Amazing conversation with the owner and operator. This man works so hard and just likemost Americans he’s hurting a little after covid. Get out there and buy a cup of coffee off him or eat some of his great food! Anyone who loves his business as much as him I trust making my food. Because that’s his business and he takes it seriously. Can’t wait to go back and eat!!! Great breakfast!
Ate there twice now. First time because the diner across the street was closed. So glad it happened. Greek omelette was excellent. Home fries very tasty. Today I tried the Reuben omelette. Never knew there was such a thing. May be my new favorite dish.
We were in town from Columbus, OH and we were looking for a place for lunch after some shopping. We were not disappointed with the Millvale Diner. Big portions of delicious foods. The photo is of the Millvale Diner Potatoes and they were even better than the image I had in my head. Needless to say after our experiences with the amazing food and the equally amazing staff, the next time I find myself in this area, I will be going out of my way to eat here.
Great late breakfast(available all day). MANY omelet options. Fresh veggies and generous portions. Chef came out to check on satisfaction level. 5 star. . Quick seating & service. Michelle O, you missed a good one in the Burgh!
AMAZING place to eat, perfect service, great prices, large selection and portions. Id give it 10 stars if it was available! My new favorite place to have brunch
Great local place, owner is a outstanding personable guy, who chips in to do whatever it takes to have things run smooth.Great good tasting home made food, excellent portion sizes
The breakfast are top notch! The owner is also your server, your cook, and probably your dishwasher, but he is super friendly, and as attentive is humanly possible.Savings are massive, and relatively inexpensive, comparatively to certain other establishments. 4 of us all had different things, and all were very good and very large! Do not expect a stuffy or high class atmosphere, as the owner will joke with you and that only adds to the charm, particularly in comparison to the grouchy service across the street. He literally gave us tip money back, telling us it was too much (we left it anyways).Super gracious person with amazing breakfasts....just leave the stuffed shirts at home.
Hello Kristen ruhle, you were out when you walk in in the diner for some reason even you have to wait only 10 minutes for your food order but you were sleeping while you’re playing with your phone and I don’t know you remember or no one time phone fell from your hand I don’t know what’s wrong with you but you looks totally out you should not drive your car if you are not feeling well . I don’t know what was the reason you were not in your sense otherwise you can see we put two pancake syrup for two piece of pancake and pineapple pancake always go with canned pineapple and you didn’t notice because you were out we always put green pepper and onion in our home fries we like to see you here again but please Don’t come out in public for your and other people safety thank you
I ordered the Steel Worker Breakfast and it was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I definitely recommend this diner!!!!
Wow! One of the few times the photo didnt do justice to the real thing. We woke up this morning wanting good Eggs Benedict - found recommendation for Millvale Diner online & headed there. So very delicious! My husband said it was the best Eggs Benedict hes ever had. (Btw, he loved crispy bacon bonus on top of poached eggs & scrumptious Hollandaise sauce AND homefries.) Server was very pleasant & accommodating too! Owner most gracious. Thanks, MD!
Love the Millvale Diner! I dont understand why people wait in gigantic out-the door lines at Pamelas/P&G across the street, when food here is just as good. Pams has good pancakes, but its always a special treat to be seated immediately at Millvale Diner and have some awesome eggs benedict or corned beef hash. The hot sauce is good too. Ive only had the breakfast, but come back all the time and one day plan to come for lunch/dinner!
The food was amazing, and portions were huge. Friendly, amazing service, and the owner is an absolute joy. Definitely worth checking out.
