Last year I purchased new eyglasses from Philadelphia Vision Center. Two months ago, I dropped them and accidentally stepped on them. I though for sure they were beyond repair. But I brought the frames and lenses back to the store for the sole purpose of showing them what style of frame they needed to give me as a replacement. The owner took everything in the back. Ten minutes later, he came out with them completely fixed, like new. I was stunned. And he didnt charge me. The only thing he asked was that I donate to the jar on the front counter for a local charity, which I gladly did. Im so happy I chose Philadelphia Vision Center for my optical needs. Well done!
Philadelphia Vision Center is the only one place where all my glasses are done with care and consideration for my preference. Bruce always makes sure I am happy customer, he is very knowledgeable, has great trade skills, gives good advice. The staff is very nice, pleasure dealing with girls. When my glasses will be ready, I will come back to unprofessional optician in Pearls vision and show Bruce’s job that optician-punk declined/refuse to do. Someone has to teach Pearl Vision optician-punk a lesson, and I will make sure I will teach this lesson in presence of employees and other customers on day when optometrist is there: the more people - the merrier ! I hope you find my review of great use.
Recently had an eye exam; staff are very friendly and helpful. When I got my new glasses, I had an accident and got a deep scratch in one of the lenses. When I went back to see if it could be buffed out or repaired in any way (it couldnt) Bruce called the insurance company and was able to get me a replacement lens. I highly recommend this establishment!!
My 6 year old daughter recently broke her glasses and I did not know what to do since the break was pretty bad. I thought there was no saving them and I would have to buy her new glasses which I was dreading. I called Philadelphia Vision Center and they told me to bring them in to be fixed. To my amazement they were able to be fixed in a few mins. I am very happy and satisfied that this is where I chose to bring my daughter for her exam and new glasses. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!!
Bruce and the folks at Philadelphia Eye Center on Welsh Road continue to outperform themselves when it comes to examining my eyes...great Doc, Selecting my glasses...super, reasonably priced selection and great friendly service.The staff makes you feel welcome and at ease. I have been going there for at least 7 years and they always get my eyes done right.Eyeglass repair. Bruce is the magician. Saw the doctor she was very friendly and the staff as well. I thought went they saw me I was going to wait for the glasses few days,, and they gave me the glasses 45 min later wow. I’ve been coming here for about 4 years now. My entire family is serviced by this location. I recently broke a pair of glasses that seemed irreparable yet Bruce worked his magic and fixed them in less than a half. I was due for new glasses and came here. The entire staff is great. Dr Beth Brooks is an excellent doctor. She explained everything and was very thorough.I went on a Monday and got a call for my glasses on Thursday. That has to be record timing. I got no line bifocals and tranditions on ny lenses.My appointment was during the pandemic and they are so clean. They clean every seat, the door, tables, etc after every customer. Dr Beth cleans the exam room after every customer. I was so impressed and happy!
Highly professional and took safe, secure precautions with the pandemic. I have been dealing with Philadelphia Vision for 20 years and the staff is phenomenal. Helpful, professional, and always friendly. I had to reschedule due the COVID 19 and I had my appointment on 06/10/2020. I felt safe and secure with the appointment and the way Bruce and his staff handled everything. I would highly recommend this business to anyone.
I have been goin here for almost 10 years. The people are so kind and truly treat you like family . They take their time with each client and treat everyone with kindness. They fix glasses when they break, my daughter has also been going fir a few years and she loves it! We miss the dog! We always feel satisfied and happy when leaving each appointment! I went in to get temples for my glasses that broke and they were able to help me out. Though they said it would take about a week, it actually took about 2 weeks and a half. Also the customer service is alright, they aren’t very consistent. It was my first time there and i noticed the owner (I think) was very friendly with the person in front of me but was indifferent towards me. I waited for about 10 minutes until they were done talking (about their personal lives) before i was waited on.Great place overall, I would recommend and I would possibly go back.
My husband purchased his glasses at Philadelphia Vision Center and raved about it. Today I brought my husbands badly damaged glasses back to see if there was any chance of fixing them.I entered with anticipated dread and just walked out the door in total amazement! Bruce somehow figured out that the holes where the hinges were had been elongated after they suffered through being sat on.I dont know how he did it but he not only made the holes round again, but he fixed them! I am totally amazed and could not be happier than to recommend this business to everyone!Thank you so much Bruce.
My son lost his glasses. We went back and asked for them to order the same pair again. We paid $200! because we ordered the transitional lenses. When they came in my husband picked them up, they had no transition on them. He took them back and they sent them out again. When he picked them up and showed them to me I said these are the wrong frames! My husband did not realize. The frames were for an infant. My son is 8 now. We’ve gotten all his glasses there. He took them back and the woman that works there basically blew off his concern with some good manipulation and told him they fit my son. I was not happy. We tried them out and they were simply too small. He was having trouble in school with them. then found his old glasses in my coat pocket (thank God). I take him back and talked to the man with the dark hair (I’ve dealt with him before when he tried to talk me into buying glasses for myself that I didn’t want). I told him the situation. He starts diving into my sons medical history bc I mentioned his vision teacher said they are too small. He asks me “what’s a vision teacher” “what does he have” “I just find it interesting”. I was tempted to say I’m not here to discuss his medical history with you but I enjoy spreading awareness. He then says “put them on him” my son leaves them on for a little and wants them off because they are uncomfortable. Then he brings us over and sits my son down. He puts the old glasses on him (the ones I found at home at a later date) and the manipulation begins. That’s all he does for a living. He says “these fit” I said I know bc they are his OLD glasses. Then he proceeds to show me all of our older order forms. He manipulated me into agreeing with him until I realize what I said. He tried telling me the older glasses were the new ones they ordered. No, they are not. The bigger frames are the old ones. I am not going to sit there and read order forms and argue about order forms with my kids in tow. Like come on. He says well I can’t fix this without charging you. HA, of course not. I said I’m not giving you any more money no way this was your mistake. I get my son up and start to walk away. He holds his order forms up and says “so you are telling me my order forms are wrong, what they say is fraudulent” I said I’m telling you I’m leaving. Idk what your order forms say, I didn’t write them. And he proceeds to chastise me and hold it up as I am leaving. Horrible customer service. How dare they call me a liar after I spent $200 on frames. I’m reporting them to BBB.Update:The owner notified me only after seeing the reviews and offered to replace the glasses free or charge. Thank you! He stated he “dug deeper” and was able to see where the mistake happened. As a loyal customer of 6.5 years I am still disappointed at the way the situation was handled. I should not of had to go through that. My son should not of been without glasses for over a month. I should not have to sit there and debate when I am telling the business I received the wrong product. He let me leave the store and was perfectly fine with me losing $200.00. I can only hope that they do the right thing for future customers.
