Graham and the team at Shadow Mountain are awesome! If you need a good mechanic in the Valley, this is the place to go. They are honest and care about you and your car. I took my car in and Graham was super friendly and called me throughout the process explaining everything that needed to be done and how much it was going to cost. He went above and beyond to make me feel informed. In a world where I hate doing car stuff as a single woman, this place made me feel taken care of and gave me the confidence that I was in good hands. I cannot say enough about this place!

I love Shadow Mountain Auto. Ive been using them for years. They are so trustworthy, informative, and always answer the 100 questions I ask with a gracious attitude. Its so difficult to find an auto shop with this level of integrity and genuine care for their customers. Im extra grateful because as a single woman, this has not always been my experience elsewhere. Few years ago after we move to the valley and not knowing any shop in Phoenix, I took my 05 Solara to Shadow Mountain after seeing their high rating on Yelp. Quoted about $350 parts & labor. Car was ready as promised before the end of day and to my surprise the bill was around $80 less. When I asked about the much lower invoice was told that it took them less than anticipated to reach and replace the part. First time ever that this happened to me! I always think whats the catch?. In this case that was nothing more than the shop owner dealing honestly with their customer. He could have kept the quote amount and i would have never known. I agreed to the quoted amount.I drove away taken back by the fact that there are still are good people out there. Car was now running smooth, all lights were cleared off the dashboard and stayed like this until today. Car still in the family.How do you repay honesty? You recommend them and give them more business. Anyhow, thank you. It meant a lot.

My parents have been going to Shadow Mountain for years and I tried them out and I am more than satisfied and they’re my place for repairs. They’re professional, courteous, honest and up front, they let you know what you might need in upcoming repairs and do very good work, they go out of their way to help customers especially with the pickup and drop off and that helped my parents out so much at their age. I had a fairly big repair done, and it required going into my engine (I do not fully understand), and they did an excellent job. There was a minor problem once it had been fixed, and they went ABOVE and BEYOND to fix the problem. That is exceptional service and the right thing to do (classy). I feel very good about the skill of their mechanics, and about their ethics. The communication was excellent as well.

They are the absolute best...my old truck has been destroying alternators for mysterious reasons, and they have honored the warranty on this part multiple times! If you are wondering why it needed to be replaced if they are so great, but, I assure you, it is my old trucks fault (a treasure to me, trash to everyone else lol) I am just blown away by the level of service and care they provide. They go above and beyond, checking on the part to make sure the truck hadnt started to digest it after a few months, and I mentioned that we were going out of town, and they gave it a very thorough check to ensure we were going to be safe on the road. Every time I think this truck is going to die on the operating table, they revive it, and that means the world to me

My wife & I moved to the area a year & a half ago and were happy to find that we had a mechanic so close by. My intitial gut-reaction was good, honest shop but not a place for bargain hunters and I still feel that way. Nothing wrong with not being the least expensive option as long as you justify your pricing with dependable, honest work, fair but not cheap pricing and excellent customer service. This is what I feel Ive gotten every time Ive taken my wifes Audi or my Subaru in for service. Without going into too much detail, I just had an experience where they could have charged me for a major repair (those of you w/ Subarus that burn more oil than a deep fryer at McDonalds will know what Im talking about). Mike, who is excellent, thoroughly explained the what, why & how of the situation and gave me options rather than just asking me for my ATM code. Many years ago my Dad taught me some things in life are worth paying a little extra for, otherwise, you might regret trying to pinch a penny (his Dad examples still make me laugh...shoes & toilet paper :-). I think in many cases, auto repair falls into this category, otherwise, youll be back in again for the same problem or worse. Highly recommend.

Shadow Mountain Auto is the place to go! The guys are very honest and transparent. They always let you know whats wrong with your vehicle and lay out all the options without pressuring the customer. Graham and Mike provide very professional customer service. Its rare these days to find an auto repair shop who you can trust, but Shadow Mountain is that place!

