Everyone there was very helpful, and knowledgeable about the products. I had a upgraded security/remote start installed to my car and everything works great, very convenient for those mornings when your running a bit late. Car is up to temperature and its nice and warm as you step into your car. Would highly recommend.

Pros:Had a good experience with the woman who helped me pick out a new head unit and back up camera. Maybe store manager knocked some money off which I appreciated.Cons: I think the kid who worked on my car was probably like 18 and brand new. Scratched up the inside of the car, installed the camera wrong, left a couple of loose wires hanging around the brake pedal. Just low very low quality work.

So I brought in my own head unit to be installed... first they said 125$ maybe 150$ depending on what happens... I was cool with that so I dropped my car off and then they call me and say the brand new unit I supplied doesn’t work and wanted to sell me one of theirs.... now the bill would be closer to 600$. For a lesser quality one than I brought in... I ended up having them put it back together to my stock set up and they said it will be 225$ now... which I was reluctantly okay with. I got there and it ended up being 270. Extra 45$ for parts... what parts? They just put my stock set up back in. Terrible rude workers and trying to rip you off every chance they get. So I got them to take the parts off the bill and still paid 225$ and they didn’t even put my dash all the way back together. Would NOT recommend to anyone for ANY service

Just had my car detailed here. I have your typical mom-wagon and it needed some help! Bailey did a really great job on my car both inside and out. No sign of the child funk that was once all over my car. Bailey was professional and pleasant to work with. I’d definitely go back to her for a detail with her again!

They seemed pretty nice and told me multiple times that my installation would take a couple hours at most. Now after getting off the phone with them Im being told it wont be done for a couple more hours totalling 5-6 hours on something everywhere online says should take 1-2 hours max; Im assuming they havent even started the install yet, 3 hours after Ive dropped my vehicle off.. I had an appointment for this all to take place as well, so needless to say Im not happy with this experience..

When you say “free install”, you should perform a FREE install. Not, free from an “installation fee” and then tack on labor, hours, and god knows what other “fees” to the bill that are all technically all part of the “installation”. Especially when all your products are marked way up compared to online. I gave an extra star because the install seems to be done nicely. Except they installed the microphone dead center in front of my dash info screen, so I could read any of the information on it. Had them fix that before I left, which was appreciated. Overall very expensive, all the products are all marked way up compared to others places. I’d suggest to just buy the products yourself and have them install it if you want the convenience and professional install. Or get on YouTube which is what I should have done. 🤷‍♂️

Had car toys install an alarm system on my 90 Toyota pickup, they did a phenomenal job with install. pricing was great and the install was quick, dropped the truck off in the morning came back to pick it up later in the afternoon they were very careful with my truck which speaks a lot about their customer service and their care for customers cars. would recommend these guys for electrical install on any of your vehicles.

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF SOME HEADACHE. DONT GO HERE!!!Had them put a new Kenwood touch screen deck in my 4runner. Chose to use these guys because my regular store that Ive always used had a 3 week wait... shouldve waited. I had no problems with the stock stereo but my wife wanted a shiny new upgrade, and after the install there was no sound coming out of the speakers. I asked the guy when I picked it up what the problem was and he said the wiring was bad in the car and he would have to rewire the whole dash. He told me he didnt know how much it would cost or how long it would take, also didnt know how soon he could start working on it and told me he estimates a few days. I was so mad that I just left... paid almost $900 for a stereo that doesnt work. I shouldnt say it doesnt work, the display works fine, theres just no sound coming out of the speakers. They also broke the clip that holds the heater/ac to the dash so it rattles now. Went from no problems to many problems with one visit to car toys. They definitely arent the better way to go

Better transparency with your invoice and a clear explanation of it. After installation I went through the final invoice and was shocked by the installation amounts. I did call to get an explanation but the fact of the matter remains the same, confusing invoice that no-one can understand and the explanation seemed rehearsed as if this has happened before.. There were multiple installation charges and then three larger charges to three different installers. If I would have seen that and had it explained to me up front, I would have walked away. No-one initially went through the invoice/quote with me, lien by line. I called in to talk to Robert and he went through it all but that did not provide me clarity. I feel taken advantage of but lesson learned on my end. Trusty BUT verify. I wont be back and anyone that asks me for a car audio referral, Car toys will NOT be mentioned. I will be posting multiple reviews on other social media platforms so customers clearly understand what they are purchasing. No offer was made to me to make this right. No partial refunds, nothing. A very disappointing experience.

