Big changes!!! Just got off of the phone with the store. WOW, great customer service.
Since they recently opened under new ownership, and with the pandemic going on. They have been slowly but surely getting the shelves stocked back up. I have been in there quite a few times, and have been able to get what I needed every time.
Just getting started but a much needed place for pet products, tools, gardening
Ive been in here several times in the last few weeks looking for FR clothing I ask a manager and made a suggestion about keeping a good stock of them since they have a plant close by that requires them and she replied that shes worked there a long time and there district manager wont do it
Love the polite carry out service
Helpful staff glad to have this store reopened
Not the same place that it was when it was Big R. I love the smells and pace of a farm store. I like buying my garden plants at such places. However, their stock is not nearly what it was in years past. It does not appear that they are keeping up their inventory under the new ownership as they have in times past. I will continue to shop there occasionally as needed, but if things dont improve, I fear their ability to stay in business long term. UPDATE: Indeed Stock & Field went out of business, but the store is under new management as R. P. Home & Harvest. Time will tell if the new owners will do better. As of now, they have struggled to be adequately stocked (but so have other stores in the Covid era).
Walked in last minute to buy some boots. Young lady handed me a $10 gift card. I picked out some boots and checked out forgetting about the gift card. Im sure the cashier knows about the gift card, and it would have been nice had she reminded me or even just taken the 10 bucks off. Pretty much sums up retail anymore, which is why people just go online.
Everything youll need to complete your home projects
Prices are high on old stock store hasnt changed a bit
They have more inventory than the Morris location but still quite thin. They seem to be phasing out Carhartt brand anything, very limited supply of clothing, but a pretty good selection of animal products and hunting accessories. The store was clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Want much there yet. Still had a lot of mdse. on back order.
Very good there going out of business bit there were great to have around .
If I could select 0 stars I would. Shelves are always empty and tonight, had something new happen. Theyre credit card machine wouldnt read not 1 but 3 of my cards! Staff refused to manually enter my card number but revealed their system is capable of manual card entry but they refused to do so. Theyve lost my business for good coz clearly they dont want my business.
Very nice place
Did not have 2 pvc
Looks to have been recently remodeled and updated. Store was spacious and clean, staff was friendly. Prices are a good value.
Everything is on sale better get there before its too late
Store is looking so much better from a year ago ammo is short but other stores are to more organized than they used to be costermer service is a lot better keep up the improvements
Staff friendly, had what I was looking for but slim selection and lot of bare space .
Its closing, but you can still find good deals.
This store is horrible they cant even sell a no label item to a customer that found it on the website for 14 dollars for 3! he would pay that for just one!!!!!! 2 star for nice layout
Sad to see it closing. Still a fair amount of useful products available
This business replaced Big R. The new owners have allowed the store to run out of many items, which they are not replacing. Everyone I have spoken to agrees about the stocking problem. We miss Big R. We hope the new owners make changes. On the bright side, I purchased two huge potted geraniums, which are doing extremely well in my front yard.
Not sure whats up with the name change but they are still the same store with great products and good prices and nice staff.
Incredible crafty store to get working supplies, or even everyday clothes
It used to be a decent store when it was Big R.Now theres barely anything stocked there. The store is overpriced anyways but now the selections are terrible. Its like the new Managment their have no clue how to make orders for the store
They r not all that great like big r was i dnt care for the stock an field of pontice
Big R was fine. Stock n field cant keep anything stocked, ironically. Tool and gun selection is decent for a small town
Dont matter going out of business
The stars are for the employees, I had gone into the store just after they opened.I hope everyone understands some items will not be in stock due to many factors: follow the news about layoffs, shortages in factories, the reasons can go on and on, for store shelves being empty in the store. Plus, there has been the hording factor for many different items you wouldnt even think will be horded. Lastly, THANKS to ALL staff working, all of you I spoke to in the store the day I was there was helpful and friendly.Stock + Field of Pontiac, My review was based on the idea the company had plans to keep the store open.I feel as though the company threw mud in my face, when I told the Public to be patient, youre just restocking shelves.Ill sit back and watch to see what happens, or if the company blames it on COVID and the economy.Plus the employees I mentioned, or all of them, will they be unemployed like everyone across USA?Ill see, if its been opened for an equal type company/store, or one the town needs. I know personally our farmers will miss a decent farm store, so will my family.
