I have had the best experience in this AutoZone. Went in last week (July 2021) to buy a replacement battery for a Ford Transit and the employee Paco was extremely helpful. An example of kindness and professionalism: he was helpful in changing the battery at no extra cost even though the battery was located in an extremely difficult to reach spot. He helped out with patience and I really appreciated it. Thanks Paco

Visited 3 times, First time told my battery looks fine, second time visited around 7.15 PM. Closing time was 8PM and told its closing time, third time they told it is complex and they are not capable of doing it. My car battery located and top can be changed easily. I tried to speak to chat on website before going, they also dont know whether they are capable of doing it or not and suggested me to visit even after providing every detail of my car. Total time waste. EDIT - Visited other well known store, they changed it in 5 min.

The customer service is AWFUL! The old gray haired associate was not interested in helping me at all. He ignored me and went outside to smoke a cigarette. The overweight middle aged cashier was a very pushy salesman. No class at all. Dont waste your time at this place. I would give zero stars if it were possible.

I came to this store twice for returning a bad car battery and just couldnt get a very simple thing correct here. The battery was purchased in the summer of 2016 and went bad this month. It is prorated under a five-year warranty and there was still about a year left in the warranty, which meant a refund of about $30. Okay, this part is simple enough and both me and the store agreed on it. Now comes the fun part - the core charge. In my first visit, the store worker insisted that they dont refund the core charge and told me that I only have two choices - either take the $30 or take the battery back, no matter how clearly I explained the charge to him. He was either saying that was what his manager told him or asking me do you work here? Oh, geez!So I made a second trip to the store today and talked to another store worker. The guy told me that he knew the case and he is the manager of the guy I talked to last time. Uh-oh. He also refused to refund the core charge and what he kept saying is we cant refund the core twice. I told him there is no twice. Say, if I purchase a new battery now, I have to pay the price of the battery AND the core charge. Assume a few years later the warranty already expired, I return this battery to you and you still have to refund me the core charge. Then he said that because last time when purchasing the new battery, I brought my old battery in and I was not charged the core fee. I explained that I was indeed charged but I paid it with my old battery instead of cash or credit card. Then that means the core was already refunded with your old battery last time, so we cant refund you again this time. he responded. Geez, what kind of logic this is!A few minutes later I was already in the AutoZone store in downtown Livermore. Within another couple of minutes, I got both the battery refund and the core charge refund in hand. Im just amazed with those store employees who can screw a thing that is so routine and so simple. So what is a core charge? The core charge is actually a deposit charged in addition to the batterys price, which is a way designed to encourage people to return used batteries (for refund of the deposit).

Before I get to this 1 star review, the one major exception to my experience was the really excellent sales associate, Hamza, who was so kind and helpful and trying his best to get us a good deal and help out. Then his manager (a large grey haired, perpetually disgruntled man) came over, who hilariously had something about excellent customer service pinned to his vest. He condescendingly spoke to both his employee and us, pretending that the minutia of the autozone battery warranty was the bible and it was blasphemous for us to not have it memorized by heart. He belittled the employee, and then when we decided not to take the coupon as we had a better deal on a new battery at Costco, he yelled us out the door. Poor Hamza was still kind and embarassed, waved us out sheepishly. I feel bad for him having to spend time with such a big fish in a small autozone attitude and mean man and hope none of his manager rubs off on him. I dont not recommend this autozone (i hear theyre usually pretty great), but if you see a stout, old white angry man, turn around and run to costco!

When I asked him to wear it correctly over his mouth and nose, he said he wasn’t worried about it and refused. I look it up online and give him his own part number. They didnt have it so he puts me on hold for 5 minutes to walk around and still found nothing. If you want tire shine or car wax, this is your spot. If you want to actually fix your car, plan on going to a real auto parts store.