I really wanted to like this place due to the high reviews and that its a locally owned small business like my dads repair shop he has back in Alabama but they say to check it out is free and will call me if the repair if over $100. Well I told them I had some pink liquid leaking and not sure where it was coming from and thought it may be the transmission. I was told they ran a pressure check to find the leak and it was the water pump that needs to be replaced and always recommend changing the thermostat and flushing the radiator while replacing the water pump and also it needed a replaced radiator cap since when they took my off it broke which would all cost me $1140.26. That seemed pretty high to replace the water pump and thermostat so I told them I would come pick up the car and get back to them since this was so costly. While doing that I called the dealership which said they would replace the water pump and thermostat for $860 so considering the dealer was way cheaper is a red flag of their prices are really high, I understand they are small business and may have to charge a little more but charging $175 hour for labor is way above market value and then on the breakdown saying the water pump itself is $261.54? I searched online for a water pump for my 2015 Ford Mustang V6 and couldnt even find a water pump for my car that was over $135 (which is OE parts) so that is almost a 250% markup. Same for the thermostat $73.17, radiator gasket $30.79 and Radiator cap $17.79 and then for coolant there are 2 prices, 1 for Extended life coolant Ultra $61.76 which says for 2 and $34.07 Super cool additive. $95 for coolant is outrageous and then to mention there is $49 for shop supplies. What supplies are you using that will be leaving your shop with me to warrant that charge? Can get all these OE parts for around $250 that they wanted to charge $551.92 and then $527.45 for labor for saying 3 hours. All of that being said, it is what it is and they can charge what they want even though the prices are all way above market for labor and parts are double if not triple priced but to tell me to check my car is free and when I get the call and tell them I am on my way to pick it up and now it will be $99.61 because only a visual check is free? What?? And then since the cap broke (assuming they didnt break it) while taking it off they had to run and get one to put back on it which they charged me $24.90 and then $6.71 for supplies (WHAT SUPPLIES) to screw on a cap which in your estimate to replace if had the full repair done with you was $17.79 which is already more than any Auto Zone, OReillys or any other parts store which sells them for no more than $10 which is where I assumed they had to run to and get one plus what apparently is not free to check my car and charged me $64.63 for a cooling system diagnosis which I was never told about was a charge until calling to find out what the issue was and that I was coming to pick up the car which will cost me $99.61. It seems as if they made sure to stay under that $100 which I said was fine if the cost was under that to REPAIR the car, not do whatever test you want so you can charge me for what is supposed to be free to find out what is wrong with it. Very unhappy with this place and sad they sneak in charges and over price parts. They have a great warranty and back their repair for 5 years, 50,000 miles but that is not worth the dishonest I feel from them by making sure they came up with some way to get $100 for doing nothing but screwing on an over priced radiator cap that their tech may have broke or maybe not. There is no way to know for sure. Not saying they are a bad shop but just be careful and ask lots of questions and get very clear answers before letting them touch your car as a free check is not free and will cost your $100.

Fantastic, quick, honest service. Highly recommend taking your car there for services. We have been using them for about two years now and they are great!July 2020 dropped the car off at 8am because the AC was not blowing cold- by 10am the bad valve was fixed and the car was ready to be picked up. ♥️♥️♥️

My car had an odd situation going on and these guys spent days trying to figure out the cause. Once they did they fixed it and did a great job. They even contacted me the week after I got my car back to see if any issues and made sure I knew they backed their work. Above and beyond performance. Ill be going back for sure.

Mike and the whole team are terrific. Its a family run, mom and pop business thats not there to make a quick buck or sell you what you dont need. They genuinely care about you and your vehicle. I called and scheduled and they got to work on my Volvo the moment I brought it in. They were quick, thorough, did a full inspection, fixed what needed fixing, and sent me on my way. I cant recommend them enough!

Shadow Mountain Auto Service, and Graham have been very helpful and trustworthy. I have visited multiple times and had a fantastic customer service experience every time. My vehicle has been done at or before the time they have given me. The waiting area is cozy and welcoming. They may charge a little more than other shops in the vicinity (I believe due to only using manufacturer recommended parts), but the peace of mind of knowing they will do a fantastic job without selling you parts and services you dont need has made me a very loyal client.

I went to this place based on the reviews and the fact that they responded to negative feedback with honesty! Auto service and honesty combined is unfortunately rare. Ive just started bringing our cars here, but I wont go anywhere else again. Theyre honest and do good work. Im glad I found this place. Thank you !

You sure were snarky and I didnt plan on doing the work myself, nor was there any beer involved. I was trying to find a shop for my friend near her home that she could trust, rather than take it to the dealer!! You didnt even touch on the fact that your shop refused to give any type of breakdown for parts and labor or even a quote for reference, regardless if we would have objected to the price. Initially, she only refused because she didnt have $800 for the repair. It wasnt until I was discussing with my mechanic in Mesa that I started to question the cost!! You only got 1 star for lack of transparency!! Oh, and $600 for parts would be 100% margin.Found this shop on Bumper to Bumper radio show and had good reviews. I went with my girlfriend to have brakes checked on 2007 Yaris, because repair shops generally have bad reputation when dealing with women. I had already checked front brakes as that was easy for me, but was concerned about rear brakes. It was confirmed the front brakes were good. They came back with estimate of over $800 for rear brake shoes, drums, and spring kit. This seemed high to me and I asked a couple of automotive friends, I called back to clarify that I wasnt missing something in this quote and specifically inquired again as to what parts were being replaced. I inquired over the phone for breakdown of parts and labor and he stated he couldnt do that. We declined the repair because of the expense. When my girlfriend went to get the car she asked for a copy of the repair estimate and was told they were unable to do that. He used scare tactics stating it wasnt very safe to drive. I called Toyota dealership and the parts were around $350 - for genuine Toyota parts. Even if they used Toyota parts that would leave 4-5 hours of labor for the rear brakes. In the end I did the repair myself with the help of a mechanic friend and we did it in less than 90 minutes. Ive never had a shop refuse to give me a printed estimate. I would not recommend.

