady seating area outside was pure delight. You could sit out there and listen to the birds and ponder over the world and offer small courtesies to your fellow customers and consider how rich and lovely and beautiful the world really is.My only complaint was the rap music playing at 7AM inside the shop, but I got out quickly to a far more tranquil, quiet environment.
I love our little neighborhood coffee shop. What treat to have this place around the corner. Everything is very tasty and fresh (although I would be into a breakfast sammie addition!).
This is one of my favorite spots to go to when I want a quiet, calm, cozy place to write or with ice a cup of coffee or tea. They dont have a full kitchen here, which I like because it has access very chill and relaxed coffee house vibe. They do have bagels with like ten different types of cream cheese though. Yummy!
Certainly a top place in the area. the prices are good for what you get. if it was closer to my home i would be here often.
Looooove the iced red eye
This is a really cute & cozy coffee shop. They also have a great selection of specialty and seasonal beverages for coffee, tea, and other drinks. My favorite is a mint tea w a pump of coconut cream syrup. It is also right next to a trolley stop for the eastbound 15 route and a bus stop for the southbound 32 route so it’s in a convenient location.
Really cute coffee shop with a good selection of signature drinks. Really liked their Diablo latte
Best coffee house ever anywhere get a lucky goat you wont regret it
My Dad, his wife and I had been planning on hanging out at OCF on Fairmount Avenue this past Sunday afternoon, but they were unusually packed so we looked to Google Maps and found this coffee house. We stopped in and what a treat! Super friendly, super comfy, and awesome La Colombe coffees. I had a cappuccino that was every bit as good as La Colombe and it was much better than what can be had at OCF. We got there late in the afternoon and there were not many pastry options, but pastries are something we can live without. The coffees and people here are just awesome. 5 Stars.
Amazing tea selection. Well lit atmosphere. Not lots of space but just enough.
Nice neighbourhood coffee shop. Not large but well decorated. Coffee (Cappucino) was excellent, but food selection is poor
Love Lucky Goat--its my go-to coffee shop. Barristas are so nice and friendly. Their standard iced coffee is automatically made as a red-eye which is a bonus for me! Otherwise, I get a classic cappuccino. When they have them, the almond croissants are also delicious.
Cute little shop with delicious coffee and a nice, quiet work space in the back.
A gem of a place. The espresso is creamy and smooth, and the desserts are fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, as well as neat and clean. Also the staff is friendly and accommodating. Go as soon as you can!
This place was super cute and Id like to give it more stars, but the guy behind the counter seemed rather grumpy and put out by our presence. The espresso machine wasnt working so he couldnt draw espresso. The chai latte was overly sweet. Both of those could be forgiven in light of the excellent almond croissant and clean and cozy atmosphere, but I cannot stand poor service. Having a barista treat you like youre a nuisance is incredibly off putting, especially since I passed over other shops because this one had good reviews about service.
I dont like anything from here. I LOVE everything from here. Every sip, every bite, *heaven*.
Nice little corner coffee so it with good brew and friendly service. Only a few tables are inside. Hopefully some more outside when the weather gets nice. Well priced drinks. Grab a cup while waiting for the 15 trolley.
Just moved to the area, was going into work a little later today and stopped here to grab an ice coffee. Hands down the smoothest ice coffee I have ever had and it was nice and strong! Will be back!
Cute little coffee shop with small bites to eat. Many bagel choices were avaiable and even more toppings to put on them like different flavored cream cheeses or fruit preserves. The coffee was great and strong. They had wifi too! My only complaint is that its a small shop so it gets a little cramped at times.
Nice fall menu of drinks. Good amount of seating in the front and back, outside too! Small clean bathroom. Great music. Good amount of outlets.
Great coffee shop. The coffee is very good as are the special drinks (try the Autumn Sweater). Good place to study or meet with friends.
Lucky Goat is the best, relaxing coffee shop in Fairmount. Their teas and coffee are great as well as their pastries and soups. The best part, though, is the relaxed and cozy setting with great low-key music that allows you to still think and work while you enjoy your snack. This is my new favorite working and reading spot, especially on snow days!
Best option in the area! Ive tried about 3- 4 other options in the neighborhood (one being a less than 30 sec walk from my apartment) and Lucky Goat has the best beverages and customer service.
