Friendly atmosphere with some darn good coffee! Beautiful view of the city. Todd does a hell of a job so much so its like he lives there. Great food and ice cream. I would highly recommend stopping by for a treat.

Cozy walkable coffee shop just a couple blocks away from the station square incline. The owner was super nice and the coffee was absolutely delicious!

I go here for any type of sweet, breakfast bread, or donuts. I have a bit of a sweet tooth so I usually have different favorites for each of these but since moving to Mount Washington this is my favorite place hands down. I would go there everyday if I could. Their prices are good and make going there every day pretty tempting. Staff is always friendly and the place is always clean. Ive been there a lot and I always get a smile and a have a good day.

My husband, 11 month old son, and I were exhausted from Pittsburghs hills and stopped in for coffee. We had no cash and the man working let us have our drinks for free. Such a nice place.

This a great place to hang out if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city! Feels like visiting a hill station you you go there during the winter. Mount Washington has always been a go-to place to find some quiet and cafe just augmented that experience. The owner is very warm and makes you feel like youre at home. I can spend hours and hours here. The coffee too is great! Freshly brewed along with home made delicacies at totally affordable prices. An overall great and refreshing experience!

Great little place to stop after a ride up on the incline in the morning. People were nice and friendly the lattes where good and so were the muffin and pumpkin roll.

I stopped in here with friends while we were in the city and the owner was so friendly and personable. He recommended the Chai Tea and it was the best Ive ever had in my life! My boyfriend tried the Dark Mocha Latte and it was amazing as well. This place is super cute, smells amazing, and has a great atmosphere. I definetly recommend stoping by!

I’m a pretty friendly guy, but the guy that runs this place is super unfriendly about the whole experience. I tried to be nice but now I won’t even look at him as I pass his shops. He was rude to my girlfriend and me on different occasions.

The owner is quite rude impatient. Im also not certain he knows or cares enough to properly serve coffee or related beverages. I used to live in Mount Washington and was told to avoid the place. My wife and I were visiting family and decided for a coffee and a stroll.Aside from the owner being rude, we ordered and Americano and a cappuccino. They tasted like, and wife said she saw, it wasnt espresso used for either, but brewed coffee. The cappuccino was just the brewed coffee and milk, so it wasnt even steamed properly.This place has a history of being this way, even worse to other people, too. If youre a tourist for the view, avoid this place for a brew!

The owner is VERY rude — likely the most unpleasant experience i’ve ever had in pittsburgh. the coffee is gross and overpriced. check out De Fer in the strip — the coffee is better and the service is great. this place is only open because his customer base consists of tourists and no repeat customers.

Would give fewer stars if I could. My wife was recently walking by here and heard the owner and his friends repeatedly using the N word to describe a local mans homecare nurse.All of this happened right out on the sidewalk where pedestrians walk by. Disgusting.Thats even worse than the over-priced food and coffee he sells out of the shop.

Todd the owner must have able to tell my family of four was looking for a warm place to find a treat (after we rode the incline and took in the sights at 20degrees). He called us in and welcomed our dog as well. An unexpected gem of a place. Great service, conversation, and delicious coffee and treats. We went back every day during our stay. One time for the ice cream that my daughter said was delicious. We will be back during our next Pittsburgh trip for sure!!!!!

Owner is rude and acts like anyone’s patronage is an inconvenience to him. Didn’t follow COVID protocols and mocked people for wearing masks. Coffee was terrible too, most gas stations make better cups. Google lets businesses purge negative reviews so people probably won’t see this but it’s worth getting my experience out there.

The products were perfect, but the owner called his brother( I believe) a “retard” while I was checking out. Very hurt by these comments and I will no longer be supporting his stores ever again!

Delicious and quality coffee with speciality flavors and no shortage of choices! But the real specialty here is the service. So friendly, they make you feel like a regular even if you’re a total stranger - and in the time of masks and distancing, this is a rare and valuable feat. There was even a smiley face on top of my latte foam! I wish I could spend a whole day here. Highly recommend.

Stopped there from a walk on Grandview promenade. Welcoming and assertive owner. But chai latte for $6 was a bit over prices and I asked for sizes and was told to get the medium. Hopefully it was authentic chai and not a mix. Im all for quality tea and prices but $6 didnt seem worth it when specialty coffees and teas cost $3-5 bucks. It is the only coffee cafe around so if you need energy it is there.

We stopped here this weekend while out and about for my friend’s bachelorette weekend and the owner was SO SWEET. He made my day by having pumpkin spice lattes in March! The chocolate chip cookie was to DIEEEE for! Such a great experience 💛

Visited for the weekend, got a latte along with a lot of pastries with my family and they were super friendly! The best latte I think I have ever gotten.

The one guy working there was friendly, but he couldnt be bother to get off his phone while we were placing the order. Thats very unprofessional in my opinion.Everything was definitely overpriced. We got one cookie and it cost us $5 (dont get me wrong, it was delicious but I definitely would not pay $5 for it). No prices are listed either which is annoying so I didnt know it would be that much until he was ringing us up.

My family visited Pitt and stopped in at The Grand Brew and we were so glad we did. It is a cozy place and the Hot tea and Pastries were so good. I had a chance to speak with Todd, the owner, and he is completely delightful to talk to! Best quality coffee in Pittsburgh. Although it may not look as appealing and “aesthetic” as other coffee places. This is by far the best coffee and best cafe staff in the city!! I will go here over any of the other coffee shops in the 412!