My first encounter here involved a back and forth between the eyeglass techs and the front desk woman arguing about how their 3rd party vendor lost Gucci glasses. The staff accused them of having thieves as they accidentally sent frames out. The eyeglass tech was actually passive aggressive to his front desk coworker referring to her as a ditz so many words. She however brushed it off and kept trying to figure out the issue. It took weeks for glasses to come in because of a lens issue. When I came to get them the same eyeglass tech kept telling me “your the customer and whatever you want” but when I said I don’t prefer for the back of the glasses to be so snug he ended it with “I did it to mold to your mastoid so they don’t fall down” and I said it’s just personal preference. He said “ok why don’t you try it and if you still don’t like it come back and we will adjust it” - why would I want to never come back here if you didn’t hear me the first time? It was also very difficult to get a breakdown of what insurance will pay for and what they wouldn’t for the glasses. Prices changed with their mental math and different people had to come in and help bc they were still dealing with the thievery company on the phone. The female doc was the one pleasant experience. However when the contact lens dropped in the sink she picked it out and told me to put it in my eye anyway. Look I get it when I’m home and I drop me new lens down my sink I will pick it up but this is your sink. I don’t know what do put down there...just bizarre and no I’m never coming back.
I’ve taken my daughter to this place a few times over the past few years just for routine exams and perscription glasses. The doctor is nice, and the male staff are very personable and helpful. But the woman at the front desk in my opinion, is totally unprofessional, unorganized and at times very rude and indignant. we came in a few years ago for the first time after being referred from her doctor, and she’s been this way every time we come in. And I don’t think she’s ever once greeted us when we arrive. Still, the doctor is pretty cool and my daughter liked her so dealing with the woman at the front desk for 10 minutes each year isn’t a big deal. Today however, I’ve just had enough with her to the point that I’m going to have to take my daughter elsewhere. It’s way too much to put in a google review, but she has a very clear bias, not sure if it’s just toward people with certain insurances, or of a certain demographic or what.. but I just don’t like the bad vibes and condescending tone I always receive from her.This place is a great place to grab some lenses and glasses for a good price and that’s why I have it 4 starsThis place is not to build a long time doctor/patient relationship and that’s what I want for my family, if you’re the same.. don’t go here!
A wonderful full service facility! My family and I have been going to Bruce for approx. 4 years. Always friendly and knowledgeable. Plus my children always look forward to seeing Ted!
This place rocks! I have been buying contact lenses from this location for a few years now. Recently, I broke my glasses and was frantically searching for a place that I could get a new pair at ASAP. Bruce and his staff sat down with me the minute I walked in the door and helped me find the exact pair of glasses I was looking for... I had my glasses the very next day. Awesome turnaround time! AND they fixed my old glasses free of charge.I highly recommend this place for contact lenses and glasses. They are friendly, courteous, affordable, and accommodating. And its independently owned, so I know my money is being well spent and not going to some huge chain store.
Recently my glasses broke and after being told they couldnt be repaired by an expert (my boyfriend) I came back here where I originally got them and the man repaired them in less than 30min. They arent crooked either. Very good job and super nice people.

As an optician with over 15 years experience I can tell you that this is the only place I will go for my glasses since I left the business. The owner, Bruce, is a master at his craft and you will get the best product for the money here trust me.
Awesome experience at the PVC. Honestly, I am a person that keeps a pair of glasses until they break because I hate change. But I have to say Bruce ( my sales person, and possible owner ??) made my eyewear change seamless and painless. Love my new glasses. Thanks guys and girls over at the PHV
Horrible!!! Found them on my insurance companies website. The guy said he didnt care what my insurance paid he was gonna charge me more cause they have to make a buck too when I called my insurance company and had them explain to the store owner on speaker phone that they pay $150 towards contacts and I get 20% discount on anything over that he said ok just add $22.50 to her bill to make up the 20% because we got to make money too he said this in front of several witnesses. The lady from my insurance company said it was against the law. He said we have to make money. In the end I left so they lost 3 customers. The worst service I have ever had. He also badgered me because I am a government worker and made a snide comment about having a government job. I made a report to my insurance too. Hopefully they stop using this company. They are CROOKS!! After all this the Doctor the lady at the desk and Bruce never said sorry even though the lady from the insurance explained he was wrong to him. He said on the line with the insurance rep (a recorded line) yeah I have a bad attitude. Worst service ever!! I would never recommend them!!!