I purchased a detailing package with Groupon. It seemed like, because of this I wasnt given the best service. They missed two different cupholders. The front area looked liked they had sprayed cleaner on it then forgot to wipe it. The windshield looks like they used a dirty rag to clean it. In the sun you can see smears all over it.I get that I didnt buy the the most expensive package but I still expected everything to be wiped down properly.

I cant begin to say how disappointed I am in Car Toys. Our previous experience with a car stereo was okay, but I wouldnt recommend their detailing services to my worst enemy. I wont ever give them my business again. To me, detailing a car means deep cleaning with attention to details that the average person misses. With that in mind heres my Car Toys Experience:A family member received a Groupon for detailing at Car Toys as a gift, so she recently took her car to their Portland/Hayden Island location. It turned out to be a waste of time, and there were red flags right from the beginning. First, they couldnt find her appointment in their system after she drove over a half hour to get there. (Although they did manage to fit her into the schedule if she would leave the car for six hours.) Then they informed her that the pricey $99 Groupon package only included wiping down the interior, vacuuming, cleaning the windows and running an ozone odor eliminator for 30 minutes. They tried to upsell her on additional services: $44 for steam cleaning the carpet and $88 for leather seat conditioner. She finally opted for steam cleaning and prepaid the additional $44. They said the seats would still be wiped down as part of the package.When she picked it up she couldnt see that they had done more than vacuum and run a damp rag over some of the interior. She said she could have done better herself, even in a hurry. The carpets were still stained and there was still dirt, dust and spots all over the interior - showing that they hadnt been touched. The windows hadnt been cleaned and there was no hint that they had used the ozone deodorizer included with the package.All of this was shown to the manager and detailer who agreed they had missed spots. To their credit, they offered to go over it again, but at that point she needed her car back and didn’t feel safe leaving it with them for fear of retaliation for the complaint.Bottom line: Save your money. Find an actual detailer who really does what he or she promises.

The service I received from Rob was second to none. Music has forever been my outlet and I came to him basically describing a feeling I wanted. I had no idea how to get that feeling, I simply knew what I wanted to feel.When my truck was done and I came to pick it up, I was nervous. He had me get in the truck and play a few songs. Then he told me to close my eyes and just listen. What happened next I can barely describe. I threw my hands into the air and screamed “that’s it. Omg that’s it, you nailed it!” I had tears in my eyes. My husband had tears in his eyes. I needed this outlet and Rob truly could not have done it better.I cried the whole way home while listening to music. I needed this even more than I realized, and it’s become my simple escape. When I need a release I jump in my truck and go for a drive.I came in asking for what I feared was the impossible and I left happier than I’ve ever been. Thank you so much!

Like the other reviews say, DO NOT get your car detailed here. I paid 200$ and got my car back like this. its an old car- definitely not expecting perfection, but this is not detailed. Manager asked for photos to train his staff better, but did not offer to redo it or a give me a refund. Edit- ended up saying they would do a refund if i upped the review to 3 stars

I have purchased items from 2 other Car Toys locations in the past and had good experiences, but these guys at the Hayden Island location, really went above and beyond.Travis really took care of me. I told him what I was thinking about for a system, and he set me up with the perfect package. I couldnt be happier. The install guys were fantastic too. Everything is nice and clean and is perfectly tuned. I highly recommend them. I know that I will definitely be back.. Thanks again guys!

I have used this location of car toys over the years for many things from car detailing, radio installing, car alarm installation. After today I will NEVER return to this location. Staff was rude had to want over 15 minutes to even be acknowledge for check in or needs which I had a 10 Am appointment with a ride waiting. I know it takes a bit to check however all they could say the 2 men at the counter was that there was they had a long line and if I had suggestions or a way to shortened the line or it I could. When I stated it had been 20 minutes the second employee said that they had not even been open 20 minutes and it was 10:20. Due to attitudes I did not feel safe leaving my car with people who were respectful to me. I left and will have my service completed at another location. As for suggestions In fact I would suggest if you have customers make appointments I would suggest you have a way to acknowledge those customers thst enter with appointments and be able to then provide check in service in a timely manner. Which could be to increase staff or alter scheduling of appointments.