Pineapple upside down pancakes are nothing but pancakes with canned pineapples tossed in leaving wayyyyyy to much moisture in the pancakes (idk whose bright idea it was to use canned fruits) and then charge 9$ for 2 of them. no butter included. syrup is so cheap i doesn’t even have any substance to it and has the consistency of water. it was my own fault for not asking about green peppers in the homefries but god forbid we use another container for the bacon! just mixed in with their TERRIBLE potatoes so that was tainted with the taste of the peppers. place has potential but i think the owner is too cheap to offer quality dishes i mean we’re even cutting corners on the syrup. such a shame. and a HUGE WASTE OF 15$ i’ll never be back. n i’ll never let anyone i know go there either. 🤮
Excellent food in pleasant, clean, and simple surroundings. When we were there, only one person (I think the owner) was preparing all the food, so we had to wait a while after ordering before we got to eat (even though there were not too many other diners there). But the food was definitely worth the wait. Good coffee, too! The prices there were very budget-friendly.
Really good breakfast and friendly people that work there!
Great breakfast food, very friendly owner. I will definitely come back to try some other things on the menu
I fully suspect Ill upgrade this to 5 stars later. But the one meal I had just wasnt quite it.I had steak and eggs. Obviously, this is a breakfast place, not a steak house, so I wasnt expecting to have my mind blown, but the steak still could have been a little better for the price, imo. The eggs were delicious, and I was surprised at how much I loved the potatoes. The owner, or at least a man I assumed was the owner spoke to us and he was delightfully charming, enough that I feel bad putting 4 stars. I plan on returning and ordering something else and I 100% expect the meal I had today isnt representative and Ill be able to honestly upgrade to 5.But if you want a small diner, locally owned atmosphere, this is absolutely a must visit.
Food always served fresh, tasty and hot. Love this place.
Went there for breakfast and was not disappointed. Good solid breakfast with good portions and tasted great. Recommend.
Came in to kill some time before a concert at Mr. Smalls. Randomly picked a place after walking around, and ended up here. I had the steak, ham, and egg sub. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I have had. The bread was amazing. I really can’t describe how good it is. Just plain great. The owner greeted us and was friendly, as was the young lady that looked after us.Bottom line, if you’re like me, and looking to kill some time, this is hand down the best place (although, I admit, it the only place I’ve been in Millvale) to eat.
I went to the Millvale Diner this morning with my Grandmother and we had the best time. Her and my uncle go all the time to see Nala and to get the best omelettes. So of course I had to try it out for myself. It was a cute little diner with the best family feel and Nala served us well with a big smile on his face! He cooked up the best veggie omelette for me and some great bacon and eggs for my grandmother. If you are looking for some great food (especially breakfast) I would highly recommend taking your family in for a bite. I cant wait to return again to visit Nala and taste more delicious omelettes!
The food is amazing every time, but they are extremely understaffed one cook one waitress on a Sunday morning. It took way to long to even get our drinks even longer to get our check after. Disappointed
Classic Pittsburgh mill-town diner with no frills and large portions!
Took a risk and ordered the chicken marinara omelette, and the risk was well-worth the reward!! The omelette had chicken, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, cheese, and marinara. I was worried the marinara would be too much, but it complimented the chicken, cheese, and veggies fantastically. Not overly thick, but the perfect consistency. I also subbed the breakfast potatoes for the hash browns, which were perfectly crispy, flaky, and salty, but not too salty. Pancakes are also good...almost crêpe-like bit crispier! 10/10 would recommend!
Never again.. food was good... Servicewas horrible waiter/cook was rude... Was seated mins before another table. Other table received excellent service refills extra napkins never had to ask. I ask for a refill 3 times and never got one. NEVER AGAIN
Wow! Its been along time since ive had a good diner to eat at. Very happy with the food and very nice people ..its a great place will surely be back. Thumbs up
Amazing service and delicious food! Youll surely have a fun time and a great meal here :)
This is really a 3.5, but I’m rounding up. There is not much to the space, classic western PA diner feel. I got a breakfast sandwich which came with a side of home fries. The thing I disliked most was that the sandwich was cut longways and I don’t understand why? It’s just easier to hold if it’s cut down the middle vertically, so please start doing that. The egg and steak sandwich was better than MCD, but right on the average. American cheese and pre-cut steak, but cooked well. The potatoes were a bit too soft for my taste, I also would like more salt and pepper. The price was reasonable and it was clear this place had loyal customers. I’ll give it another try, but only someone recommends it first.
