They sent our uhaul boxes to the wrong storage center. Cost us $2,500 to ship it to the correct location. They never told me the place I was moving to didnt do uhaul boxes. Had to rent a truck unload our boxes into the uhaul truck. Then unload the uhaul truck at our new house. All more expenses.I asked the rep what I did wrong when I placed the order. She said nothing. I was transferred to a supervisor who was supposed to give me some kind of a refund. Didnt accept they messed up. Was told that her supervisor would now call me the following Monday. They never even bothered to call.

Dont usually review places but I was impressed with the ease of moving and uhaul was quick and efficient with renting and the after hours drop off since we hit traffic and rain on our travels in and out of the city and was delayed a few hours. Definitely recommend them.
Vincent was so helpful to us and I highly recommend! Our towing hitch was seized up and we couldn’t get it out and Vincent helped us right away even though they were super busy at the time. I really appreciated how accommodating he was!!
We didn’t even pick up the truck that we reserved because my husband and I were reprimanded by a rude employee for driving in the parking lot. The lot was completely full and we were looking for a spot when an employee came flying through the lot in a truck and layed on his horn at us. My husband explained that we were looking for a spot and trying to turn around to which the employee rudely responded with “its called reverse.” We gave our business to a smaller truck rental up the road.
I’ve had the misfortune of going to this location three times this year. All three times the staff has had terrible mask hygiene. I saw a staff member pull down his mask to sneeze. If you can’t trust them with the little things, you shouldn’t trust them with the big things.
UHaul Moving and Storage on Washington Blvd is absolute best! I have a storage unit at this location and the customer service is top notch all the way. Helen Terry is the CSR that ALWAYS handles my account. Not only does she know her storage units, but ALWAYS GIVES OUTSTANDING SERVICE! I conveniently made arrangements to bring my car in for a bike rack hitch... Vincent wrote me up and Mike installed the hitch. I was totally happy with the interaction. I thought the price was fair, the customer service was excellent and I now have a substantial bike rack hitch on my car.
I went to rent a box truck and when I returned my truck my invoice was incorrect. When I called to speak to someone regarding this issue I kept getting different answers on what I need to do next. The next day I returned and spoke to an “acting manager “ by the name of DJ. He was extremely rude and did not managed the issue in a professional manner.
Did the job but not a good experience. Reserve a pick up truck and a motorcycle trailer for one day, arrive 20 mins earlier before pick up time, they draft a contract with fee for two days because of that but the staff failed to explain this back at that time. Only the next day the manager called to explain after I spent 20 mins writing and email with screenshot indicating what went wrong, which could be avoided if the staff could explain this at pick up time. Next day at drop off, the same staff impatiently refused to examine the truck and trailer while I was at present. In the end I received the final bill, though the second day fee and taxes removed, they charged me fuel that I did not use (returned the truck more gas than it had at picked up). Sent emails twice and called as well (number not reaching the store, but customer service instead, looooong wait time), no response. It is not about the extra few bucks, it is how I was treated the whole process and waste of time due to confusing messages and chaos management. I also overheard the same staff complaining with another customer about how much he hated his job, which seems very unprofessional to me. Not sure if this is a UHaul issue or just this store, but I would definitely not going back to the same store next time I need it.
The young man Perry was very detail-oriented and helpful. He got me set up with a truck and auto transport, he also included very explicit instructions on how to hook up my vehicle as well as the unhooking the hitch. The guys were slammed with customers but were getting them in and out without any issues. Great job!!Always make sure you take pictures before taking the uhaul to ensure you are not blamed for any damage.
Avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid. Ive been to this location several times now and they are routinely rude, patronizing and a headache to work with.Everyone who enters your shop has a problem -- they have to move their stuff. Your job is to help them. If thats such an inconvenience to you, why did you open a U-Haul franchise? Every time I go into this shop its like the owner is having an existential crisis.
Love this place. Just had fourth hitch installed over past 10+ years. $200 installed for exact same spec’d 2” hitch (525 lb tongue weight) that Subaru wanted $549 for.Install took about an hour. As they get busy they’re champions about taking care of customers so I didn’t mind the wait.
Customer service was lacking. We were given information over the phone about cost and where we could pick up and drop off, which we made sure to clarify multiple times was the case. Then when we got to the site to pick up our truck we were told something very different. Instead of trying to help find a solution, the associate behind the counter was extremely rude and standoffish. He was far more interested in telling me how my quickly my fines would pile up and how much money I would owe then trying to work with me. I would not recommend using this location.
I had an excellent interaction with Terry. He was able to demonstrate that he was knowledgable about the services along with assistance from his manager Vincent. Terry not only took me to the unit to show me the storage space and location but also reiterated the services and why I should chose to partner with Uhaul for my storage unit. I was very impressed and delighted to have worked with Terry, enthused by the passion for the company he displayed. Overall, after visiting and conducting business with many other U-Haul locations I must say this Washington Blvd location has proven to be the best experience I have had with U-Haul. A big thank you to the higher ups and management teams.