I received very favorable service here. I own an older vehicle (1990 Crown Vic,) and previous locations could not properly diagnose the problem but I had only to leave the car there over night, and received a call 18 or so hours later, stating that problem was discovered and repaired. This was about 2 months ago and car runs better than it did when I purchased it over 2 years ago, eventhough it ran perfectly for these 2 years, it just operates even better than when i thought it ran fine, plus I am getting another 3-4 miles to gallon. overall, friendly staff and swift service. Thank You.

They service my 2013 Ford F-150 and my wifes Saturn Vue and have always provided excellent service. There was one occasion when my wife took her car in thinking something was seriously wrong with the car and it turned out to be very minor and they didnt even charge for the service. Rates have always seemed reasonable. Their honesty in service is refreshing.

Best, most friendly, most informative auto repair facility I have ever been to. This place isnt the cheapest. But you get what you pay for. If you want a bargain product, auto repair isnt where you want to make that decision. This place offers incredible service for what they charge and its well worth it.Hands down the best place in the valley. Its a no brainier to get service done here.

Shadow Mountain Auto Service has been one of the BEST shops Ive ever used for my vehicles. They are the most honest people in the auto service industry Ive ever come across.In an era where it seems that most shops are just out to line their pockets, Shadow advises on work the must be done for safety purposes first, then advises on what needs to be done but could wait until later.I recently had one of my cars at the shop when they discovered some oddities. they advised me that some bolts were loose. I informed them that the car had been serviced on am emergency basis elsewhere. After they researched that work based on the receipt from the other shop, it turns out that work was paid for but never done and the work that was done appeared to have been done by less than qualified persons.In the end they are going to help me with a claim to the BBB against the other establishment and if necessary Small Claims court.I am not aware of too many other shops that would go to those lengths to make their customers feel safe and welcome.Great job Shadow Mountain Auto Service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had a great experience working with Shadow Mountain Auto Service. They were able to accommodate my crazy schedule by allowing me to drop the car before office hours and leave my keys in a secure drop box.Upon opening the store, Graham gave me a call to ensure he had my car and to go over again what it was they were going to look into.My car had the check engine light on as well as had intermittent sputtering at low idle. I had assumed spark plugs were needed as it was likely due for them, but wanted to address anything else that may be wrong. I received updates throughout the diagnosis period via text app as well as calls from Graham prior to proceeding with any work.It was as expected, the plugs needed to be changed. Car is running great which I guess is an expectation of what I would want from any auto shop, however, the customer service I received with Shadow Mountain Auto Service will always keep me there.Quality is an expectation and many companies believe that and embrace it, but it seems fewer and fewer companies embrace the customer service culture throughout their entire organization - and thats what makes all the difference for me.Thanks to Graham and the team that helped me out!

We own a 2014 Tahoe and previously had all our cars serviced at a shop near my work in downtown Phoenix. When retiring i asked that shop for a reccomendation for something closer to home and trustworthy since we were no longer able to do the Day-to-day maintenance ourselves. They reccomended Shadow Mountain. Took the car there and was really pleased. The price was reasonable and no attempt to add repairs. While waiting i listened to some discussions they had with customers and was happy to hear what sounded like real customer oriented care. We will be back.

Very kind, very professional, very good response time. I will say, the price they charged me to repair my Hondas AC was $4 less than the dealership quoted me, but they were much better to deal with than Honda. My case may have been the exception, but I was hoping I would get a price at least 10% less than going through the dealership. Still, they absolutely earn 5 stars.

I bought a voucher for free oil changes to this shop years ago when it first opened. Curt explained to me that oil changes made no money and the vouchers were to get business. After my voucher expired Curt still occasionally helped me out on oil changes. I routinely brought my car to him for the repairs (which it needed a lot) I did not want to tackle myself. He and his guys have always been great about differentiating between critical repairs and arbitrary ones. I trust these guys and though I no longer need regular services when someone needs a mechanic they are the first to mind. Im from a small town where you know your mechanic personally. I was leery of mechanics in the city but Curt and his crew make it feel like your local small town mechanic.Great place always top on my list

I plan on making this my go-to mechanics shop. I took my car in for an oil change with the intent of having them look at a couple other little things too. They did a good job on the oil change and gave me their honest opinion about what I needed and a rough quote for the work exactly as I asked. Most places would try to pressure you into making an appointment right away to get the work done but there was none of that here. They let me know they would be happy to do it of course but that I could do it myself as well as I had told them I has a little experience with my own car repairs. I really appreciated the help and forthright way they dealt with me. I will be back when I need a mechanic for sure!