Great spot! The lucky goat latte is my favorite!
Outstanding coffee shop in the area. Great lattes and deserts. Also, has a very comfortable layout for working, studying or just hanging out for great coffee.
Great service. Cool places to sit. Nice drinks and dessert.
I am only giving 3 stars to Lucky Goat because I love the coffee and the Ham and Cheese Croissant. However, I had a very awful experience with one of the baristas today. I came in late morning and ordered an espresso and a baked good with a lovely barista who greeted me as I walked up and was very polite and attentive. I went in the back to sit and study. Then I came up early afternoon to order a coffee to continue my studies. There was a new, white male barista on staff at this time. I have to agree with Ainsleys review. I am pretty sure this has to be the same person they are referring to. I was not greeted upon approaching the register and the look on his face was as if I was disturbing him. I asked for a small coffee and room for some cream, he obliged. He then barked at me that my coffee was over on the side. Startled by his tone, I said, Okay, thank you and proceeded to go get it. No youre welcome or acknowledgment. Then he helped the next customer with their order. Then when done with that customer, before proceeding back to the back again, I said, Oh I was just thanking you for the coffee. To which he replied, oh, okay turned away and kept working on whatever he was doing. I said usually people respond with youre welcome when thanked. He said oh, thanks for the lesson, grabbed some plates to wash and went downstairs to wash them I suppose. The whole interaction was EXTREMELY off-putting. I hate to put all my business on one poor interaction, because all the other baristas I have worked with have been extremely great in terms of customer service. I, too work in customer service and if I had treated a customer the way this person treated me, I would have been reprimanded for sure.
Great place for my bnb on Bambrey!
Great little cozy shop to sit with friends or get some work done.
Excellent service.
Wonderful independently owned coffee shop. Feeling adventurous? Try the El Diablo
Great ambiance & decor.
Love it here! Its such a cute little place, it is wonderfully decorated, the employees are always very pleasant and kind and the coffee is absolutely delicious!
I love this place. They have great specialty drinks and good plain coffee, too.
A very friendly and chill coffee house in Fairmont/Brewerytown. The best coffee in the neighborhood and lots of creative coffee and tea drinks. This is my daily go to for a great cuppa.
I loved the cold brew here!
This place is like family to me. Great coffee and snacks, awesome staff, and cute atmosphere with good wifi and music.
What a pretty little coffee shop, had a great cappuccino with a delightful berry tart
One of the best little coffee shops in the city. The owners and staff are amazing.
Lovely staff, expert baristas, and an inspired approach- exactly what every coffee house aspires to be, and more! Dog-friendly too!
Great coffee place!
Definitely the best coffee shop in the immediate area. Cozy with great coffee
New to philly and so glad i found this place close to home, the place looks cozy and has very pleasant vibe, good espresso drinks and delicious pastries
They pour a shot of espresso into their iced coffee. Definitely quality stuff.
Served la colombe coffee, seems like a waste not to go directly to la colombe
Amazing orange truffle mocha coffee and dog friendly place.
Yummy coffee... no smiles
This tiny, exotic Mom- and Pop-style urban coffee shop features rich, tasty coffee, enthusiastic, social, and eclectic staff, and a friendly active atmosphere ensconced in an ambience directly out of Lagos City. The attractive staff make the best water in North Philly fresh daily!
I was visiting the Philadelphia Art Museum and wanted a cup of coffee and Lucky Goats good reviews beckoned me over. They have a more diverse menu than typical coffee shops: they have the usual coffees that youd find in a typical Starbucks, and they also have a few specialities. I recommend the El Diablo, a peppery mocha which was delicious!Finding parking was a little tricky however: only parallel parking options are available and spots on 26th st were hard to find. However, parking on N Taney St, which is parallel to 26th st, running north to south to the west of 26th was much easier, with lots of free spots.
Nice and quiet atmosphere with good beverages
Good coffeeNice place to sit and be quite
Great place for a quick cup of joe or a creative concoction. Friendly staff!!!
Best lattes around. Love this place.
Grumpy barista. Broken espresso machine.
Excellent bagels and beignets.
Best coffee in town. Always excellent service
Make coffee instead of gossiping.
Definitely need to stop here!
I liked this cute little corner