Pleasant woman named Sharon assisted me. She greeted me as soon as I walked in and promptly gathered my info so that she could get the truck in a timely manner. Once I noticed how huge the reserved truck was she was able to switch it to the 15’ with no problems or an attitude! She made sure that I had all the extras that were needed to go with the truck (since this is my very first move using a U-Haul)I was told not to rent anything from the Washington Blvd location and if I did then go with my guard up because the employees are very unprofessional! That statement was untrue. Please don’t allow someone else’s experiences deter you away from yours, since you never know what yours will be like.-Thank you very satisfied customer
They tried to pull a fast one on me and said that I never returned their vehicle and they would report it as stolen when I turned it in the same day. Apparently they are inhibited when it comes to keeping accountability of their own vehicles and enjoy giving their customers a panic attack while we’re at work. Uhaul lost another customer for sure.
My experience with renting a 9 cargo van was excellent. The staff was very helpful, explaining clearly how the charges were billed. The van was clean and very new. It handled very well. They also had the supplies we needed to move some of the more special items like mattresses and box springs to keep them clean during storage. Gas mileage wasnt great but no worse than a truck.
I am never one to complain about service but this really was ridiculous. In preparation to move we had reserved a truck online for a 3pm pickup. Upon arrival we learned our reservation was “cancelled” because they had listed our reservation as 2:30 and have a mysterious unlisted “one hour pickup” policy although all of our previous email confirmations disagreed on their pickup time and made no mention of this poor policy. We had to remake the reservation once we arrived and were greeted very rudely and it was slow. Their communication was so poor and Michael was intolerant and unwilling to hear our issues. I felt so uncared for when considering how much money we were spending on their business. If you want quality service I suggest another location.
The worst location in a 80 miles radius, rude staff, unhelpful staff, long waits over two hours every time I go, equipment always wrong, dirty store, dirty equipment, untrained employees. Not recommend for anything.
I own a small moving company and use Uhaul when in need of an extra truck. Vince, Mike and the rest of the employees treat me like family everytime I visit. My favorite Uhaul in Pittsburgh. Customers be aware this is a very busy uhaul esp in the summer.
Dont use the website to rent a U-Haul Box. There is a serious lack of communication between what happens online and in real life. The website doesnt tell you everything you need. I ordered a box, and after loading my stuff, I scheduled it to be picked up. I assumed that meant it would be shipped. The man I talked to didnt tell me that I had to make a second phone call to schedule the shipment, and the website doesnt make it clear that there is a second phone call that needs to be made. When I talked to the representative for their U-Haul Boxes, she mentioned that its a common mistake people make and complain about. So U-Haul knows that people are making this mistake and not bothering to correct it. So I was calling to see when it would be delivered two weeks after they picked it up only to find out that it hadnt been shipped. This was after my first attempt at calling and the person couldnt give me any info and told me to call back latter. Go with another service, even if its more expensive. There is a reason that its so cheap.
These guys were timely, professional, and super helpful as they installed a trailer hitch on my SUV. They also gave me $70 back at the end because the wiring was easier than expected. Overall excellent experience.
I went there to purchase boxes and bought 10 they were advertised at $1.63 each on sign above boxes. When it was rang it cost over $21.00. when I questioned it the kid guy working told me no they went up and are 1.99 each. He told me signs are in need of update.. Thats a HUGE price increase. I paid it but chose to just tell everybody how they do business.
I called your store to inquire about boxes I could use for shipping artwork. I spoke with Adrian who was extremely helpful and enthusiastic about the different options available to me. I highly appreciate this level of customer service and will be making a trip to purchase some boxes soon.
Rented the smallest Uhaul from here over the weekend, and they gave me an estimate of 69$. When I checked my account on Monday, they had charged me another 50$. When I called, they said we had gone over the estimated mileage by some miles, so that equated to another 50$ for some reason. I never received a receipt with actual charges, and the person I spoke to was not extremely helpful in explaining why a few extra miles meant an extra 50 dollars. Wont be returning.
Some of the worst customer service Ive seen, avoid this location. I scheduled an appointment to have a hitch installed on my car. During the week before the appointment I received several confused calls about what I was having done which I answered. Then I got a call acknowledging that I had canceled my appointment which I had never done. I called back to confirm that my appointment WAS scheduled. When I showed up I waited a very long time even though I had an appointment, only to be told that they had not ordered the part they needed to install my hitch. While I was waiting I witnessed several people who had reserved trucks be told that their trucks could not be found and those folks were left in the lurch. My appointment was rescheduled for the next weekend, and I received a confirmation call. When I arrived the 2nd time (after fighting through special event traffic) I was told the installers were not in that day and they had to cancel. They should have ordered the parts in the first place, and called me to cancel ahead of time in the second place. This seems to be a systemic problem and I would avoid this location if you want to avoid frustration!