I read a number of positive reviews online and when I took my jeep in for service all the positive comments turned out to be true. They did a thorough evaluation of my 2008 vehicle, which I very rarely have serviced because of poor experiences with mechanics in the past. They provided a robust list of the defects. They pointed out which problems were a saftey concern and which were more cosmetic. They did not pressure me whatsoever on what I needed to fix. I will always use these guys going forward and would recommend them to everyone.

My experience at Shadow Mountain was like no other. I was provided with information and options with my vehicle that were in my best interest. Kurt and his team are very caring and will do whatever it takes to get you back on the road. I will be a life long customer and will always refer my friends and family.

I took my car to this place because it didnt start and in 20min of diagnose they said that I had a busted head gasket which to fix it will cost around $1500 to $2000; I called 5 different mechanics describing the problem that my car had and they told me that when the head gasket breaks the car will overheat and shakes when the A/C is on (my car never got overheated and it didnt shake) so I took it to a different mechanic -VI Auto repair on 7th ave & Bethany Home- there they did a chemical test to see if the head gasket was broken (the test took around 35min) and guess what? my head gasket was fine the problem it was a fuel injector and bad spark plugs which to fix was only $350 with parts so I am not happy with this mechanic trying to repair something that was not broken and wanting to charge me a lot money for nothing.

Great Job!!! as usual, I leave impressed! My car had a nasty power steering pressure hose leak and it was a mess with power steering fluid all over. Never had to even ask, engine was cleaned of the fluid mess which I am sure any mechanic would have cleaned some to do the repair. But at SMAS they cleaned it thoroughly and the mess was all gone. AWESOME!!!

Curt and Cindy are friendly and helpful people to work with. They have taken care of us and our vehicles for years. I wouldnt go anywhere else for maintenance and repairs.

New to the area, I went to check them out based on great reviews on Yelp. Needed an engine diagnostic done (cost$150) and getting rid of the Christmas lights of the dashboard. They called me three times to accept each farther process into locating and replacing the problem sensor. Their original estimated cost was around $450. I needed the car so I accept it. Car was ready as promised before 5PM, but I was wonderfully surprised when getting to pay for the work: the bill came to $100 less than originally estimated and approved for. Honest guys, they sure have my future business. Wow. Usually it ends up costing more not less. All I can say is that I found new friends in Phoenix.

Shadow mountain was very helpful and professional when I came in. I brought in a car I was interested in buying and asked for a pre-purchase check to make sure everything was in working order. Shadow Mountain had a muscle car expert on hand who inspected the car and advised me as to what to do with it. Shadow Mountain even went above and beyond to make sure I was protected from the owners allegations, as he became angry that they advised me against driving the car back since it was unsafe. Shadow Mountains employees have genuine concern for their clients with fair pricing and practices, and even offering a shuttle service if your car has to stay at the shop. This auto shop will take care of you, whatever your needs are, and at a fair price. I will be taking my business to them from now on.

I am only putting one star because Graham was nice. I just took my wifes car to this place to get the ac looked at. They quoted me $900 to fix the rear mixer doors. I paid their $150 diagnostic charge and went and got a second opinion. Needless to say my ac mixer doors work fine (have video proof btw) and the car was low on freon(even though shadow mountain said all pressures were normal). $206 later at another shop and everything works great.8/1/17UPDATEAfter the reponse to my review I called the shop. Long story short they refunded my money and apologised for what happened. I appreciate them being professional and making things right.

The guys at Shadow Mountain Auto are incredible!Rip and Curt are both extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. I have always turned my own wrenches on every car I have owned. I had a Honda passport a few months ago that suddenly would not do anything when put into any gear. I managed to get it to the shop and I knew it was going to be bad. It turned out I just needed transmission fluid and they were really cool about it. Rip also told me that it was like winning the lottery that I didnt blow my transmission and that it would likely not last. His recommendation - sell the car or get rid of it asap! It was a junker and I planned to run it until the wheels fell off. Well, they basically fell off a few months later when it stopped shifting into 5th and started having engine troubles. This time they gave me the harsh reality of the cost to repair.I ended up buying a new xterra and they performed the pre-buy inspection. Now three months later I brought it in for its first oil change and they had incredible service again. I am taking my girlfriends car in tomorrow for service also and converting her.I used to do all my own oil changes and easy work such as radiators, water pumps, timing belts...etc.. Now I trust the guys at Shadow Mountain Auto.