Great service food comes out hot reasonable prices
I stop in the diner at least twice a week and I never leave hungry, always with a box and half of my food in a to go box. The portions are large and the staff is very social able....definitly a must stop if your driving through.....and the bacon and cheese omelet is phenomenal.
Really good food, well served, perfectly prepared and at a good price. Its a small place so you get personalized service.
Great food, enjoyed the banter with the owner. We will be back!
Great service and atmosphere gives you that hometown feeling not commercial feeling. The manager and owners came out and talked to the people in the restaurant I will come back every time Im in town.
My favorite lunch / breakfast Cafe in Millville. Much better prices then the place across the street. Very good food and friendly service.
Went there for lunch today and ended up eating an awesome breakfast instead...a three meat and cheese omelet. Friendly waitress, warm family atmosphereand affordable prices.
The service was good, but the biscuits in the gravy and biscuit were out of a can and burnt. The bacon was good.
First time here, excellent food. Everything was very fresh, and well proportioned for a great price. Definitely will be revisiting when I am in the area.
Great food! Owner is really nice and food quality is amazing. Definetly recommend!
They have great food. Its all home made and fresh. And the service is awesome and friendly.
This place smells horrible, they don’t serve lunch despite it being 12:30 in the afternoon. There are fly traps hanging from the ceiling and to top it off they messed up 2 of our 3 orders. The staff wrote nothing down so I’m not surprised they screwed up.Should have gone across the street and just waited in line
Came here for lunch w some friends and was amazed at the quality of food and the friendly staff/atmosphere
What a clean and cute little place! The gentlemen that took my order was delightful. My food was fresh and tasty, the price was great as well. Help support this business during covid19! You wont regret it
Great food, friendly service-first time there, will definitely return-will be our new go to for weekend breakfast stop.
First time coming to this little diner. It was a wonderful experiences ever in a restaurant. The owner greeted us himself. Then came by each table to greet everyone individually. The waitress was super speedy. Our food came out almost too hot to eat. It also came out within a few minutes of us ordering. The biscuits & gravy were like the southern cooking I’ve experienced. The steak & cheese omelet was equally as delicious. Plenty of parking, delicious food and the accept debit/credit cards. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a great meal at a reasonable price.
In my professional opinion, I would say that Millville Diner was ah deese deese. Got the eggs Benedict. It was incredibly deese deese.
Horrible service and Very Rude Waitress. Wont be returning an will be informing others to do the same!
Amazing food, very fresh! Well priced and proportioned.
The BEST omelette I’ve ever had! Great service, great prices, very clean, and beautiful location. My new place to take anyone visiting!
Bad food in a depressing setting. Unfortunately Pamelas across the street wasnt open and we were stuck with this.
I have been here before. Generally I have been treated very well, even tho I come here by myself. The owner was always ready to engage and be friendly. Unfortunately it wasnt that way today. I felt as though I was an inconvenience...I tried to engage the owner and he seemed irritated... definitely an off day experience. The pancakes were satisfactory...and the new trainee help staff was very pleasant.
I had the best ever chicken wrap (burrito) there this afternoon!!! Lots of fresh chicken, grilled onions and peppers, and perfect amount of cheese. So good! Can’t wait to bring my family in to eat!!! Lovie
Every time i eat there my slices of toast get smaller and smaller, and as i leave i can hear the owner asking the waiter how much i tipped in hindi. talk to the bars around millvale where the diners ex-employees have worked and youll learn he takes all the tips.the food is good. but the owner is awful. just ask around town
I went on a Sunday afternoon and was seated right away. they were only serving breakfast which was fine. I had a delicious omelette with bacon and the person I was with had pancakes home fries sausage and toast, which were all great. fast and friendly service
Pleasantly surprised when I had brunch at the Millvale Diner. Its skin does not particularly help it stand out among its competition but its food is DELICIOUS! This diner serves large portions and flavorful, stick-to-your-bones food that will have you leaving satisfied every time.
