My car received a synthetic oil change and I am pleased with how my car runs. However I was disappointed with my experience because I was lied to about the mechanic topping my windshield wiper fluid off. I did not receive the complete advertised package as my windshield wiper fluid was not topped off. I did bring this to the managers attention and expressed my disappointment. The manager encouraged me to return to ensure I receive the missing fluids. While I do intend to return, I find this experience to be unfortunate for the inconvenience this caused. I simply find it a bit difficult to trust on bringing my business in the future.

Our 2000 Chevy Astro was not starting up, but only on mornings after a night of rain. The mechanically astute mechanic at Wilhelm immediately identified the problem was the distributor being rusted or corroded. Fixing that, along with a long past-due tune-up did the trick. The turnaround was fast and we were back on the road. I appreciated their professionalism and communication (explaining their work). This was our first car repair by Wilhelm. If we need any other car repair service, we will go to Wilhelm.

I had been told about them before stopping in and how great the service was and finally needed to have my old car looked at. They knew exactly what was wrong and even greater they quoted me 2/3rds less than most other places I had checked out. Everyone is professional, friendly, and hardworking. After finding a great coupon for an oil change online, we scheduled the first available drop off appt. which was 3 days out, which was fine. When we arrived to drop off the vehicle the gentleman that assisted us seemed annoyed that we knew about the coupon and was short with us once determining we weren’t interested in other services. When asked for a general idea about completion of the oil change, he rudely responded before closing at 5. When my husband returned to pick up the vehicle he was told that we needed tires, which we had already had checked, and since they were worn they didn’t rotate them or put air in them, which were supposed to be included with the oil change. After driving away my husband also noticed that the oil change light was not turned off after it was changed. Again the coupon was great but if you don’t add on the other recommended services from them the quality of the service is poor.

Great long-time family owned business. My service advisors, Jessica and Jeff were great. From the first call for a quote to picking up the car with new brakes installed was under 24 hours! Even provided a ride home so I didnt have to wait. Although they completed the job so fast, I could have waited! Definitely recommend and will use again.

I tried to schedule an oil change they didnt have anything available for 5 days. Repeatedly called me the wrong name even after I corrected them. The only reason I am leaving 2 starts is the they replaced the oil drain plug on their own accord. They tried to tell me I needed new tires and there was only 1/16 tread left on them. I had been to discount tire the previous week and called back and they told me it was 7/8 tread left and verified that myself after I left. I walked out of their with a 165 dollar bill for an oil change and a cabin air filter definitely wont be going back despite how close it is.

Friendly people and the service was good. i did have an appointment and the oil change took an hour and half. with a 10 dollar coupon the oil change came out to $73.00. i thought that was a little pricey. i probably won’t return because of the wait and price but i do think it is a reputable place that does good work.

I recently started doing business with Wilhelm Auto Service at their Arcadia store. I had given Wilhelm Peoria my auto service for many many years before retiring this past year. I want to say I am extremely happy to find the same level of customer service, the same high skill level of qualified technicians, and the same culture of honesty and friendliness at the Arcadia store as I had experienced for years at the Peoria store. I appreciate the clear description of the issues they find that should be considered for repair, and just as important, their honesty of the things that don’t need to be fixed. I once took my vehicle to a Toyota dealer shop for factory recall work. In addition to the free recall repairs, they told me I needed to replace, well basically the whole front end. I asked Wilhelm to look at it and they repaired only what was needed and it was a simple repair. I know I can trust Wilhelm to give me an accurate assessment of a problem, and I have never been pressured to make a repair. The crew at the Arcadia store have been great to know and do business with, it’s really nice knowing I have someone I can trust covering my back in regards to my auto service. Needed a new fuel return line because gas was puddling under my car due to corrosion. Part was on back order but I needed my car that afternoon. The mechanic did a temporary repair which completely fixed the leak. Its been a few days and I havent seen any leakage whatsoever. A little pricey but worth it considering I needed the repair pretty immediately.

I drive a mid-2000s jeep so I need to get a lot of work done whenever it breaks (too often). Wilhelm is the only establishment I trust to do quality work on time and for a reasonable price. The staff is professional and knowledgeable so I always feel well taken care of when I go to see them. Lastly, and most importantly, I trust Wilhelm to do what they say theyre going to do. Theyve never tried to up-sell me or short me on work they said theyll do. No mechanic is perfect but Wilhelm Arcadia is about as good as they get.

Very courteous from the outset. Work completed much sooner than I anticipated. They found one minor thing that needed to be addressed. That was taken care of quickly. Kept me informed by phone. Car runs great. Very satisfied with the entire experience.

Absolutely amazing service. Tow truck brought my car in at about 930 due to overheating, and car was done by 230. Great price too.

They _cannot_ manage to do the services requested or keep good notes on what was requested. Wouldnt recommend going here unless you enjoy several round-trips. They also attempted to charge me for a tow that Id paid for myself.

UPDATE: Owner responded to review please read response. What will always remain true is I was charged for some type of diagnostic test which didnt find the leak, and even if I was apprised of the vehicle taking longer in the shop, Wilhelm should have called and told me they needed to keep it over night....which they did not.I had an air conditioning leak which I made Wilhem aware of, I had recently had an evacuation and recharge of the freon so I let Wilhem know this to provide information which would potentially save time and money. Wilhelm said the diagnosis would be $35. Wilhelm called me and said it would be an additional $130+- to run dye through the system to find the leak. I asked that no more work to be done on the truck and I would pick it up. To make a long story short; with an appointment it took over 24 hours to diagnose an already known issue (freon leak), and $35. Im considered to be a very fair reviewer on Google, I give the consumer the straight shot. I wanted to use a local company and save time. At the end of the day I missed a day of work, paid $35 for nothing, and was able to find the leak myself by purchasing a can of freon with dye in it at the local automotive supply house. I gave them a bonus star because the change in my ashtray was still there when I picked the truck up. Im guessing they just were not on their game because they had quite a few cars lined up. If you choose to use them Im suggesting you ask a lot of questions regarding the process they use including steps and costs.