Good store. You can find almost everything: from gardening clothes, animal food, tool to guns! Staff very nice and helpful
I have never left a 1 star review for any establishment, never ever. Stock and Field is going out of business and I will leave it at that.It sure isnt Big R anymore.
The place dont impress me anymore. Every time that I go there for something specific, they are out of stock. I have heard this story repeated time and time again in conversation. I liked the old name Big R, but will take my business elsewhere until they get their stock levels back up or close the doors permanently.I have read interviews about the stock issues being related to COVID19. That is simply not the case. The inventory issues started after they changed names.June 2021Stock & Field closed their doors, sold the business to RP Lumber, and are now open again. I will update again after I go for a shopping visit.
Thats a great place! Hate to see it closing
Awful!!! So much out of stock as usual, almost a worthless place to shop anylonger. Thanks for driving a great store (BigR) into the toilet!!! Empty shelves, empty hardware bins... just sad!!
No stock, empty shelves. Did not even have cracked corn.
Clearance sale going on. Cashier very slow
Never been there
Use to be Big R great place but now Stock + field the shelves are empty!!!
This is my go-to store when I need fuel Plumbing issues lets go this is the place to go I love it
Good tool selection. Lite on ammo but thats anywhere right now.
Rating it a 2 start solely because they changed the name from.Big R to Stock and feild the new name is just to much to say in my opinion but otherwise a great store!!
Found what I needed, but the shelves are pretty bare.
Prices are higher even though it has the board closing sale.
I like the place, too bad theyre going out of business.
Jim Cleary is one of the best small engine techs around. Always a pleasure doing business with him.
Did not have what I needed. Pool supplies like covers not available today. Prices on chemical very high. Not a place to shop unless money is no object. One star rating.
Close out 40%. Many things not marked down 40%
Not well stocked yet
Now they have filed for bankruptcy. Closing in March.
Great place to find this & that!Pretty, young ladies working there.
I was also disappointed in this store. My last visit was the second in a row that the wildbird feed area was not stocked. The self serve bins were mostly empty. I came in for safflower seed. None anywhere! The packaged seeds didnt offer that product either. AND by the way who would pay $6.50 for a jar of mayonaise?I will try the Morris location next. Hope Im not disappointed.
Products are kind of low at the moment but still like their friendliness and clean store.
Prices are not whats on the tags
Now out of business, stay tuned for new business at this site
Purchased a gun and was told to come after 4:30 pm on saturday. Showed up an hour before the store closed... and was told by the manager of the store than the guy that works at the gun case left 5 min previous and he is the only one that can release the gun! Online states the store is open until 9pm and nothing about gun department leaving early.
They always have the corn I want for my squirrels but the employees could be nicer
Two times in the past 30 days I have come to this store to buy cat littler, but they were out of stock. I can only use scent free litter and this is one of the few stores that carry it. They advertise items on sale, but this store sometimes doesnt have the items and doesnt offer rain checks. This store has a major logistics problem with keeping items in stock. I have to drive 15 miles to shop at this store and hate to waste a trip.
My favorite department store in town
Use to be a good store now they dont keep anything in stock, doesnt seem like they get anything new in they might as well close the doors!! Shame was a good store
Nice place . Good stuff. Prices average.
Place might as well close shelfs dang near empty
Stopped carrying the only kind of dog food that doesnt drive my dogs allergies wild. Been buying it there for almost 5 years, now its gone. Based on recent reviews it seems a lot of mistakes were made in this name change only phase
We drive 17 miles to the Pontiac store, mostly for pet supplies. Usually a $100 trip every month or so. The last 3 months weve left empty handed and traveled to Bloomington. A lot of empty shelves and no one knows when they will be restocked. Took a walk thru the store and saw empty and understocked items everywhere. Whole departments moved just for the sake of moving them I guess. Was in need of a new garage heater, so I called the Pontiac store and was told none of the model I needed were in stock. Drove to the Streator store and got what I needed, a 90 mile trip. Forgot an item, so stopped in Pontiac on the way home. Walked by the heater rack, and there set 4 of the heaters, covered in dust, that I had been told the day before were out of stock. We wont be back to the Pontiac store.
