Hahns has an extensive selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. Even so, this nursery is usually the last one that I visit when Im looking for a specific plant/specimen.Why, you ask?1. Its far from my home base.2. The prices can be shocking. (Having said this, there were a number of half-off sales going on today)3. Pittsburghers dont cross bridges. 😉Today I saw that Hahns does have volume discounts for certain plants. (For example, buy a flat of ____ plant, get a percentage off...)Unfortunately for me, though, the plant I was looking for (horsetail rush--its unusual enough that I shouldve called first.) Wasnt available. I was able to ask an employee regarding their stock of this plant AND able to get an answer very quickly and efficiently--I didnt have to wait around for 10 minutes)This nursery is a great place to go to waste a lot of time with all of the beautiful flora. (I mean that in a very positive way!)A question to Hahns: Do you have a PA/Ohio River Valley NATIVE plant collection?More and more Im increasingly inclined to plant native grasses, trees, bushes and flowers. (You may have something like this set up already, but I want specifically seeking it out today.)Final thoughts: I may not go here often, but when I do, I enjoy the time that I have spent meandering through their extensive collections. Its like Phipps, but you can buy the plants and take them home!Enjoy the sights and smells of this beautiful nursery!PS Thank you Hahns for showcasing the KS state grass from my home state (Little Bluestem) If you have erosion problems, these two varieties may very well solve some of the problem. I’m an avid garden and daughter of generations of avid gardeners. I get all of my plants from Hahn Nursery. They have the healthiest plants at a decent price. Honestly, I’ve never been disappointed by any of the hundreds of plants I’ve gotten from them .The staff there is so knowledgeable and helpful. I got a plant from a big box store once that was sickly and dying. The staff at Hahn diagnosed the problem and helped me treat the plant to save it. Just go to Hahn Nursery. You’ll see the difference.

Never been here personally until yesterday. I was so overwhelmed with beautiful choices that i couldnt make a decision. I came back today to finish the experience. Thank you so much! Looking forward to my next visit!

As an avid house plant shopper, I was very impressed with Hahn’s varied selection. They had rare plants that I had never seen in store before, along with more common houseplants. Their prices were maybe a bit on the high side, but not unreasonable.

AWESOME NURSERY AND GREENHOUSE!!! Staff is very friendly and helpful. HUGE selection of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees. Just moved to Pittsburgh and had no idea I lived so close to a great nursery. I highly recommend Hahn Nursery €:-)

We looked for a while at different nurseries in the area, and we kept coming back to here. Always the most selection of different things. Prices are reasonable too. I send all my friends there to get stuff.Thank the lord the have.longer hours and now weekends! That old schedule sucked!

Purchased this tree 12/5/2020, and the tree is drying out. Stopped taking in fresh clean water 2 days ago. Some of the needles are falling off and turning brown. Hahn’s use to be our go to place, at least for 10 years. The quality of their trees were excellent. The staff were very knowledgeable and answer our questions truthfully. Never steered us to make a wrong selection. This year, there were new faces... We always purchased Frazier fir trees, but the selections were sparse. Besides expensive, they were too tall. So, we selected this tree, Canaan fir, we asked some questions about this type of tree and the sales associate was vague. We were thinking of going somewhere else, but we trusted them for all these years, so we decided to purchased the tree. Big mistake. Never again. Warning, Do not purchased Christmas trees there.Update: 12/29/2020Christmas Day, some of the branches started to droop and one of my Christmas ornaments fell and broke. Removed some of my fragile ornaments from the tree. Each passing day more branches are drooping, I was hoping to keep the tree up until New Year’s Day, but that’s unlikely now. Oh well. Happy 2021! 🙂FYI - Contacted the owner after reading his response, but the owner wasn’t in. Left a message with his sales associate that I called.

Sorry that was to be a 4 not a 3. It was a very nice place. A little bit on the pricey.

