This place is very quaint, very colorful, very beautiful, and local. Azukar is a hidden gem with delicious food and even more delicious coffee plus a large patio. Definitely one of the best coffee shops in South Phoenix with its taste and flair. Have one of their breakfast quesadillas and a specialty latte, you will not regret it.
It was our first time to experience the place but I could say that the place was very wonderful. If small floor space is full, you could ask the staff to go upstairs because its a great way to rest from people who are busy talking and there, you could enjoy the view. Apart from good coffee, you will find here a nice selection of ceramics from local artists. Ideal place
I showed up at 8 am on Wednesday 08/25/2021 and despite the posted hours (which business updated earlier this month per google) the lights were off, the door was locked and nobody was working. So who knows if its good or not I probably wont be back because a coffee shop closed at 8 am on a weekday is doomed to fail
Love this little coffee shop! Its a little out of the way, but definitely worth the trip. A unique menu that offers some nice twists on traditional coffee. Nothing on the menu disappointed! The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and quick to offer suggestions. Definitely recommend giving them a visit!
Nice mom and pop cafe. Loved the unique local flavors (mesquite ftw!). Everything was tasty.
They are really nice, the drinks are always good. It is a cute and cozy place and totally worth the visit, just dont go if you are in a hurry. You will wait a few minutes for them to get your order, especially if there are others before you. They dont rush and thats ok, you will get a quality product.
Sierra at the front not only welcomed me warmly, but over the 3 hours I worked out of Azukar she greeted everyone and made conversation, even recognizing someone calling in by their order. The cold brew with horchata changed my life. Love this place and love supporting South Phoenix small businesses.
Found this them right around the way from us. I got the pastrami and cucumber and my wife Bolillo sandwich with two coffees. It was delicious! The coffee was perfect and I actually drank all of it (typically I drink Starbucks and leave half of it). Definitely a place worth checking out and we are now going to be regulars.
Omggg! I finally found a cute little coffee shop! Having just moved to Phoenix I was having a hard time finding a good coffee shop where I live besides the big coffee shops we all know of. Well let me say Azucar coffee is delicious!! All organic products also! Such a cute small business that I will definitely be returning as a regular! Thank you to the sweet gals that work up front and explained the menus to us also!! Give it a try, it won’t disappoint.
Their cakes and coffee are my favorites because they perfectly meet my preferences. I didnt have any regrets about going to this coffee shop.
A welcomed sight in South Mountain. A friendly and knowledgeable staff. Coffee with a Hispanic flare. All my friends enjoyed their coffee choice, so I believe you will also. Prices are comparable to most coffee shops. The food was delicious, but there is not an extensive menu. Recent photo, Granada Ginger Fizzer.
2nd favorite coffee spot outside of Dunkin. A tad more pricey but that dirty chai with almond milk has become a weakness. Great murals and indigenous art everywhere and a Bitcoin ATM. Mad modern with extra love and grace. Definitely a go to.
Their coffee beans always taste fresh and never burnt. That means every coffee/espresso based drink you get will be delicious. Also, their limonada is one of my absolute favorites that I have found in the valley.
I normally love this spot, however yesterday was a huge disappointment. We went for brunch around 9am. Drinks took 20 mins and food took over an hour. We sat outside and the couple times I went in, I was told it would be right out etc. Finally the 3rd time it was ready in a bag just sitting on the counter.
Great service; very polite. Good variety of drinks and reasonable prices. They are also one of the few places letting people be seated inside right now. This was a lifesaver for me when a Cox outage (seems to be weekly now) prevented me from working at home. I was able to bring my laptop, order a nice drink and use their free WiFi until service was back up at my home.
Only when Denika is there I get to enjoy a full experience from the decor to the drinks. She has the perfect touch to our drinks she knows what she is doing and keeps us happy all the time. If shes not there I dont like going. She deserves to be recognized if she hasnt yet and you need more people that have the passion to make coffee just like she does. Thank so much Denika.
Lovely, quiet cafe with great coffee. Perfect for getting work done or just relaxing with a good book.
The best iced latte I’ve ever had at the cutest location served by really kind people :) felt like i was being welcomed into someone’s home
Great place to drop in for your coffee or a snack. Its local and it reflects that in the flavor profiles that they bring to the table. The barista Danicka always provides excellent customer service and delivers a great product. If you are in the south Phoenix area and would like to support a local business this place is a cant miss!
Quant little business that makes terrific coffee. Easy going environment that differs from the Starbucks around here. Our new go-to on the weekends!
The agua drinks and the hibiscus teas are to die for~ They both have chilé so its a bit spicy(?), but not enough to go running for milk or something. I definitely would like to make this shop a tradition with my friends, the vibes are immaculate.
Love this coffee shop. The bolillo rolls are incredible! I always buy the coffee beans because they are so much better than what you can get in any store. I am so happy that south mountain has a place like this!
Fresh food and coffee. Amazing small joint! Very peaceful.
