Impressed...seems like Home Depot was nearly staffed to the same level it was pre-pandemic. Thats a great testament to employee satisfaction, and good people they hire who would rather work for an earnest living vs. simply taking the dole.

Although it may not be aesthetically as inviting as say, ...- some local competitors are on the inside of their store...eh-hmmm(*locals know whom I refer concerning ; )It is much better equipped meeting just about every need you may encounter as far as hardware stores, or home/real estate improvement & / or repair is relative. They also have Quality plants, shrubs, & flowers seasonallyYes, I did stray upon the arrival of a big-boxs arrival, & grand opening a few years back...but, inevitably I returned toThe Home depot rather quickly, as Im sure many others have ...there is a lot to be said for integrity, consistency, & value...over flashy, trickery, & employees who have no -clue what painters tape isAnyways..(.??!!)

Very disappointed in customer service we received from the assistant store manager. We purchased a total of 7 gallons of porch stain, after purchasing four samples and sampling them on a piece of our deck. The color we chose and sampled we used on one of our 3 decks. After application it did not look anything like the sample of the color or the color swatch. Leading us to believe there was some type of issue mixing the color. We contacted hope depot in hopes we could exchange the stain, as we had a 5 gallon bucket full that we did not open. We are aware of the policy but spoke to someone in the paint section and she advised us that it is possible to get an exchange where the colors were not even remotely similar. The assistant manager barely took the time to listen to us and refused a refund or exchange. We’re a local business and tend to use Home Depot in a pinch if we can’t go to our supplier. We have a Home Depot credit card and spend more money than the average consumer. We will no longer use Home Depot for our business or personal use because of poor customer service.

Appliances delivered by two men without masks. One was unvaccinated and didnt even have a mask with him and the other one put on a mask after being asked. They couldnt deal with fridge install because they really arent trained to do anything with water lines or anything more than push it into place. While the delivery service was fine, I really cant recommend this company because of this incredibly lax policy amidst a pandemic. You cant allow employees who are unvaccinated to waltz into peoples homes with small children. This is completely unacceptable.

As a perk of being a loyal pro extra customer I received bountiful gifts on this righteous and pleasant day. Every associate which I encountered was friendly and helpful. Dont worry Home Depot, I will be back soon.

Management of associates become very poor. They are supposed to ask for job numbers, provide option for email, etc to support pro contractors and their employees at checkout. These guys are at least as likely to skip these options because most people dont do that (according to the last 3 associates I had the misfortune to deal with). Lowes is a nearby option.

Good store to buy what you need if the have it.

Love home depot. Anytime theres a disaster of sorts Home Depot is always one of the first ones on the ground helping, donating. I like their garden club also.

DIY project place. It has all the item one needs to get the project done. I like this HD because its close to home. Theres no fanciness here... it has the feel of a large lumber yard. Lots of employees to help you load and unload your purchases.

Great staff visited one day on a job and they loaded everything I didnt have to lift a thing.

Went to rent a pick up truck. Jake and Jerry were the best people Ive encountered in customer service. Super nice and polite, got me what I needed quickly and let me know all the options. These two deserve a raise or some sort of promotion period...

Prefer layout of other stores better. Takes too long to find stuff there. I frequent Windham and Scarborough and like them better. A few Associates are great but some are not so. Takes a long time to get checked out there.

I was able to find everything I needed and was asked by more than one employee if I needed help!!

This is my Go-To Home Depot location. its very good, friendly staff. They have been having issue keeping this location stocked and have made several trips and they are missing what I need. Hopefully they can remedy. It is not as busy as other locations so I prefer.

Online store has tons of stuff thats not in store. They offer free delivery to your local store, with no-hassle returns, and polite employees.

Same selection as always. Service has gone down hill. Any associate I spoke with seemed like I was bothering them. And when I *could* get answers to my questions, they were short and no one attempted to problem solve with me. I worked here for 5 years, and I STILL found it better to leave and go to Lowes. Super sad because they used to be the best.But if you know EXACTLY what you want and where it is... and you DONT want to be bothered at all by people... its perfect for you!

Preferable to Lowes in the big-box home improvement business.

BEWARE! Home Depot is running a consumer scam with Retailer Equation. I was returning merchandise in perfect condition with receipts and the store manager accepted the return. But the computer system denied the return on the advice of third-party Retailer Equation for no apparent reason. This was the first time that I was requesting store credit after years of spending tens of thousand of dollars per year. Do not shop at any stores that use Retailer Equation and expect that they will honor their return policies.

Purchased a Toro lawn Mower at this store on 7/28/20. The start/stop cord broke and was no longer functional. I Spoke with store manager Nicole who refused to return the mower because it was past the 30 day return (I’ve had the mower for 4 months and still had my receipt). Nicole refused to fix the mower and stated I would need to pay to fix it myself or contact Toro. (I contacted Toro and they put me on a list to have it fixed possibly by late spring). Nicole was unprofessional/rude and was unwilling to work on a solution. This is a problem with the quality of product Home Depot is selling and I will no longer do business with them.

They were very helpful. I wanted to pick up a microwave oven at the Portland location but they did not have it. A call to the South Portland location found one. When i arrived at that store the microwave was on its way to the front of the store.

It was better than my last few visits.. Theres been a few times when it seems like the people with the orange smocks run away from you.