Got my stereo done here but when I got home it stopped working came back that day talked to the guy. When I started to talk to the guy he started arguing with me. He kept on telling me it was my fault I did something wrong to the stereo to make it stop working the guy said hes been working for 20 plus years and never messed up. guy told me I was a liar. This argument went on for about 3 days I kept on coming back and the guy kept arguing with me finally called a different cartoys and told him what was going on. They finally got the other car toys to agree to look at what was going on and end up being the guys fault he did something wrong to the stereo. Never coming back here again.

What ever you do, do not take your car to car toys in jantzen beach to be detailed. Worst experience ever. They didnt vacuum clean the seats, or vacuum the trunk. Mind you I just got an interior detail not an exterior. 2 employees said how horrible it was but still wouldnt refund my money. No manager to talk too. What a joke terrible!!!

Put ALL parts and hardware BACK WHERE THEY BELONG when the job is completed and DONT touch things that are not necessary when you are asked NOT to. Work done on my previous vehicle was awesome! no complaints. Now a new set of staff did work on a new vehicle and I had complaints about all my weather sensitive items from the cab being tossed in the bed and left for me to put back as well as screws left out of place and a trim piece I had to put back into place. I do plan to return for my next upgrade but I will plan to stay and watch like a hawk that care is taken when handling my vehicle next time.

Had a great customer service experience! All the staff was super friendly and helpful. Got a system for my wife’s SUV and we needed to retain the current screens. Robert the sales guy did an amazing job working us into the schedule since we were a walk In. After the system was installed Robert took the time to go over the new system and all it’s features with my wife. I can’t remember the installers name but he did an amazing job and he worked super fast to get it done as quickly as possible. The install looks clean and everything works like it’s supposed to!

Do not go here if you are a woman. I called and asked about a stereo replacement, I was told that I could come in any time and have it done in two hours. So I went in, and they kept trying to upsell me without listening to what I needed and then they didn’t actually have time to do the replacement. I bought all the parts and showed up the next day as I was told for the replacement. They still didn’t have the time. All along I was treated like I was stupid for doing what I was told to do and didn’t even get my damn stereo. What a waste of time.

But a technician named Kevin said, hey I think I have one in my tool box, hang on. And a minute later he handed it to me, no charge. What a gift, what a great experience! This place is a joke lmao. Made an appointment 4 days in advance to get a radio installed, called the day of 2 hours before my appointment to double check the time, they said 5:30. I get there at 5:30 (drove 40 minutes), told 3 different boys I was there to get a radio installed just to then wait 40 minutes and then be told that no one there can install a radio today..... like..... what was my appointment for then? There was like 10 boys working and none of them had any idea what was going on. Don’t waste your time man.

I was very unimpressed with the detailing. The cup holders and the track for the back seat were still gross and dirty. I paid an extra $55 to have the TINY cargo area carpet cleaned because of urine smells from my dogs accident and between that and the ozone treatment, the car still smells pretty strongly of urine. I will not be using Car Toys for detailing again.

This is a review on their customer service as I was treated really well. I had called another Car Toys store with questions, they were short with me on the phone and couldnt answer anything. They asked for my phone number for a call back and they never called back.When calling this store they were very polite and patient with me with all my questions. I was pretty new to the whole process and they explained everything for me really well.After arriving at the store we were greeted right away and there was a nice waiting area with chairs and chargers for our kid to sit at. We talked about a lot of options and ultimately decided on a new stereo to get installed. I was really impressed.

I took my Crosstrek in to get the stereo upgraded to a unit with Apple CarPlay and had the worst experience. I dropped it off at 9am and was told I’d get a call when it was done, but never received a call with any update or ETA for when it would be completed. I called multiple times and got short answers about how complete it was and still no ETA. I showed up 30 minutes before closing (almost 11 hours later) because I couldn’t get a straight answer on the phone about a completion time, and was told they couldn’t connect the backup camera. There was trash left in my car that wasn’t there before as well. Then realized while driving home that the front door speakers in my car were never connected and it’s only playing out of the back door speakers and sounds awful. Horrible experience.