Great breakfast!Eggs Benedict cooked to perfection. Big portions. Excellent service!
Walked in to the owner waving us over to the only empty table left in this small diner. Nice older gentleman. The food was fantastic! I recommend the Steel Worker Breakfast with Chocolate Chip Pancakes!Perfect small town diner to stop at if you are looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of Pittsburgh.
Went here for first time and what we are assuming is the owners vehicle due to the vanity plate, was not only parked on the handicapped lines but also blocking the wheelchair accessible entrance. We sat and waited for about 15 minutes to see if they would move and when nobody showed, we left to go to an establishment who takes accessibility seriously. Very disappointed ☹️
Great food great service.
Eating here was like a glorious trip to the past where the owner/cook made sure that his customers were happy. He served noticably generous portion sizes with hand-chosen quality ingredients, and they were skillfully prepared. My wife and I explained how well we enjoyed our meal, and he explained his MO and you could sense his sincerity about wanting to do a great job and please his customers.
Great place, pleasant staff great food!
Great food and great service. We will be back.
This place is fantastic, its never very busy when I go eat breakfast mid-morning. Given the quality of the food, it should be busting at the seams. Ive had several items on the menu, and they do the straightforward menu items very very well with a great attention to detail. An example is the cheeseburger omelette, no big deal right? The seasoning was perfect, the mixed vegetables within were perfectly tender, and it wasnt too greasy or even greasy at all. They make the best crispy hash browns in all of the North Hills in my opinion. It says a lot that most of the times Ive been there cops have either come in to eat or come in to say hello. Also, Ive never been there when the chef hasnt come out for a personal touch of saying hello to the table and introducing himself. I think its the best breakfast in Millvale.
Food was very good: Greek omelet. Coffee so-so. OJ about the same. I waited at the bar 10 -15 minutes before my order was taken. Gentleman came in some time after and sat down next to me: same thing. It wasnt packed.
Homemade food at a reasonable price.
This is the place! The food is awesome (especially the Greek omelette!)All of the food they are serving coming past us also looks awesome and everyone is smiling when enjoying their food!Small operation operated by the owner himself! He takes pride in every they serve.A welcome change to some other places weve eaten at.Keep up the great work and well be back soon!!!
I love this place! Go there often with just me and my 18 month old. Were always seated next to the window for maximum entertainment and minimum disturbance, which is necessary for my firecracker child. Always kind, quick and very personal service. Food is made by the owner, with generous portions, and home cooked flavor. We always have the same server, shes pretty much the only one there all the time, and shes been there for years. Shes great and the banter between her and the owner can be entertaining. Sometimes she can get a little busy and the service is a little slower (totally understandable), but food still comes out fast. All in all, great place, great food, great specials, great prices, and great service!
When we arrived, we were promptly seated. However, other groups came in after us and ordered drinks and food before our waiter came back to take our order. We also overheard of a to-go order that a guy came to pick up, and they said that they chose not to make it because a new guy answered the phone.Despite that, my chocolate and pb pancakes were great, and my husbands omelette was delicious. Our waters were never filled, but our bellies are full!
Nice little place. I placed my order and it came out pretty quick. Was a little slow (Wed 5pm). I ordered the Mountain Man and it was good. Lots of flavor and hand packed patties not frozen. All and all.. I would come back.
Great, reasonably priced food. All meals are delicious, and the server and chef are very friendly! They deliver, too. Favorite food has to be the chicken marinara omelette and the gyro quesadilla.
I went to get the Greek Omelet from their menu, and it’s a hearty and delicious vegetarian choice. There was more than enough food for the low price. And the atmosphere was extremely inviting!
First time here however my father had been dining since it opened some years ago. Food is average and the service was quick as well as the time it took for your order to be placed and food on the table. Id recommend if Pams across the street is packed or you just want a hearty breakfast.