They were clueless, I ended up buying the chains from OReilly in Dublin and next time I need a battery Ill just go to batteries+

I called the store before coming in for a new battery, I wanted to be sure there would be someone available to install. I spoke with Edgar who was helpful and advised they could help. When I arrived at the store, Edgar had gone to lunch. The man at the counter, Eugene, advised smugly that Edgar wouldnt be helping me anyway and that the tech has 2 customers in front of me, stating its going to be awhile. I said that I didnt mind waiting but asked about how long, to which he replied however long it takes him in quite the condescending tone. I then tried to reiterate that I didnt mind waiting but was trying to get an idea... would it be 45 mins.. 2 hours.. 4 hours. I just wanted to know so I could make proper arrangements to get a ride if needed, as my car wasnt cranking because of a completely dead battery and I was stuck in their parking lot. He still wouldnt answer my question. He began looking up my car battery info in an exacerbated manner. He then answered the phone, and after hanging up the receiver proceeded to mock the customer on the other end of the call for the questions he had asked. His demeanor made me extremely uncomfortable. I asked him if he was having a bad day, to which he answered in a way as to justify his condescending attitude toward me that he was extremely busy. At this point he answered the phone again, and I took the opportunity to walk out of the store. The tech, Hank D, who was outside helping other customers could see that I was visibly upset and stated he could help me in just a few moments if I didnt mind waiting. Thankfully, I stayed and waited for Hank to help me. He was courteous and knowledgeable, he offered to jump my car battery so that I could leave if I wanted to as well as offered to do the transaction himself so that I could get my battery issue fixed then and there. I took him up on his offer, and he was able to finish the transaction and install my battery with no further problems. Not everyone has extensive knowledge of cars and auto parts, and therefore are in need of more guidance and service. So I would imagine customer service should be of the utmost importance to management running an auto parts store in which the parts are a dime a dozen at any auto part shop. But Eugenes attitude was disrespectful and inappropriate. Although Hank was extremely helpful and kind, AND THE ONLY reason Im rating the store 2 stars instead of 1, I will surely be taking my business elsewhere for any auto part needs in the future and encourage you to do so too if you would like to avoid a similar inappropriate experience.

Stopped by to check my battery b/c dash lights were on, one of which was battery. They tested my battery and alternator, and told me the battery was bad. I paid $160 to replace it. I literally could not start my car and hard to them get towed to the nearby dealership ($200) and get the real problem fixed - a $10 fuse. With the service fee from the dealership to evaluate the issue, this Autozone ended up costing me about $500 for a $10 fix. Do not recommend ever.

Do not go there to check your battery! I took my car on Sunday to have it checked. A new battery was bought in Autozone half an year ago. The guy just checked it with his electronic thing and said it says good battery. He then suggests that it could be a starter problem. I ask if he can help to jump the car, he says oh, Im going to lunch, ask someone else. Some guy walks by claiming to be a mechanic and his friend who also was a seller comes out and both confirm the same issue and suggest to buy a starter and take it to the service. While buying the starter, I ask him if external warranty can cover it since I already have one. My mistake was not calling first, so I still bought per his recommendation. The other mechanic guy was nice enough to jump the car even though he really didnt know that these Autozone guys dont even properly check batteries, so he just recommended to take to the shop. Next day, the real mechanic says its a battery problem. You gonna have to go back and ask them to install a new one. I decided not to go to the same store but elsewhere. Pretty much forced them to do comprehensive check and have them install a new one with 3 year warranty. Terrible service at this particular store. Never come back!

Update, Andrew did not last long at all so now it’s a just good place to buy oil And if you’re lucky they might have the particular budget oil filter or brake pads / rotors that you’re looking for. it’s just a typical DIY parts chain store that sells limited lower quality car parts. For professionals and independent shops, There are very few high quality auto parts stores or chains left like NAPA auto parts.Original post: Andrew Was very cordial and helpful getting the brake parts I needed for my Mini Cooper. They appear very good quality compared to OEM work great with no noise. Easy Bay BMW mini price gougers around the corner cost was more than twice as much.

The older gentleman here (I assume the manager?) was extremely rude and unhelpful. Most Autozones I go to a very willing to help out or even pull an owners manual to check youre getting the right item. This Autozone only had one person in it and the guy just said, we dont carry anything hybrid related. Very mean tone too. I did some research in my owners manual and the internet... Yes they had what I needed. It was in the back of the store. The younger gentleman I caught while searching found it for me and was very nice. He is the only reason I didnt give this place a one star.Seriously, Autozone of Pleasanton, I know it was a little early but you dont need to be rude to customers. We arent all 100% versed in auto lanuage, that is why we look to you guys. If I knew more about cars I would probably just order everything online. Cheaper and less hassle. Retail survives on customer experience alone.