The girls working in the morning of 4/11/21 were not very customer friendly. They didnt acknowledge any of the customers that walked in, no greeting no eye contact. I walked in and stood there waiting in an awkward silence and finally asked to order and they replied just a moment but there was no one else ordering and they werent doing anything else. When they finished orders they sat the drinks on the counter but didnt say anything or announce whos it was, had to ask each time who it belonged to. They just seemed like they didnt want to be there which is understandable but at least pretend because you are being paid to provide customer service. I shouldnt feel like Im inconveniencing you by supporting your business.Edit: changed to 4 stars since they replied and attempted to make it right. I can appreciate giving local youth work experience as well.
The honey canela drink is so good! I enjoyed it iced
I was in my way out of town on Sunday and stopped in around 10:30 am. I ordered two drinks, one was a breve that I requested syrup for and the other drink was an Iced Americano, both 16 ounce. I was told that they didn’t really use syrups for their drinks but they had a few, so I asked what was available. She named three that she had then went over to a shelf to see what was on it. I made my choice and then she proceeded to make the order though she seemed a little put off that I asked to know what syrups they had the whole time. She asked me to have a seat and she would let me know when my order was ready. There was already two ladies waiting for their order and one gentleman behind me who seemed to be familiar with the counter ladies. Then another woman came in with two other people. The ladies before got their drinks. Then the gentleman who was behind me got his. I was a bit perplexed but figured he had one drink to fill. I waited some more while other people got their drinks. I had been there about 15-20 minutes before I decided to walk up to the counter and ask if my order was ready. I got an apology for the wait and I saw the lady remove a drink that was sitting next to the espresso machine and one that had been sitting underneath a plastic shelf. FYI- there was already a drink underneath that shelf when I walked in to order.I noticed that the iced coffee had no ice in it and so I asked her if there was ice in it. Apparently, the ice had melted and she apologized again and took the drink over to a sink, dumped out some coffee and put more ice cubes in the cup. I paid for a 5-shot, iced coffee and she told me that it was still the same after she just dumped some out into the sink. I disagree but that was what I paid for, how come no remake of the item? I didn’t even ask for my money back, which maybe I should have, but I just wanted to leave since it was almost close to 20 minutes that I had been waiting.I take my drinks and proceed to leave. Both of my hands were full, while I tried to open the door handle with one coffee spilling over my hands. A lady sitting on a bench gets up to help, she sees me struggling to open the door. As the door is opened, two gals are on the other side, one rushes in front of me, making a further mess while the other waits to let me out. I did say “Thanks for letting me by” to the gal who rushed me. I then hear some one say “ That lady is a bitch”. Wow, that really solidified my experience there. I didn’t look back after that comment, and I had to go elsewhere to clean the spilled coffee on my hands since no restroom was there at the coffee shop. The drinks I ordered also were not what I expected, both tasted watered down with only a hint of coffee with sugar. I see all the positive reviews, that’s great and the place was really neat as far as the art goes, but my experience was not a positive one at all.
Great local coffee place. I love the caramel mio
Yummy drinks!Sat outside on a picnic table in the sun :)Looked like they had a dance party the night before, there was a dance floor set up’ how fun!
The staff was sociable and attentive. The bill was reasonable. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I liked.
Amazing espresso drinks and the stuffed Bollilo roll was incredible! Fantastic outdoor area and cool art work and super friendly service!
Wonderful hidden gem in south phoenix Azukar can rival any coffee shop in the state of arizona with amazing hand painted art hanging on the walls to the friendly service and delicious drinks this place is a must vist for any coffee enthusiast!
Have you ever had a warm bolillio filled with jalapeno cream cheese? This will certainly be a way to your heart if you entertain spicy foods. Never had this before and glad my girlfriend suggest I try it. Will certainly be coming back for this and some more of the phenomenal coffee! A+ to everyone and everything at Azukar!
Quaint coffee house with outdoor seating in South Phoenix; offering a diverse selection of unique hot and cold beverages. The cucumber ice tea is refreshing and the horchata coffee is delicious.
This coffee shop is amazing with everything the service is perfect, and the staffs are very welcoming! The coffee here tastes better than the other well-known coffee shop in the city. They serve a variety of food options as well. I will add this place to my fave coffee shop now, and recommend to all of all my friends who love coffee!
We brought the whole family to meet some friends (group of pregnant women and young moms) and I was excited to try the Jamaica Hibiscus Tea. I was very happy to hear it was unsweetened as I like my tea dark and bitter “like my heart” lol. We ordered the cilantro egg bagel sandwich. It was tastey with a quality bagel, fresh cilantro, a decently cooked juevo and jamon. We walked in during a rush and our orders took a little longer then normal to come out but the staff was helpful and smiled through the rush while assuring the customers of their orders. All in all we had a great experience. It’s was a friendly atmosphere, the music was not too loud so we could talk, they offered puzzles for the kids and they had conchas which Riancito loves. I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the family atmosphere.#RyanWinkle #LaEricka #Riancito #lfthx #AzukarCoffee
It was amazing! Coffee was good and they also had very good food and customer service. The only thing is that google says there is no dine-in but THERE IS.The vibe of the place is really good.