Needless to say nobody is Happy paying a big service bill but we all need our vehicles. The service I got there is good the one person that stood out the most was Jeff because when I went to pick my car up I was in a very depressed mood because of my fee but dealing with him he picked me up a little bit when his attitude. He should always be at the front desk greeting people maybe not giving us the bad news about how much are car is going to cost cuz nobody should be mad at him. Youre a great guy Jeff Pleasant attitude stay that way

They didn’t try to tell me I needed more things repaired or replaced than what I required, and they were proficient! I am so pleased I found them. These guys are the best. Very professional and very honest. We are on a road trip and they could have fleeced us but they treated us like we lived around the corner. They got me in on a days notice and the service was done very quickly and thoroughly. My only criticism would be that the vehicle was left unlocked and window down when it was comleted until i arrived to pick it up. I have had this issue with other shops as well, but it would be nice if the vehicle is secured.

I had to take my grandson’s car in for an estimate yesterday and everything that was done was extremely professional, employees were very friendly and courteous and the shop was clean. Workers put gloves on before driving the vehicle and everyone wore a mask. Unfortunately, my daughter was the one who decided where she was having the work done, but I will take my own car back to Wilhelm’s in a heartbeat! Definitely a 5 star experience.

We were buying a car and had Wilhelm Automotive check the car out for a Prepurchase Inspection since our regular mechanic was too far away for the seller. The general inspection was fine, until we went to buy the car and check it out for ourselves. We realized that the car was a completely different make than the seller had told us! We had told Wilhelm what car we were expecting them to look at and they could have taken one look at the car and known it was a different vehicle altogether! But they didn’t mention anything about it to us and we had to go through a few hours more work and a two hour drive to find it out ourselves. The seller was disappointing, but we’d expect that the company we are paying to check out a car for us could say “hey, this is actually a different car altogether.” Maybe they just wanted to take advantage of our money. Either way, it was completely unacceptable. Would never go there again.

These guys are great. They get it done right every time. Super professional, fast, and honest.

Was offered a free radiator pressure check. When I arrive there was told $67 but on sale for $40. Told the gal it should be free. She agreed. They pull it into the bay. Then come and tell me it’s the water pump and want to do a pressure check for $67. They had only done a visual. What happened to free and why haven’t you done it? Then they quote the price for replacing water pump. So I advised that another mechanic said thermal fan clutch is part of water pump. Guy says he wasn’t sure. How do you not know? Doesn’t it tell you when you pull the parts and labor info up?! I took my car and left.

The two times I have come here they have been excellent. Great service, excellent communication and friendly service. Great local company I will definitely recommend and continue to do my car work with!

Wilhelm is always very helpful. They always let me know ahead of time what’s going on and what it’ll cost and if it needs it. This last time they had to add a couple minor things after we went over the estimate so to help make up for it they found me a coupon to help out which was much appreciated. I’ve been taking my car here for years and always have a great experience. I feel confident that they are honest with me about what my car needs and the prices are fair. I brought my car in once because my turn signal and brake light on one side were not working, and they didn’t charge me anything to fix it because the fix was so simple (it hadn’t been hooked up correctly by the repair shop my insurance made me go to after being rear ended - that was a different shop, not Wilhelm :) I have recommended them to several friends and family members because I think they do a great job.

Amazing service! Took care of my oil change a few months ago, everything was great but I noticed today some issues with my oil as it was getting all over my hood of car. Called around 4:15 & they got me in before they closed to make sure I still had enough oil in my car & cleaned all the oil from inside. Extremely grateful for their fast service & for taking such good care of my car!

I called in dire need of a tire repair as I had a screw in front tire. Last minute call & they got me in within 10 minutes. I was out the door with my tire repaired & paid nothing. THATS WILHELM AUTOMOTIVE. They are amazing in all service needs.

I thought I needed my brakes replaced and after an inspection, turned out I didnt! They didnt try to gouge me or anything like that, and didnt charge me for the initial inspection either. They even mailed me a little discount for my next visit. Super nice people too. I feel like I can trust their help.

I have always heard good things about Wilhelm and figured I would try them out when I purchased my Land Rover. I had heard you have to be careful when having foreign vehicles serviced and be sure the right parts are used. They always ensure I have the proper parts on my car even if someone has to drive to the dealer to get one for me! They are super affordable in their prices and always have a quick turn around.

Welcome automotive is not the cheapest mechanic in town they are however honest mechanics who do excellent work are reliable and wont rip you off with unnecessary repairs. But I would rather pay a little extra I know Im not being ripped off and I can trust them to get the job done right the first time.

I took a car in to have it looked at that we were considering purchasing. They were very thorough and gave us all the facts about the car so we could make an informed decision. Because of this we passed on the purchase of the car due to potential issues they saw. So glad we took it there before buying a car that would have needed up to $4k of work done in the near future.

They are supposed to rotate and check tire pressure when you get a oil change. They did not do that, even went so far as to put on the receipt that they did.