Fantastic food and good prices! Clean, old-school diner vibe. Walk right in at most times of day. Highly recommended! The French Toast is a favorite.
Good food and fast service. We were able to get a table right away for 12 people. Would definitely return.
This place was awesome! Amazing food! The prices are great! You definitely get your moneys worth! The owner was awesome and checked several times to make sure everything was ok! I will return when I am in the area!!!
Ive been here a few times and after today wont be back. Food has always been pretty decent and prices mostly reasonable, but the way the owner treats his staff and customers is really quite unacceptable in my opinion. He is always yelling at his one server of the day, he has given me a hard time for not wanting potatoes with my breakfast, and today when the place was overwhelmed and there was a wait to place an order( not to sit) he refused to allow his server to serve beverages, even water, to folks sitting there patiently waiting.
Every time I go to Millville I stop to eat breakfast here. Never had a problem before. Food was always good, owner was nice. But this last time, I went in and the waitress pointed to a seat at the counter. There were many open tables, but she said that since I was a single I had to sit at the counter. I always sat at a table in the past. I have a bad back and couldnt sit there. I decided to leave . Wont go back again.
Just an FYI, the jagoff owner “kaboom” DOES NOT let his waitresses keep there tips. I witnessed it first hand this morning and confronted him about it. He makes them hand the tips over after every transaction and puts it in the drawer. He justified it by telling me he pays the waitresses a higher than normal per hourly rate than what other waitresses get. BS! Just wanted to give you a heads up.-Multiple people from Facebook. Felt obligated to share and get this guy put in jail because thats illegal.
The cook is the owner, I do believe. I also get the vibe that his waitress is either his wife, or a best friend. The two of them run the restaurant like a precision clock. If you order a bowl of ice cream be prepared for about a pint of it! Chef wont reveal his secret ingredient, but the French toast was outstanding. A better hamburger (quite large), I challenge you to find. Actually, I have never had anything there that was not really tasty. Kudos to you for a wonderful inexpensive restaurant in my little corner of the universe, Millvale, PA
Found parking about a block away. Quick service, food was good. Coffee service slow. Moderately priced. Nice neighborhood diner. Not worth a long drive.
Wonderful diner with delicious food and kind employees. My omelette was overflowing with perfectly sauteed veggies and the right amount of cheese. Give this place a try.
Most excellent delightful experience. Food was delicious. The owner is so friendly and an amazing cook!
Small hard working family operation providing very good food at a reasonable price! Keep up the good work!!!
The breakfast food is low priced and served very hot. The home fries are the best I have had. I have never had to wait long for my food. I go twice a month or I do try to.
Dont know what he adds to those home fries but they are the BEST ever. The Greek Omelet .....loaded with veggies and topped off inside with a smathering of the really good feta cheese. As for the sausage and biscuit gravy....hubby used toast to get every last drop off the plate. Yeah that good. Plus two cups of robust coffee all at about $20. We are planning on lunch or dinner next time.
Great food service and price it felt like being in my own home with family
Great food, really enjoy the blueberry pancakes. Owner is super friendly, prices are perfect. Not much else to want. :)
Excellent food and service. So glad we ate here !! Manager was super nice and even came to our table. I had pancakes and bacon which I thought was even better than Pamela’s.
Great food! Awesome service. Love this place ❤️
I love the millvale diner! The food is so good, the waitstaff is awesome, and the food always comes out so fast. I love it here. Perfect for a quiet, quality diner experience.
Delicious food and great service.
I love this place. We always get great food and service. Better than Pamelas by a mile!
Great place to have breakfast. The staff is always friendly, and there are no long lines like across the street. Its also just a few blocks from the best bakery in the city.
I’ve been there three times this week! I love it so much. The omelets are so good and the home fries are amazing! I recommend it
Had the Greek omelette and it was excellent! Good value for the money. Try it!!
Wonderful restaurant and atmosphere, best greek omelette Ive ever had, they dont skimp on the fillings! Highly recommend you try this hidden gem in Millvale!!