Took my car for detailing inside & out. Before: dirty, shabby, covered with pollen and dirt and debris. After: I could see it sparkling as I pulled into the lot! They put multiple people on the task to get it done quickly without even being asked. Great value for a super pro job. I will definitely be going back and will also get my tinting here.

I have a 2009 Honda Civic with 2009 CD-based navigation system. I wondered if it could be upgraded. Car Toys had the best price and devices available. I selected the system that included Apple Car Play which shows the navigation that Im used to on my phone PLUS I can now play my iTunes musical selections, etc, etc. For not much more money they also installed a back up camera. They could have tried to sell me the replacement of my speakers but didnt. I am delighted! I basically have a NEW cars functionality without having to buy a new car!!!!

Worst experience ever with a detail. The seats are not clean, they did not vacuum the back of the car and the cup holders werent clean. Took the car in at 9 am picked up at 7:30 pm with no call it was complete..Obviously because it wasnt even done. They wouldnt give me my money back even though 2 employees agreed it was completely unacceptable and unsatisfactory.. work . Do not take your car here for any of your needs..Totally inept and horrible job! If I could give a 0 I would.. will never be back. You should be embarrassed of such poor work ethic. The experience I received from cartoys was nice. It did take two trips to get my car completely hooked up as I have a harder vehicle to do this stuff to. They kept a positive attitude even though each time I was there they had 3+ install staff call out. When getting my dash redone with back up camera and Apple car play they magically fixed other issues like my rear heaters that never worked and my dash clock went out a year ago. Which the dealership I bought my car from quoted me well over 700$ to do. And they fixed it! If I ever choose to do anything else I will take my vehicles to them and will recommend them to my family and friends. However I will ensure they make an appointment and show up early just so they dont run into issues that seem to happen since covid (the other customers bombarding each other just to get in the door). Or cutting in line when pmes been there significantly longer than the other. Thank you cartoys for taking care of my needs and working so hard!

I was having issues with my 99 Subaru bring stolen, twice in 90 days, decided to search up car alarms and whos got the best reputation and beat prices. The reviews & suggestions led me to Car Toys, I called my nearest one, Jantzen Beach,OR, & waited for a day or so for openings (many people wanting alarms that weekend near Xmas) and went it. I was somewhat sad there was only a handful of options, but very pleased they had the options I wanted to prevent theft and to be able to do something fast if it was somehow stolen ever again. My alarm was installed perfectly, no issues, and Id gladly recommend them to anyone. I rely on this alarm, to me it was worth the cost. It really was worth it. I had to spend a good portion of our Xmas monies to get it done, but I couldnt afford to loose my car. Check em out if youre shopping for an alarm! Or stereos or any car detail items.

You failed in every aspect you can possibly fail in. You couldn’t pay me to go back to car toys. This was closer to strong armed robbery than it was to an actual sale. It took 7 hours and dealing with rude employees to have 6 speakers installed in a jeep wrangler for a little over $600. In summary- complete and total rip off, don’t go there unless you want to piss money away.

Purchased an aftermarket head unit for my car from China and had Cory from Car Toys instal. The head unit had issues but Car Toys kept my car safe in the building for me (nothing happens fast when dealing with foreign companies) until the issue was remedied. Originally I was real hesitant to pay someone else to instal but feel like I dodged a bullet deciding NOT to go with unlicensed installers thinking I could save some 💰. The professionalism and honest care given to me and my car is greatly appreciated and Car Toys now has all my future business. Thank you Cory and Car Toys for going out of your way.

Brad was amazingly helpful! He gave me his honest opinion about sound options and I could not be happier. With his advice I was able to retrofit my 2006 Ford escape with great sound and a new touchscreen head unit. I wanted my speakers to slap and they do just that. We took in one of are vehicles in for a led light strip that stopped working, that they previously installed....and after being asked to bring it in yesterday only to be told all there installers who where spoused to work on it that day where sick things where already getting annoying. And now today we brought it in at opening time (9am) just like yesterday and called back a few hours later, we go down to pick it up only to realise they didnt fix the problem at all and the person on the phone lied saying everything was working before we came to pick it up. We left it there, and just now recently called them (6pm) and ask if it was done, they said yes and we asked again if he could check to make sure its working the right way since weve already brought it down there twice, they proceeded to say we will have to call you back after checking. (It wasnt fixed) Alot of wasted time, poor customer service and even worse installations. I wouldnt be going here if it was up to me, but its my grandpas truck and Im just giving him a ride back and forth, very unprofessional to run someone around like this and not even fix the problem. I wouldnt be surprised if they dont call and try to keep it overnight even it should be a simple fix since there the ones that installed it in the first place. Also just noticed my other account that I used to leave a similar review from a previous problem they caused has been blocked from leaving another review so I had to use a different account. Obviously cant handle honest customer feedback....

