Many years ago, are used to go to this location exactly. They had amazing stuff, as well as many sections of the store. If you’re a comic book geek, or interested in old vinyl records, or other amazing items, Bookmans is such an amazing place. It’s been about five or six years since I’ve visited this location, and I just visited today. I came out with tons of stuff. This place never disappoints. It’s fun for all ages.

This review is coming from a sellers perspective rather than a shoppers, so please bare that in mind. I have sold to both Bookmans stores in the Valley MANY times. I honestly frequent the Mesa location much more often, just because it is much closer to my home. But...the Phoenix location is almost always quicker in sorting through my goods, as well as almost always willing to pay more for what they pick from my bins. The staff is also very friendly. And....theres a seriously hot cashier, petite, brunette, edgy rocker style, stunning.....I think Im in love!

Great bookstore with so many alternatives rather than just books! Very impressed by the selecting and the method of marking each section! Nicely arranged and wonderful decor throughout! We wouldve bought more if we werent traveling! The additional toy selections, musical instruments, CDs and DVDs and albums were all plentiful and clean! Beautiful well stocked focal point displays! Love these local businesses that have grown to a nice manageable size over the years! The employees were over the top friendly and helpful! The aisles were wide for shoppers to pass each other when needed! Clean bathrooms and covid spaced checkout with dividers! Impressive!

This place is totally awesome. You can find ANYTHING in this place the atmosphere is inviting and the staff are A-1 AWESOME .If you havent experienced Bookmans your missing out on treasurers. Go and check it out.

Great place, just overwhelming if you have never been there. Wish the signs for the genres were bigger so its easier to read and locate sections. Unfortunately books arent cheaper than Amazon. But still a great experience looking through all the books.

I love this place so much. I always go for the books but today I got an instrument. The products are so wonderful and the service was amazing! I also recently did my first exchange there. The employees made it so easy and suggested I choose store credit because it has more value overall. I love it here!

Bookmans is a borderline religious experience! EVERY time I go there, be it by myself or with family/friends, theres always something magical that catches my eye and therefore I get it. Usually a book Ive been on the lookout for, sometimes a game or movie, or today when it was Lord of the Rings Risk!! I couldnt be happier with their selection, wonderful and always friendly staff, and spectacular selection that is always on offer. Keep up the great work, O Amazing Bookstore of my Dreams!!

I absolutely love this place. Customer service is always great, and there is always so many cool collectibles and nick knacks to check out. I personally enjoy getting my tarot cards from here. I also like that on their website, if youre going to donate books and items, they have a list of items such as certain books and cds, other collectibles that they will pay the most money for if its in good condition. Definitely one of my favorite stores.

Terrific place to browse. Great selection of books and some movies and music too. I traded in a bunch of books and got a nice certificate for merchandise.

I enjoy coming here and browsing all the time.Theyve got a little bit of everything, books, movies, board games, card games, video games (games, consoles, and accessories). They also have a decent comic book selection.They even have a great selection of trinkets and knick knacks including jewelry.I think the book variety is the best among other entertainment stores in the Phoenix area.My only issue is that the movies and video games are usually picked over. I havent seen much change in the games or movies over my last few visits.

Ive shopped at Bookmans periodically over the years. The habit got started when filling school reading lists. While I no longer have to do that, I still enjoy stopping there looking for an old title, or a decent gift. The gaming selection has expanded every time I go. I guess that reflects our times. I still enjoy the feel of a book in my hands so electronic reading is not for me.They no longer pay decently for trade-in books, but I dont go here for that.I like a quiet place to browse, with chairs place randomly for reading. The restrooms are clean and there is adequate shared parking.

Staff is super nice. Great place for the family. If youre coming to sell books with the intention of making money, lower your expectations by a lot. However, if you take the store credit, you can make it worth it for you.

Lots of books. Lots of dvd,bluray,vhs! Movies &tv, musical instruments. Some decor items. Games. Lots of lots of...I didnt have an appointment, but they still appraised the (one box, only bring one a day,please) books I brought in. And they only took about 10 minutes for that. They gave me fair warning that they are basically overstocked, so they might not need/want what I brought. They did make an offer for some of the books I brought in, store credit was 3 x the cash offer, I felt both offers were fair. The clerk strongly suggested to check their website for items they are usually looking for and to make an appointment through it.When I am looking to buy, I will definitely put them on my agenda. They have their stock well organized, the store is clean, and the staff was helpful.

Bookmans is awesome, there is not another place like it!. Except for the other Bookmans locations of course. When you want to shop for a good book, get yourself a movie (old or new) pick up some music or get a video game, this is the place. Plus, there so much more. You can just go look at all the really cool things they have there, its kind of like a museum and you can bring your dog inside with you. The entire staff are super friendly and a!ways ready to help. GREAT PLACE!!

