I will truly hate to see Sephora inside JC Penny go. Especially since Alyssa is a huge help every time I go. I tell her what I’m looking for and she makes the best recommendations ever. I’m always satisfied with the products and never have to return anything that she suggests. Absolutely love her and this store!
Dirty store! All out of product and the ones that are available are expired. Not to mention Alyssa’s attitude problem. So rude to my elderly mother and I, already called HR about her. She also got mad we didn’t want a credit card and rolled her eyes. Definitely will drive the distance to avoid this place.
My visit to Sephora didn’t start out the best, but then I was assisted by Alyssa and Chase and they turned it all around. They are most sweet and kind people I’ve met in a while. They made my shopping experience enjoyable and comfortable. I highly recommend asking for one of them on your next visit!!

I never write reviews especially a bad one, and I always shop at this location, the ladies there are always so sweet and helpful. However walking in this time I noticed someone I hadn’t seen before, the young girls name was Paige. I walked in several other customers were in the store and I noticed she was behind the register on her phone ignoring the customers, while another associate was helping everyone else in the store. I asked her if she can help me with a foundation and she hardly said anything to me. She made me feel like I was bothering her and was no help at all. So I ended up asking the other young lady for help she was very pleasant and matched me to a foundation. However Paige walked to us interrupting our conversation and correcting and belittling everything the associate was helping me with. Making her look like she didn’t know what she was talking about. It was very unprofessional, rude and just embarrassing how she spoke to the other associate. It made it so uncomfortable and awkward for us.. How associate Paige has so many positive reviews on here is very questioning to me.. very unprofessional how she talked down to the other associate. Even two other customers overheard it as well. I still love this store and the other girls there, however I hope to shop when Paige isn’t there. That was the worst and most unprofessional customer service I ever experienced.
I wish I could give negative stars. The customer service at this location is awful! I went there in my lunch break to get foundation and was never offered help even though there were multiple associates in the store. Then I stood in line waiting to be checked out for 15 minutes while the associate at the register had a never ending conversation with the person in front of me. I finally ended up putting my items back and leaving. I will never shop at this location again.
The associate Di is in the wrong field!! Her disposition is nasty and she even treats her co-workers like trash. I have seen her speak to customers and other employees like they are beneath her. Not cool Sephora!
I’ve always had great experiences at this Sephora every associate is usually great at this location. However today I had the absolute rudest and worst customer service I’ve ever had from an associate Alyssa. She purposely ignored me when I had questions, seemed extremely annoyed with me, and made me feel like I shouldn’t of been in the store. It was also hard not to think it was a racial thing as she helped the white customers with a smile while ignoring me and talking to me like I was stupid. Hoping to return to the store when she is not working so I can’t actually get the products I need.
I wasnt expecting a great deal when I went in the store as they are following CDC regulations and providing samples is non-existent. The sales rep who approached me seemed literally half the age of this mid-forties educator.I havent worn make up since March and was looking for a change. In the past, I havent had much luck in quality assistance from a sales representative, but this time was different!!!Paige hit the target center on every recommendation she made. She has a unique ability to listen and relate to the customer and know exactly what they want even when they arent sure. She made foundation, concealer, eye liner, and application suggestions of which I love.She educated me while making the sale in a non-pushy, professional way. If you go to Sephora JcPenny in Port Charlotte, ask for Paige!
Extremely pleased with this amazing team! A special thank you to Paige for helping the typical boyfriend find everything he needed for his significant other. She was so kind and helpful I will definitely be returning and asking for Paige!
I have been to the Sephora at JCPENNEY location on two different occasions and each time Alyssa helped me. She was kind, respectful, & really great at helping me because she offered me a sanitized basket and talked to me about Olaplex while I was looking to buy those products. She told me about her personal experience with the products and about the Sephora Salon in JCPENNEY.The second time I went she was even more helpful, if that even possible to describe! I have a hard time finding my shade for foundation but I really wanted to try Selena Gomez’s Rare collection. I’m standing there looking at pictures of shades not know what I’m doing and patiently waiting my turn because she was with another customer at the time and she made the attempt to help me immediately after she was available. She recognized me and helped me find an option that perfectly matched my medium/dark complexion. I kept mentioning the other makeup items that I needed such as a dark black eyeliner, translucent setting powder, and I really wanted to try the All nighter Urban Decay spray. She was really patient with me even though I arrived within 10mins of closing time.I remembered that I kept thinking about the Sephora Salon and after I checked out I remembered that I had more questions for her about the salon. She answered all my questions, so here’s a big THANK YOU TO ALYSSA!I called the Sephora Salon to make my appointment for tomorrow 10/1/2020 and I mentioned that Alyssa helped me learn about the fact that they even had a salon. (I had no clue)
Love this place. The employees are always so friendly and knowledgeable which goes miles in my book. Great company doing great things and it really shows with local store in PC. Thank you.