Despite false advertising, home depot is amazing. I did not see any actual homes. I did not look in the back left corner of the store so maybe they are there. Even without any actual homes in their store, they have everything you need to build a home so hard to be mad at them for not having homes when they give you opportunity to build one. Good stuff.I got a small cat door for my cats and it works really well. Their online store said it was in stock and BOOM. When I got there, it was. Now my cats are happy.

New self checkout machines are great. Bar code guns are fast and accurate. Cashier (in mask) attending to help with questions or problems and sanitizing between customers.

I like home Depot generally speaking, this trip wasnt great. I ordered some things online for curbside pickup and for some reason that wasnt working so had to go into the store. Like many I suppose during the pandemic youve experienced some inconsistency with rule following and mask wearing, which is also what I encountered here.

Kid stood at the register texting on his phone while i struggled loading 4X8 Sheets of plywood onto a cart with wheels that kept rolling away from me and towards him 7 feet away. After the 3rd sheet said to him youre pretty useless, huh? He relied what?. I repeated myself, he shrugged and returned to his texting.

I’ve debating leaving a review for this Home Depot because my store experiences have been so varied. On several occasions the staff have been incredibly helpful and friendly, but I’ve noted over the past year that it’s mostly been the staff in the paint, outdoor, and decor sections. When buying lumber, tools, and construction materials I’ve consistently and condescendingly been asked if I *really* know what I’m doing and if I have a husband or brother there to help me. Yesterday two men working in the Lumber section asked if I was “acting as the gofer for my lazy husband.” I was hoping to use Home Depot’s kitchen and bath remodel services for a new home renovation, but after several sexist and humiliating experiences I do not feel comfortable continuing to shop at this location. I would recommend the store manager consider retraining the staff on how to respectfully approach women.

Rented a Kubota tractor with a bucket loader to move a large pile of dirt and also a trencher. Both worked well for what I rented them for, the service at the Rental department was good, altogether happy with the experience.

Very friendly and helpful customer service. I find that the people working at this store are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Dont like the idea of having to scan my own items. I dont work for home depot and Im not getting paid to do it. Two of us were scanning and bagging or own items and both needed help because therewas a problem. Took twice as long and still needed an associate to help. Will find another place to shop where there are cashiers

I wished I had the Gentlemans name (Shirt black hair, trimmed beard, tall and slender Tuesday, November 25th 11:30 AM Paint Dept? Electric/Plumbing) was very helpful and proceeded to assist my ex-wife and I with our needs throughout several departments within the store.His attention and listening skills FAR Outshine even the above average skills of the typical Home Depot Associates. This store in particular, everyone we came across was pleasent and courteous. This is FAR from what we have in South Florida.Thank You Everyone!

People there were very helpful and a true pleasure to work with. Greg in plumbing was awesome as was Jess in getting everything checked out and on our truck. We had been to another large home store and were treated poorly with little help. Will only use Home Depot from now on.

Set up an appointment with home depot to have a sliding door installed...they never showed up. I called this store to see what happened, and they advised they would call me back to set up a new appointment...they never did. I was a repeat customer for this store, but no longer will be, due to their poor customer service.

I was traveling with my towable house trailer from my house in Maine to my campsite several hours away. We stopped at Home Depot to get some supplies for a project we were doing on the camper. It was getting late and dark, I asked and received permission to stay the night in the parking lot and work on my project. When my project ran late, they let me stay another day. The parking lot was clean and neat. The people are friendly. Even the management. I will be coming here for all my building material and project needs!

Dont ever use the curb side pick up. I did and Ive been waiting 6 hours for my order. I dont care how busy you are if you cant handle the volume dont offer the service. Especially when the app says it will be ready in under 2 hours.

No one on the floor to help. Have to ask for manager. Items not where you are told they are. Downspouts all damaged..... How can South Portland Home Depot be so much better, management!

I felt like a commercial for big box stores... not a single worker to help in electrical departments. Once i finally tracked down a man he did not listen or perhaps didnt know the department. I needed a 3 way not single pole switch! Errrrr! The worker in paint was prompt and courteous.

Not very helpful waited 10 minutes after someone was going to send a department appropriate clerk called the store from my phone rang 25 times boone answered gave up

Excellent customer service from Don at the Portland Home Depot!! Don carefully listened to the issue I was having with stuck threshold adjustment screws (I had stripped the head of one of the screws) on a new home Depot jen weld door, provided recommendation for impact drill ( I bought a Milwaukee combination drill / impact 18v cordless). It solved the problem in seconds and even allowed adjustment of stripped screw. Job done !!

Flooring department is disappointing. They are impossible to get in touch with, they ordered the wrong flooring and set my project back a month. They offered no compensation for my loss of time and money. Ive been referred to the south Portland location, I hear that they are much more accommodating.Just wanted a simple install...now I have to start from scratch.

I have never experienced such amazing customer service in my life! I bought a product that didnt work out how I had hoped, super easy return and they even gave me back my coupon ($20 off $200) to use on another purchase. Then, with myself being completely clueless when it comes to building things, I was greeted and assisted by Richard who OMG was AMAZING!!!!! Not only did he find me exactly what I needed, he then cut the wood and screwed in place 90% of it. Not only did he make my project so much easier for me, he was also so patient and took the time to teach me and make sure I knew exactly what I was doing to finish the job at home. I will never go back to Lowes again after this experience!!! Thank you!!!!