Coolest Bookstore ever besides Portlands Powells City of Books. Have books, jigsaw puzzles, some collectibles and more. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Much fun to wander around in (also a great place to beat summer 115° heat).

This place is a family favorite to go and explore, trade, and buy great books, comics, and video games. Laid back atmosphere is welcoming. FYI, make sure you make an appointment if you have more than one box of stuff you’re looking to trade. Didn’t know when I showed up with more than a few boxes. They were super nice and still let me trade.A must visit if you’re a book lover, musician, retro game enthusiast, or just addicted to eclectic odds and ends.

Its been over a Year since Ive graced this Shop. They lost my patronage when they enforced masks. Now WE can return because of a magic Jibby Jab...they havent started asking for our papers yet Folks...but its coming. Love this Shop💜 Dont care for their Communist Alignment though

I grew up going to Bookmans as often as possible. They are the best. The magazine selection at this branch is huge. Aside from used books and magazines, theyve got used music (CDs and vinyl), games, cards, and lots of instruments. Theyre a local company that started in Tucson. Give them love!

I do like Bookman a lot, but unfortunately they dont take skateboards I found out walking and then taking the light rail there. What a hot day! Well worth it though. I always like browsing at Bookmans!

Prefect bookstore to take the kids to get affordable, gently used books. I have four kids and it is too expensive to take them to Barnes and Noble. Bookmans provides an affordable place to get them all books.

This store has so many interesting things inside to look at. Of course there are many books. Aside from that theres puzzles, games, arts and crafts supplies, ceramics, musical instruments, and other odds and ends. I could spend hours in here just browsing. My family and I have been coming here for many years and look forward to every visit.

First time visiting Bookmans. Its a fun store you could get lost in! Im interested in the trade feature. There was a fun selection of childrens books, videos, games, and toys.

Its a great place for a good books and other items. It does have some better selection compared to other bookmans. The extra items(jewelery and technology) is also really good selection.

Been coming here for years and never have a bad experience. Getting lost in the music section has always been like therapy for me if Im having a bad day, and I always leave with a CD or two. Bathrooms were a little wrecked my last visit, but beyond that this place has ways been wonderful.

Their prices are crazy high. Prices competing with other stores. Amazon can totally short them, so they could at least try to make sales. No not as less but 10% higher would they are trying. Rediculous.

Huge store with so much selection! Really good amount of card and board games too, so your research and think about what you want to buy, they probably have it.

Good shopping, bad location.Their inventory is exclusively used items without a publicly available record of what is in it. So dont bother calling to see if they have something you want. While that makes for a fun shopping experience, it also forces you to travel to 19th Avenue and Northern. This is an area that has been under heavy construction for most of the year with no end in sight.

What a great discovery! Im new to Phoenix in the middle of the Pandemic and am discovering cool places on my own here. THIS PLACE is a major find for me! The huge store is fascinating (safe - I had to wait to get in) and filled with everything from toys to mugs to used and cheap magazines (!) to VHS tapes, DVDs, books, games...even household retro arranged super cool. Someone has a good eye here. Everyone was friendly. It was a fun field trip and Ill be back.

This place is really fantastic. Their kids selection is especially wonderful with some many great books at really wonderful prices. They also have a kids club your child can sign up for that give them an additional 10% discount off their books.

Perfect place to find new or used books, but they also have a section for just about anything you need, movies, cds, records, video games, board games, Fandom merch, etc.

If your buying or selling your personal items this is a fair place. They are reasonable on a lot of cool stuff, they have just about anything you can think of. I go for video games, and collectables.

This place is unbelievable and the staff is so very helpful and kind. If youre thinking about buying books for the fall semester for college I would check out bookmans first because they have a whole section of just college books. And if you get hungry after you are here right next door is a place called Joes Philly cheesesteaks highly recommended delicious food.

Well organized used books by genres. Also musical instruments, CD, DVDs. No places to sit like before as of now, but hopefully that will return. Also kids section. Ill always stop here when in the area.

Theyve expanded their location since the last couple years since weve visited. Theyve got pretty much everything youd like, just lovingly used. Theres the music section, with instruments and such, and then theres the many tons of books, the childrens section, the game boards and card games in the far back. Then theres the many DVDS, Blu Ray, CDS, gaming consoles, and even vinyls. Great place to pass the time, or to find anything from required books to reading for fun. Theyve got good programs for young people too, just ask.

Always great stuff. Found movie I was looking for. However was not able to find the Dragonlance books I was looking for and gave up after five CDs that they didnt have in random generas. Just wish they had more back stock.