If you’re not from Pittsburgh you won’t understand this place, don’t take it personal. Owner is like a true Pittsburgh neighbor & the coffee is usually decent. If nobody is in the shop to take your order it’s because they own the ice cream shop as well and they bounce back and forth. Just go over and give him a holler. Both places are cash only.

Perfect stop for the kids when on Mount Washington! Great pastries and dessert. We will be back in Summer for ice cream.

Happy and surprised to be in service throughout Covid19. Been there more than once.Family owned. Very attentive to customers needs. Awesome selection of custom coffee. White chocolate satin ice coffee my favorite, so far. Local, fresh fish fillet sandwiches on the spot (two sandwich size in one fulfillment). Their Ice cream smooth and delightful. Cannot wait to go back for more.

The best chai tea latte I have ever had! I went on Saturday morning for my first visit there and the owner was extremely nice and made the best chai tea latte for me and made a delicious Sugar free caramel macchiato for my sister, she said it was so good you’d think there was sugar! We enjoyed so much we had to go back today to get the same thing. I highly recommend!

Owner was very friendly. Shop has such a cute charm to it. Coffee was AMAZING. It was my first time in this coffee shop and it is by far my favorite place on Mount Washington.

The day after Christmas my family and I were walking around. We tried to find somewhere to get my son some food, hes 4. he was really hungry and we couldnt find anywhere with quick enough service for him. We walked in and saw that it was cash only and told him thank you but we didnt have cash. He offered and gave my son breakfast for free and offered coffees. Great guy.

Chocolate chip cookie was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Too delicious.

This locally owned coffee shop is a breath of fresh air. The coffee was amazing and the owner was very humble. I was walking my dog and didnt have any cash on me. The owner gave me one on the house. I will definitely be returning to this coffee shop in the near future. It is also in a great location, being on shiloh street and all. It is surrounded by great restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. Thanks again for the fresh cup of joe!

Ordered a latte and who I assumed is the owner just gave me two pumps of coffee from the carafe and some foamy milk. Was more interested in talking to his friends and could care less about customers. Complete scam and would give a 0 if I could. Cash only, no receipt??

Didnt get to try anything. Went in during business hours; a customer was sitting there drinking. We called for anyone if we could order... No response. Customer said that the person stepped out a while ago and hadnt returned yet. She left after finishing her drink and said if she saw them shed let them know there were customers. We left after waiting a few minutes. A shame, wanted an Italian soda.

Hands down the best apple cider Ive ever had.

My mother loves bone-dry cappuccinos, but not many baristas can pull it off. I cant even count how many times weve left a cafe and shes complained about it on the way home. This time, she couldnt stop raving. Said it was made perfectly and couldnt wait to visit Pittsburgh to have another one.

Wrong change was given back. Owner had an 11 am appointment so had to unkindly rush us out of there. He was also pretty loud in there talking on phone and to friends that came in. ( The shop has a phone but the number advertised is not in service. )Theres many other coffee shops out there with better service & coffee.

I would pay six dollars for a good whoopie pie. I wouldnt again pay for one from a dude who wears no gloves and gets stuff all over the otherwise mediocre pie. Nor would I pay 5 dollars for a medium hot chocolate again. As well, he doesnt take cash so you have to use the $3 ATM. If you like the desperately trying to be cute coffeeshop then go here, otherwise take your money to a better establishment

Terrible. Walked in and the owner/guy behind the counter was on his cell phone. Acted like I was interrupting him. Ordered two iced coffees and a bagel. Didnt get the bagel. He went and sat outside, had to find him to refill the creamer as it was empty. Asked for our bagel, didnt get the cream cheese we ordered. The bagel itself was hard and stale. Do not bother spending your hard earned money here.

Hot chocolate options were plenty and it was pretty good, so 4 stars for that part I guess. But 1 star for the rest. Employee was less than pleasant. Seemed put out to have to wait on us and even worse to even talk to us about possible lunch options in the area. Simple abrupt answers like no to lunch options, and its a diner when asking if hed ever been to the place up the street. Um yeah, we kind of kind of gathered that much on our own. Whatever.Oh and make sure you bring cash. Found out too late that its a cash-only joint. Would have been nice to know that up front. In hindsight, there were no we accept visa/mc/amex kinds of stickers on the the windows so thats on me I guess. But what do you know, there is an ATM right there on site! So for a $2.75 withdrawal fee that the owner charges, I was able to pay $12.75 for my 2 hot chocolates instead of an already pricey $10.Oh well, those are the breaks sometimes when venturing outside the norms.

I don’t know if when we came here 5 years ago it was different owners or if they have just let the place go but coffee was disgusting. Horrible and stale. Milk was just poured into my cappuccino from a jug that was just sitting there for who knows how long and topped up with a bit of fresh foamed milk. Served in to-go cups and server was more interested in hanging out with his buddies drinking beer there than caring about the coffee. Cakes looked stale and uninviting. We walked out quickly and dumped our $10 worth of drinks straight in the trash.

We stopped by here for a cup of coffee and bagel after the Pittsburgh Marathon and the owner was less than friendly. The whole entire time we were there he was making RACIST remarks and strongly asserting his opinion about the recent NBA/ Donald Sterling situation to another patron (clearly his friend or someone who frequents this place often). I found this place extremely off-putting, mostly due to the nature of the owner. I am surprised people return to this place. He wont be getting any more of our business and Ill be sure to let other people know.