Nice local coffee shop with a chill vibe. Love their coffee drinks and the local baked goods.
Súper cute coffee shop with legit limonadas, artisan twists to the coffee and cafe-foods. Food made to order with fresh cilantro! 😍
Im so glad I stopped here. I loved the decor. I loved the whole feel of the shop. The girl that helped us was so friendly and even had a good conversation with us. My drink was awesome and was really good. I will definitely go back again.
Was closed when it was supposed to be open. Wanted to try it.
Best cheese quesadilla...ask to make it crispy... :)
The coffee and danish were delicious. And the bolillo with cheese and egg was also delicious. The service very good and very friendly people.
This is my most favorite coffee place hands down and Ive taken my whole family and recommended to so many people because of how good their drinks are.
This place is amazing. My girlfriend and I were looking for a cool spot to get some homework done and we were pleasantly surprised when we came across Azukar. The Carmelo Mio latte was to die for and the Mango Chile Limonada was so good I had to get a second one for the road when we left. The staff was very friendly and engaged in conversation with all of the customers while they waited for their food and drinks. The building was clean and well-kept and had beautiful artwork displayed inside and out.We will be coming back again to try more of their menu very soon!
If this isnt the best Vibin, great tasting, good music, dope Art, simple but definitely DELICIOUS comfort food little coffee spot. A must try for sure 💯🤤
Our barista today was fantastic and she made great recommendations. Well definitely be back.
I love this place! The coffee and the teas are amazing. The one I love the most is agave mesquite!
Loveliest little coffee place
Friendly staff. Gave me a free espresso shot- yea.
Good coffee, friendly service reasonable prices. lets keep supporting small businesses .
Great coffee and very nice staff!
This is my go-to cafe ever since I discovered it. Coffee always tastes amazing. I usually get the Iced Caramelo Mio but I’ve also tried the Cold Brew Horchata and Iced Cucumber tea and the Mango Chile one and they are all amazing! So glad to have a great cafe like this one nearby my house. It doesn’t hurt that they have free WiFi too.
Finally some good coffee, will be back again.
Strong and tasty coffee (I got the cold brew horchata). Food and service was good as well.
Great locally owned coffee shop!! I found this place while looking at Ponchos on the map and decided to try it. Boy, did I hit gold!!
I love their coffee! Every single time. Looking forward to going back there.
The Hibiscus tea was amazing. Sweetness was to perfection. My daughter had the lime lemonade also amazing. Everything is natural ingredients. Ive had their honey agave coffee... also loved it!
We love the coffee from here. And saturday they have really cool shops in front.
I love this coffee shop. Great art work. The cafe horchata was perfect not too sweet not to bitter. I met the owner there too. Shes a doll. I will always support this small business.
Always and I mean always a great experience and time there. Customer service is always 10 stars!! Excellent coffee and food!!
I love this place! It has a warm inviting feel. The staff and customers are always nice and there are few places around like it. There are some very unique drinks here that other places do not have and are worth trying out. The best part for me is it is next to my work and that deserves a bonus star!
This little place is easy to pass by on your way to your daily deal. but youll regret it. The shop is small, but the staff are friendly. Coffee is good and the snacks and small bites are great as well. Definitely worth a try and to support a small business.
We love coming to this quaint coffee house for lattes and breakfast
Delicious coffee with a Mexican spin.
Horchata gives me life
Tasty coffee! Beautiful atmosphere. Great space for working too. I enjoy yoga on the patio on the weekends.
Love the coffee here, one of my favorite spots
Great coffee and food. great serves. Good prices. Friendly employees, family atmosphere. Love it.
First time here and all I can say is where has this been all my life? Cold brew con horchata is so good. Also snagged a barillo sandwich and it was also on point. Very nice service. This is a hidden gem. I will be back again.
Best Mexican coffee and joint the last two years running in a definitely shows. The coffeep is delicious and the pastries are pretty good as well but you have to go inside and take a trip down the very small staircase in the back for an added experience.
Its close to my house, but I dont stop in nearly as often as I wish I could. Great coffee, quiet place on Central Ave, and everyone is friendly. Highly recommend Azukar for coffee in South Phoenix!
Love this place. Great food, great coffees!
This is hands down my most favorite coffee shop I have ever visited. I have yet to find a place that can come close to their quality of product. I love the artistic atmosphere which includes murals from local artists, paintings from students and great music. The owner truly cares about each customer and it is very apparent from the attention to detail in every drink and food item. If you are in a rush I reccomend calling in your order ahead of time.
It was definitely a unique experience! It looked like a little house from the outside. The coffee and the breakfast quesadilla were both delicious 👌 They do keep it a little chilly in there so its nice that they have outside seating as well.