Ive used these guys a bunch of times to rent moving equipment. I usually reserve ahead of time and they keep the truck around that I asked for. Its not too expensive. You can keep your car there while you move. The people that work there are nice enough.
Avoid this UHAUL! Theyll scam you with additional fees days after you drop a truck off and hope you dont notice. I rented a van on the 16th. Was quoted $155 after putting 100 miles and filling up the tank $30. Which I was okay with but today (20th) Im charged another daily fee of $75 cause theyre saying I rented it for two days? WTF - Go anywhere else.

This is the worst Uhaul rental location. Everyone had an attitude especially the manager. After we payed we were billed additional charges. I had the worst experience. They overcharged me. The guy (Brian) never check the truck to check the actual miles on the truck and now im getting overcharged for his mistakes!! First and last time. Would not recommend this place. I talked to 5 different people nobody can help me. Never again
Visited U-Haul rental store and two guys behind the counter were heavily engrossed on their cell phones, as I waited...waited and waited trying to rationalize their behavior. As a customer, I thought you greeted them and not shun them when approached?! It was becoming absurd and awkward, so I stepped up to one of the guys counter and said, excused me. Appearantly, someone had a bad mood and responded, youre not the only customer I am waiting on. Well, you can imagine where this story went...between his tone, attitude and passive aggressive mannerism, I felt insulted as if I didnt belong there. I wanted to rent the largest truck they had available, instead I got served with the largest discriminatory, egocentric and childish behavior from a 5 year old. No thank you, I will haul myself out of here without doing business. As a Pittsburgher, I am ashamed to have experienced this with a friend whos not from here. What could/should/would have resolved this issue, is if he simply said, I will be with you in a moment. Reporting this customer experience to the elites...someone needs a 101 customers service course taught to them. 🤔

I rented a cargo van for 5 hrs and added the insurance total with mileage $57.00. I didn’t go over the mileage that I predicted 30 miles. I went outside and the employee pulled the van up and said let’s walk around the vehicle to inspect for damage. I looked at the van did I look at a bottom bumper and a screw from a hinge NO. When I returned the van this same employee came and walked around the vehicle. He then tells me there is damage on the left rear driver side corner bumper and that a screw was missing from the top hinge of the rear door also left side. No scratches, no dents.He stated he noticed this damage when he walked up to the vehicle. I guess he did as it was from a previous incident. He stated he would have to submit the damage and the deductible for the insurance I purchased was $150.00. I did not have a accident or incident. The damage to this vehicle was minimal if at all. This so called damage was not new. He stated he wasn’t concerned bout the bumper but that missing screw was a real problem. I was charged $150.00 plus $57.00. I am appalled . They are running a real live scam. I think they do this everyday. A rub looking thing on a bottom bumper and a top screw missing from a hinge but the bottom screw was still in tact. There was no scratches between the bottom bumper and the top missing screw from the hinge. IMPOSSIBLE!! It had to have been pre existing. I will not patronize this establishment again even though they are local to my neighborhood. I am filing a dispute with my bank and may take them to small claims court. I have never experienced being a victim of a scam. You know when something just isn’t right. I read his report later and he stated there was a dent and a crack at the corner. The crack was not visible he literally pushed down on the corner to expose it. He definitely knew it was there. There was no dent.I found out this employee was the owner Kevin Smith. RENTERS BEWARE!!!! TAKE PICTURES if you risk renting from this place. There dispute arbitration process is geared to their benefit.

I was very impressed with this facility! In previous cities Ive lived in, the UHaul centers were not as nice, and I had always gone with a competitor when I was moving. After this experience I will be switching to UHaul for all my future moves. There was a huge number of vehicles to rent, the staff was very helpful and took great care of the trucks, the location is very convenient, and the parking area for customers was great. Thank you for making the hassle of moving an easy experience!
Tried to get a hitch installed. The store can be busy so calls, after a few rings, roll over to a call center. The call center rep confirmed the store had the parts and set the appointment, but when I arrived the store did not have the parts. The folks in the store are super crisp and efficient. I wish I had stopped by the store to set my appointment. Would have saved me a lot of trouble. If you want a hitch installed, I suggest you talk to one of the pros in the store - not the call center.
It was quick and easy to make a reservation. They have a variety of things you could want for moving at a reasonable price. However they did try and pin a broken window on my grandfather when the truck had already came like that and argued that he was the one who did it. You shoulf never argue with your customers if your employees was the one who didnt fully inspect the truck before handing it off.
Very rude and charged us for gas and wouldnt buy back our TV box after he said he would.... terrible customer service... would not recommend this location!

Ok were do i start i rented a truck from uhaul on Washington blvd i was told i could keep the truck longer if i needed to just call so that was fine ran into complications so i called first lady was awesome second lady named nikki was so damn rude it wasnt funny you dont talk to ppl like that what so ever...i love the place but come on now you dnt talk to ppl the way she did how was i post to know the truck was going back out at a certain time....and the guy that told me if i needed it was antwan he is a great guy thats ppl skills seriously

Terrible service. Wait 20 minutes for someone to fill a propane tank after being told someone would be out to do so. Counted 4 people working. No response. I left without filling.