Extremely rude customer service. I was also color matched and the woman Di who did it was clearly un educated in makeup and tried to sell me a foundation that turned me ghost white! Definitely won’t be returning to this location.
I shopped here earlier this month after not shopping here for a while and noticed the store is much cleaner and more organized than it’s been in the past. The staff was helpful and I’ll be back!

I’ve never had a bad experience at this location in-spite of some negative reviews I’ve seen. If I’ve asked to try something the staff has always happily prepared a sample for me and shown me how to use it. Same with returns, rare occasions, but it’s not been an issue. My only gripe with Sephora in general is their points system. I wish they did them the way Ulta does
Theyre always out of stock on everything! Extremely understaffed. Went there the other day and there were only 2 people working. Was trying to get help with foundations and other products. Waited over 20 minutes and when one of the workers was free she seemed really rushed and like she didnt want to help at all. It was only like 10:30 am and they were just opening. Not to mention the lighting is WAY off in there, not sure if its every store or just that one, but the lighting was SO BAD that I picked the wrong shade of foundation because in more natural lighting its like 2 shades darker than what I would normally wear. That has happened twice to me in that store only when trying different foundations. Its the bad lighting, which makes your complexion look off or different. Not really looking forward to exchanging it. And its not like theres enough staff there to help me either...so i may just return it altogether and go to Ulta down the road.
Customer service was very helpful. They Gave me a few samples, love my birthday gift. Will be back, soon:)
Horrible customer service. Staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. One sales associate acted as if I was bothering her when politely saying “excuse me” while she was talking with a coworker and not engaging with the many customers in the store. Not to mention they were out of pretty much everything. Never going back.
Not sure if its because its Monday but not one person who works here bothered to offer help. They greeted other people that came in and it was just me and one other customer for a while . I didnt go in there for nothing obviously I went in there to spend $$$ on new makeup but ended up not getting anything. Its not just bad customer service but Im convinced its also because I go in with a stroller and 2 other young children (which are well behaved also) but based on my experience with makeup stores they ignore women like me because they are all cliche-ish and prefer to give their attention to women who go in alone as if mothers dont deserve the same attention too. Us younger mothers are also interested in beauty and good products too and when we go in somewhere its to get what we need and leave before the kids get fussy so the extra help is appreciated. Not only were the staff too busy talking to each other but also sitting in the chairs where I was supposed to be seated while its would of been nice to find that perfect concealer and foundation and whatever else so you lost my business and obviously all the other clients that go through the same treatment. Theres a huge difference when I go with a stroller and without, and this is not right. Never stepping foot in there again until better friendlier not-lazy people are hired.
I have been to this location several times now and I always receive great customer service! Every associate Ive met has been courteous, friendly, and helpful.
I have been in this Sephora multiple times and typically find the staff to be rude and uneducated on their products and return policy. Trying to make a return and they told me it was not possible. While in the store, I called Sephora customer service and was told I could make the return at this location, all they (Sephora inside JCP) needed to do was call. It is embarrassing and sad that normal Sephoras encourage customers to play, experience, and sample, but this store treats all customers as if they are scum and not worth their time or effort. I’d rather drive to Coconut Point or shop online than deal with the SA’s attitude and incompetence at this location.
Horrible, incompetent from the staff to Managers On Duty in JCP as well as the overall manager of JCP. BEWARE they push the rewards card as a REWARDS CARD not as a credit card...it is a CREDIT CARD with VERY high interest. You do not find out until after. The overall JCP manager is not accommodating and claims to not be able to do anything.(powerless). Then I have read further on google through reddit this is a common practice. Where is competence today?
The sales people at this location are completely incompetent and rude. Im a frequent Sephora customer and I will NEVER visit this location again.