Bought an amp and some front components had them installed and they did a HACK install job. Tweeters look like they just ran a hole saw in my door panel horribly rough edges. I got really high end speakers and they dont have any swivel like i asked for and agreed on with rings! Nothing was tuned whatsoever. Wire for my amp was stuffed in a huge ball and exposed. Blow and go install. 16 bills later very disappointed. Nobody cares about your vehicle like you do.

I went to Car Toys to have a remote start put in. Brad was amazing in helping me check in and with getting the product for me. Scott did a fantastic job installing it and Brandon did an outstanding job on cleaning my headlights. I really couldnt see out of the in the morning going to work but now they look brand new. You guys have a customer for life thanks for everything!

Took his mask off as he went behind the register. mask kept slipping down as he was talking to us. other time i went in i had to ask the employee to put on his mask. then they half fix my friends car, and say they will get the kit in tomorrow. they then sell the kit to someone else. then after a month when they finally get the kit and get the car in, they never called when it was finished. lots of waiting around

Your people at the Hayden Island Dr in OR are very unprofessional!! I dropped off a car to get window tinting, they kept my car all day and never called to tell me it was ready. This was my second appointment because the first appointment got canceled because your people called out sick and they had no one to do my tinting. I WILL NEVER recommend your place to anyone I know!!!

I thought it would be easy to get a new touch screen stereo installed. Not here. Was told they didn’t have the correct cable/module so would have to replace my back-up camera but they would sell it at cost. Ok, it’s an extra $90 upsell. Sure. Pick up my truck later and drive it home. The camera angle looks funny. Turns out that instead of swapping out the existing back-up camera they mounted a new one on the license plate. What? Call back right away - turns out they did have the right cables and they will fix it the next day. Fine. I go to work the next morning and get a call requesting that I bring in the original radio. Really? You just added an extra hour of drive time. Ugh. Show up after work and they fix it. Great. Except on the way home I realize the USB port is no longer charging my phone. But wait, they installed a new one. Oh, right - another cable they could charge me for. Was out running errands today - what’s that hanging off the undercarriage of my truck? Oh, it’s the wire housing from the back-up camera they installed and then removed. Wow. This place sucks.

Mike detailed my interior and did an amazing job. Absolutely the best. Smells amazing. Ready to hit the road and earn money as a rideshare. They also carried my 30lb bag of dog food to the car. Definitely recommend this location. 2 hours total and the car is beautiful.

HUGE shout out to Kevin Commodore and Don Owen Car Toys NE Halsey! I had a remote start installed at another location, basically it quit working within a few weeks. It was summer so I wasnt too worried about it. Fast forward, its cold and I need someone to check it out. I head over to my local Car Toys and Kevin greets me with the BEST attitude. He comes out and takes a look, he is completely dissatisfied with the other locations work to say the least. He then calls on Don the Shop Manager, who is even more upset by what he sees. Im asked if I can leave it for a couple hours. Of course I do. When I come back, I am told that Don has completely re-installed/re-wired the system, moved things to where they should be and even cleaned up some wires the didnt need to. These guys went above and beyond their jobs and I am totally blown away and appreciative. Thank you!!

I called ahead and guy on the phone said just come in, no appointment needed.3/4 employees not wearing masks when I got there. Openly stated they didnt want to write me up. First guy walked away so second guy started it and then when I said I had a groupon he laughed, and called out to third guy hey do you wanna ring her up shes a groupon. It was weird how open and honest they were about not wanting to take care of a customer. Made me feel unwelcome.Car is clean so I guess Im gonna give 3 stars and say Covid has us all under a lot of stress?