Very good store with big selection of products. Prices are competitive with a senior discount offered. Plenty of parking. Good location and adequate help for shoppers.
There is literally hardly anything on the shelves....If you looking for something specific you might want to go elsewhere
Prices are to high on pretty much everything!
This is my place for stuff I cant find most other places. Like bags of good cheap organic top soil.. and heavy duty swivel hooks.. Wheel barrow wheel inner-tubes. And the staff oboe where most of this stuff is right away.
Great store for much of your needs from clothes to feed to pet gear as well as housewears and tools/hardware. Would be 5 stars if they had longer hours in the summer
They never restock the place the running joke in town people call it no stock
Same ol Big R (great quality service and selection) just a new name!
I went for 5 items. I found 2. I could get nobody to help me find a rain gauge. One clerk gave me the wrong aisle. The second one said he didnt know. Sad experience!
Enjoy shopping here! Always find items that I need for every season.
Good place if in need of something fast, prices are high. Most farm and yard things available here. Higher prices for convenience.
Its going out of business!
Shelfs empty, no longer carry science diet dog food, sporting goods depleted. Amazon may have a new customer😲
When this place was Big R it was great. Now that it has changed ownership it has gone from great to bad. The store is not being stocked, product selection has gone way down, many employees have left. The pet section, which used to be one of the best in the area, is worse than Walmart. Too bad, Pontiac lost a great store. We are doing business elsewhere.
My husband loves the tools
A gentleman named Allan was very helpful in the paint department. Helped me find the right implement paint and primer that my son needed. Friendly and knowledgeable.
Its not bad if your upper class and can afford the high prices
Doesnt have home defence for insects
Prices much higher than big r was.wil shop other places.tractor supply ECT.
Great but mo is e items in stock when it was big r
The shelves are all empty. Theres no stock
Terrible customer service. Looking around for 15 minutes for a purchase. 3 salesmen in area and they continue talking to each other. Finally i approached one of them to inquire if they had what i wanted in stock beside the rack model which was not boxed and had 1 of the keys bent for the lock. It took them 1/2 hour to tell me that the rack model was all they had but they straightened out the bent key. I tried the key in the lock and it broke. He lets out a big oh no.I told him i didnt want their junk and walked out.Customer service is always bad. Most likely wont be back there.
Ever since stock and field took over...they dont have anything in stock. The gun department is a joke since JJ and JR left.
Ive shopped here with my wife a few times the passed month weve lived here. After Wednesday the 9th, well never be back. Shopped around the garden center at 6pm. Got ignored for a half hour by 2 employees. After we finally got help, she was super rude and told me I cant read. We were looking at a box of trellises clearly marked Bad and damaged. I asked if we could buy some for a project my wife has going. She said she didnt know what they were there for, theyre fine and that we didnt know how to read. Ok, so she lost the sale of the whole skid. Then we look at plants. Most are dying or clearly not doing well. My wife (shes the pro) offered to buy at a discount. Got rudely told by same woman theyre fine and she doesnt know what shes talking about. Another lost sale. Then we go inside to pay for our hundreds of pounds of soil. Waited another 15 minutes at the counter while one employee was hitting on the cashier.. ignoring us. When they finally decided to pay attention, they too were rude. Im livid after the amount Ive spent there recently. Im buying my wife a revolver for our anniversary coming up and Ill go to the Big R in Morris where they appreciate my business, even though its out of my way.
Very nice people they take you to the Isle and fins it for you
Great place for farm supplies, automotive, home supplies, clothing, Firearms and fishing equipment.
Great deals
Always has what I need at a competitive price.
U went to 2 S&F stores and they still didnt have what i needed and the employees couldnt answer my question they seem to be as lost as I was
Sorry to see that you have to close
They let us in right before they were going to close. The employees were friendly. They were out of basic dog food, and couldnt tell us when more was expected in. I wanna like this place, but the way its managed is making it hard...
They need to hire people who know what there selling instead of saying just a minute I will go get someone who can help u and then that person shows up and says same thing
This stock and field is worse now than ever before. They are always out of stock on items. The Morris store is just as bad.should be called OUTTA STOCK AND FIELD. Very disappointed.
Nice prices I really enjoy the free popcorn gives the kids something to do instead of touching everything! Nice selection for animals you can buy bulk without those crazy bulk prices.