I find shopping here fun. You never know what you will see, and all the standbys are here. And, importantly, when it is crowded they are on top of their game and know how to get you thru the checkout quickly.

I love Hahns Garden Center but the hours are terrible. They close so early.More than that every time I go there the manager is yelling at the employees. Its very unprofessional and frankly stresses me out in a place where I like to relax when I shop.

My children bought me a Japanese Red Maple at the Nursery for Mothers Day. Followed all directions in planting and watering. Dead within 3 weeks. Very disappointed. They have a no warranty policy I found out. Also very disappointing with the cost of that tree.

We went to three nurseries today. This was the best 👌.

Took my granddaughter, who just bought a house. We bought a few things, she liked all they had. Close to her house.

I cant say enough about Hahn Nursery. I was looking for two very specific items and they were able to track them down. Even with everything going on with COVID-19, they were always great about following up and providing any updates. They also have been really thoughtful/creative with changing their business to accommodate social distancing to keep customers as safe as possible which is definitely appreciated.

I probably have been going to Hahns Nursery for forty years. It started with buying flowers with my mother, then buying flowers for myself and now buying flowers for my daughter. I was there two days ago and I want to respond to Natalie Johnsens review dated 6 days ago. I find her comments demanding and lacking in patience. First of all, Hahns just recently opened due to the pandemic. Second, there are parking attendants for safety. The parking lot can get busy with cars pulling in, cars backing up and people walking with their flower carts. Third, they hire some young people to help who may not know all the plant and tree information so they direct you to the people who do. In the past I have even shown them photos of shrubs not doing well to get their opinion. Hahns has the best selection of shrubs, trees, annuals and perennials.

Customer service is less than what you would expect. Manager is rude, lacks soft skills, and uncaring. Owners should evaluate this as they must be losing business. There are many friendly and knowledgeable places to shop in Ross area that are much cheaper and pleasant. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS.

Pulled in today and were yelled at abruptly and told where to park by a parking attendant.... weird. Went in this morning to look for some trees and when we asked for help the woman was bothered by us asking her for assistance and told us that someone else could help us and she pointed in a direction and described to us who we could look for to help, we just left. Don’t want to make a purchase where staff is rude and dismissive. Should have just turned around when the dude yelled at us where to park! Won’t be coming back.

Had a problem with a tree I purchased last Fall. Without hesitation they took care of the problem. Paid a visit today. Great plants, shrubs, and trees. Service is second to none. Don’t waste your time at a home center. Go to the professionals.

I am very happy with my visits to Hahns. Staff always willing to help with your selections, in this case, poinsettias. They had such wide beautiful choices. I remain a loyal customer.

I was looking for a red maple and called Hahns. Talked with Dave, he was so nice and informative. He didnt make me feel rushed like the other nurseries that I had called.I went there bought it...great price!It was at least 10 feet high. They helped me put it in my car as well.I will be going back there for my herbs.

I originally am from North Hills, the location of Hahns nursery. I moved out of state, but can count on Hahns to have the best variety of plants, shrubs etc. I make a stop there every time I am in the area. It is a must.The staff is very helpful and friendly.This visit I found two of the plants I have been looking for at other nurseries all summer!

Out of a particular perennial, they offered to put me on a call list when it arrived, a week and a half later got the call. Thanks Diane and Hahn for such attentive service even at your busiest time!

Wonderful place to shop for plants for landscaping! They have a large selection of plants. They are knowledge and helpful and can offer good advice on plant selection.

We just moved here from Murfreesboro, TN. My husband grows a salsa garden. Us being new to Pittsburgh, we had no idea go. So we stop here and got couple of things. They are so knowl·edge·a·ble and sweet. We cant plant outside or garden to after Mothers Day weekend. So we loaded our things and was backing out, this girl comes running out with a plant. We stop and she said this is to Welcome you to Pittsburgh. Now how sweet is that. Later on we went out to eat and everyone said that this is Hahn Nursery is place go. So ~Thank You~ and you will be seeing us again. :)
